Green Element EVO 48"-52" LED Aquarium Light Fixture - Reef Capable 32x3W

Green Element EVO 48'-52' LED Aquarium Light Fixture - Reef Capable 32x3WI did a little shopping around to figure out what type of light fixture to get, as my compact flourescent hood ballasts started failing prematurely. Apparently, LEDs are the latest and greatest.

I was leery of this one because there were no product reviews yet. So here is mine.

I saw complaints on other models about the LEDs being too directional...in other words, they shine down directly and don't illuminate the areas either in the front or back of the tank, or both. This doesn't seem to be the case with this lighting fixture. It is very bright and appears to cover the entire floor of the tank. This is a 60 gallon acrylic tank. Perhaps with wider tanks, this could be a problem--I can't say. But it fits the bill for a 60 gallon tank (which is basically a taller 55-gallon tank).

There is one power cord, so you couldn't use separate timers for the actinic and daylight bulbs. However, there is a 3-function switch:

1.) All lights off

2.) Daylight/actinic on

3.) Actinic only on

I snapped some pictures with my cell phone, and they don't really reflect how vibrant the tank looks with this lighting fixture in place. I may post some at a later date or try to take better pictures.

I realized when I opened the box that the mounting brackets were installed upside down. They slide out easily enough so you can reorient them properly before setting this on your tank. Perhaps this is done for packaging/shipping reasons. I don't think the instructions mention this, but I only skimmed them because I was anxious to see this baby installed.

It appears to be an excellent fixture, although I've only had it installed for less than 24 hours. I will update this review if the reliability becomes an issue, as it did with my previous compact flourescent fixture that failed fairly quickly.

Currently, I am running a fish-only saltwater tank (with a smattering of invertebrates), so I can't comment on whether or not this thing is appropriate for corals, etc.

Got these in 4 days so very happy. Currently running a 150 gallon standard 72" long x18" wide x 30" tall FOWLR (fish only with live rock). Got tired of t5 HO with old bulbs that grow algae so decided on these LEDs to give it a try.. Bought two of these lights because I'm having a 10' x20"x24" tank built and wanted to test these first on the 150g with a 6 foot long foot print to see if there are any shadow areas.

Light output is great, I wanted it white and bright look and that is what I got. Back and front both well lit with no dark corners. Sides, left and right of the light is dark but not the lights fault. I raised them about 10 inches of the top of the tank and it helps a bit but still dark corners. I have some fish and inverts that actually prefer it not so bright so they've kinda migrated and I don't mind the look.

Overall I think it's the best bang for your buck.

32LEDs @ 3watts ea =96watts

10000k bright white

No other strip I've researched has same output for this price

I like that the sliding legs on the sides come out and can be turned upside down so I can hang the light from the canopy simply with self tapping little hooks.

The lights are cool, but the top part runs pretty hot, almost too hot to touch.

Connections are excellent with plenty of length and can be secured tightly to each other.

Initially thought only white or only blue were on but then realized that all are on at the same time and if you switch (manually) the white ones basically turn off and only the blue ones stay on (I think) it looks like the blue alone are way brighter if on alone than when both are supposed to be on. Maybe it's just the 10000k whites taking over.

Like other reviews only real issue is that you can only have one setting on timer, but knew this going in so can't complain about it.

I shopped around a lot before buying this lamp for my 75G reef tank.

I have had it for a month and so far, I am very happy.

The tank looks great with it, lots of light and the blue lights makes an amazing moon effect.

Pros:

-Great day light and moon loght effect

-stays cool

-Nice design with quality materials

Cons:

No timer (but for this price, we can not ask for too much either)

Very happy with this purchase and if you are looking for a solid high quality coral lamp for a good price, this is the way to go.

I would definitely recommend it. This is the brand I wil buy from now on

I put this on my 60 and 80 gallon reef tanks. For the 60 gallon it is bright with lots of shimmer. One will be enough to give any 60 gallon a professional look. Very diffuse light. These are 3 watt LEDs. Compared to the marineland, the Reef Evo will have more power or brightness. The marinelands are using only 1'watt LEDs. It's also half the price of a marineland. Just plug into a timer switch and you're set.

For my 80 gallon reef tank, since its 6 inches deeper than my 60, 1 Reef Evo may not be bright enough. You may want a quad (4 row led) reef evo. But since I already had a panorama marine pro led, adding this gave my 80 perfect lighting. I'm using this combo to grow SPS corals too. So for any tank above 60 gallons you may want a quad led or have additonal lights if,purchasing this product. I'm giving it 5 stars because I knew what I was getting for my 60 gallon reef tank.

I have a large reef tank. I used Metal Hallide, then Power Compact, then T5 bulbs..then now using these LEDs! Why? Because PG&E "encouraged" me to use less energy (used too much compared to my neighbors)

I have only soft corals, I have bought the 36x1W LED light fixture before and it does not provide enough light!

I bought this light fixture on April 18, so it has been 2 months. It has 32x3w bulbs. The first day I did not like it much since it seems too dark, but the next day, after my eyes adjusted to the new light, I love it! The beam go straight down on the rocks, not shed out at all, so it makes the whole tank stand out from the dark environment. The blue light painted on the rocks blue color make them look fancy! The fish love it too, they are calmer and swim slower. The corals, surprisingly open wider and reach out more (the mushroom corals). I saved much energy by using 96w/hr now instead of 320w/hr as before, and the soft corals still thrill! So you can use this light for fresh water or salt water (for soft corals). Have fun!

Jardin Silicone Aquarium Fish Tank Sea Anemone Ornament, Mini, Orange

Jardin Silicone Aquarium Fish Tank Sea Anemone Ornament, Mini, OrangeFits perfectly in my tank, love how soft it is, and fluid it moves! Really nice! I don't have to worry about my fancy long tailed gold fish fins getting ripped up, and when I put my moon lights on it has a tinge of glow to it. Love it!

Update: Within a few months the colors began to fade and silcone develoved a white coated residue, I washed and soaked it but to no avail, it doesn't come off. Not long after that, the silicone part come off completely. Not impressed with it so much now, but when I first got it, I totally loved it. Keep in mind it just doesn't last long!

It is super soft and moves great in the light current my little filter makes. Glows under the blue LED light setting I have as well. The best part though is my Betta LOVES this thing. He swims along the tentacles and rests on top of it and even tries to snuggle inside it! So glad I found something else I could add to my Betta tank for him to interact with and enjoy! A "MUST BUY" for Betta lovers!

This has got to be one of the best things I have ever gotten for my Bettas. I currently own two bettas and got this orange Anemone as well as the blue one for my other fish. My bettas love it! They both will play in them and swim through them repeatedly. One of my bettas actually sleeps in his every night. The silicone is sturdy and doesn't come off when in the water. I have had mine for 2 months now and they are still lasting. Well worth the price tag, highly recommend it.

I've always had aquariums and its well known you should always rinse/wash things off before putting them in your tank. I was unaware however that the elastic rubber tentacles come off of the rock so I didn't pull them apart to wash them. So I put the product in my tank and overnight the tank became somewhat cloudy (not super cloudy but enough to where I could notice) I realized after pulling the product out that the cloudiness was coming from the product because white drops of liquid were dripping off of it into the water. Its not that this product isn't great, its just made my tank cloudy because of the powdery substance they coat it in to keep the tentacles from sticking together.

Complements the fish tank well. They were properly rinsed and left to soak for days before adding to the tank. It has gotten a little speckled but I have not tried to take it out and examine or clean. I will update when I do. It moves well with the flow of the current but they also "move". Yup, I thought they might be alive :-). Despite their weighted base my goldfish and koi sometimes play with and move them around. I guess since they're the tenants they felt a need to redecorate my tank :-).

This part is the perfect fit and replacement for the Laguna 1400 filter that I have.

It took maybe 15 minutes to switch out all the parts from the old head to the new one.

All Glass Aquarium AAG65010 Silicone Sealant, 10-Ounce

All Glass Aquarium AAG65010 Silicone Sealant, 10-OunceI purchased this product for the "off label" use of creating silk flower aquarium decor. It was great & perfectly safe for my fish. I followed the product recommendations and applied it to a base of aquarium stones to imbed more natural looking flora to my setup. Terrific product. Useful and safe.

Used it to seal an aquarium. At 6 months everything is fine. The one downside is that it's *extremely* hard to start the flow. Starting this thing takes a strong guy or something better than a hand-powered caulk gun.

I bought the large 10 oz tube to fill in some hollow decorations so I wouldn't need to worry about cleaning the interior surfaces. It has worked great for this purpose. It does have a strong vinegar smell to it, and the big tube requires a caulk gun to dispense it. Wear latex gloves when using to prevent getting any on your skin, but if you do I found that Clorox wipes remove it easily off of skin and surfaces. Water doesn't really cut it. If you do use this to fill decorations remember the decorations will FLOAT unless you put some weight inside. I used medium sized aquarium rocks that were clean.

I used this to assemble a reef tank sump. It works perfect and is MUCH better then the GE1 sold at Home Depot. It even "smells" better. It sets up nice and firm as soon as you use it unlike non-aquarium silicone that is "mushy".

Coralife 77070 3X Turbo Twist UV Sterilizer

Coralife 77070 3X Turbo Twist UV SterilizerMy 29 gallon tank developed a chronic algal bloom that I could not get rid of. The water was murky even after daily 30% water changes. I even removed the snails and plants and used an algicide, which worked quite well until the algae came back a week later. I was ready to give up and scrap the tank altogether when I found out about this product. It is pricey, but it seemed worth the risk to save the tank, especially after I read the reviews.

IT WORKS.

You need to be using powerheads or a canister filter with 1/2" or 5/8" tubing. After I insterted this into the output line of my canister filter, the floating algae in the water died. Within 24 hours I noticed the water was definitely clearer, as my filter had been able to remove some of the dead algae. After 2 daily water changes, the water became and has stayed CRYSTAL clear, like a brand new tank all over again. Since the dead algae can't reproduce, when it is filtered out or removed in a water change, IT STAYS GONE. The best part is that you don't need to worry about the UV Sanitizer damaging your canister's biological filter, because it sanitizes the water that LEAVES the canister any nitrifying bacteria trapped in the filter remains unharmed, free to keep breaking down your ammonia.

HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!!!

I have had this unit for several years now, and it seem to do a good job at keeping illness out of the tank. Since I've installed it I haven't had any issues with ick or any other illness. I am using a Fluval 404 and the hoses match up perfectly. It's on a 75 gal. fresh water tank and as far as the leeking mentioned in other reveiws I have had any issues.

The only major complaint I have is that it likes bulbs. If you buy the manufacture bulb it can rack up the $$$ quickly. Costing anywhere from $34 to $54 a bulb. I've found that any 9watt PL type germicidal bulb will work. I went to our local electric contracing supplier and they were able to match up the bulb and sell me bulbs for around $16 a bulb. A big cost down that my wallet loves.

The unit as a whole has worked out well for me, but the cost is a little much. I would only recommend this unit to people that are truely in to fish and don't mind spending money on them.

I actually use this on a 1,000 gallon pond. It clears the entire pond in one night. I've got a separate small pump set up just for the turbo. This year, I tried doing without it and using barley. But the pond looks like mud right now. By tomorrow it will be totally clear.

UV sterilizers are a good thing, especially in the reef tank where most medications will kill expensive corals.

I purchased two 9 watt units (for a freshwater and a reef setup). Below are the problems encountered:

(1) assembly it would appear that it would be a very simple procedure to attach the hoses from the canister filter to the input / out put of the coralife unit. This in fact was the main reason I purchased this over other models. The problem, this seal is NOT at all water tight. Expect water everywhere. The units I was attaching were fluval canister filters (which are the predominate unit in the market place). I was able to remedy this with several units of plumbing tape, but be prepared.

(2) One unit broke in less than three months, I discovered the other unit was not working several months later when my reef tank fish came down with ich after I introduced a new fish. I tried new bulbs but it was the ballast from the units that was defective. I spoke about this to a friend who informed me his two units lated less than a year.

(3) instructions are vague on hook-up specifications, only stating the estimated tank capacity these units can accommadate . Instead before you purchase ANY UV unit make sure you know it's flow rate and the flow rate of your filter. Even though they say a coralife 9 watt unit can accommadate a tank up to (I believe 100 gallons), the flow rate required is that of a fluval 105, which no one would use as the primary filter for a tank this large.

In conclusion a good design with the "twists" increasing dwell time with poor exacution. If you purchase a unit check it frequently to see if it still works, also do not expect it to continue working past the 6 month time frame!!!!!!

First off, shipping from my seller was incredible. Ive never recieved an item so fast! The performance of the serilizr is top notch, helps clear water, and since 2 days after I turned it on my fish has not had the slightest symptom of ich, which he was fighting for a week before! They say on message boards that these items are not a fix for ich, I say otherwise. They point out that it dont kill ich on the fish, Well No Kidding, its not going to suck the fish through it and kill the ich, but ich drops off the fish to reproduce. It is during these times that the ich is killed by the sterilizer. If its dead it cant attack your fish again, so this is a fix for ich. Anyway the reason I didnt give it 5 stars is because it dont come with everything you need to hook it up. You have to go to the hardware store and buy tubes to hook this thing up to your pump. How STUIPID is that! couldnt it at least come with some tubing that is the right size for hooking it up to the sterilizer, then an adaptor or 2 to hook it up to different pumps! I had to make 2 trips to the hardware store to get the right stuff to connect this, once for tubes, and another time for elbows so my tubing isnt going from one side to the other. Very stupid not to include these simple items.

Baby biOrb Swap Top Blue - 4 Gallon

Baby biOrb Swap Top Blue - 4 GallonIt was super easy to put on my baby biOrb and now it has a better look! The only con is that it doesn't stay on which isn't really a problem for me since I don't move my biOrb at all so...

The rings are great. They were easy to use and change out. The bottom one actually just slides over the existing silver one, but the top one you change out completely. This is a well made product and you can't go wrong buying it to help match your room!

Vibran-Sea Narrow Eel Grass Silk-Style Aquarium Plant, Medium 9-10 tall, Deep Plum

Vibran-Sea Narrow Eel Grass Silk-Style Aquarium Plant, Medium 9-10 tall, Deep PlumLooks nice in aquarium. weighted base is heavy enough. They sway nicely in the current and clean up easily. buying more. >>>> UPDATED >>>> After a month or so in the tank the edges of all the plants frayed, the frayed strings came loose and wrapped themselves around the impeller of my penguin filter. All garbage now.

I saw pictures of this eel grass posted by another reviewer and I instantly just fell in love!

I order it in purple and in all green color as well and combined they look phenomenal in my tank hands down almost as though they are real.

The purple is a very nice and exotic violet almost and the green on it is light so it looks as though it is a salt water plant.

I am very pleased with the quality as well although I would have liked to see the base a little heavier so that it can hold it self better under the gravel instead of having to place rocks or a lot of gravel on it so it can stay down.

The different shades also do not limit you to what other plants you can put in the tank because it almost has all the shades in it so blending is a breeze again.

I definitely recommend it and would buy it again.

These aquarium plant are very life like and an excellent addition to any aquarium in place of real plants. Only down side is they tend to wear out fast over a short period of time and discolor easier than plastic plants.
