Finnex Ray2 Aquarium Day/Actinic LED Light

Finnex Ray2 Aquarium Day/Actinic LED Light, 48-InchI usually never write reviews but based on how much this impressed me when I first turned it on and the fact that there are almost no reviews for this light anywhere on the net, I decided to write one. I have a 10 gallon reef tank and until now, never had good lighting for it. So, I have been researching a lot the past couple of months on different lighting because I am starting to add more and more corals to my setup. Man is this light bright and very beautiful. The strip of white LEDs with the strip of blue LEDs brings out a lot of color on my fish and corals...especially my star polyps.

I have uploaded some pics that I took with my zoom. I was hesitant at first because the pics just don't do it justice.

Granted I just received this light today, but I would recommend this light to anyone with a small reef tank.

I will add some notes in few weeks to see how my fish and corals react. I am also very interested to see if my green bubble tip anemone will react positively to it too!

Satisfied with the light for the price although a bit more blue than I had expected.

Pros 1.) affordable 2.) LED

Cons 1.) the adjustable "legs" that the light sits on are notably cheap and did not fit my 30 gal. cube aquarium (19" but I had hoped there would be an adequate range of adjustment in the light. 2.) the power cord is SHORT. I can't picture the advantage of such a short cord and it did not really work for my set up.

Overall as long as the two cons don't worry you this would be a good buy for the price.

I've got this for my sump setup because I got a condy anemone. Within a month or two with proper feeding it has regained a nice brownish color from a meek off white... and is very active. At first I wasn't for sure how much it would help but I'm running this with a ecobright 5700k compact flourecent bulb to help the algae grow nicely. People are amazed at how nice my sump looks. I would definately purchase their brand for other tanks when needed.

Very good light for the money. If you have been looking for a LED light that wont break the bank, give this a try. The actinic really makes the colors pop and my Coral Beauty looks awesome in the light. Hopefully this lasts as advertised. I ended up putting this on a 36" wide tank since i have a hood and would not fit with the 36inch size due to the way it mounts. I was able to create a custom hanging mount easily. The key is the light goes edge to edge with no issues.

Jardin Aquarium Fish Tank Diffuser Bubble Wall with Suction Cup, 23-Inch, Green

Jardin Aquarium Fish Tank Diffuser Bubble Wall with Suction Cup, 23-Inch, GreenOnly one side of this actually worked well. The other side had a few random bubbles coming out but nothing like the side closest to the air hose. I ended up moving the cap to the first section and just using it. It looks pretty like this and I don't have to worry about it coming apart. I should have just purchased the 12" one.

I looked all over the Permian Basin for this and was thrilled to find it. It arrived so fast I was surprised by my delivery. The fish love swimming in the bubbles and think they can hide behind them. It adds a beautiful feature to my aquarium.

Fluval Nano Aquarium Filter

Fluval Nano Aquarium FilterThis filter is very, very noisy. Do not buy if you plan to spend any time in the room where the aquarium is. It will drive you crazy.

My Nephew had one of the filters, and the are horrible. They don't clean very well, they are not very durable, nor are they reliable. For the same price, one can find a much better filter. These are just not worth it, so don't bother wasting your money.

Mardel 5-in-1 Test Strips (Freshwater/Saltwater)

Mardel 5-in-1 Test Strips, 25-CountI love keeping fish but I am lazy. The constant test tube tests drive me crazy and my local fish stores say that it is the only way to go. Going against their advice, I've been using these strips exlusively for more than a year and they have been fast, easy and seemingly accurate, since my aquarium has been extremely stable. Initially, I would compare the PH readings with the test tube, and these strips readings were consistent.

I recommend these!

These strips are easy to use, except for the pH test. There isn't much difference between the oranges on the comparison chart for the pH and the pH strip color doesn't match anything on the bottle. I've been using a liquid pH test that seems to be more accurate (or at least easier to read).

Make sure to wait the full minute for the Nitrate test becuase the color takes a while to develop.

Buy Mardel 5-in-1 Test Strips (Freshwater/Saltwater) Now

These strips are easy to use, but I didn't notice that they only have a limited shelf life and the following season they were inaccurate. I checked and they'd expired. The 100 count is probably more than you'll use in one year. But it you're aware of this they do save a lot of time. But the price is high for one season of testing.

The strips were a terrible buy. I thought they were working in the beginning, but every time I used a strip it never changed. The alkalinity portion of the strip would change to a color that wasn't listed on the bottle.

These strips scream efficiency, but I would suggest just getting the tube tests.

Want Mardel 5-in-1 Test Strips (Freshwater/Saltwater) Discount?

I have four established fish tanks. I use these strips weekly to make sure my tanks are not having any issues. I've been using these strips for 5 years and work well. Note that they have limited shelf life of about a year. Check the bottom of the container for expiration date. You can tell when they age because the pink test colors are faded. I was surprised to see other reviewers complain that these strips failed to change color. You can test these strips with household products. I also have test tube based kits but these strips have always agreed with the results. I have freshwater tropical fish of the more common variety and they aren't extremely fussy about the pH range or water hardness: cory cats, tetras, loaches, green spotted puffers, guppies, barbs, chocolate gouramis. If you have fish that require very exact water conditions, perhaps strips may not be for you. I find them to be an excellent product and because it's so quick and easy, I actually do test my water weekly.

Laguna PowerGlo LED Mini Pond Light Kit with 2-Pack 40-Bulb LED Lights

Laguna PowerGlo LED Mini Pond Light Kit with 2-Pack 40-Bulb LED LightsUse this for my fountain in the front yard. It really lights it up nice, the photo cell works well, comes on at dusk and off at dawn. Lots of cord too.

I purchased this product to light up a waterfall I built at night. First the good:

*Long cords make it easy to hide cords while placing lights wherever you want. This is both from the plug itself plus between the two lights.

*Bright enough to really light up the area.

*Quick connects make it really easy to install and use without any alterations.

Things that could have been used to improve this product:

*I personally would have preferred a softer whitish blue light or maybe even some filters to turn it to a light blue color. While these do a great job lighting the waterfall, they are definitely a yellow white color which is harsher than I would like. (not marking off due to the fact that they did a great job advertising and I knew this when I purchased)

*While these will sit on the ground or a flat ledge just fine, I wish there was something on the bottom to secure the lights if you wanted them at a specific angle. Maybe a little plastic jutting out with a pre-drilled screw hole on two sides so you could screw it into a angled board or zip tie it to a pipe?

*While the lights do adjust, they will only move back in forth on set patterns rather than fully moveable which means you might be slightly off as you cannot stop it anywhere on the swivel....

Overall, this was a great product that I would recommend to someone building a waterfall. I have not had any options with the light sensor or lights going out while submerged but will update my review if this happens.

Lights are fine but hooked to a timer (not included) because after the third night of activation, the unit failed.

Light are working OK and doing what was described.

When I called the vendor, I was told to put everything back into its original box and they would repair or replace.

I spent several hours installing/threading wires from the outlet to the transformer on to the lights (cosmetic purist)

did not want to go through the same routine in reverse and then reinstall the new/repaired unit once returned to me.

Since the customer service tech seemed not to accept that I simply return the detachable ON/Off Light sensor unit

"because policy is that the lights must be returned in the package theycame in" and that was that; I insisted on speaking

to her supervisor, who seemed emminently more reasonable and said she woul try to find a replacement Light Sensor.

All that transpired two weeks ago, and I'm still without the sensor.

Moral of the story: Only buy this Pond Light Kit if you can use it without the ON/OFF dusk to dawn feature. Most lower

end sensors, if they fail will do so within days of first use, if that works in your intended application, then go for it.

These were a real find! They come with two submersible lights with a daylight sensor (on at dusk off at dawn) and a long cord. The lighting is bright but not over-powering. Perfect mood lighting in a mid-size fountain. They sit on the bottom without any need to mount or clip them. By day they are inconspicuous and unobtrusive. A great product.

Marineland Classic Aquarium Kit, 4-Gallon

Marineland Classic Aquarium Kit, 4-GallonI got this to house a male platy. The filter was VERY loud and produced such a strong current that he was having a hard time swimming around. Since this filter does not have any way to adjust the flow, I installed a small sponge filter and tried to unhook the filter that came with the tank. Well, the joke is on me because the lighting and filter system is on the same circuit, so you cannot unhook one and still have the other. I would not recommend this to anyone and wish I'd never gotten it.

Just bought this the other day to house my two little fancy guppies. This is my first aquarium purchase ever, so I had no idea what to look for/watch out for. It's a little cumbersome to set up with the LEDs and the filter; there are no markers for what plugs into what (though the directions tell you there are).

The water flow/current is an issue. When I feed my guppies, the food quickly gets whisked away by the current from the water coming into the tank. They find the food eventually, but there's a lot of water movement at the top of the tank due to the filter assembly pouring the filtered water back into the tank. Guppies are top of the tank dwellers, so they have a tough time up there since there's so much movement. I do see them hanging out behind where the water splashes out since there's less water movement back there. I need to find some way to adjust the flow; sadly, there's no built-in way to slow down the outpour of filtered water back into the tank. I'm thinking of shoving some kind of sponge in there to break up the current.

The filter isn't loud, but the splashing water is. I could hear it when I went to bed last night. Small house, but still, that's some loud water!

The plexiglass is fine, but know that it does scratch easily. When the tank is full, there is some bow to the sides, but it's very minimal. Knowing what I know now, I'd opt for glass next time.

It's a nice-looking tank, I will say that. The LEDs are nice (you have a "day" light and a "evening" light; unfortunately, YOU have to turn it off each night see next paragraph) and it's a nice simple, clean design. Nice size for a desk or kitchen table or counterop. Setup took about 20 mins. and I initally put the tank on the little plastic stand backwards. If the back parts don't all nicely notch together, you've likely got your plexiglass tank on backwards.

Light and filter are on the same power cord, so you can't put the aquarium on a timer since when the unit is off, light and filter are off. You also cannot power off the filter assembly via a button; you have to unplug it. Also, since the top (light hood) has the LEDs wired into it, you cannot remove the top entirely... you have to sort-of balance it on top of the filter box when you need to do something like change water or clean.

Also, the little clear aquarium cover doesn't snap in, it just sits in a notch on top of the LED light hood, so every time I go to take the light hood off for water changes, the clear aquarium cover falls off. Drives me nuts!

Even though it's been a few days, I can say I WOULD NOT recommend this tank if you're getting a fish like a Betta or a top-dwelling fish like a fancy guppy. The little missing touches are what makes this tank a little frustrating. For the price, it was OK, but but there are better options out there and I'm kickking myself for not doing more research on tanks.

I used this tank for a reef tank with 2 clownfish. Some of the other reviews say that the flow is too strong for their tank however, for me it's perfect! It eliminates the need for a powerhead. Also I have a lot of experience with nano tanks so I recommend you knowing a few things before getting this. I myself changed the tank a lot with lighting by added more LED's. Also with the filter I like it. It is powerful and works well. I had enough room to put in bio from my other reef in the tank to skip the cycle and with the combined filter pad and a bio wheel keeps my tank clean. I do see the problems that others have faced, but with my experience iv been able to modify and combat those problems. So overall this is not for a beginner especially if you're doing a saltwater tank.

i had this tank set up for one week. it is now in the garbage. assembly is a hassle. you can't simply take the lid off to clean the tank or do water changes or feed frogs because it is connected via the cluster of wiring. the wiring is a nightmare. you can't shut off just the lights or just the filter or put a light on a timer because they're on the same circuit. the tank is acrylic which means if you put any sort of ornamental rocks in the tank you're likely to scratch it. its also super thin and not very sturdy. if you manage to get the lid to sit on correctly (mine was warped) you will soon find that condensation drips from the lid to the outside of the sides of the tank. the water from the filter is also loud and annoying. i got a 5.5 gallon kit from petsmart for $30 on sale, and the only thing i didn't like was the light, and i swapped the bulb out for $10 and i love it. opt for that route, and avoid this trainwreck

With numerous aquaria throughout our home, we thought it would be fun for our son to have a starter setup in his bedroom. Having had good experiences in the past with Bio-Wheel designs and Marineland products, we opted for this entry level kit. Assembly was tricky due to a lack of color-coding on the various male/female electrical couplers. Through trial-and-error, we solved this step. The kibosh was turning on the filter. It sounded like our Rancillio coffee grinder. I turned it off, inspected the impeller, found it to be of the lowest quality. Cheap, bent, cavitating wildly. I expected the Bio-Wheel to make some splashing noise, but the impeller could be heard downstairs in our living room. And we expected our son to SLEEP with this aquarium in his bedroom? Transferred his fish to a quarantine tank, boxed this kit up and made it go away. Purchased a Fluval Spec, all is good in our world.

TOM Aquarium Maintenance Algae Scraper Multi Tool 14 Length

TOM Aquarium Maintenance Algae Scraper Multi Tool 14 LengthI really like this set for cleaning our aquarium. It's nice not to get your hands in the water when scraping the glass or cleaning the sand. My only complaint is that it would be really nice if the scraper rotated 90 degrees to either side. We have a bow-front aquarium and you can only scrap the front glass from side to side. If you try to scrape up and down (the only way this guy will work) you just scratch two lines at either end of the blade. Overall, not a huge deal...

Works great on my tank for the areas my clean up crew doesn't get to. Love the interchangeable heads and the long handle.

We had a fish tank at work that had been neglected as the owner of the fish got a new job. The tank was disgusting and the scraper in this kit cleaned the glass tank so easily. After cleaning the tank clouds up for a bit but once the filter cleaned things up the tank was sparkling clean. We found the fish and the scraper a new home but if you plan to keep yours a while I do recommend this tool for cleaning your tank.

EcoPlus Submersible Pump - 264 gph - 6.3 ft. max - 20W - 1/2 - 3/4 in. IDI built a homemade aeroponics system and am using this pump as a way to spray my roots. It works great and is creating a nice multi-stream spray that gets to my roots! Its also relatively quiet with nothing more than a little hum coming from it. The splashing water (in a good trickle sort of way) is heard more loudly than this pump working.

This is actually the 3rd EcoPlus I have purchased. The other two weren't as strong and since I'm going from the floor up about 5feet to my 40g aquarium I needed it to have a decent output up that kind of incline. I haven't been disappointed. I attach a garden hose, put the pump in my aging tank of water, put the other end of the hose into the aquarium and plug it in. It does a really nice job and I highly recommend it for this type of use.

I have a Zoo Med Turtle Tub kit, and in about 18 months I've already had two of the motors in the canister filter die on me. It's now out of warranty, so instead of spending another $70 or so on a whole new filter, I picked this one up and mounted it in the tank. It can be run in-line, but I didn't have another tube of the correct size for that. I may do that later on.

This pump has been great so far (about 2 weeks). It pushes the water significantly better than the built-in pump the Zoo-Med filter had and keeps the water cleaner.

R-Zilla SRZ100011546 Fresh Air Screen Cover with Center Hinge for Pet Cages, 36-3/8 by 12-3/4-Inch, BlackI prefer the center hinge over the screens withe little access doors. I thought they would be more convenient by not having to move my lights when access the terrarium. The little doors are just that though little. The center hinge makes maintenance and feeding much simpler. It is also much easier to remove a wriggling lizard with the center hinge screen. The only thing I don't like is that they never seem to fit flush with the top of my aquarium. I have bought many screens by this manufacturer and they all need to be clamped down with those ugly screen locks to fit tight. They feel a little flimsy but I have never had a problem using light bulbs, infrared heating bulbs, or the ceramic heat lamps on top of these covers.

I was very disappointed when I searched my local pet supply stores for a screen lid for my new 30 gallon tank. To my surprise it seems like they have cut back in not only tank sizes but screens as well. I was in absolute need of this screen top because I have hermit crabs and they are escape artists. This screen lid fits PERFECTLY and allows me to wrap saran wrap and tape it around the screen lid (to increase humidity in the tank) as well as easy access with the screen hinge in the center. EcoTech Marine VorTech MP10 ES Propeller Aquarium Pump

EcoTech Marine VorTech MP10 ES Propeller Aquarium PumpI have a 40 gallon reef that has 1 mp10 and 1 Hydor K 750.

Simply put, this pump is awesome. It has five settings to choose from that changes the way the pump moves the water around.

-Constant speed: Puts out a steady constant stream of water

-Lagoon random: Used to simulate a low energy lagoon reef environment

-Reef Crest: Used to simulate a high energy reef crest environment

-Short Pulse

-Long Pulse

A couple of notes:

-The pump motor is attached on the outside of the aquarium to the 'wet side' of the machine that is in the aquarium. **Some reviewers have complained about the pump breaking or making a very loud sound. You MUST make sure the wet and the dry side of the MP10 are lined up properly before you run it full steam. I believe failure to do this will damage your pump. This is pretty straightforward but I spent a few minutes making sure they are properly lined up.

-The difference between the MP10 ES and the MP10 wES is that the wES models are capable of communicating with other MP10s in your tank allowing them to work in harmony together. If you are only planning to have one pump in your tank then I see no reason why you should get the wES model. Also, EcoTech allows you to upgrade anytime to the wES model by purchasing the wES controller from their website.

-The dial on the controller is used to set what level the pump should work at. For example, in reef crest the pump changes its speed constantly and randomly to simulate a reef environment. By turning the dial, you can set a maximum speed that the pump can reach while it is in a mode.

-Cleaning and taking apart the MP10 is a breeze. I simply dump it in vinegar over night and fresh RO/DI water the next day to get any slime off of it. Works well. The Dry side of the pump cannot be taken apart.

-The pump features a night mode that can be activated to operate at 50% speed for 10 hours at the same time every day until the pump loses its power. This is a great way to give your fish some sleep.

-In any of the modes, the main advantage of the pump is that it doesn't create a water tunnel that blows the water directly at an object in the aquarium but instead creates a random movement of water. This is great for corals that need lots of water movement but do not like to be hit with a water currently from one angle (which is what the Hydor does)

For more information make sure to look at the MP10 Manual which can be downloaded from the EcoTech website. I found it helpful to read it prior to making the decision to purchase the MP10.

This is an awesome pump. At first I was skeptical that it wouldn't be worth the price of purchase since it is $200+. However, seeing is believing and I see polyp extension on my LPS corals greater than ever before. I'm running a single MP10 on my 40 gallon mixed reef (LPS and SPS), and use the Lagoon setting at 75%. This pump moves plenty of water to keep the corals happy. My only regret is not buying this sooner.

I have a 95 gallon salt water coral reef tank. I use this power head to provide water movement that comes close to real varied currents in a reef. Using the Vortex MP 10 set to operate in the EcoSmart NTM (Nutrient Transport Mode) it does just what is says it will do. It moves all the junk in my tank around with a combination of pulses and power moves so that stuff goes out the over flow. For those that have problems with noise.. I can only imagine the didn't have it aligned right, which is as easy as pie. Mine performs PERFECTLY... I just followed the instructions.

I have owned this pump for a little over a year-about 16 months. I like the fact that this pump has a low profile inside my 25 gal cube reef tank. everything was fine until about a month ago when the motor(the dry side) starting making a loud grinding noise. spoke to customer service at ecotech and was told to send everything back to them. a few days later I was told I had to buy a new dry side motor unit. even though I asked several times as to what happened or caused this failure, I was not given any information. The warranty is 1 year and ecotech stuck to that. Needless to say given the cost of this pump it should have lasted longer than 16 months. at the very least it should have been repaired or replaced for free. I will be going with Koralia pumps and their new controller when this thing breaks again. and I'm sure it will. For the price of one ecotech I can set up two tanks with dual pumps and controllers and still have money left over for dinner! I own a couple of Koralia nanos already and these things just keep going.

LEDwholesalers 20 Inch LED Light Tube Light for Aquarium Moonlight 10-30 Volt DC, 2045bu

LEDwholesalers 20 Inch LED Light Tube Light for Aquarium Moonlight 10-30 Volt DC, 2045bu
  • Operating Voltage: 10 to 30 Volt AC/DC (requires separate power supply)
  • Ultra 30 Degree Angled LEDs for Full Coverage
  • Lightweight & Durable Aliminum Cover
  • Wide Angle LED for wide coverage
  • Low Heat, Ultra long led lifespan!

The light is very compact and bright. Unfortunately the design is cheap and LEDs are not cooled properly. Even if you power it at the lowest voltage rated (10V) and the strip is mounted on flat conductive surface, the LEDs will dim down very significantly after a few minutes of turning it ON. If you try powering it at 24V, LEDs will dim dow to about 10% of the initial light output in less than 30 s.

Not recommended.

I have an Red Sea Max 130D and wanted more of the blue actinic look for when the main compact fluorescents were not turned on (the standard moon lights that comes with the tank are two wimpy small blue LEDs). This light bar fits in light housing perfectly! I had to wire it to a DC wall adapter, but even the most novice electrician can do this (some electrical tape, wire stripper, scissors, and crimp connectors some shrink tubing if you want to get fancy) and then screw the two mounting brackets in to the metal light deflector. The light is the perfect wavelength (453) to get the fluorescent colors of the coral to pop the also give a nice shimmer on the sand bed and do not have a spotlight effect. the light is FAR brighter than i expected (which is a good thing for the application i wanted) If you are going with a smaller tank (

Como Green Lifelike Three Leaf Clover Plant Plastic Water Grass Decoration 2" for Fish Tank

Como Green Lifelike Three Leaf Clover Plant Plastic Water Grass Decoration 2' for Fish Tankit's really cute and if you angle it right, it becomes an instant hideout...well for my feeder guppies it does. the cory cats squeeze themselves between the leaves and the bottom gravel...the only thing that i'm meh about is the "glue"...it's not as camouflaged as i thought it would be...but no one is complaining.

Set of 3 Alfie Lifestyle Aquarium Decor - Aquascaping Plant Ornament - Color: Green, Size: 8" Tall

Set of 3 Alfie Lifestyle Aquarium Decor - Aquascaping Plant Ornament - Color: Green, Size: 8' TallThis product looks great in my betta tanks. The only thing is the end of the leaves are like rakes. They have split my bettas' tails and I've had to pull them out of the tank. That is my own fault for ordering a plastic plant though.

Jellyfish Art Desktop Jellyfish Tank, 3-Pack

Jellyfish Art Desktop Jellyfish Tank, 3-PackI was so excited to buy this tank and raise jellyfish with my special education class. The tank itself is cute, but the 3 semi-dead jellies that arrived 8 hours later than promised, in a box labeled "perishable", but with NO indication that there were living things inside, was heartbreaking. The living rock was a joke, the substrate MUCH too big, and tank levels were IMPOSSIBLE to stabilize regardless of how many water changes. This was the biggest waste of money I've ever spent! I only gave it 1 star because it would't allow me to post with none checked.

So I've had aquariums for around 30 years, I grew up raising and caring for fish, i've dealt with desktop tanks and tanks that were 200 gallons. I have a few exotic reptiles as pets, and I've managed to keep cats and dogs alive for year and years with no problem. I feel that I'm a pretty experienced pet owner.

this tank is cheaply made, like suuuuuuper cheaply made. I spoke to someone who designs fishtanks and they said it was about the lowest grade acrylic you can use, though whether this is true or not is up for debate I suppose...though using an acrylic specific brush on the tank (and using it lightly) managed to do irreparable cosmetic damage. it looked like i'd taken a rake to the side of the tank.

the "live rock" is not live rock, it's glass or some other substance with divots in it that will eventually supposedly harbor bacteria, but it's not actual live rock, and the bacteria that gets fostered in there is NOT the stuff you want in your tank (i had a friend do lab tests on the water from another JFA tank as they are a biochemist so we went a couple steps beyond a traditional water testing kit and the water was not healthy since it ends up full of waste products from the jellies, and the snails and crabs you are encouraged to buy that are actually even MORE detrimental to the jellyfish).

the jellyfish i got were quite small and seemingly unhealthy. they died or shrank quickly, if they were not sucked into the aeration tube and shredded to death (this is in fact a very VERY common complaint) watching them die was heartbreaking and after multiple attempts (since i assumed the first time might have been the result of user error). in addition, the first set of crabs/snails i got were completely crushed before they even got to my house.

customer service was not helpful as their only suggestion was to change the water, something I did religiously until after my 4th go I threw out the tank as I could not bear to kill any more animals.

All said and done I probably spent close to a thousand dollars trying to modify the tank so that it could sustain life, and it could not, and can not.

Jellyfish are -veryhard to keep in captivity, especially in a tank that has no real filtration system...even moreso when you're dealing with a very small tank as the smaller the tank, the more volatile the environment.

I think the LED is very pretty, the design of the tank is decent, but this is something that should only be purchased by experienced aquarium owners, and even then with the caveat that this will be a LOT of work.

Since the system lacks a filter, water changes are something you'll have to do 1 or 2 times at week AT LEAST, since jellyfish are 97% water and are extremely sensitive to their environment. the aeration

We are former JFA customers. We made three attempts at keeping jellies. They all shrunk and JFA consistently gave two answers when we contacted them do a 20% water change and feed more. The third, and final time we had JFA jellies they shrunk again. Only when I became utterly exasperated with their 'water change/feed more' answer did they suggest regularly adding a few drops of Phytofeast and/or live food. Now I think they're telling customers all the time to feed live food had they simply acknowledged this at the onset (instead of pushing their frozen food and reassuring customers this was the only food required) I would never have purchased jellies since I wasn't interested in starting a brine shrimp hatchery in my house. Nevertheless, because I already had them and they were dying/shrinking with JFA frozen food I had to start hatching brine shrimp. Finally, with live food one jelly grew large and normal looking. But, this was only after it had mated with another jelly which resulted in orange polyps covering every surface of the tank. (I asked about the possibility of mating before I bought them and was assured this couldn't happen. Also, polyps reproduce independently, so when these show up there's no way of getting rid of them unless the tank is completely broken down, cleaned out, and re-started.) At this point, we overlooked the orange mess because we were happy that after all our effort at least one was surviving. According to JFA it's ok to leave jellies alone for a weekend, if needed. We did that and came home to find this beautiful jelly in shreds from the bubble tube. After so much time, effort, expense, and frustration with poor customer service we decided we'd had enough and took down the tank.

I was full heartedly going to buy this product and then I went on yelp and read the horrifying reviews and what they are saying is totally true... You need more than simple mechanics for this product to work which is not offered ... Your better off spending the $1000 yes 1k on a moderate salt water tank and getting healthy fish than dealing with a company like that. I'm a experienced not pro salt water enthusiast and it breaks my heart to hear how people are getting ripped off... Your choice please do research for 15mins than spending $100's on a disappointment
