A 3-star so far, because I haven't set this up yet, but out of the box it looks absolutely beautiful. It arrived on time, in perfect looking condition,(I hope there's no leak). The acryllic was clean and the blue cobalt , gives it a built-in background of color. I'll update later. Updating...to five stars. I finished setting up my aquarium today. My tank looks absolutely fabulous. The tank is sound (thank God), no leaks, and no scratches. I love the clean rounded edges, and the blue cobalt background enhances the accessories I put in.The filter, heater, and air hose all have pre cut sections which makes placements so much more organized and easier. An all-around well designed, and built tank. I'm going to enjoy this one.I absolutely love my acrylic aquarium. The rounded edges look great. Trees are super glued on, even though it's not that big of a deal.Dimensions are 17.7" * 8.7" * 11.2.
Still looks fantastic in my 20 gallon tank.
I think this is a beautiful well made product for the price which is a great value.
I put it in my 45 Gallon Tank.
My only caveat is that if you have fish that like to hide, like my pleco, you will only see them at feeding time.
That is why I took the ornament out and saving it for a 65 gallon tank that I am getting in the near future with fish that will swim through it but will not hide all the time.

I was really excited to get this for my 55 gallon aquarium. It arrived with one of the masts broken, but after contacting the seller a replacement was promptly shipped out. I've had this ship in my aquarium for almost a year and it's got a lot of spots where the paint is flaking off to reveal what looks like resin underneath. I expected this to hold up better over time than it has.The pirate shipwreck I purchased is very nice. I like the idea of two pieces so you can position them how you want.It looks like an old shipwreck with the washed looking color, makes it looks like it's been down in the ocean
for a long time. I have my Pirate statues scattered around it and some plants. Good size for my 55 gallon tank.

Hydor Koralia Evolution Aquarium Circulation Pump
I have bought three of these over the past year and have been impressed by all of them. Unless you plan to spend $200-$400 a piece for the eco-tec units, this is a darn good value. They may not have all the bells and whistles like other models, but they are dead quiet, and when I say dead quiet, I mean that with everything else off in my reef tank, I have to put my ear four inches from the water to hear it running. It also provides a broad current, which is desirable, as opposed to a concentrated jet. Is it the absolute best model on the market? No. Is it the best value? In my opinion, yes it is. For anyone on a budget, these are the way to go. Oh, and when you put it on the tank, it stays put! Most models I have seen have had a tendency to "walk" down the glass over time (these do not). 125 Gallon glass mixed reef tank.PROs:more powerful than powerheads that blow a jetstream
agitates water surface yet doesn't blow my sugar fine sized aragonite sand around (I hate getting sand dunes where eventually I'd see the glass/acrylic bottom of my tank).
magnet holder
medium length cord
low 4.5 watts
CONs:
Starts in reverse then I'd unplug it and plug it back in then it works.
kind of big compared to Ecotech Vortech MP10 and Aqueon powerheads
doesn't blow as powerful or as wide as my SEIO m820 powerhead
isn't as adjustable at right-angles like the SEIO m820
I bought 2. One is working great after 9 months. The other started buzzing from the motor after 3 weeks.
7/1/2013 update: the magnetic impeller cracked after 2 years but you can buy a replacement on Amazon or call up Hydor for a free replacement. I've dropped my rating from 4 stars to 3 due to reliability issue.

Wow. Ive had this for 2 days and come away super impressed. Casts a wide spread that works perfectly in my 55 gallon saltwater tank. A powerhead will seem puny compared to this if you're using it for water movement. At the same time, because of the wide spread, it's not overly powerful in any way. Build quality seems super sturdy and it's super quiet as well.Read Best Reviews of Hydor Koralia Evolution Aquarium Circulation Pump Here
I was not sure if this would work as a standalone unit but in my freshwater 70 gallon tank the fish have changed behavior over night. Great price, fast delivery and worked as stated.Want Hydor Koralia Evolution Aquarium Circulation Pump Discount?
I bought this to replace an old power sweep model that came with my used setup but tried to eat my sand sifting star (which I luckily saved from imminent doom). the combo magnet/suction is fantasitc, the ball joint is great, plus the head can be removed from the mount easily for quick cleaning. it moves water very will without the jet effect that other styles give, nicely dispersed flow.My only regret is that I wish I'd bought a 1050 instead of a 550 because I'm upgrading to a larger tank in a couple months.
Python Brass Adapter for Aquarium
Cleaning my aquarium is much easier with this product and and the brass adapter is very durable and resists stripping. If I had known that Python now ships with a brass adapter I wouldn't have ordered one bowever it's always good to have a back up and I keep it for my tanks that are on a different level of the house.Python has been around for just about as long as I've been keeping fish which is over 35 years. I haven't used one in decades but decided to get a new one and check out the improvments. Not much has changed but the brass adapter is a major step up from the old plastic one. Those wouldn't last very long, the threads would strip away entriley after a few uses an the seal was never complete enough to stop water from spraying everyplace but it STILL beat carrying around those buckets!
This adpater is pretty universal and should fit most any faucet. Theres amale and female side, if you have a diffuser or water saver on your faucet simply remove it and pop this one in and you're good to go.

I've had this item a long time before I wrote this review. The stone weights that keep it in the soil have not fallen off. The plants stayed connected to the weights! Over time, algae has grown on the leaves, making the false plants look even more lifelike. They are really good aquarium toys. Sturdy and realistic.Just received my order today, and what can i say i was very pleased with my selection, these are the most beautiful plants that i own now, they were a little bigger than what i expected, the base is attached to a pretty rock that hold it in place in the gravel,i would recommend them to anyone looking for that real look in the aquarium. UPDATE-i really wanted to like these plants but overtime i begin to struggle with algae outbreaks in my tank and sadly had to remove them and switch to plastic the algae is extremely hard to remove from these plants so i had to take away two of the five star rating will not purchase again.Buy Vibran-Sea Broad Leaf Flowering Cluster Aquarium Plant Assortment Now
I purchased this item for my new 44 gal tank only a few months ago. At first it looked great and colors were fabulous. But after only a short period of time it is falling apart. Major segments of the plastic stem detached and were floating at the top of the tank. Also algae growth is very difficult to remove from the leaves.I do not think there is anything extraordinary with my tank and my fish are not overly active or aggressive. But I do think this is a poor product and (for the cost) a poor value.

These plants are beautiful and they look very real in the water. Aqueon LED Aquarium Light Fixture, 48-Inch
Amongst the LEDs I've seen for fish tank this is the cheapest option for the size and I must say its GREAT.What got me to buy this light is the fact that you can change the bulbs something I haven't seen in other brands, don't know if they work well with plants (will update in a month) but so far they are really bright and love the fact that you can switch to moonlight (can't do it by timer but not an issue for me).
Another good thing is that you can adjust the length of the stands, my tank is not standard size so 30" is to small and 48 is too big, but I adjust it and it looks fine.
The LED are encased in a plastic tube so the water wont get close to it (I still advise to close your tank if possible mine doesn't have a hood, I just use glass to cover it)
The light creates a nice shimmering effect.
I would recommend this light for anyone on a low budget. Is it better than regular bulbs? I have no idea as I never used one but at least its friendly on the electric bill
UPDATE: I promise I will update to tell you how this light works for plants and my egeria densa has grown 6 inches in 4 days, my java moss has spread like crazy through the driftwood it was planted on. So this light is appropriate for plants and I only have a single bulb, I imagine you would need the other two if your tank is too deep but as far as an LED for plants this is clearly the way to goI own this model and the 20" model, both purchased from PetsMart in the Spring/Summer of 2012. Can't say enough good about them, but that's not why I'm writing.
Soon after purchase, I learned that Aqueon had gone out of business. More specifically, that the PetsMart parent company had purchased Aqueon and planned to make their products exclusive to Petsmart stores. This bummed me out simply b/c I don't put much faith into PetsMart. For months, I scoured the nets looking for (red) Colormax LED bulbs to no avail. And every time I'd go to PM looking for bulbs, they were always sold out. I was about to put these awesome lights up for sale due simply to the fear of not being able to maintain/repair/replace them. Then, 2 days ago, I stumbled upon this page. I can't express how happy that made me.
Rejoice! Take advantage of an absolutely fine product and support it so that we can keep it around for a good while. You don't know how close we all came to not even having this innovative light as an option.
And they are great lights. 3 (daylight spectrum) bulbs, in any size frame, is almost enough light to land commercial aircraft. I run one of the lamps (with 3 bulbs) over an open top and I have no water issues b/c the LED's are sealed in tubes. I just clean the tubes along with every maintenance session. The frame is a bit bulky (not as bulky as a standard hood and light strip), but that's a fair trade for the modularity offered. The mounting feet work well, the power cord is segmented to make removal even easier, the 48" model basically weighs nothing. The ONLY drawback is the design of the power switch, which makes it useless on a timer outside of simple on/off function. The blue LED must be manually switched on. Again, small price to pay for a great and affordable light.

We bought this light for our 150 gallon tank to replace our old florescent tube light fixture. We had gotten tired of dealing with the alge that the old light created. This light is great it creates a nice white light and after two weeks no alge. We especially like the night light feature we can still see the fish but its a nice soft glow.Read Best Reviews of Aqueon LED Aquarium Light Fixture, 48-Inch Here
I have a 55g and this fits perfect over the tank. Three bulbs are installed in it; Two white and one red. Next time, I might buy one additional red but this coloring is very nice and not too bright either. The night light was not a selling feature but after having it, it is very cool!I removed the sliding arms because it caused the fixture to sit up off of the tank causing glare from the lids. The light now sits close enough that we do not notice. I do not have much of a shimmer, possibly because there isn't a strong surface disruption or maybe because the lights sits so close to the water surface.I purchased this light and an additional colormax bulb. With the two bulbs this is easily twice as bright as a standard fluorescent bulb and still uses less electricity. There is still room to expand by adding one more bulb but I think that might be overkill for my cichlid tank. I have anubias that are thriving in the tank which grew pretty well under just the included daylight bulb. I would recommend this over the standard strip light. This is well worth the extra initial cost.
Coralife 05373 Aqualight Mounting Legs, Clear
These legs fit great on my 24 inch aqualight. Please note they do not fit on my aqualight mini.I highly recommend these legs for anyone who owns a coralife aqualight other than the mini. I got this item as shown, and it was a bit of a process getting them attached to my Coralife fixture. Once I had them screwed in I had to find a way to space them just so on the fixture as not to off set the lighting from the tank or allow it to fall into the water. I had two people to help my properly seat the mounting legs so the hugged the tank and then tighten them into place. Even after everything was erected the mounts came loose and became very wobbly.

I ordered these after noticing the format of the mounting leg attachment.I recently purchased online (at a "Bidding" site) a 4-bulb T5 fixure, that had a hinge-type (swing up) mount.
Unfortunately, I was saddened to find I was unable to use that style mount, due to my use of a sliding-glass lid setup.
The supplied hinge/light support required an overlapping of the tank rim, to attach on the inside of the tank.
Upon researching for a hinge solution, I noticed that these mounted in the same style horizontal track, that runs accross the front and back of the light fixture housing.
These legs fit those style fixtures perfectly!
If your fixture has these "dove-tail" slots approx. 1/4" wide.....these are your option!
BOOOM!...end of a issue!

Without reviewing the light system, because that is not what we are talking about here and can all agree that hi-end lighting is the best.As far as the leg supports: For four pieces of molded plastic, and four metal inserts to hold lighting for some systems that may cost in excess of $300 these are crappola!
We understand that when you clean your tank and remove the lighting system you must be careful however, if you are not being perfectly careful these things will crack. The metal inserts are far from perfect, and the screws that hold the metal in place with the legs are ever so small.
The light system needs to be supported on these units there either has to be a better way to support the unit, or the support system needs to be revamped.
I suggest that if you found a better way to support the unit put it online. We would all appreciate the advice.

I got this from PetCo nearby, and chose it from among the options there because:1) it's easy to read
2) has both F and C readings (I want my 7-yo daughter to learn about both scales)
3) i like the idea of a thermometer that sits in the water instead of one that's stuck to the outside of the glass
I have an Aqueon 20-gallon aquarium, and I was worried when I bought it that it wouldn't fit on the lip of the tank. I was right! The lip of the tank, with its black plastic trim, is too wide for this thermometer to hang there.
However, I found the perfect place to put it, using the black plastic lid that came with the aquarium. The back corner of the lid has a slot cut out of it (I imagine for routing a power cable), and this thermometer hangs perfectly through that slot.
Laguna Pressure-Flo 3200 UVC Filter
I have owned this filter for about three years and run it 24/7. The difference it made in my pond clarity was like night and day. I can actually see my fish again!! The UV 25 watt lamp replacement is spendy and I go through at least one a year but it is well worth it. When the lamp burns out, my pond does not take long to tell me, as the clarity soon deteriates. I recently discovered the backwashing function did not seem to be effective any longer but finally figured out the foam filters which are scrubbed in the cleaning process shrink over time and no longer make contact with the scrubbing blades. Replacements are now on the way. Living in Montana, I am forced to move fish and filtration system into my garage in the winter but I have found this easy to do. Highly recommend this product to anyone who cares about keeping healthy, clear water in their pond!Laguna Pressure-Flo 3200 UVC FilterI have a 700-800 gallon koi pond and I purchased this to replace my last filter that died after 5 years. This filter was cheaper, and did a far better job. This summer I had no problems with algae at all, the UV worked as advertised. Additionally, the filters are incredibly easy to clean using the backwash feature. Considering the ease of maintenance and overall performance of this system I would definitely purchase it again. As an added bonus this item was HUNDREDS of dollars cheaper then at the local aquaculture store. Be sure to read specs many manufacturers seem to change the names of some identical products.Buy Laguna Pressure-Flo 3200 UVC Filter Now
I brought the Laguna Pressure-Flo 3200 UVC along with the Laguna Max-Flo 2900 Electric Waterfall and Pump because I thought I was getting the best. I spent $500 for both. And because I spent that kind of money, we hired a electrician to run electric underground and mounted outlets by the pond. It took over a month to get this done and find the right flexible hose to connect both. Before I even got a chance to plug them into the outlet, I went to connect the intake hose to the filter and it cracked!!! I plugged them both into the electric outlet and water was shooting out!!! $350!!! I was desperate. I put Gorilla Glue and eventually bought a can of rubber spray to seal the crack. I called Hagen, who manufactures the Laguna products, to complain about the poor quality of their product. (If you look at the picture of the filter you'll see how thin the side intake area is compared to the outtake area and the area that dispenses the waste. Oh no, you can't see it because it is on the right side.) Their reply was "We do not cover that. Do you want to make a formal complaint?" He gave me an email address.I was able to find a replace lid from a company online for $40, but I'm trying to make due with what I have. It looks ugly. Unfortunately, in the last four days I've went in the back yard to find an empty pond. The hose keeps coming off the filter. I connected the hoses to the attachments that came with filter. First time I had electrical tape to try and secure it. Second time I had a clamp screwed in tight. It still came off!!! My husband helped me put an additional clamp on both using an power drill to make sure they are secure. I'm so paranoid. I keep looking out the window to see if there is water in the pond. Fortunately, the pump is still working!!!
Would I recommend this filter to anyone??? NO!!! I almost have my mind made up that if it disconnects again to just buy a skimmer or just connect the pump to a waterfall attachment and count the loss. We shall see. By the way, when it is connected the pond is nice and clear. But just the problem of worrying about it leaking where it cracked and the hose disconnecting is too much!!
Signed,
Very Disappointed

Update Well, the Gorilla Glue and rubber spray finally gave way. Fortunately, I had ordered the replacement lid from Amazon for $29. Thank you Amazon!!! Was able to transfer everything over to the new lid. I was shock on how the flow of the waterfall is so much stronger now. I finally go my pond the way I want it. No thanks to Laguna!!!

After 6 months or so the filter foam elements shrink and the cleaning blades become ineffective. Also somehow mud bypasses the foam elements and settles in the bottom. In order to get it working, filter elements are to be replaced and filter cleaned on a regular basis. This is expensive and time consuming. I am replacing it with a filter but without foam elements, and the biospheres can be back washed.Want Laguna Pressure-Flo 3200 UVC Filter Discount?
We purchased this UVC filter thinking we were getting one of the best on the market. It did a great job of reducing the algae in our koi pond within a few days. Things went great until we put it away for the winter. We VERY carefully disassembled everything and packed it away with cushioning. In the spring, we carefully inspected and reassembled everything. Once it was running, we quickly realized the UVC light wasn't working as the algae was getting the best of the pond. I ordered a new replacement bulb thinking it was regular maintenance and per the owner's manual. The algae got worse, so I took the thing apart again. The bulb was clearly blown--black smudges near the connectors. I ordered a new bulb and consulted the owner's manual. I did the wet test as per the book and found there was water inside the quartz sleeve, which obviously blew the bulb. Now I have to find someplace to get it fixed, or I can buy a new head assembly for eighty bucks.
Boo! I wish I'd bought a different style of UVC light, which was all we really needed.
Marineland PA0401 Aqua-Timer with 24-hr Cycle, Grounded
I was using these timers to control my 9W UV sterilizer and T5 HO lights. The timer with the UV sterilizer caught fire. I have posted some pictures in the customer image section. I am really fortunate that my house did not burned down due to this incident. But there was soot everywhere and it took us hours to clean this up. And the burned plastic smell lingered around the house for days. And my poor wife, who did most of the cleaning, complained of sore throat for couple of days. When I contacted Marineland about this incident, they told me that they would gladly replace the timers but nothing more. You have to be kidding me. If you decide to buy one of these, make sure you have at least a smoke detector near the fish tank.I have just started to use this timer, and I see from some of the reviews that there is a quality control issue that is possibly a problem. I will report later on it after I have used it awhile. But first impressions out of the box are a full 5 stars. I will also say that am I not using it for an aquarium purpose, but instead to run a fractional horsepower domestic hot water circulating pump in my house. The three pronged grounded outlet, and relatively high amperage rating of 15 amps enables this device to be used for a much greater load than aquarium lights, so with the excellent design of the face and plug-in receptacles, I decided to use it for my hot water circulator.I was first impressed with the layout of the plugs and timer face. It is very well thought out and the timer can be inserted into an electrical outlet without encroaching on the other outlets. The next feature that I appreciated was the use of highly visible black markings with a very crisp font against a white face. This makes reading and setting the timer the easiest I have ever encountered. The "time of day" indicator is a bold black triangle which is highly visible. In addition to clearly showing the times of day on the universal 0-24 scale, it also shows the night time hours as shaded for additional clarity, and has a large directional arrow to tell you which way the dial is rotating. This, and the time of day marker, are visible on the face of the dial from some distance.
Time increments are 15 minutes, and are set on or off by depressing small gray tangs which are located around the rotating clock face. The tangs are very easy to set with a pointed object like a pen, and have a large range of movement when depressed, so again, very easy to see what times you have selected. With the 15 minute interval between tangs, you could conceivably have many on-off cycles per day (one every 15 minutes), or as few as 2, or none. It also has a manual override switch on the top, which enables the user to bypass the clock feature and have it always "on".
Which brings me to the only thing so far that I do not like about this timer the marking on the manual override switch on the top. The switch slides between the right and the left, and when moved to the right it reveals a symbol of clock, and to the left a symbol of solid black line (presumably for a completed circuit to be always on). But when the switch is moved to the right and the clock symbol is displayed, the timer is actually on a manual "always on" setting. To the left with the continuous line displayed, the timer operates on the time clock. So the markings are exactly opposite from what the user would expect. I will fix this by marking the sliding switch with a permanent marker to indicate which state it is in.
The timer has a UL stamp, which means is has undergone strict testing in a lab for electrical safety, but of course this is no absolute guarantee against poor quality control from the manufacturer.
On balance, and for the price, I would highly recommend this product.
UPDATE, June 3, 2011: The timer has now been in use for some time now, and has performed flawlessly. No problems to report, and the above review comments still stand.
UPDATE, February 12, 2012: No problems, review comments still stand.

My experience could be a rare one, but each of the four timers I bought constantly shut off. These timers work with pressure switches instead of toggle switches, so there must be constant pressure on the switch to engage the electricity and turn on the light/pump/whatever. On the center rotating piece, there are little pins, each indicating 15 minutes of "on" time when they are pushed down. In my situation, each of the pins that I pushed down wiggled a lot. They all did this, so I thought nothing of it. Anyway... as the timer ran, and the center timer rotated, rubbing the 'engaged' (pushed down) pins it somehow wiggled the pins apart just enough to disengage and turn my light off. EVERY 15 MINUTES! It would eventually turn itself back on, but only after about 10 minutes, and after about 15 more minutes, it would do it again for ten minutes. It keeps time well, which is unusual for inexpensive timers, but it just wouldn't stay on for me. I will be returning and expect a full refund (as is consistent with Amazon return service).Como Fish Tank Aquarium 7" Green Air Diffuser Tube Bubble Wall

No local shops carry this wood, and after searching online for some for our two fish tanks we ran across these at a great price. They shipped quick, and are very nice looking in the tanks. Our pleco's love them, as well as the cat fish like to hide underneath them, after we propped one side up with some rocks. To remove a lot of the tannin, clean the sink out, and place wood in sink. Boil water enough to cover the wood, let sit until water cools. Repeat this a few times until the water is mostly clear after cooling.I ordered the Zoo Med Mopani wood in size medium from Entirely Pets. It was supposed to be 10-12" long, but when it came it was 20" long! I will have to saw it in half to fit my tank. No fault on Entirely Pets part as the tag put there by Zoo Med said size medium. Since the photo that accompanies this item is always the same, I thought I'd tell you what mine looks like. It is orange tone on top and chocolate on the bottom. The width varies from 2 1/2" to 4" and the top is rounded with a flat, almost hollowed-out bottom. So, if you wanted to angle it across your aquarium from the top, you'd probably want to keep the back to the back of the tank. There is a nice knot at one end of the main root and two smaller roots crossing at the other. There are plenty of small holes and protuberances for fish, snails, and freshwater shrimp to explore for food.
I can't speak to the leaching part, because I haven't placed it in the tank yet.
Much, much later: boil the heck out of this for two hours and then soak for weeks to get the tannins mostly out or it will stain your water whiskey brown and maybe lower the pH a bit. If you have an open top aquaria and let some of the wood stick out you will notice that the wood in the water actually gets a lot less orange than that part sticking out of the water. Do not let wood stick out of water if you have a hood. The humidity causes fuzzy mold problems on the wood. Do not use in brackish water tanks as mine rotted within two weeks in one. It really stunk up the tank for weeks then (boggy smell).

I am getting ready to buy three more pieces of this mopani wood for my new tank. I purchased a small piece for my firzt tank, a ten gallon, and I was very pleased. I was nervous buying online because I could not choose the shape, but I think that because this is a real piece of wood, no matter what it is going to look natural, because, well, it's nature!! The colors are beautiful, copper and red, to light and dark brown. I had read that mopani wood wouldn't rot like driftwood, but would leach color into the tank and while it wouldn't be bad for the fish, could be displeasing to look at. Not wanting to deal with tinted water for weeks, and not wanting to wait weeks to soak it outside my tank, I decided to boil my wood. I boiled my piece for about an hour and a half, changing the water every fifteen minutes or so. After several water changes, the water was coming out much lighter. There was still a little color in the cooking water when I decided to move the wood into my tank, but I never noticed any difference in my tank water's color so enough must have boiled out at that point. I also noticed that the color seemed enriched after the boiling, but I think this is because I used a gas stove and didn't flip the wood. The bottom of the piece was significantly darker than the rest of the wood, so I think the direct heat from the flame inderneath may have started to burn the tannins or something. I liked how it looked, but you may want to flip yours to prevent this, should you try boiling it. I have not noticed any slime, or pests.... but this could also be from the boiling. Long story short, I suggest boiling. Seems to have a lot of advantages, and I already have a "Fish Pot" laying around from my regular maintanece, so I didn't have to ruin my good cookware. (Not that it would have... I see no staining on the pot) Did I mention that it looks great in my tank with a few stones and plants, and that my fishies love it?Read Best Reviews of Zoo Med African Mopani Wood, Medium (Sizes May Vary) Here
We bought this for our 50 gallon and its a beautiful piece of hard wood! That being said we did place ours into a big kettle of boiling water turn off the flame and let it steep till cool to remove some of the natural tannins..upon reflection we should have done this at least twice because it did indeed cause our water to have a slight tea colored tinge to it after a couple of weeks. A change of charcole and a %20 water change restored our crystal clear water again, however it is beginnning to look a little tea colored again but not nearly as much. I suspect it will be gone completely after the next change down the road. Placing the wood in the boiling water also has the benefit of sterilizing it as well! I do not regret buying this it is a very interesting addition to our tank.Want Zoo Med African Mopani Wood, Medium (Sizes May Vary) Discount?
I ordered a medium piece for my small planted tank and I am extremely happy with it. The piece is about 14"x8"x5" and has beautiful dark and light tones. It has twisted branches and roots poking out. (My cory catfish love it!)Before I stuck it in my tank, I boiled the piece for about an hour and then soaked it for a week in a bucket. The wood still made my water tea colored, but it is not too bad, and is getting less noticeable as the weeks pass.
I did not have any issues with fuzzy growth, like other reviewers mentioned. (Maybe because I boiled and pre-soaked it?)
All in all, I am very happy with the log I got, and would definitely purchase again.
One final note, the medium piece is a little large for my 6.5 gallon tank. I had to do a bit of cutting and chopping to make it fit right in my tank. A 10gal+ tank would be better suited for the piece I received. (Every piece is different, so your results may vary!)

It works only if you can figure out how to work it with limited instruction. It took me about 5 minutes to figure out that if you turn it to a 45 degree angle while the bag is submerged the suction will kick in. after the initial turn you can use it at whatever angle you wish. However if you just leave it at a 90 degree angle it wont work at all. Besides that minor issue don't shake it around as illustrated in the only crude diagram or the housing tube will fall off. If you use it in a blotting motion it works great. Hopefully this will help.poor design, tube falls out all the time or hits motor, total waste of money do not buy this productBuy Aquarium Battery Syphon Auto Fish Tank Vacuum Gravel Water Filter Cleaner Washer Now
