Marina Economy Algae Scrubber

Marina Economy Algae ScrubberI bought this scrubber to clean my glass and acrylic aquariums, it works fine on the glass surface, but when i tried to clean the acrylic I immediately noticed a large amount of scratches all over it. I don't know why they sell it for both glass and acrylic, because of my experience i only recommend it to use on glass aquariums.

It beats the magnetic scrapper in my opinion.

More control. Small glass tanks it can reach without hands getting wet. I recommend it.

Aqueon Circulation Pump

Aqueon 06133 Circulation Pump, 950 GPH, 6.3-WattI bought this to blow the debris that started accumulating on the fine sand substrate in our 30 gallon tank. I run it on a cheap Harbor Freight mechanical timer so it will go on occasionally for a little bit as running all the time it was waaaay too powerful for the tank, creating dunes in the sand and overpowering the fish. But as an occasional "stir up" to keep the tank crystal clear, this pump works great. Now instead of fish poop, uneaten food, and other little bits littering the bottom of the tank and needing vacuuming the tank stays looking pristine with no action.

Great little pump. It provides a wide, thorough flow throughout the tank and consumes an unbelievably low amount of power. It's also dead silent. The mount keeps it well in place. I suppose the only criticism I may offer is that the mounting system is not magnetic like a Koralia and therefore the pump takes up a bit more space as a result. No biggie, this is a really nice pump.

Buy Aqueon Circulation Pump Now

a bit bulky, but this thing is POWERFUL! Put it in my 75g saltwater tank & it was night & day...tons of waterflow now. The suction cup works nicely & the joint allows it to pivot nicely. Makes the water in the tank circulate throughout nicely. Might even be too powerful..the zooanthids were a little shocked by the fast flow.

I purchased two of these for my 180 gallon salt water tank. The flow is very good and with two pumps, it produced a lot of flow in my 180 gallon. I am giving it 3 stars because after 3 months, one of the pump has a broken swivel neck. The part that the pump connects to the suction cup and pivots broke and the pump just hangs limp now.

Best pump for the money hands down!..u don't need to spend an insane amount of money to move water..too many people buy these expensive pumps like koralia, and they are no better..I've had them, and I assure u they are not any different..

Farm Innovators P-500 Premium Cast Aluminum Submergible Pond De-Icer, 500-Watt

Farm Innovators P-500 Premium Cast Aluminum Submergible Pond De-Icer, 500-WattI have a 35 gallon plastic container that I use as a patio pond. I keep a couple of goldfish in it. The Patio Pond

De-icer works well with this small container.I have had sucess with my fish surviving through the winter. I cut back my hardy plants, dropping them to the bottom of the container and they survive the winter as well without freezing. The only draw back is that the ring will get deposit build-up and needs to be cleaned peroidically.

I have had three of these heaters. They work fine for two seasons then they short and blow the GFI.

Every spring they are coverd with slime and crud that takes scrubbing with a wire brush to clean.

I need to find something that lasts.

Perfecto Fluorescent Oak Hexagon Hood 14Gal

Perfecto Fluorescent Oak Hexagon Hood 14GalI had to buy a replacement hood for my very old hexagon aquarium and this is the perfect replacement. My aquarium is around 30 years old and made out of heavy glass. It's very pretty. My best friend's sleeve unknowingly got caught on the original hood, pulling it off the aquarium and crashing it onto the floor and shattering it. I was so pleased when I finally found this perfect replacement! The fit and the color are a perfect match to my aquarium! I LOVE IT!!

API Ammo-Lock Ammonia Detoxifier, 16-Ounce

API Ammo-Lock Ammonia Detoxifier, 16-OunceThis is a great product. It helped lower the ammonia in my tank very fast and saved my fish.. Highly recommended!!

Ammonia spikes are quite common in fish tanks and in mine they seem to be an every day issue. I have a bottle of Prime, as well as Ammo Lock and about once a week I'll put in a capful of the Ammo Lock. My water clears up and the spikes go away, so I have been impressed with this item. Don't overdo it though, because you don't want your fish dying from over-use. So far for me it's been doing the job just fine.

API Ammo-Lock Ammonia Detoxifier, 16-Ounce works great in my 55 gallon goldfish tank to decrease the ammonia level. Fish are happy & healthy. Definitely recommended!

Read Best Reviews of API Ammo-Lock Ammonia Detoxifier, 16-Ounce Here

This must be working despite the daily measured ammonia level in the "dangerous" range. Despite filters the ammonia level in our goldfish tank remains very high (to test strip measurements). However, the fish live as long as I add 10 cc of Ammo Lock to a 10 gallon tank daily.

Want API Ammo-Lock Ammonia Detoxifier, 16-Ounce Discount?

Ammo-Lock is hydromethane sulfinate, it converts ammonia to ammonium. Ammonium is harmless to fish at levels found in an aquarium, but is used the same as ammonia by your nitrifying bacteria. It is also seen the same as ammonia with test strips, which give horribly inaccurate results. Sooooooo . . . the instructions summarize this: Add "recommended dose" based on tank size, add every two days until ammonia levels read zero. Check out the back of the bottle in the store, I'm not kidding.

Here's the kicker, if you convert ammonia to ammonium, and you use API ammonia test kits to check for ammonia, your ammonia levels will be off the charts despite it being "harmless". So your only method of true test at that point would be nitrites or nitrates, which if the ammonia was breaking down to nitrites or nitrates you wouldn't be having issues with ammonia. So this product might work, but you will never actually know since you can't test for it.

Here's another factor that gives it 1 star, and I see others didn't have a problem.

After adding the recommended dose to my tank (55 gallon reef), I lost my brittle star of 5 years in 48 hours, and every mushroom and polyps I had freaked out, about 1/4 of them died after a few weeks. All I wanted to do was "control" the ammonia for some spikes I was having due to adding two fish, but water changes would have been much better.

Try a different product to control your ammonia spikes, or simply do water changes frequently until its under control. This product stinks in my opinion. Thanks Amazon for the refund!

Deep Blue Professional ADB80501 Mangrove Tree Root Synthetic Coral for Aquarium, 16 by 12-Inch

Deep Blue Professional ADB80501 Mangrove Tree Root Synthetic Coral for Aquarium, 16 by 12-InchA huge fan of Deep Blue aquarium decor for many years now I am always impressed by the detail work and accuracy, especially with their coral line. I own many of the extra large Staghorn and they receive more compliments than my fish! This replica of Mangrove is no exception.

One of my show tanks unavoidably gets indirect sunlight so algae, especially brown algae is a constant battle. Although you can bleach the coral back to a stark whiten tiresome over time and I was looking for something to replace it with. Although I didn't purchase this on Amazon I wish I had as this is significantly less expensive. Non the less, it's a piece worth having if it fits the decor of your tank and you like the look.

I'll be using bendable LED aeration wands underneath the piece for up lighting underneath this piece which will accomplish a few things. The light will cast shadows by illuminating the dark passageways between the roots and "lighten" the overall look of the piece, enhancing the superb and varied colors. The photographs of this Faux Mangrove root don't so it justice at all, and I've seen plenty of them. Rather then a monochrome gray the piece is lush with brown and greenish hues given great depth by black accents.

The size is true to scale as noted and the Large would be fine for most any tank 55 and up. Like most all Deep Blue products this is made of cold cast fresh and salt water safe resin. It's heavy and again, incredibly detailed. It looks EXACTLY like wood. The Deep Blue process as I understand it is that they start with a superior specimen and the artists re-create it to different scales. The look is sensational with absolute realism and you have the satisfaction of knowing our delicate reef and river systems haven't been compromised.

The piece is very stable and stands just fine with one support branch in the back and the front spread of branches and vines supporting the front. It can be used as a corner piece or centerpiece with absolute ease.

when it comes to any of these replicas by Deep Blue I know the price seems excessive. However these are NOT the cheap plastic or ceramic aquarium decorations you usually see. Rather these are very much works of art that will add incredible beauty, dramatic appeal and or interest to bot your tanks and their inhabitants.

Eshopps RS-100 Reef Sump - 75 to 125 gal.

Eshopps RS-100 Reef Sump - 75 to 125 gal.I originally ordered the RS-75 for my 65 gallon reef setup. After calculating the volume in gallons it was around 12.5 and I realized that it is just not enough space for effective filtration and a skimmer. I quickly cancelled the order and placed a new order for the Eshopps RS-100 sump. At 24" x 12" x 16" This has a volume of about 20 gallons... much better for a 65 gallon setup considering it was only $25 more for almost double the filtration space. Even though it is rated for 100-125 gallons I would say this is an overestimate. For these sumps, If you're on the fence about size, go the NEXT SIZE UP. Just make sure it will fit into your stand before you order it. Overall I really like the design. It arrived well packaged and all the seals checked out. It came with a 7" circular filter sock, a sponge to place in between the baffle to eliminate micro bubbles, and a 3ft corrugated hose with PVC attachments on the ends to fit a standard 1" bulkhead. I rinsed every part of it with R/O water before setting it up.

After filling the tank and running the sump with my Eheim Compact 3000 return pump (792 gal/hr @ 0' head height... mine runs @ 5' head height so i figure its around 450-550 gph) I noticed a lot more noise than I was used to. I removed the corrugated hose that it came with and replaced the hose with custom fit PVC sections. Instead of having water pooling in the hose and then releasing in one giant wave of water the overflow compartment on my tank now remains at a constant height. Problem solved?... Almost. The next step to achieving ultimate serenity was as another reviewer mentioned. Use an extra PVC pipe (mine was about a 7" extension) to slide into the bulkhead where the water enters the sump through the filter sock. Now, instead of hearing water splash down into the sump sounding like a torrential downpour it sounds like a small pot of water boiling. Trust me it is much quieter than having water raging in.

I filled my sump with 10-15 lbs live rock and 2 units of chemipure elite. My water parameters have been perfect since setup.

I would recommend this product to anyone looking for better filtration for their saltwater tank. That Fish PlaceThat Pet Place was very quick at providing me with an order cancellation and refund when I initially purchased the wrong size, I would also recommend this seller.

I would recommend this product. It meets my aquarium needs, I just wish it came with a extra micron filter sock.

EHEIM Everyday Fish Feeder Programmable Automatic Food Dispenser

EHEIM Everyday Fish Feeder Programmable Automatic Food DispenserI had tried some of the other auto feeders on the market that rotate constantly on a single AA battery clock mechanism. None of them worked for me.

I purchased this after a friend of mine had the same one on his tank for over 1.5 years. It has also worked beautifully for me too. The digital display is easy to set if you follow the instruction sheet.

I also like the fact that it has a manual feed button, so I can provide a feeding whenever I want to without disrupting the preset times.

I spent a lot of money on the cheaper units and after getting frustrated every time, I finally bought this one and couldn't be happier.

I own 3 Eheim Everyday Fish Feeders. They are also called air feeders due to a fan used to feed air into the food containter when it activates, to help keep the food fresh. I run a home aquaponics system and so have various tanks to raise fingerlings before they go into my aquaponics tanks. This feeder is the only unit I use for these indoor tanks, though I use a professional US made super-feed feeder in my outdoor grow tank.

I highly recommend the Eheim brand and this particular feeder. I will comment on why I recommend this and then some special handling items.

First, as I mentioned I have three of these units. Two are run 24/7. These units are reliable, last between 1-2 weeks for feeding capacity (different sized fish supplied by each one), and built very well. The built well comes from the fact that one unit has fallen into the tank twice. Immediate recovery, turn off, then air drying of the internals was sufficient for the unit to operate as good as new. I have used these units for 8 months now without problem. They do come with a sticky backed velcro mount so that they are not prone to fall into the tank. I use those on the one that likes the water.

I have had problems with only one unit after about 20 days of first operation where it lost its programming, and upon replacing the batteries it operated for a few days and completely died. This occurred with use out of box, it was not dropped into the water :-) and it was used as recommended. I emailed Eheim, and was advised to return it to their factory or an authorized service center. I returned it to Eheim's Montreal office with a copy of the email and they sent a fixed unit back about 4 weeks later. So, this is why I also recommend the brand. Nothing is perfect, and when I got one lemon out of three -they fixed it.

On using these units:

* you must calibrate the feeder so that on an average run it feeds the amount you want -that is, weigh or measure the amount fed after 10 consecutive runs and then determine what the average is for each feed -it is a simple mechanical feed mechanism -this is why it is reliable -so it is not exact. Your fish are not exact either, they can eat a bit less sometimes.

* once you know how much to open the feeder, mark it with a permanent marker -you need to close it to refill, so this way you will know where to open it back to

* you can run the feeder up to 4 different times a day, and each time can have an optional second feed a minute after the first

* I grow tilapia, so I feed my fish only what they will completely eat in 2 minutes

* the unit is heavy on the side towards the water when it is full -when doing tank maintenance, remove it so it out of the way (obvious, but I did drop one unit twice)

* if your unit goes for a swim: take it out immediately, remove and discard the batteries, keep the battery door off and gently blow dry the unit. Dispose of wet food and clean out the food compartment. Once you are certain everything is DRY, then put fresh batteries in and reprogram the unit.

* when using the unit for the first time, allow a week (before you go on vacation) to ensure it is operating fine and feeding the way and amount you want -don't just set it up the night before you leave -this way you will see how long your feed lasts also

* the feeder does dispense less when it nears empty -but again, fish adapt

* I only use the unit with pellet food one feeder has a mix of 1/8" and 3/16" pellets, the second feeder has fingerling powder

Good luck!

I use all eheim brand equipments for my fish tank because they are the best. So it was a no brainer to get an eheim feeder. However this thing is a complete disaster for small food/pellets used to feed little fish such as neon tetra etc.. The feeding sliding door is VERY cheap and badly design, it's loose and doesnt allow fine control. So you either dumps no food because the opening is too small or dump a tons of food messing up the water params.

Even worse when I went on vacation i set the feeding door to a small size just to be safe since too much food will cause a mini cycle + ammonia spike, which is far worse than feeding lesser amount to the fish for a few days. But when i came back my tank is completely full of food, the cheap sliding door of this feeder gradually opened up on its own while in operation. Luckily I have a very heavily planted tank with a lot of fast grower stem plants that are able to absorb the excess nutrients, so a complete disaster was avoided.

The sad part is the feed itself looks to be reliable and solid, just eheim decided to skimp on the most important part of the feed the sliding door that controls the feeding amount.

Works as advertised except there's a major problem......I use pelletized food and feed 12 pellets three times daily, the design of this feeder does not drop the same amount of food each time it cycles. Once adjusted, it can drop anywhere from 4-15 pellets per feeding. You have an opening, which you adjust to allow a certain amount of food to be dispensed each cycle, but pellets can jam in the opening. If i open it further, way too many pellets come out. The only solution I came up with was to run it for three days into a pie plate until I averaged the proper number of pellets on a daily basis. I would really not recommend it for pelletized food.

Marina Betta Pals Kit

Marina Betta Pals Kit, Contemporary ThemeI really wish people would really educate themselves about betta splendens and their housing requirements. These so-called 'betta kits' are not acceptable by any serious aquarist. This tank is clearly too small. A betta fish needs a larger tank that is big enough for a heater to fit inside it. Bettas are tropical fish and they do need a heater to regulate their body temperature and keep them healthy (room temperature water will not help keep a fish heal its fins if it has fin rot or shredded its fins for some other reason). Secondly bettas are intelligent, curious creatures who likes to swim around and through things. This tank does not provide the space for that kind of activiity. With this little prison, er, tank, the fish is just going to sit there and eventually bite its tail due to boredom. If you want to get a betta fish, at least get a medium Kritter Keeper, a mini hyor heater, and a few silk plants and nice bridge for the fish. I wouldn't even use this fish prison for water changes or as a hospital.

Admittedly, I am not a fish purist. I was simply looking for a nice, compact fishtank for my 2.5-year-old to keep a betta in his room. I bought the Marina Betta Pals kit in green from a local box retailer and moved Pickle into his home. He ate, pooped, made bubble nests and was lively. He seemed very happy for the 3 years that he lived there before passing away, in spite of his small domain. My son is now almost 8 and on his second betta who has been with us for 2.5 years now. Again, every indication is that the fish is not unhappy with his surroundings. So yes, this is a small tank, but its small size is a bonus in a kid's room. It is easy to clean, easy to open to feed the fish, and has a lid to protect the fish from our curious cats and random Legos. And the fish just don't appear to be distressed in it.

Buy Marina Betta Pals Kit Now

I have a hard time understanding why Marina would sell & market a fish tank specifically marketed for Bettas when after researching betta fish it's so clear that this tank size is tiny and cruel to keep a fish in?

I bought this at Petsmart one day when I decided to get a betta for my daughter's birthday present, and I just figured since it was specifically a "Betta kit" that it was humane and an appropriate size for a betta. Unfortunately, upon getting home with my betta tank all set up, I Googled a bit to learn more about this fish and read in several different places (from both professionals, veterinarians, and fish enthusiasts) that a 1/2 gallon betta aquarium is WAY too small and cruel to put the fish in. And after letting the fish live in this aquarium for a few weeks, I know they're right. My fish sits in the corner, facing the corner all day, despite regular cleaning his fins are pulled close to the body, he barely moves except to eat. It's very clear this fish is stressed out.

Finally, I picked up a 1.5 gallon tank and hoping it will help, as well as some natural plants for him to hide behind. Just got it tonight, so we'll see.

But my problem is I just think it's incredibly misleading for Marina to market & sell aquariums for Bettas that they MUST KNOW are TOO SMALL for these beautiful fish to thrive in. My fish survived, sure, but as one professional put it in their article on Bettas: "Surviving and thriving are two very different things." And as for my, I want a happy & healthy fish.

So, shame on you Marina for selling aquariums like this! I'm certain there are many more unaware buyers like myself that assume because the pet store sells it, it must be appropriate for their pet. Very misleading. Great design! But just not enough for even one fish.

And to other buyers, please do your research on bettas before buying. They are beautiful, fun fish. Give them a good life!

I'm a betta hobbist and I know about all the misconceptions that betta can live in just about anything and it is bogus. This "aquarium" is way too small, betta require atleast one gallon of water and that needs to be cleaned 1-2x weekly atleast. This is probably 1/2 gallon or less meaning you either clean it every day, t hus stressing your betta out and killing it or let is die a slow death from ammonia burns and other ills. This also has no lighting leave betta looking dull and boring, no heating or ability to heat so your house must stay warm where your betta is and it just isn't good. You can also buy large Critter Carriers (2-3 gallons) for the same price or less, it wouldn't be great, but it'd be a heck of a lot better.

I liked this tank because I don't have a lot of space away at school. It fits one betta fish (no more than one).

There is no room for a filter-but a plant helps with maintaining the oxygen levels and keeping wastes down. I clean up the food my picky betta misses with a net. I also change about a quarter of the water in my tank every 2 days. It has held up really nicely so far. My betta is happy. I wish I had room for toys. Poor guys bored and stares at me half the time :-) lol. I think he needs something to do.

Power Gravel Cleaner 30-125

Power Gravel Cleaner 30-125I am so excited to finally get my Power Gravel Cleaner for 30 125 gallon aquariums! Amazon.com had the best price of anyone else that I could find. Plus with Free shipping offered by Amazon Prime I couldn't go wrong. This Power gravel cleaner works great, it has very good suction and was easy to put together. I did discover 2 issues with this unit, the suction hose needs to be at least 3 feet long and the suction hose should have a shut-off ball valve to have more control of the suction power. However, I found these issues easy to fix by replacing the short hose that was provided with the unit with an old 5 foot gravel vac hose that I had laying around to give the unit a longer reach around the tank and I was able to make it easier to control the water flow by pinching the hose with my fingers. I have to say all in all, I am very happy with this product and would recommend it to my friends and my LFS. I had to give this unit a 4 star rating because of these 2 issues. If Colbalt Aquatics would update their design with these 2 modifications they would get a 5 star rating from me.

This is an excellent idea with a few draw backs some of which are significant. I ordered the 30 125, found setup a breeze despite the near non existent instructions. At first I tried it out on a 55 it did a good job and did it quickly. The unit was defective but I ordered a replacement and Amazon had it here the very next day.

The unit is basically an HOB (Hang On Back) filter but it's a clever idea and easy to see how it helps keep your tank substrate clean in between serious break down cleanings and water changes.

1) The suction is more than adequate I use Terrazona glass as a substrate in many of my tanks, these are quite large and heavy and the suction from this unit had no problem sucking those up, a simple shake released them. it's comparable to Python water exchanger. But for a unit price of $100 Cobalt could certainly have provided extra socks and a stronger pump. Not to mention a flow control much like the simple switch on the Python

2) The filtration socks are flimsy open mesh nylon and allow for some debris to re-enter the tankfor $100 for the cleaner Cobalt should really include more than one.

An alternative is to buy some 80 Mil filter pad (I use this stuff in all my filters) it removes debris down to 5 microns in size and will polish your water as you use clean the gravel. The cost for a package of three replacement socks retails for an outrageous , p. You can buy an 18" X 30" piece of "Pure Flow" 80 micron padding for under $10 it's a no brainer. Simply wrap a piece around the plastic frame instead of the sock or better yet use both.

3) For a machine meant to clean up to a 125 aquarium and provide the consumer with a mere 24" of vinyl tubing is short sighted and cheap. Rather than move the unit along the rim of the tank as you work. An easy fix is to grab some 5/8 tubing I pulled 5 feet off a siphon gravel cleaner and it works great and solved the problem.

However there are reasons to like this product.

1) The extension tube is excellent and the rubber dividers provide an air tite seal. Plus you can adjust the size to fit the depth of most any tank.

2) It's fast and it's convenient, despite it's flaws. This is a real time saver especially if you have multiple tanks.

I've used an eheim sludge remover for years and it's effective but time consuming. Like all eheim products it's exceptionally well made and the micro screen compartment for capturing debris never needs replacing. However it's limited in size to tanks 24" in depth and tube extensions are not available.

A few years ago I paid $79 apiece for two of them but see Amazon sells them for $39 that's a steal. They're a wonderful addition to any aquarists arsenal of cleaning and maintenance products. In fairness the Cobalt is stronger and more versatile especially for larger jobs.

Over the past 40 years of keeping fish I've seen both products and companies come and go with rapid frequency. Cobalt would be serving both itself and their customers better by offering more value for the dollar and up grading the overall quality of this product.

The good: The cleaner looks nice and is easy to use. Not being up to my armpit to reach the bottom was nice. It really does cycle a lot through.

The bad: It's not filtering that much out. Even when I doubled up the screen on the flow to try and filter out more, it was still pushing through all the food and poop right back into the tank. It only took me 3 attempts at cleaning the tank before I put a cup into the waterfall and dumped it into a bucket so I could look at the water that was going back into the tank. Very large uneaten food flakes and plenty of poop were right there in front of me.

Realistically great idea, I was sold on it (and I'm a cheapskate), but SORELY disappointed.

Really helps to conserve water also! After we finish the gravel wash we let it run for over night and it pulls out all kinds of dirt. We love it!

Zilla Terrarium Dish

Zilla 11654 4-Inch Terrarium DishMy leopard gecko seems to enjoy the two dishes! I purchased 2 for her mealworms and for water! This is a great product for the price it's selling at!

I needed a heavy weight bowl to use in the aquarium for my juvenile green iguana because he was bad about turning things over...this totally took care of that! No more worries about soaked cage bottoms or food scattered all over the place. Everything stays neatly in place now.

Fish Mate 800GUV Gravity UV+Bio Pond Filter

Fish Mate 800GUV Gravity UV+Bio Pond FilterFISH MATE UV LIGHT DIDN'T WORK ON THE FIRST ONE I PURCHASED AND I RETURNED IT FOR ANOTHER. AFTER ABOUT TWO WEEKS I NOTICED THE POND WATER GETTING A LOT OF ALGE IN IT AND LOOKING DIRTY. CHECKED THE UV LIGHT ONLY TO FIND IT STOPPED WORKING. RETURNED IT TODAY AND I AM LOOKING FOR ANOTHER FILTER FROM SOME OTHER COMPANY. ALSO YOU HAVE TO REMOVE THE LIGHT PORTION FROM THE FILTER TO SEE IF ITS LIT.

I use this filter on a 625 gallon stock tank pond. It is convenient to open the "hood" and remove the foams for cleaning. You don't have to stop the pump, and you can peek inside the filter any time to check it. The green color also helps the unit blend in with the shrubs.

I purchased this unit on December 6, 2011 and installed on December 12, 2012. Today, after noticing the pond water that has been staying muddy and green for about 2 weeks, I removed the unit's UV chamber and found that the UV lamp quits working and stays dark. Replacing with a new lamp, the lamp did not illuminate. Put in a new capacitor, it did not help to bring the unit back to life. It appears that the ballast is defective. It has only 9 months of use. I sent an email to the N. America Ani Mate, Inc. about the issue and now waiting for their reply and a resolution. The product has a 3-year warranty claim and, hopefully, I will get it repaired or replaced by the manufacturer.

My little pond is in a really sunny spot. It is not algae free, altho' the algae is noticeably less....don't know if I'm expecting too much from a 800 model. So far it is working good, I am happy with the purchase.
