SunSun HW-302 3-Stage External Canister Filter, 264 GPH

SunSun HW-302 3-Stage External Canister Filter, 264 GPHI have the 302 and 303B, both running for months. They are quiet and efficient. My tanks have never looked better or been healthier. The 302 was my first canister filter, so it did take me some time to figure it out. Instructions could definitely be improved. I had read other reviews that advised to prefill the canister with water to simplify priming, and it worked like a charm. The first cleaning was an adventure trying to figure out how to get the media baskets out and back in correctly, but again, once learned its no big deal. Bottom line, you can't beat these filters for the price.

I know that there are a lot of complaints about the setup of this filter, but given the price point I went for it anyway. Let me just say I am super impressed with it. I have it on a fully planted 50 gallon aquarium and it has cut my maintenance of the system down to almost nill beyond water changes.

The canister only comes with filter-floss like pads for the three baskets and you have to provide your own media. I ended up stacking all three pads into one basket and getting ceramic rings, scrubby pads and charcoal for the other two. My tank has never been so clear and I only even check on the canister about once every three to four weeks. Not to mention that the filter is almost dead silent.

As far as the setup goes, sure the hoses are a little stiff, and the directions are general for all of the canisters that this company sells, but honestly this is my first canister filter and it was not that difficult for me to setup.

I am new to canister filters and decided to purchase this one due to price. While that is not always a good idea in this case it was. It came with everything I needed to get started and was super easy to set up. Also the cost of maintaining it is super low compared to regular cartriage filters.

I have been using one of these filters for around four years (bought mine off ebay when they first showed up) on my 29 gallon planted aquarium, only had to replace the impeller once. Just keep up on maintenance (which i am not the best at) and you wont have any problems.

The surface skimmer works well, i have to heat the "fingers" and bend them upward when i first set it up to improve skimmer performance. (just used really hot water)

I still use the original filtration media, nothing has broke down except the white fine filtration pads, finally ordered a pack of those earlier this year.

The impeller is pretty durable, it has had to deal with chomping up on MTS and ramshorn snails that have ventured into the intake over the years.

The media baskets have held up well, no cracks yet, plenty of room for various media. The water flow goes from bottom tray, to top, then back to the tank.

Exotic Environments Cobblestone Castle Walls Aquarium Ornament, 10-Inch by 3-1/2-Inch by 5-1/2-Inch

Exotic Environments Cobblestone Castle Walls Aquarium Ornament, 10-Inch by 3-1/2-Inch by 5-1/2-InchIt is a sturdy wall decoration that looks great underwater. I like the colors and the swim holes. I am using as the main piece in a five gallon hex though it could certainly be used in any size larger tank as well. It is the exact size for the effect that I was looking for. Will add picture as well.

It's large and nice looking, but way to sharp for a Betta fish. I didn't return it because it will be fine with any other fish, but the Betta's tail would rip on these edges.

I purchased this for my snakes terrarium. Its really cool and unique, and came on time. The only thing i didnt like about it was the hollow bottom, where my snake could climb up inside and become stuck. I still give it 5 stars because it is intended for underwater usage, not snake jungle gyms. My betta will love it :)

Perfect fit for a 10 gallon tank! Looks amazing! I have this in a fire belly toad tank with some plants and a bridge... they love it and it looks awesome!

Fits nice as the sole decor piece in a 3 gallon bowfront.

The guppies, neons & cory cat can swim through the openings easily. Colors look great, is exactly what I was looking for.

Would recommend for a large focus piece in a 10/20 gallon tank as well. Excellent value. This is a Hollow piece, so you want to make sure no fish are under the base portion when you place in tank or fish could become trapped.(only during placement could that happen)

TOM TM1198 Aquarium Hatch N' Feeder Brine Shrimp Hatchery

TOM TM1198 Aquarium Hatch N' Feeder Brine Shrimp HatcheryI purchased this thinking how wonderful it would be to feed my fish fresh brine shrimp. I should have listened to the guy on a youtube video showing how to make your own brine shrimp hatchery. I did after the fact. The one I made works better.

This thing looks hi tech but it doesn't work very well. The amount of shrimp produced is adequate but the delivery system is weak. Very little comes out. The only good thing is the mini Turkey baster they give you to do your own feedings. I still use that with my home made hatchery. Complete waste of money.

This thing is not small.. It might look like it but it is almost 9" tall and % 1/2" in depth..

But it works.. If your water conditions are within range you can see the baby shrimps after 16 hours.

Sometimes the salty water can be mixed into the fish tank which is not nice so you need to be careful when removing the hatchery from you tank to avoid mixing the salty water.

Also the piece that connects the suction piece and the hatchery doesn't perform that good. I understand you have to be able to dislodge it but its grip is too low. If there is movement in the water you can see the hatchery moving with the water.

Other bad side is the outlet..There is nothing wrong with the outlet but my 3 mollies in the tank figured out where the shrimps are coming from and they literally guard the outlet which the baby shrimps are released to the tank. :)

The sure enjoy it a lot. Other than the size the hatchery is OK.

Can't get many shrimp to grow and the instructions aren't helpful at all. Doesn't want to sit flush and says to use a bubbler but hardly any shrimp hatched.

Good 'ol sea monkeys.

The hatchery works great I use it in a 75 gallon with 3 red eared sliders, a dozen or so large goldfish and a dozen plecos.

I figured I'd give my goldfish something to do through the day besides swim away from slow turtles, and randomly eating a sea monkey seemed like a good idea.

Mess is minimal, cleanup isn't hard. All byproduct 'gook' is left in the hatchery, wash it and scrub a little and it's good as new.

The suction cup is STRONG, I need a flat object just to unstick it... however the clip which holds onto the hatchery isn't that secure.

If your tank is filled with docile fish, it'll be fine, but if you've got something larger, like a few lumbering turtles, it can relatively easily be knocked out of the clip.

Overall, great product. I'd buy another one for any tank I have in the future to keep the sea monkey cycling up.

Make sure you have a 30 gallon tank and you will not create a strong saline environment in the tank. The hatchery will be a couple of degrees cooler.

Nature's Pure Series Seamless Glass Aquarium Sphere 10x8 in - 1.5 Gallons

Nature's Pure Series Seamless Glass Aquarium Sphere 10x8 in - 1.5 GallonsWe bought three of these for our beta fishies. The glass is beautiful and the quality is good. We decorated each differently with colorful gravel and plastic plants. They are gorgeous! The size is great for one fish and they are easy to wash. We've had them for a while and so far, no breakage. The bowls are very noticeable and we got many compliments. They do get heavy when we need to change the water, but we don't need to clean them too often because they are big (takes time for the water to get dirty). Fish and humans are very happy!!

Not much more to say. The glass was definitely a bit of a splurge compared to acrylic, but looks so much nicer, stays cleaner over time. Shipped securely. Smooth edges and no visible flaws in glass. Feels sturdy thickness.

Nice and large, this fish bowl is attractive and displays my son's fish nicely. It goes well on one of our coffee tables.

Great buy, wonderful size. I'm going to be using this for my chinchilla's dust bath for when I get him. Exactly what I was looking for. I'd recommend this even as a regular fish bowl.

Coralife 6700K T-5 High Output Fluorescent Lamp

Coralife 80413 6700K T-5 High Output Fluorescent Lamp, 39-WattHard to find these bulbs for 30 inch fixtures, but price was right and they did get here in one piece. Like the softer glow this gives the tank vs the 10k light. Use one of this and the 10 k for the effect I like to see.

Product came fast and plugged in and worked.

I purchased a couple of this to replace my blue actinic bulbs for more light for my plants. Plants are flourishing and fish look good.

Freshwater planted aquarium.

I bought two of these bulbs to replace a couple actinic bulbs that came with my HO light fixture. I've only had for a few days, but so far they work great! Way better than actinic lighting for freshwater!

I saw that another person had received broken light bulbs several times In a row. My lights came very well packaged ( wrapped in loads of bubble wrap!!! ) and were NOT broken. So don't let the other guys review deter you. They don't always arrive broken! And if they are it's probably not amazons fault.

All in all great product and for a great price.

Works well for what I need it to do, provide light for my plants. After my last fish died, I decided to turn my old aquarium into a terrarium. Since I recently moved to Wisconsin I figured this would help give me a head start on my garden, which it did.

I ordered two of these to increase the lighting on my 29 gal tank which I'm trying to plant. The 31 watt fit bulbs the 30" fixture perfectly and were well packed, both of which were my main concerns about ordering online.

They are bright and at 6700k should be the right spectrum. They seem to do the job, even if I can't figure out how to get the plants to keep growing. More research is required on my part, but the lights are great!
