I had this heated for approx 3 weeks now and I woke up this morning to find my whole tank dead. The water was about 100 degrees!!!!!!!!!!! This heater was set at 78 degrees and it just malfunctioned and never stopped heating my tank!!! I am soooo dissapointed, I loved all my fish. Do not buy this heater! Now I have to buy a new heater and all new fish!

To my horror, I came home last night to a 96-degree reef tank. The heater failed in the on position. I lost 1 fish and all my corals. Just got done scrubbing the dead stuff off my live rock. The Finnex registered 77 deg. F, which was > 2 deg. higher than the 3 thermometers in my tank. Those 3 agreed among themselves within 0.2 deg. F. The heater responded poorly, or not at all, to my efforts to raise the temperature in the tank. I did not want to risk using the Finnex Titanium in my tank and discarded it. I have a 75 gal tank with two Eheim filters (with no filter heating elements). I had removed the two other heaters from my tank. I have had tropical fish tanks since the early 1940s.
I love love love this product with the heater cable from Hydor. This is my new favorite company. I have not yet found a product that I am not thrilled with. Ok to this heater regulator for the cables. I love the cable heating concept and have it in use with this temp regulator for 2 years now. I have not touched the dial since I first set it up. It is still dead on accurate and working well the cables under the sand in my planted 15 gallon freshwater tank. I would not and did not hesitate to buy this product again so it is also now in an 8 gallon saltwater tank. No fluctuations and working fine. Yes, I do have a thermometer to refer to so I know it is working well. As with any thermometer controlled device, you need to acclimate it to your room temperature before putting it into use, then set it to desired temperature. After checking what temp it is producing adjust if needed then leave it alone. I have not needed to touch it or adjust it in two years.

I make my own glass and so I'm very tuned into color and these pebbles are a very nice light copper blue-not mentioned is they are very slightly irridized which is also very pretty in reflected light. Nice soft texture too-good product-these pebbles come i a couple other colors, which I also purchased and the same is true for those too.
I also overestimated the size of 4" and it is really tiny. I love it though. It's such a nice piece and it has so much depth and dimension and looks so cool underwater. I'm currently waiting for one of the larger Penn Plax castles to arrive and I think the two of them together will look so cool in my 20 gallon betta tank. Definitely a good buy!
This works perfectly. Tons of bubbles. i had no problems at all. You do need to make sure it's nice a buried though. Mine is currently floating because I need to re-anchor it.
My 10yo daughter and I are just getting started with fish. We live in a cold climate and wanted her tropical fish to have the right temperature when the thermostat is turned down during the day. Occasionally I come home for lunch, and this heater has no problems holding the temp 12 degrees warmer than the rest of the house during the day. It is easy to set for a precise temperature, and in the last few weeks I have never seen the tank temp even vary at all. Basically you plug in the heater (once it is in your tank), check your thermometer over the next hour for the actual temp of the water. Then you turn a ring on the heater so the arrow points to the exact temp. There are degree markings to raise or lower your tanks temperature. To start with, I set the heater to 74degrees. It actually settled at about 76. After adjusting the setting ring, I turned the tank up to 78 and it has held steady at 78 ever since. It seems like all of the smaller "preset" heaters have some that work great and others of the same model have major issues and fry the fish. This German made heater has a reputation for lasting 15+ years. This 25watt heater is good for 2gallons up to 7, the 50w is for 7 gallons up to 16 gallons. Buy this heater and you will have peace of mind that your fish are warm and safe!

I have owned 3 EHEIM Jager heaters for probably 6-8 months now. None of them have broken, stopped working, or have been off on their heating. Even when the room fluctuates temperatures it stays consistent. On one of the heaters I thought it was off but didn't mind, it just turned out to be my thermometer. Works really well for my 5 gal Fluval Chi tank. The dial is not that accurate, but that's no problem just start lower on the dial and keep an eye on your thermometer and work your way up to what temp you want it.
I used to have one of these Betta Hexs in college for my bettas. At the time they were perfect given the lack of room I had in my dormitory but looking back at it, the bowl wasn't ideal. The betta hex is the size of a coffee cup. Bettas need more room than a coffee cup. I learned the hard way that if you don't keep the cover on, the betta will jump. I can't really blame the fish for jumping. Look at the size of its living quarters. I have my current betta Blutengel in a half gallon bowl. It may not be ideal but he is thriving and has the space to swim around happily. I guess the only good things I can honestly say about the betta hex is that it is perfect for a college dormitory and it is easy to clean but for the fish not very comfortable. Bettas need the room to swim around, not to sit there floating.

My aquarium eats one of these about every ten days. You can rinse/shake it out in a sink or bowl full of water drained from the aquarium but the cleaned filter will only last 3-4 days before clogging again. Couple of things to be aware of...a large part of your aquariums ability to remove waste revolves around beneficial bacteria growing in your filter. When you take the filter out, you remove a lot of organic waste from the ecosystem but you may also remove a lot of the bacteria that are clinging to the filter.

Excellent product. I do think its a bit expensive as there are alternatives out there that do the job just as well, but this one is specifically designed for my aquarium so it fits a whole lot better :)
I bought this magnet at a big box store for about half the price Amazon sells it for. I figured if it didn't work, I wouldn't be out much money. I use it on the little patches of algae that show up in between major monthly cleanings and the more minor water changes I make. I have three fantail goldfish in a 20 gallon glass tank and algae can build up fast. This magnet works better than I expected. It wipes these spots away instantly and keeps the tank looking great! The other review noted it didn't work on acrylic but I can attest to it's effectiveness on glass. This would not be the appropriate method to clean a lot of algae or thicker algae, as that speaks to a different issue that likely is due simply to poor maintenance or even an ill fish. But for "spot cleaning" I would definitely recommend this. Plus it is intriguing enough and simple enough for my young children to want to take part. I just set up the inner magnet and they drag it around with the outer and their hands get nowhere near the water. Definitely has my positive recommendation!
Basically owned one and used it basically nonstop for approx. 3 months. Lost power and started making a lot of noise. The other one I have works good, no problems and I've been using it for about 3 or 4 months pretty much nonstop. Maybe I got a bad one? The seller said they would take it back though.
