GloFish Round LED Bubbler with 6 Blue LEDS

my glofish doesn't like the lights. He will sit in one place and not move until the lights are off. So, I turned it on it's side so the lights are facing out of the tank and I actually think it's bubbling better b/c it's closer to the filter now. Wish I could turn the lights off but will work ok this way!

Product adds a nice LED bubble effect to GloFish aquarium. Bubbles are a bit strong for my little tetras in a five gallon tank and there is no off switch for the LED light that is emmitted from the bubbler. I just use a timer so I'm not bothered with turning it on & off.Read Best Reviews of GloFish Round LED Bubbler with 6 Blue LEDS Here
It is inexpensive. There is no tubing or pump for the bubbler, so you are getting the LED disc only. The biggest problem with this is that the beam is very narrow, almost like a flashlight beam, so don't expect it to light up your tank. I surrounded the disc with rocks, then put a crystal my daughter had in her rock collection on top of it. It looks very cool.-updateI ended putting up putting a couple of largeish crystals on the light and it now looks very cool. My daughter uses it as a night light. The crystals diffuse the light and reflect it on her walls and ceiling. When the fish swim by the light in the tank you can see their shadows on the ceiling! I added a star to my review because of this unexpected bonus.I was very pleased with this product. The light is nice and bright and the bubbler on it bubbles very nice.
Quiet One Lifegard Fountain Pump, 220-Gallon Per Hour

I am using the pump in a medium sized concrete fountain that is about 3' high. The pump hums so loudly that you can hear it over the sound of water running down the fountain. I have much larger pumps going in larger water features that are completely silent.
All in all I paid a little more for this pump hoping it would be quieter. What I got was a buzzing, broken pump. :(
Two stars for prompt delivery and the ability to drive water 3' up.
Coralife (Energy Savers) ACLAF503 Colormax 15-watt Fluorescent Aquarium Bulb, 18-Inch

- Coralife is one of the market's leading manufacturers of premium aquarium products
- The light simulates the sun at high noon with a slight cloud haze
- ColorMax lamps provide a rich light that enhances the natural beauty of the aquarium and its inhabitants
I originally rated this bulb a two, because I wanted a pure white light that made the tank look the same as it does in sunlight. If that's what you're looking for, don't buy this bulb. Unfortunately, don't buy any fluorescent bulb. I tried about four different bulbs by different makers of high quality fluorescent bulbs before I tried colormax. Since it wasn't the natural look I wanted, I tried six more bulbs, again by different manufacturers at different color temperatures. I've spent over two hundred dollars and still haven't found a bulb that doesn't have a yellow, blue, red, or purple tinge. This bulb has a purple tinge, by the way. However, after a couple months of searching and trying bulbs of all kinds, I keep putting this one back in as my default bulb. It's not exactly what I was looking for, but it does make my blue dwarf gourami, yellow molly, and red guppy stand out nicely, just not the same color they have under sunlight.
If you want a bulb that looks as close to white sunlight, this is at best a 2/5. But, if you want a bulb that makes the colors of your fish look brighter, deeper, and more vibrant (and you don't care if the colors of your fish look like the would in sunlight), then this bulb gets a 4/5.
The average is 3/5. So, depending on what you want, take the rating with a grain of salt. Unless I can find something I like more, I'll keep using this.

This is my first colormax or cheater bulb as they are called. It really does bring out the color of the fish and the fake coral I have. It gives everything a pinkish/purplish tint which I don't mind. Not good for live plants. These bulbs made a huge difference in the appearance of my tropicals! All of the colors are so much more vibrant and the contrast in plant colors is vey noticeable. Wish that I had purchased these at the beginning.

Microbe-Lift Gravel and Substrate Cleaner for Home Aquariums

What I did was to add this, and follow directions; that means: correct dosage maybe even a little on the conservative side and then changed my filters after 8 (maybe 12?) hours later. Nothing to it, really.
My tank has had a constant algal bloom battle, sometimes worse than other times, and seemed to remain cloudy, even when the blooms had been abated. The water clarifiers and (alleged) algae killers I've used never worked, no matter how expensive or reputable the brand, but somehow this product did it all; took care of the green water *and* cloudiness. I love it, and highly recommend this. I currently have five tanks; one 38-gallon with plants, fish & invertebrates, a 1.5G tank w/ a betta, two Fluval Ebi Nanos (~8G), and one Fluval Chi (5G) that has an albino catfish & some tiger barbs. I've used this product in the betta, barbs, and 38-gallon tank, and the water has always cleared up in color, clarity, and quality (did water tests once cleared to see what the parameters might be).I had purchased this recently as previously I was using W.O.W. from Petsolutions and that product has been dis-continued. I wish I knew about this before. Microbe-lift gravel cleaner works great. As other reviewers have stated, when you first put this in your tank, it looks like ink and will turn your water very dark. This lasted for 4 days the first time I used it and then it cleared up quicker the second time and only lasts for 3 days. What a change though. This cleaned my substrate and it is very clear now and the water looks crystal clear. I have a 46 gallon tank but I do have great filtration with two Rena Canister XP filters. I would say the better your filtration, the faster the water will clear but this stuff does work. If you have a dirty tank or substrate, I would highly recommend Microbe-lift Gravel Cleaner. If you have that problem, just have some patience and this will work. A must buy for Aquarium maintenance.

I tried other products, but nothing was able to remove the sludge in my 3 tanks, but all I needed was one dose of Microbe-Lift and the sludge was almost gone. Another dose two weeks later and my tanks were completely clear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Read Best Reviews of Microbe-Lift Gravel and Substrate Cleaner for Home Aquariums Here
Turns the water brown for a few days but then returns to crystal clear. I used on a 50 gallon fish tank. We use it once a month.Want Microbe-Lift Gravel and Substrate Cleaner for Home Aquariums Discount?
This may be a very good product but I've only used it once because it turned the water in my tank brown for days. I may try it again when I know I'm not having guests (yes, it looked that bad) because I like the premise an easy and ecological way to clean the tank of that yucky stuff on the bottom.Aqueon Water Clarifier

It does the job! The water is crystal clear and I am very happy with the results. I buy it regularly.Amazon says "for fresh and saltwater use". Picture of bottle on Amazon says "for fresh and saltwater use". Bottle received says "For freshwater use". Why did they change the bottle and remove saltwater? I am not using this now.Solid! This is the best type of clarifier out there as far as your fish are concerned. I am a loyal API user, and this works as well! Male sure to do it BEFORE you change your filter pads!Marina Betta Kit, Large

Well, I've heard success stories about bettas in small tanks, but after my last two I have to say... get a bigger tank. Treat the fish like an actual pet and get it what it deserves. I feel bad because I've had two fish die and now I realize why. I changed the water every week and fed them the best food. The problem is that bettas in bigger tanks have less ammonia and nitrites to deal with. A small betta in a small tank seems to do okay because they are hardy fish, but just wait. The first fish... ugh, I can't talk about what happened, it was gross. So I went all out for the second one. Bought the pre-conditioned Betta water, got a different tank because I wasn't sure the whatever it was that killed the last betta was completely dead, and picked out a young, healthy veil tail betta. It lived for eight months and died. Meanwhile, my boyfriend bought a betta THE SAME DAY, FROM THE SAME STORE that I got my first betta only he did not get this tank, he got a 3 gallon kritter keeper and a heater and some decor. He spent more than I did that day, but his fish is still alive. If they just made these tanks 2.5-5 gallons they'd be great! If they installed heaters in them they'd be perfect... but really people, just use this tank when you're changing the water in your real tank. Amazon has a great 5-gallon by aqueon. It even has a filter. Just baffle the filter and put a pre-filter sponge on it, add a heater and you'll be good to go. That's what I've done now. I god some black sand, large river rocks, an amazon sword, java moss, and some drift wood... my tank looks beautiful and my new betta LOVES it. I only have to change 20% of the water since I cycled the tank, and I have a ghost shrimp to help keep the sand clean AND some neon tetras with the betta. It's much more peaceful, but if you want decor, try a 3-gal vase with crystal rocks and some bamboo or a plant. As for heat, they are tropical fish and do best in warm water, but if you keep your house warm, then you should be fine without a heater.

I bought this tank because it was pretty and simple, and my son desperately wanted a Betta. That poor fish is visibly miserable. This tank is tiny. The lack of any filtration combined with such a small tank leads to cloudy water after only a few days, and even though bettas are dirty water fish, this is just sad.I'm giving in after only a few weeks and investing in an actual aquarium.
I would give this 0 stars if I could. They should be more honest when they sell these things and tell you that fish need more room than this.
(I did not buy this tank on Amazon, I bought it at our local Pet store.)

really poorly made. bad for the fish; bad for the quality of the material it's made out of; just bad bad badwould give zero stars if possible
had to replace my 3 gal tank due to an accident; bought this kit for temporary set-up while I waited for a new 5 gal tank to ship to me
yes I did all the right things about conditioning the water and changing only a portion of it as usual, etc, etc, etc
but terrible tiny size with no room for filter; betta stopped eating immediately
by day 4 it was barely moving; day 5 bye bye betta.
because you should only provide your betta a decent 3 gal+ tank: it is alive -an animal not decor

This was purchased for my 55 gallon tank. Two plecos and an oscar make a big mess, and a small gravel washer couldn't do the job. The large-size Python does an excellent job cleaning the gravel. One drawback is that the suction is so powerful, a large bucket gets filled up in no time. Not wanting to change out too much water in one session (don't want to shock the fish), it is going to take me two or three water changes before I can clean all of the gravel in this tank. I'm planning on doing a change every three or four days until the work is done. Next time I will try to kink the hose to slow the flow a little. Hopefully this will allow me to cover more gravel before the bucket fills up.One positive feature of the Python is that the hose is very thick, and doesn't kink. Some Aqueon products have cheaper hoses and come out of the package with the hoses kinked.
If you are near a sink, I can highly recommend the Python version that attaches to the faucet. I had one of those for many years and it made water changes a pleasure. I would give that version 5 stars.

Eheim ECCO Easy 60 External Canister Filter 2234

1. The manual comes written for 3 different models, and all instructions and references are very confusing. This is a common problem and I do not understand why manufacturers have problems to write a manual for a particular model. Very bad !
2. The canister broke when after a week when I was removing carbon filter as directed. Later I realized it broke because you have to disconnect the hoses and release the pressure created inside the canister. The manual has this step, but it is hard to realize form the whole text this is very important and not doing so may cause problems.
3. Media. The filter comes with black carbon filter pad , white fine filter pad and I also saw some blue pads. What those are and how to properly use them and when to replace is still a challenge for me to understand. here is also another blue foam in pre-filter basket. Buying media in local store could be challenging, so make sure you get some at the time you buy this filter. From my experience white pad should be replaced at least once a month. Carbon is needed when you use medication and apparently you should change pre-filter foam at some unknown point.
4. Water flow. It should indicate when to replace "SubstratPro" or as I call them "filtering stones" or as i discovered it means clogged filter tubing, which gets a lot of grease inside. It is unclear how to clean the tubes, and i use a stick with a paper towel Took 30-40 minutes to get the tubes clean. And this after one month of use considering that I change 30% of water every 2 weeks.
5. Spare parts you were not told about. Eheim recommend to get item No. 72000060 and No.4009550. Do you like this already? Do not worry these are "maintenance spray" and a "round brush". But... I do not think you would be able to get them in the USA.
In two months,
1. I had to deal with a broken part and was never able to get any help form the wholesale distributor located in Canada. They simply do not reply emails and seem do not care about what they sell. I got replacement form the seller. As a result my fish was without a filter for two weeks.
2. My fish got sick twice in two months, both time due to filtering problems I had to learn about the hard way. I spent additional money on medication, had non-scheduled water changes and ugly looking fish. It is definitely not me, since the fish was fine before in smaller tank for 6 months and I have not changed the routine.
Note: I also would like to mention it was not a "new tank" or a "new tank mate" syndromes. For a while between the filtering problem the fish was feeling all right.
Bottom line,
If you are like me, technical and believe in German engineering perhaps give it a try. Otherwise try something else with better manufacturer support and clear maintenance instructions. As for me if it brakes , I will not buy another Eheim product anymore.
Zoo Med Repti Temperature Rheostat

Perfect.I picked up this product with the idea of controlling the temperatures in my ball pythons enclosure but even on this rheostat's lowest setting it was still way to hot. If this is used in conjunction with an under tank heated save yourself the money and just get a plug in lamp dimmer for home depot.

This thing even at its lowest setting remains way too hot. Your reptile can suffer severe burns that result in illness, death and unneeded veterinary bills. I'd agree with the other reviewer. Avoid this product.Read Best Reviews of Zoo Med Repti Temperature Rheostat Here
this product keeps the under tank heater and lamp at a good warm for summer and can be turned to a hotter temp. for winter. I LOVE IT. only thing is that it took some wiggles to get the plugs in.I guess I didnt do enough research on this and thought it was something else. Basically its just a light dimmer and doesnt really dim that much. Not even using it right now since the lamp is on full blast anyways because its so cold in NY. But I will probably use it in the summer time and have it on the lowest setting so my turtle doesnt overheat. I kinda wish it would be a bigger difference from high to low, but its okay.
