I bought 2 tall rustic cubes and one small cube and set them up in the middle of my 60 gal aquarium. Penn Plax Twin Beta Bow-Front Kit for Aquarium
This is WAY too small. Despite common misconceptions, bettas do NOT like to be kept in tiny containers. They do NOT live in small puddles their entire lives. They live in rice paddies that are flooded in the rainy season and slowly dry up. Bettas have adapted to survive in shallow water, but will not thrive in a cup.Ammonia will build up quickly in a container like this. Also, the temperature will fluctuate. Bettas need clean fresh water and a stable tropical temperature. Failing to meet these needs will result in illness and eventually death.
If you want to keep a betta, there are many wonderful online resources. Do some research before you buy one of these amazing creatures! All I have to say is, if you are heartless enough to consider keeping a betta in this, save yourself the shipping and handling and put it in a 2liter soda bottle. I'm sure it would have more space to swim in that than in this.

I am actually glad to see there are this many people against this aweful sham of a betta "home". This is just plain outrageous. Sure a betta CAN survive in something this small, but a human CAN survive living in a closet. Would you want to though? Well neither does your betta! And the Silica gravel stuff at the bottom...wow, just, wow...they print "Do Not Eat" on the little packages of Silica for a reason! (you know the ones they put in new shoes to absorb moisture) It amazes me that some people think thats safe to put in with a LIVE ANIMAL!!!

The shipping was fast. The product is beautiful big and worth the price. It makes a hugh statement in the tank and look realistic. It can become the main center of attension in the tank. Love it. Mine came broken but this wa quickly and rofessionally resolved by the seller. I highy recommend this seller.Pre-Filter Sponge 3 Pack for Fluval Edge Aquarium
I use this to cover the intake of my AquaClear 30. Does everything it's supposed to no surprises and no disappointments. It's nice that the hole doesn't go all the way through the sponge. Now my frogs can hang out on top of it all they want without any danger of getting their feet sucked up. :)This 3-pack in conjunction with Amazon Prime makes this the best deal for this sponge on the market. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of five was the fact that it is realy realy small. I expected it to be bigger, well much bigger (taller and a bit wider). I bought it because my neighbor gave me a prefilter sponge that is two and a half times the height and a bit wider and fits well on even my small HOB filters with 1 inch lift tubes. I thought it would be the same size but it was tiny. Luckily I found that it fits well on my smaller HOB filters with 1 inch or less lift tubes so i decided to upgrade all my smaller HOB filters and buy the three pack (I accidentally bought the 1 pack for $3.49!). It is a good deal for three of these knowing one of them on amazon sells for 3.49-as the three pack is only 3.99 (50 cents for two extra!). Great product for upgrading your smaller HOB filters! Just make sure you rinse them out when you do water changes as they have a tendancy to get gunked up and impede the flow of your fitler.

This is fine. It's a cylindrical sponge with a hole on one side, but it isn't a Fluval. The most important difference is that the Fluvals have a hole large enough to fit on almost any HOB filter intake. This sponge's hole is about half the diameter. You have to either take out the intake tube and use two hands to really push it in, or you'll have to do what I did: take a hobby knife and cut lengthwise inside the hole in order to enlarge the opening. It's still good for the price, but this is not a Fluval in name or design (it doesn't even come in Fluval packaging), and you'll have to do some work to get it to perform its function properly.

They aren't anything special. They're just the product listed. They do what I needed and I will keep buying them. They keep my baby Cherry Shrimps from being sucked up and keep large plant particles from going into the pump. I ended up cutting my into a square rather than the cylinder. I wanted more suction, and less bulkiness. Thanks!Want Pre-Filter Sponge 3 Pack for Fluval Edge Aquarium Discount?
I use the Fluval Edge prefilters on the intake tubes of 3 Aquaclear 20 filters in 5.5 gallon aquariums, which I use as part of a sectional aquarium setup for raising fancy guppies.I also have a 10 gallon tank as part of my guppy sectional setup, with an Eheim 2213 canister filter, which I have also added one of these prefilters to.
The Eheim's intake strainer is small enough to slip the Fluval prefilter on, and the Aquaclear 20 is the same filter used by Fluval with its Edge 6 and 12 gallon tanks, so the fit is perfect.
I use these prefilters for two reasons. The first is to prevent guppy fry from being sucked up into the main filters.
The second is to prevent much of the detritus in my tanks from reaching the Aquaclear 20's mechanical filter sponge.
I have noticed that the mechanical filters in the Aquaclears stay much cleaner since I've added the Fluval prefilters.
I remove the prefilters once a week or so, rinse them well under tap water since they absorb alot of detritus, and place them back on the filter intake tubes.
And since the main filter already has a biofilter, I don't have to worry about rinsing the prefilter in tank water or filtered water. The chlorinated tap water works fine.
These filters really have made it easier to keep my Eheim and Aquaclear filters cleaner, and they are well worth the money. Especially when purchasing them in a three pack.
Highly recommended!
Deluxe Bubble Disk® Aerating Aquarium Ornaments
I hooked this air stone up to a 100 ga Whisper air pump along with the 48" flexible air tube. This puts out an enormous amount of bubbles for its size. I actually had to crimp the tube a bit to reduce the amount of air because the bubbles it was producing were dislodging my plecos from their perches under a stump. Definitely worth the purchase and it makes for an amazing show of bubbles under any decorations or amongst plants.I ordered this bubble disk at the same time I ordered one of those long rod bubble stones that sticks to the tank. This bubble disk has lasted much longer. It's still bubbling while the other has given up the ghost. Only down side is that it won't lay flat at the bottom of my tank. My fish keep removing any rocks I use to anchor it down. (I've got large gold fish.) But even so, it does not come to the top of the tank. It stays at the bottom, just not flat.Buy Deluxe Bubble Disk® Aerating Aquarium Ornaments Now
I have a 75 gallons tank and wanted to give it better oxygenation, so I started looking for an aerator. I had to think a lot before deciding which size to get, and in the end I bought the 3" one. As others said, it produces an enormous amount of bubbles for its size, and it's perfect for my vertical aquarium, so considering its power, you might as well consider that the size is utterly important, depending on the size of your tank; I believe the 3" will work great for 100-gallons-and-less aquariums. The only disadvantage is that it needs some weight to stay down, I had to tie it to the bottom. Besides that, it's perfect, and having it for a week with 6 ten-inches goldfishes who usually make a mess everywhere, it was pretty much clean.

This little airstone 5" is wonderful for my koi ponds and smaller 90 gallon aquariums. I use drilled slate disk from the fish store to anchor the air stone any place I want, they are cheap, and sold for anchoring plants. I just run the airline through the hole and drop the airstone any place I want in either ponds or tanks, and believe me without the slate disk, these airstones would be moved around by my koi. Thanks for carrying a great product!Want Deluxe Bubble Disk® Aerating Aquarium Ornaments Discount?
I put these into 1 gallon bubble buckets and they performed GREAT!Lots of bubbles! They do not have weights though, so they float around a lot. No biggie for farmers but fish people might not like it.
Lee's Triple-Flow Corner Filter, Large
There's a local fish shop in Lewiston, Maine I visit about every 2-3 weeks or so. The owner is a gentleman I'd guess to be about 70 years old who says he's been in the business for 40 years. I'd estimate he's got well over 100 tanks running in his store. Compared to the other pet stores in the area (Petco & Petsmart types), his tanks are crystal clear. Yesterday, I stopped by and struck up a conversation with him. He started asking questions about my tank (75 gallon freshwater) and my filtration system. When I told him I was running an Emperor 400 HOB filter, he promptly told me it was no good. I asked if I should go with a canister filter. He told me those are "crap". He recommended that I install a couple large Lee's corner filters. He pointed out that he uses them in all his tanks, and credits the filters with keeping the tanks so clear. He claimed that he's sold 15,000 of them during his career. He emphasized how inexpensive they are to buy and operate, and that they require very little maintenance. He suggested changing out the carbon and polyester fiber about every 6 months...but also stated that he's got filters he hasn't touched in 3 years. For about $30, he set me up with 2 large filters, and enough carbon and polyester fiber to last at least a few years. On the way home, I got to thinking about my little aging air pump, so I stopped at Walmart and picked up a more powerful Tetra Whisper Air Pump with dual air outlets for about $20. Less than an hour after I got home, both filters were up and running. Like some of the other reviewers stated, the quality of the plastic is disappointing...I'm giving this item a 4 star rating (rather than 5 stars) because of this fact. The unit seems quite fragile and I imagine it wouldn't take much to break it. However, I'm already liking these filters. I like the fact that they are clear, enabling you to see them at work. When I got up the next morning (about 12 hours after installation) I could see a noticeable difference in the water clarity.
For me, the true test will be how they perform over time. But for now, I'm impressed. This filter does the job as expected. I am not so found of the attachable base on the bottom. It make the filter sit crooked in my gravel. I also would change the air tube. I like using an aeration stone, added oxygen in tank, but the little tabs that hold the tubing in place are fragile. The sloping lid makes it hard to keep the poly filter material in place while placing the filter into the tank. Otherwise, this is the kind of filter I was looking for to place in my 10 gallon tank.

Corner box filter. No gimmicks you get what you see in the pictures. If you need a box filter this comes with the air stone and everything you need to set it up.works well, very economical. After replacing my third h.o.b. filter in the last 8 mos. I wanted something reliable. I had to run a small power head to help with flow and thwart algae growth that had increased due to the poor hob filter performance.Jardin Landscaping Resin Barrel Design Ornament for Aquarium, Brown/Green

Universal Rocks 24-Inch by 16-Inch Rocky Aquarium/Reptile Rigid Foam Background
You have to pretty much take all the water out of your aquarium if you want to install this thing. It's like trying to take a pool float to the bottom of the deep end of a pool. Then you have to quickly put your sand or rocks in to hold it against the back of the aquarium. Even then it still tried to slowly float away. I ended up having to buy aquarium sealant and some strong magnets to attach to the back of it and hold it down that way. If you can find the flexible aquarium only version of this, i highly recommend you get that one. The "clips" that it came with are nothing more than a small PVC pipe cut down that you pull apart to get it stay in place. But they don't work on most aquariums cause of the plastic lips that go around the top of the glass. And it's the bottom of this thing that needs to stay in place, not the top that sits above the water! That all being said. It looks pretty dang good once you get it all set up. It doesn't look that great out of water but somehow that all changes when it get's wet. Ive got sand in my aquarium that matches the back ground perfectly and blends right in like they were made for each other. I also bought one of the rock sets that Universal Rocks makes and it also looks great with it. My Multi Shell Dwellers Cichlids seem to like both of them and even the fry will hide in the few crevices in the background when they need to take shelter from the bigger males in the tank.
Had to give it three stars cause this really shouldn't be sold to be used in an aquarium since it's made out of foam. Would have been 5 stars if it was made out of something that doesn't float!Cant say enough good things about this 3d background.
You may need a razor blade to shave the corners just a bit for a more proper fit.
Make sure you measure your tank before buying ! there are many different sizes.

I love this media basket. It fits my ac 70 perfectly and I like the flow pattern through the different baskets. I have mine setup with a hydor 50 watt heater in with the filter floss, seachem purigen in the bottom area and a fuge light with cheato in the final compartment before the water returns to the tank. My water has stayed crystal all the way through my curing and cycling process and it is super easy to maintain just lift it out, clean / change media and slide it back in.Jardin Tree Style Plastic Fish Tank Ornament Aquarium Plant, Blue
When I received this product it was very compacted and not fluffy. You have to fluff it up like a fake Christmas tree, then it can get really poofy or what ever you want. The one that I received was not as blue as I would have preferred(or as shown in picture) Also the blue that was used was not quite as bright enough for what I expected it to be. It was about 50% blue and 50% white, which kind of through off how I wanted my tank to look having it look like a tree is cool, and the little green shrubs at the bottom of it area a nice touch. It looks good covered in gravel. The bottom stand is a weight so the little blue tree doesn't float away. If it was bluer I would buy this again. I will add a few pictures of it too.Beautiful! I am very pleased. I didnt expect it to be that big. And it just wow' s my fish tank. Large Aquarium Betta Keeper
A bowl or small aquarium of at least 1 gallon is more appropriate and allows for more activity.I found this to be a great hospital tank! there will be medication adjustments due to the size and may be a bit of a guessing game at times. but this makes the daily water changes that are required of a medicating bowl easy.
Seriously though, way too small for any fish or living thing (in my opinion)placing two male betta's in this where they can always see each other in such a confined space will lead to constant flaring and they will always be stressed. they will hit the walls and injure themselves. what a stupid idea.

I wrote a similar review and decided to just copy and paste my original story to save time...Being the novice I was, when I was about 12 I "rescued" 2 bettas from a Pets Mart and put them both into separate, cheap, tiny little novelty tanks, and that's how they lived for about a year and a half until I bought my third one and put him into a 5 gallon tank. I instantly noticed the difference!
My 3rd Betta was flying all over the place, he was noticeably happier, responded faster (in a non-aggressive way) when I'd come near the tank, and he lived for a little more than 3 and a half years! My other two barely made it to 2 years. They were depressed, uninterested, slow to respond...everything you don't want your Betta to be. And once I moved them into larger 3 gallon tanks each, they perked up like none other!
Betta's need to be in 3-10 gallon tanks by themselves (5 or larger and you might be able to add compatible fish, though I wasn't willing to risk it). In the wild, they live in rice paddies which are thousands of gallons of swimming space and naturally aerated and filtered, and only live in "small puddles" for about 2 or 3 months (at most) out of the year during the dry season.
What's more, while Wild bettas may be able to take smaller conditions longer and survive better, the fancy bettas we see in the stores today are not nearly as durable or hardy and need more stimulation and space.
This "tank" has no filtration, has little space for the Betta, and isn't much better than the initial cup they come in.

Too small for a temporary home. Not bad I guess if you wanted to put one in there while your changing your REAL tank. You can get a 5 gal for cheaper at some places. Please be kind!Want Large Aquarium Betta Keeper Discount?
I originally bought this tank for my two CT males, Nico and Zazu, but it quickly became a pain. They could both see each other all the time and were always stressing each other out. Before I had funds available for a new tank for them it came down to "modifying" (essentially cutting up) the black plastic from a CD case to insert into one of the partitions to keep them from seeing each other. After I moved them to a different tank with a solid partition, I purchased a female CT who just loves it. She's small enough that she has plenty of room to swim around. I also have some tall grass in the tank which was made to fit by simply looping it throughout the tank and it's become a great little habitat for her.
The tank is incredibly easy to clean and I don't have to worry about the lid falling off without warning.
Recommended for 1 fish without the partition, but not for two.
ALSO! Make sure to remove the fake plants. They will easily shear any fish' fins.
Nutrafin Betta Bowl Conditioner, 2 Ounces
Despite the tannins in its almond leaf extract, this product is alkaline. Bettas prefer their water slightly acid. I'm having a hard time getting my tank back to the proper pH with Betta Plus in the water.Chlorine dissipates from tap water if it sits uncovered for a day. Nitrates, nitrites and ammonia are needed by plants. You keep them from reaching toxic levels by doing regular partial water changes. If Betta Plus does anything more to condition the water, I would like to know what it is.
I Googled Nutrafin's #5942232 "Stress Reducing" formula. It appears to be for a concoction of chemical and herbal remedies that have not been proven to be beneficial to fish. If your Betta's water is properly maintained, and he is still stressed, therapy should bring better results.
Betta Plus neutralizes any active chlorine in the water; that is the only reason I gave this product one star.I must agree with the previous comment about this product being too alkaline. I bought this product due to the Indian Almond leaf extract which I know is beneficial to bettas being a part of their natural habitat. But my pH rose too much while using this. Bettas do prefer their water slightly on the acid side & this product raised my pH up to 7.6 which is too alkaline.
I stopped using this & now do my water changes with another water conditioner. I also bought some Indian Almond leaves & have added them to his tank.

Years ago I had a Betta fish and it didn't live long at all. Then my mother-in-law got two different Betta fish that died over night. I thought I would never get another Betta again. My 5 year old son wanted his own fish so we went to our local pet store and talked to the man in charge of the fish and he helped us find the perfect Betta fish and find the perfect tank for him. The tank came with Nutrafin Betta plus. I went back to buy more Nutrafin Betta plus but the store didn't carry this product and suggested I try something else. I decided to look on line and find what I know works well with our fish. I am very happy to be able to find it here. Our fish is very happy and beautiful. We have had him almost six months now and look forward to having him for many years.
