Lee's 6-Inch Slim Jr. Ultra Gravel Vacuum Cleaner, Self-Start

Lee's 6-Inch Slim Jr. Ultra Gravel Vacuum Cleaner, Self-StartI didn't realize they made vacuums this small, and it works. It doesn't siphon too quickly, so you can swish the gravel around to suck up the stuff settled at the bottom.

It self starts as long as the tank is full (mine's a 3 gallon). If you stop after about a gallon it doesn't tend to start back up.I use it once a monce when I'm going to swap out some of the water anyway.

If you have a 10 gal or smaller tank you need this. No reason to spend any more money. It's also great for draining the tank for a water change.

Great vacuum for small tanks, I have a 2.5 gallon and it works perfectly. Doesn't have a self starting pump, but is easy to start up anyway.

If you follow the instructions, this thing will work very quickly. I remember wrangling with gravel vacs as a kid, but this starts fairly easily every time. Just make sure the length of the vacuum tube is right for your tank mine is about the same length, so it's a little more difficult to start that it would be if there was ample room for the tube inside the tank.

Got this for a small tank (1.5 gallons). It worked very well and helped get the junk out of the gravel. It was easy to get the water flowing, just follow the directions.

Eshopps WD-75CS Wet Dry Filter - 10 to 75 gallons - 18 in. x 10 in. x 16 in.

Eshopps WD-75CS Wet Dry Filter - 10 to 75 gallons - 18 in. x 10 in. x 16 in.So I bought this filter a few days ago. This is the first wet dry filter I've bought, though many of my friends have or have had wet drys in the past. I finally had time to install it today. The instructions that come with the filter are pretty horrible; it looks like a 5 year old drew a picture of a wet dry filter and added captions. Luckily I've seen enough wet/drys in my life to know how it works and how it should be put together. I paired it with a marineland NJ1800 pump with variable flow and with a max flow rate of 474 gph. I figure since I have to lift the water up a few feet from the sump that would be close to the 300 gph of the overflow box.

The filter went in without much issue. I had a clearance issue but thats not an issue with the filter so i had to trim the pvc inserts they give you for the overflow line. Also perhaps my pump is too powerful but the output nozzle from the filter needed a clamp as it would constantly leak. I trimmed my lines to size and so far no problems. The pump is running full open and the overflow box seems to keep up without much issue. I had a issue with the u-tube having an air bubble in it and for the life of me I was unable to get it out but I poured a lot of water in the overflow box and it pushed the bubble out. The reason I give this 4 stars was because of the leaking of the nozzle and the poor instructions.

The pre-marked waterline is deffinetly a plus as I don't want to spend all day trying to figure out the best water level. So far I like the filter and will write another review after a few weeks. That review will be mainly about performance of the filter once its been run for longer than a few hours.

I love this system I had to do a lil modification to fit my needs but it works great I bought a longer return tubing put in on a ball valve to control the water because my pump was pumping water quicker than it was filling in the w/d all in all recommend it

Petco Small Greek Single Column Aquarium Ornament Ruins Collection

Petco Small Greek Single Column Aquarium Ornament Ruins CollectionMy fish requested this pillar specifically as it matched their current decor. They love it. It's a good size for our 10 gallon tank, and is heavy enough to hold down the bubble maker.

If my fish could type, they'd say the same.

SeaClear Bowfront Aquarium Combo

SeaClear Bowfront Aquarium ComboLook nice..I don't have to worry about leaks and the seams(there are none)..a little difficult to access the inside as the openings are narrow on the top...feeding time requires a very small hand to reach in the back slot/opening..or one must remove the kighting and cover to access the tank...also, a disappointment that a BULB was not included for the light(yes, it was mentioned in description of tank)..Overall, it is an ok product. Looks nice.

While this is a nice tank, it should be noted that the description of product does not note that the color of backside of aquarium is CLEAR (not black as is shown in picture) nor does it state the actual gallon size (46 gallons) thus the three stars. Other than the description issues, nice tank all round.

July 30, 2013 Update: After contacting the seller regarding this issue, they understand that the description / photo needs to be updated. To make up for my disappointment in that the back wasn't black, they issued a gift card towards the purchase of a background that I can put on the backside. Also, the tank was to arrive in 2-3 weeks however, it was very much a surprise when it was delivered in just one week!

Since the seller responded back quickly, efficiently, and offered a gift card (not to mention the fast arrival of the tank being delivered!), I have thus updated my rating from 3-stars to 5-stars.

I am looking forward to putting my tank up this weekend and once it is fully operational with decor, plants, and fish will post a picture.

UMM... where is the size!?! this is extremely aggravating to me that there is no size gallon wise or even dimensions! Not only for just this tank but every single freaking tank or even product from stupid petco!

ViaAqua 12in 2.7 watt Blue & White LED Light & Airstone

ViaAqua 12in 2.7 watt Blue & White LED Light & AirstoneThe ViaAqua in tank led light strips are sensational. Up lighting adds an entire new dimension to aquascaping and allows you to create many stunning, creative and unique effects. In the past I tried a similar product made by Marineland whose products I usually love. But the problem with their light strips is that they're so light and the suction cups so little that the wands kept popping loose and floating to the surface.

Or my fish could dislodge them easily with a single nudge. That's not the case here. The ViaAqua units are quite heavy and the large, powerful suction cups are attached to moveable, braces that wrap around 3/4 of the wand. The end result is they stay put beautifully. Even my 8 inch Blue Oranda can't make them budge and THAT'S saying something.

I have two of the all blue in one 55 tank and decided to try two of the blue and white 12" wands in another. The effect is simply gorgeous.I run both wands with a Rena 400 air pump which is more than able to create a steady flow of beautiful and uniform bubbles. The pump has two outputs and each is fully adjustable so you can go from a delicate flow of bubbles to a full throttle air curtain.

More than simply a visually stunning and unique addition to your tank the aeration infuses your water with more much needed oxygen. One common annoyance with most of these double service air wands is that they clog easily and fairly often.A quick remedy is to gently run your finger or a blunt tool (I use the edge of a flat butter knife) along the rubber hose and this clears it out immediately and the full wall of bubbles bounces right back.

If you don't have an overhead LED lighting system these are a wonderful substitute at a fraction of the cost.Even if you do use an overhead system (I have the Marineland Double bright LED system) these wands still add a very beautiful and special look to your tank.I wasn't sure if I would like the white and blue, but it's fabulous. However, if you're looking to create a Lunar mode for your tank so you can observe your fish without disturbing their sleep/rest cycle then you'll want all blue LED bulbs.

ViaAqua makes these in many sizes from 4" to 24" and in array of colors including red, multi color and units with change colors so you're bound to find one that suits your fancy and will look marvelous in your aquarium. On precaution to take is know the size you need prior to purchasing these wands, If they sit too close to your intake, you'll end up with bubbles being sucked into the filter which creates a racket and can compromise your filters efficiency.

In my experience 1-2 inches from the intake is perfect. But depending on the GPH of your filter, you may find you can put them closer or need to keep the ends of the wands a bit further away.I have 8 of these wands and use two in each tank they work beautifully and again, the effect is smashing. The best price I've seen has been on Amazon, and the units have all arrived well packaged and delivered very quickly.

The come packaged with everything you need. Including some airline tubing, instructions, the plug in power transformer, more than enough cable wire and of course the wands themselves. This is a fabulous product which I would recommend to any hobbyist especially anyone looking to add a little pizzazz to their aquarium.

I actually am using this just for the LED lights, I hooked up the air to it to make sure it works but I already have a bubble wall I use and love for the fine bubbles it produces. The LED's on this are bright without being obnoxiously bright, it lights up my dark Hex tank perfectly, I keep it on day and night as during the day it doesn't get all that bright in the room the tank is in and at night it casts a nice blue glow like moonlight for the fish, newts and plants in the tank..

Marineland NJ400 Maxi-Jet Submersible Utility Pump, 7-Watt, 106 GPH

Marineland NJ400 Maxi-Jet Submersible Utility Pump, 7-Watt, 106 GPHSo far, the pump is working, but mainly I wanted to confirm that it is a good replacement for the pumps inside the Tetrafauna Viquarim because they fit the waterfall cavity and have an equivalent gph flow rate.

I have 3 vivariums (half land/half water) tanks for various newts and salamanders. I use the Tetrafauna Viquarium for each of them because gravel is a great biological filter as long as you change water consistently, but I found that the little pumps that came with the viquarium unit sometimes stopped working temporarily because they take in any debris that finds its way into the base of the artificial waterfall. Two of them have always started up again, but in one case the pump just burned out.

When I looked at the Tetrafauna site for replacement pumps, it was clear that they do not sell them, which is a strange oversight. Also, Tetrafauna did not readily answer their phone after I stayed on hold for a little too long, but I noticed that they did provide some information on the website, plugging this small Marineland pump as a good replacement. I want to confirm that it is true that this product fits into the artificial waterfall portion and does the job (so far) as well as the original pump that came with the viquarium kit.

This unit is excellent, been running it in my Aquarium connected to my UV and it does not heat, sound or stops.

If everything was made this way it would be a sweet world

These are very nice pumps and are super quiet! Replaced another pump in my small evolve aquarium with this unit and it pumps with more flow and almost no noise compared to the other pump which was only 2 weeks old! Also bought an NJ900 to replace the noisy pump which came in my brand new upgraded Biocube 29 that was very loud and the new pump is very quiet! Definitely recommend these pumps!

This pump works well, but I did have a slight issue. The adjustment nozzle on the back end keeps falling out. After you've placed this pump inside a tank, trying to fish the nozzle from the bottom and get it reinserted is almost impossible. Overall this pump works well, but with the nozzle issues I wouldn't recommend.

I use these pumps for all kinds of maintence! They just work and work, this pump is trading out a 404 while I do maintence on the 404. This pump will run a 150 phosphate reactor and the next size larger runs a large aquaripure vodka reactor.

Como Green Fry Hatchery Net Breeder for Fish Tank Aquarium

Como Green Fry Hatchery Net Breeder for Fish Tank AquariumI bought this for my angel fish, who spawn in my tank regularly, thinking that I could raise the fry there. The mesh is WAY too big all of the babies swam right back out and were eaten. The mesh is about the same as a normal fish net entirely too big for any fry I've seen regardless of species. If you're looking for something to actually raise babies in, look elsewhere. Also the construction of the thing was incredibly flimsy.

I loved the size of it, bigger than I expected. Easy to put together. I don't know what some of these reviewers thought when they ordered a $7 fry hatchery. Of course it is cheap plastic. Want something more sturdy, buy a more $ one. It's not going to break apart or anything. Just don't chunk it across the room.

Anywoo, I do not recommend this to anyone. My fry were in there for ONE day. ONE day. I woke up this morning, went to go feed my fish and the suction cups failed during the night. ALL of my fry around 40 new red jewel fry, itty bitty guys, got out and were eaten. Not one single one was found. The hatchery was attached by one suction cup all the way at the bottom of my tank. I was so pissed off.

I ordered two, one was for the fry, the other for a fish that the parents of the fry beat up, that fish died within a few hours of putting him in there, it held his weight just fine while he was in there on the bottom of the hatchery, but this morning, that one too was on the bottom of the tank. Failed suction cups.

This hatchery cost me a lot of money for I had planned to sell this batch of red jewels.

Way bigger than expected for my 30 gallon tank. When I removed tried removing it after only two weeks of being in there, two of the suction cup nobs broke off. Still works but disappointed in the plastics weekness. The suction cups are too strong it really only needs the top row.

Was using this to house a Lionhead Goldfish with swimmer bladder issues so he didn't have to lay at the bottom of the tank or deal with other healthy goldfish. Allowed him to eat easier since his food was contained. Very simple and straightforward design. Super simple to put together. Not super high quality but what do you expect for a few dollars? Not the most attractive thing to have in a gorgeous 125 gallon tank, but it did what I needed it to do until Bartholomew got too sick to carry on.

Want Como Green Fry Hatchery Net Breeder for Fish Tank Aquarium Discount?

For the price I can't complain. I found it useful. It has ample room for young fry to grow. The plastic is somewhat rigid and breaks easily with the slightest pressure. I had to use the time tested cure of duct tape to solve that problem. It still serves me.

Bio Safe Systems ABSHG11050 Green Clean Granular Pond Conditioners for Aquarium, 50-Pound

Bio Safe Systems ABSHG11050 Green Clean Granular Pond Conditioners for Aquarium, 50-PoundI have a 40,000 gallon pond this stuff barely did anythingit might help for 3 or 4 days and that's about it

I can use this without hurting the fish in my swimming pond. It works particularly well in warmer water like we have here. I was cautioned by a Maricopa County employee who recommended the product to use about 1/10 of what the label recommended to apply. Glad I listened because 15 cups was enough to stop a huge hair algae bloom in my 28,000 gallon pond.

Want Bio Safe Systems ABSHG11050 Green Clean Granular Pond Conditioners for Aquarium, 50-Pound Discount?

Having tried other algaecide I decided on this one, GreenClean. Followed directions for the amount to use for my small pond and after finding foam on top the water a little later and then disapating within a few days there was no noticeable difference in the green pond. No dead algae to scoop out of the pond, but as an added plus it did kill the goldfish, so I give it rave reviews for being a fish killer but zero review for algae killer.

Of course there is no money back guarantee, so I'm stuck, again with a product that I will just put in the weekly trash pickup.

Save your money, please, unless of course you like throwing money away. If you do then buy this product to kill your fish, if you have any to kill.

But to get rid of algae look somewhere else.

I did not want to give it 1 star but I can't go lower than 1.

Aqua Tech Fish Aquarium Magnetic Algae Remover

Aqua Tech Fish Aquarium Magnetic Algae RemoverI bought this magnet at a big box store for about half the price Amazon sells it for. I figured if it didn't work, I wouldn't be out much money. I use it on the little patches of algae that show up in between major monthly cleanings and the more minor water changes I make. I have three fantail goldfish in a 20 gallon glass tank and algae can build up fast. This magnet works better than I expected. It wipes these spots away instantly and keeps the tank looking great! The other review noted it didn't work on acrylic but I can attest to it's effectiveness on glass. This would not be the appropriate method to clean a lot of algae or thicker algae, as that speaks to a different issue that likely is due simply to poor maintenance or even an ill fish. But for "spot cleaning" I would definitely recommend this. Plus it is intriguing enough and simple enough for my young children to want to take part. I just set up the inner magnet and they drag it around with the outer and their hands get nowhere near the water. Definitely has my positive recommendation!

I bought this from a local store at a very cheap price thinking it could be a quick fix to scrubbing off some tough algae spots in my acrylic, hexagon aquarium that I cannot reach with my plastic-handle acrylic scraper. The Aquatech scraper's pads are like a soft felt pad and was only able to remove some soft algae, but not the more coarse algae that is more prevalent in my reef tank. I'm going to spend a little more next time & get the Mag-Float cleaner instead.

Dymax IQ3 Acrylic Aquarium - Black

Dymax IQ3 Acrylic Aquarium - BlackI read mixed reviews so I thought I would share my experience. I've had the tank up and running for a week and I'm very happy. It's a salt water tank. I just put a damsel in to help cycle the tank. In a couple weeks I'm going to add some mushrooms. The key is to do a simple water change once a week and make sure you add carbon and Rowa every so often to absorb any toxins. The LED is functioning properly and the filtration is excellent so far. I'd rather have faster moving water rather than an under powered pump. If anything breaks or burns out prematurely I will update my review. Thanks for reading :)
