Como Aquarium Clear Suction Cup Airline Tube Holders Clips Clamps 10 Pcs

Como Aquarium Clear Suction Cup Airline Tube Holders Clips Clamps 10 PcsVery disappointed that these suction cups somehow managed to leave rings on both the inside and outside of my acrylic fish tank! I tried everything to get it to come off, escalating from fingernail scratching to water to windex to Goo Gone (externally only, of course.) I tried a Magic Eraser, then a green kitchen scrubber which would up scratching up my tank even worse!

I finally had to use some plastic polish to buff out the scratches my tank sustained trying to remove whatever residue/melting/whatever these suction cups did to my tank. It looks better, but from an angle you can still tell that my brand new acrylic tank is all scuffed up. There is nothing I can do about the ring left inside my tank, because I will not risk the safety of my betta fish on even such an annoying blemish on his otherwise awesome tank.

Adding insult to injury, these do not stick on very well dry. It is hard to tell from the picture, but the airline tube holders are not clear, but white, which makes them kind of an eyesore (which I was trying to avoid by getting clear suction cups.)

Very disappointed, cannot recommend anyone with an acrylic or plastic tank use these for anything.

These little suction cups do exactly what you want them to do. Very handy for holding air lines for stones and other accessories. I guess they could be smaller as they need about 3/4" of width but then they might not hold as well. They're also pretty good for holding power lines and such on the exterior of the tank although not quite as solidly.

I needed some suction cups to hold my airline tubing in place inside of my tank, so I purchased these. At first they did alright, but after a couple days I noticed they had all popped off the side of the tank. Now, I don't have any beastly huge fish so I know it wasn't the fish knocking them off the sides. I reached back in and promptly put the suction cups back to the glass but the backs kept coming off and the suction cups refused to stay. In the short period of time when they did stick, they didn't leave marks on the glass or anything so I suppose that is a plus, and the clips on the back did hold the tubing snug. But I don't know if I'd try purchasing these again after having to fight with the ones I already own. :(

It does what it is supposed to do. Sometimes the little piece that holds the tubing come off but more than that it is ok.

Hagen A1580 8-Watt Aqua-Glo Fluorescent Bulb, 12-Inch

Hagen A1580 8-Watt Aqua-Glo Fluorescent Bulb, 12-InchI ordered this to replace a worn out bulb for my son's six gallon Marineland Eclipse tank. It fit perfectly, and the light quality is noticeably better than the tube that came with the tank. At this price, I shouldn't have waited until the old one burnt out before making the switch.

The light burnt out in my fish's (Fred's) tank. I found this lamp and it works great. My fish is happy and he grew at least another inch

TOM Reptile-House Jumbo 17-1/2 x 11-3/4 x 6-3/4

TOM Reptile-House Jumbo 17-1/2 x 11-3/4 x 6-3/4I work at a small local petstore and we needed new tanks for our reptiles. One of the main reasons i got these is because a lot of people like to take their new pet home with its tank at the store, but thats means we loose money since the glass tanks are so expensive. Now people can take their reptiles home in their Reptile Houses and i can get new ones as soon as i need them! Our reptiles love these even more than we do, I deffinetly recomend getting these for smaller snakes (corn snakes), treefrogs, hermit crabs, geckos, ect. The only reason i gave 4 stars instead of 5 was because once the bedding was down, there wasnt much viewing space so we had to move them to an eye-level shelf. But overall these are very good products!

This pump has been used as the sole sump pump in my brothers 60 gallon aquarium. It has been running non-stop for one year with about 4 feet of lift (my only complaint is that the flow is a tad slow at this height, hence the four stars, I would have chosen 4 3/4 stars if it was available). Even with the sump completely dry (forgetting to check water levels) the pump has not failed. Purchasing a second one for our pond. Pay attention to reviews that don't indicate that they purchased from amazon (other reviewers might be mistaking it for another pump).

Penn Plax Betta Aquarium Tank Kit

Penn Plax Betta Aquarium Tank KitWe have had 2 of these tanks and they seem to be OK at first. They don't look bad and it's small so it doesn't take up much space on top of a book shelf or a dresser. But we have and 2 of them. I never put the trees in because I was afraid the fish would hurt themselves on them seeing as the space is limited as it is. The first tank we used the "water release cap" every time we changed water unless I was going to clean the whole tank. One day I cleaned the tank and the next morning the water was almost completely drained, poor fish! And the DVD's, VHS videos, and the CD's I had in the shelf that the tank sat on were all wet! I was extremely unhappy so I took it back to the store and got my money back. I went back to the pet section of the store and talked to the department manager who said they have never had a problem with them and sell several. So she convinced me to get another one. I brought it home and set it up but this time I haven't used the water release cap in the bottom of the tank, I only poured the water out of the top of the tank to change it. Well, I will say that this tank lasted a little longer than the first one but again, this morning I woke up and found the poor fish almost dead in about a quarter of an inch of water and again, my shelf of CD's, DVD's, and video tapes all wet again! I have called the company this time but of course, they were busy "helping other customers" and I had to leave a message for them to get back to me. They have yet to return my call.

So, the bottom line with the product, if you value your pets and your furniture and don't want to put your fish bowl in a bowl to catch the draining water, is don't waste your time and money on this fish tank. It will cost you more in the end to replace the damage that it does than buying a decent tank to begin with will.

I was pleased with the design of this small beta tank, although ultimately it has the same limitations as the Betta View Hex.

The Penn Plax Betta Bow-Front Kit is surprisingly well-thought out: the bow-front makes for the best view possible, without the slight distortion you see in the Betta View Hex. Both come with a little gravel and tiny plant.

A nice improvement is the undergravel sifter (I can't call it a filter; there are no mechanical parts) with the drain hole (water release cap). This hole makes it easy to remove debris and water from the bottom, since it's really too small to get my gravel vacuum in.

I had to force my gravel vacuum into the Betta View Hex to clean it, which disturbed my white female housed inside and quickly sucked out half of the water before I could properly vacuum the gravel. With the Bow-Front, this isn't an issue, and it's easy to replace 20% of the water weekly, or as needed.

Another improvement is the little slot to slide the fake plant bottom into, so it doesn't float free and drift around above the betta, like the plant does in the Betta View Hex.

I like the top better, too. It has two depressions for easy lifting, and larger air holes than the Betta View Hex. I can even feed my betta through these slots, and help keep the warm air inside by not removing the cover.

The Bow-Front Kit's gravel is marketed as 'waste-absorbing crystal', and the manufacturers recommend monthly replacement.

Unfortunately, the Betta Bow Front Kit I brought home from Wal-Mart had a crack along one of the seams, and it is growing. I didn't notice the crack until my steel blue boy was already housed in it. When I purchase his larger home, I will exchange this product for a new one. As always with Wal-Mart products, look over your purchases carefully. I've seen too many imperfect returns placed right back on the shelf.

To sum, if you have a choice between the Hex View and the Bow-Front, the Bow-Front is a superior product.

Note These tiny betta homes get toxic for your fish very fast if you don't change the water on a near-daily basis. If you can keep up with this level of care, this is a very nice mini-tank. Alternatively, you can remove your sick bettas to this tank from their larger homes if you need to treat them for an illness like ich.

Aqueon 06111 Aquarium Water Changer Extension, 20-Foot

Aqueon 06111 Aquarium Water Changer Extension, 20-FootWe bought this for more hose length to maintain tanks that are far away from water sources. One reason I chose the Aqueon hose to begin with was the relative stiffness of the hose. I don't want kinks in the line while I am stringing water across the house. However, the extension hose is NOT the same tubing that was used on the original and does have a tendency to kink. This is not to say it's as flimsy as the cheap tubing you can buy at the hardware store, but it doesn't hold up the way the original hose does. I don't have an alternative to suggest, but do keep in mind that it's a bit flimsy.

I've had several aquarium syphons over the years and I'm quite satisfied with Aqueon. I'll have to say that the 20' extension needs improvement when it comes to construction and design. The hose is not wide enough to allow sufficient water flow once it's connected to the main syphon. A wider hose would help. I believe this is due to the plastic connector that is used to attach the extension to the main hose. The most important improvement I would suggest is the material of the connector fragile PVC plastic. The connector is very sensitive and when I tightened one end to the main hose it broke. It's not that I over tightened the connector, it's just made out of cheap plastic. An aluminum connector or maybe a stronger material would make this product useful. I'll have to make my own connector to be able to use the extension without a leak on my living room floor. Decent product cheap material.

Green Killing Machine Internal 24 Watts UV Sterilizer with Power Head

Green Killing Machine Internal 24 Watts UV Sterilizer with Power HeadI have a 50 Gal Tank, with a variety of community fish appx 20 fish total, i have 2 snails, and a pleco. the tank is filtered by Fluval 305.

When i first set the tank up it was great, water couldnt be clearer. over time, it would accumulate floating algae (ALOT),so much algae that you could not see any of the fish, or any of the ornaments, and i would be doing anywhere from 20% to 50% water changes every week or every other week because it would get so bad, and sometimes the water changes would have very little to no effect on slowing down the algae growth. i DID NOT want to try chemicals because i find alot of people say that it just stresses out the fish, and i didnt want to try chemical treatment also because i didnt like the idea of having it in the water. so i started doing some research on how to make the situation better. i saw alot of diffrent styles of UV sterilizers (more expensive in MOST cases) and the fact that you need to buy/or already have a power head for them was not helping the situation financially. i came across AA's product and read a dozen reviews or so, where 9 out of 10 were positive.

i really love the fact that it is self contained, has it's own pump, filter, and UV light.. the instructions lack quality images and is a bit cumbersome to follow at first, but when you sit down and actually just look at the image of the unit on the box, you can figure out how to put it together yourself. the reason i bought the (24W) unit is because i felt that i had maybe a worse case than usual algae problem because there is sunlight from 2 windows hitting the tank (by the way, i tried cutting the light out of the tank, did not work)

Setup took literally 10 min, from out of the box to running in the tank, and was NO HASSLE at all. the first 24 hrs or so, i didn't really see a difference. then at 48 hrs i started to see like a milky but clearer situation in the tank, at the end of the third day, things were looking good but not perfect yet, finally on ONLY the 4th day, i can see not only the fish and ornaments, but straight through to the back of the tank!. i feel that this product works Extremely Efficiently and is a must have for anyone with algae/bacteria problems. the money i used to buy this product was very well spent, and i don't think there is a better unit within the price range to beat this. i can expect that in the next few days or so the water WILL BE clearer than tap water (ive read in reviews that its actually clearer than bottled water), i am very much looking forward to this.

i would give this product 10 stars out of 5 , that is how much i love it. it works great, IS QUIET (cant hear it AT ALL), and is very easy to set up. Would recommend to Everyone with an aquarium

With no UV sterilizer installed I have insane algae issues with my turtle tank. Think Shamrock Shake. A full water change and this Green Killing Machine installed and there's no sign of algae developing 2 weeks in. It's in a 75 gallon tank. I like that it lives inside the tank, so there's no potential for leaking. The setup they have to power the UV lamp and the included powerhead from one AC adapter is pretty spiffy. I replaced a leaking 15W Pentair Lifeguard with this, and it's 24W vs the Pentair's 15W, for half the cost.

It's toy-like product name and low price had me a little dubious of its quality, but so far its living up to it's title.

Buy Green Killing Machine Internal 24 Watts UV Sterilizer with Power Head Now

Keeping fish for the past 40 years and experimeting with U.V Sterilizers for the past seven my read on them is that tanks fitted with the right sized unit is a definite plus. What had put me off about UV systems was the need for pumps, tubing , plumbing and the overall hassle of installing them .

This unit includes the pump requires no hoses or tubing to run and nothing extra to buy you can literally take this out of the box, attach inside your tank or sump, plug it in and that's that.

Regarding the selling of UV in general there is far to much emphasis on green algae. Removing algae is little more than a side benefit. What UV does extremely well is remove disease causing pathogens and harmful bacteria from the water. Especially important in well stocked tanks. What U. V sterilizers do is pull in water which flows past an encased in clear quartz tube and is exposed to UV light, which kills up to 99% of harmful pathogens. So more important than GPH or anything else for that matter is the exposure time with which water passes by the UV bulb.

I think marketing this as a "Green Killing Machine" is probably a smart idea and would get the attention of hobbyists who otherwise could give a hoot about the other benefits of UV. However if your algae is due to things like too much full spectrum light, over feeding or poor water water parameters this is just a bandaid that will only at it's best disguise the real and significant problems facing your aquarium.

What is more, this unit a incedibly cumbersome three seperate components and a myraid of wires both inside and outside the tank make this a potentially dangerous product for fish as well as humans. Much like the spiral design of the Coral Life systems, the zig zag interior of this system employs this same kind of theory in design to add as much exposure time to the UV and in my book that trumps GPG ratings which are usually false to begin with. However, this isn't to say GPH isn't important of course it is and this is also the key area of this design that's lacking.

The MFG doesn't list the GPH because it's so terribly low. Using a Hach instrumentation flow meter which works on sound waves and runs about 3 grand this pump has a flow rate of 11.2 GHP which is unacceptable for any size tank even though the unit contains a whopping 24 watt UV lamp. In addition remember UV can't penetrate glass without being diluted hence, quartz fashioned into a true lens is used as housing. Because the unit is effective although extremly slow my best guess is fused glass is used. Fused glass is a combination of quartz and glass and is a fraction of the cost of pure quartz. To replace the cover of the included 24 watt bulb with pure quartz at a rock bottom price would cost you $65-$75

The enormous tangle of wires and having the control box outside on the wall or back of the tank is an accident waiting to happen not to mention, the suction cups used on the outside are weak and the unit falls off frequently. They call this "child proofing" -and it's nonsense. Any child is going to be more inclined to pull something off the tank that's just sitting there than figure out a way to get their hands into the aquarium.

Take a pass on this particular unit until they at least address it's many flaws.

** Never use a UV Sterilizer in a new or still cycling aquarium, these are for established aquariums only Plus you don't need to run UV 24/7 twelve hours a day or less is fine for most applications. It's a good idea to plug the unit into a dedicated power strip or use with a timer since these don't have an on/off switch**

** You can increase the efficiency of any UV Steelier, your filter and the overall health of your tank by adding a small water circulator. If you don't need a power head these are ideal. The keep the current in your tank even and eliminate cold and hot spots. The temperature will be uniform. The current keeps particulate matter waterborne making it easier for things like filters and UV systems to do a better job. Brown algae and green algae spores are poor swimmers, the current helps keep them from attaching to tank walls and sides and off any ornaments, dried corals, rocks and so on.

I recommend the ones by Aqueon they're silent, do a great job, install right out of the box and are a fraction of the cost of most others.

My 120 gallon tank gets a good bit of natural light. I set it up in October and about 2 months later the water went from clear to slime green in a couple days. I couldn't see an inch into the tank. I did some research, but decided with the natural light that it would probably come back, so I got the green killing machine and hoped for the best. My water cleared up about a day after putting it in the tank and has stayed clear!

Sure it clears the water. Help get rid of things like ich? Doubt it natural supplements like garlic have been the trick for me. Another reviewer mentioned the cables, yeah they are a little messy. The suction cups on the powerbox stink, they hold for about 3 hours on clean glass. The suction cups on the unit itself do not hold at all. I have this in my refugium and its not mounted because it wont stay mounted... Clean the sponge/prefilter often. It does clear up green water /excessive algae but i didnt have a problem with that anyway. A friend had turned me on to this as he had problem algae and this did great work in a matter of days. Water changes and good husbandry would do the same though... I wouldnt buy this again but i wouldnt discourage you from buying it since it is available at the major pet store chains and replacement parts/units are available and its cheap.

Marina I25 Internal Filter

Marina I25 Internal FilterIt's a nice little filter, works well with low flow. I have it in a betta tank and it gets the water circulated without pushing the betta around. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because I wish there were more options for filter cartridges. Once a tank is cycled, you shouldn't remove or replace the filter media or you will cause the tank to cycle again, which can kill fish. This filter only has cartridges that have a teensy bio sponge, then a compartment for carbon, and another compartment for ammonia absorbing media. Once a tank is cycled, there's no need for carbon or ammonia absoribing media, and these two things stop working after a week or two and need to be replaced anyway. To solve this problem, I took some cut-to-fit filter floss and used fishing line to "sew" it into a pillow the same size as the cartridge, then stuffed it with bio beads and sewed it closed. It fits into the filter and doesn't obstruct the flow and I can use it for years with nothing more than a swish in a bucket of conditioned water.

I installed this filter yesterday afternoon in my 2 gallon betta tank with a brand new fish. This unit is easy to install, disassemble and clean. It is so small that it should fit easily in any size aquarium that has at least one flat side. It appears to be working great so far. It is powerful, but gentle and nearly silent. I placed a weighted silk plant in front of the intake to break up the current just a bit. My new betta (Wavy) is quite small (

EcoBio-Block Stone for Aquariums, Medium

EcoBio-Block Stone for Aquariums, MediumI know many people might feel this stone does nothing to aquarium. Before buying it i have done tons of research.I have searched many forums where users tested this for many months and noted the readings at different stages.I finally bought it as it was 100% money back guarantee.

To my surprise,it worked so well in my 26 gallon aquarium. Before adding the stone to my aquarium i get water tested by pet smart. They told me that i have high ammonia and nitrates.I changed water immediately and added this stone.

With in a week i find my water to be very very clean.I never felt so before.I have 3 gold fishes in my aquarium.as gold fish need 10 gallons per fish.my fishes are of average size of 4 inches. And gold fishes are really dirty. But this stone worked so well that i never saw there waste any more.water was also not smelling at all.

i get my water tested yesterday and the same petsmart told me every thing looks good.So i added one more gold fish. Moreover i changed water one more time yesterday after 6 weeks.

Why i am adding this review is because as i couldn't find any review in amazon for this stone. So i felt this review will be helpful for those who are on fence to buy it or not.

I tried every product on the market to get rid of my cloudy tank. Nothing worked. And I personally hate the hassle of water changes. When I came across this product, I figured it was worth a shot. Within a month or so, I was so amazed that I had clear water!! And it has stayed so every since :-) All water tests look good and I hardly ever do water changes anymore. I love me clear aquarium and will never go back to using anything else besides this product. Highly recommend to friends and aquarium owners. It really works!!

Through researching online, i was under the assumption this would help with the cloudiness & some "bad" algea growth in my tank due to over-population. I have breeder fish and figured it was worth a shot to see what these stones could possibly do to help my situation.

A couple yrs back, I bought some fish for tank and they happened to breed like crazy, which was not my intention. At the time, i didnt know much about tanks, fish, etc. These stones really did and still do help with cloudiness and the bad algea, i was surprised. I am not an expert, still learning, but the rocks really do help. I still need to change water and bought at ro/di water purification system and both my freshwater and saltwater are clear and free of green hair algea and cyano bacteria.

I had a cloudy 35 gallon tank set up for over two weeks... after I put the Eco-Bio block (large size) into the tank, it cleared up with-in a couple of days.... that was four weeks ago, now I see a little cloudyness again... I probably did the dirty deed of feeding too much at a time1 So I will change out five gallons of water....

I am on my 2nd stone. I got my first one when I was starting my fish tank. I have a 29gal. The whole time the water was clear and I wondered if the stone was doing anything. A little over a month ago I noted that the water seemed to be getting cloudier. I did my usual water changes, vacuuming the gravel, filter change and nothing. same cloudy water. The stone was supposed to last a year and half, but mine lasted maybe not quite a year. I decided to get a new stone. On reading the directions, It states that it needs to be near an area with access to aerated water (bubbles) because the bacteria released are aerobic. I remembered that I increased the water level for a few months so that the water level would not get too low while gone on a series of trips. I think the water level was too high for the bubbles to get down to the stone, thus the premature failure of the stone. (My only source of aeration is the filter as it cascades water onto the surface and the force of gravity pushes the bubbles down to the stone.)

I recently got a 2nd stone and a couple weeks later after usual cleaning and filter change, I have clear water in my fish tank again. This stone totally rocks!

I will get this so long as I have a fish tank.

TOM Aquarium Rapids Mini Canister hang-on-the-tank C-80, 80gph

TOM Aquarium Rapids Mini Canister hang-on-the-tank C-80, 80gphI'm using this for a 10gal heavily planted freshwater tank. It's very quiet and the spray bar discharge is excellent for my plants. The output stem arrived broken but Amazon sent me an entire new unit and TOM sent a replacement part, excellent service from both. The best feature is the ease in using custom filter materials. I use an AquaClear 300 sponge on one side and BioMax in the other. Seems to do the trick. No stop valve to help maintenance, as in more expensive canister filters, but at this price it's understandable.

UPDATE: My shipping charge for returning the original unit were also refunded, Amazon's return policy is excellent!

UPDATE 2: Jan. 2012, it leaks, replaced it with a Finnex 360. It's a little larger, we'll see how long this lasts.

I got this to use with a 2 gallon betta tank. The plan was to use it as a filter and also increase total amount of water. It seemed perfect as the spray bar would avoid causing a current which my betta does not like. For some reason i just assumed that it would have a flow control, but, as it turns out, there is no flow control and the spay bar sprays water much like that in a kitchen sink. Its way too powerful for smaller tanks. Dont bother with this for tanks 5 gallons or less. The quality of the hoses are suspect, they dont seem like they would last. I got the palm azoo instead for my 2 gallon betta and its perfect! The flow control turned all the way down provides a gentle filter output.

11/02/2010 CORRECTION. It's been two weeks so far and water is clear. Thank you Bubba. ..and Yes this filter seem to be capable of producing crystal-clear water.

CONS: The filter never produces crystal-clear water, it always murky. Filter requires cleaning weekly. Perhaps it's just not powerful enough for a 10 gal tank.

PROS: Whisper quiet. Quick and easy set-up and maintenance.

Initial thoughts:

The filter is dead silent. I switched from a HOB Whisper filter to this canister filter.. and wow. After leaving the room it's being used in for several hours and walking back in, I thought it had stopped workingI couldn't hear a thing!

The filter media included is so-so. Though I haven't been able to see how well the ceramic media works, I can already tell that the other included media wasn't all that great. Read up on what kind of filtration you want(chemical, mechanical, biological, etc.) and make your own media.

SO FAR, the only con I have:

The hoses. They're tragically short and hard to manipulate. You can't bend them into place at all. I may switch out the included hose for a different one.

I spent a good quarter of an hour wrestling with the hoses to let the water distribute through my TEN GALLON tank as efficiently as possible, and it's still not what I want. Oh well.

Overall, it's easy to modify this little canister with your own filter media, it's silent, and it's powerful.

----EDIT----

I've had this sucker running for a month, so it's time for an update.

The hoses seem to have loosened a bit, so that's kind of nice. I'm still planning on replacing them with longer and more flexible tubing if I can.

No leaks, no damage, the impeller is still running smoothly without any noise.

You'll want to make a media basket for the ceramic. I'm working on a plan to make a partition for the side that gets the water from the tank so the pipe leading in isn't so difficult to shove back in after cleaning. Again, if you're going to get this filter, prepare to play around with the filter media.

ALSOthis little guy does NOT have a shut off valve. Be warned! Not only can this make things messy but it can be difficult to prime the filter again. I'll add shut off valves when I replace the hoses so I don't get fish water all over my dorm. If you don't build one, get a bucket or cut a gallon milk jug in half to catch any water that comes out and QUICKLY lift the top of the filter above your tank to stop the water flow!

So far, it's working great on my little planted tank. It's perfect for my Betta boy and his Corydoras catfish friends. My bio load may be small at the moment, but it's keeping the water wonderfully clean with minimal maintenance on both the tank and the filter.

Overall, this filter has some major flaws, but it is great for the price you pay.

----Last edit----

The filter has been running strong for almost a year now. Still silent and still good at what it does. If I have any complaint it's that this little guy has ruined HOB filters for me.

Admittedly, I never bothered with replacing the tubing, but I will update if I do.

Ok first off this canister filter has great potential i bought one on sale when i saw the carbon bag in it i immediately tossed it out (garbage). how to set it up : first get a peice of bio foam and cut it to fit snug on top of intake side then put some aquarium cotton , then cut a polishing pad to size then u have the ceramic rings at the bottom on the return side i put in a marine land activated carbon bag wrapped it around the return tube , wallah pro filtration five stage filter in seconds i use it for my 20 g long marine tank and the water is crystal clear for a whole month !!!then flow starts to slow down no problem just do ur monthly maintenance and flow will be back to normal. Great product Cheers!!!!

Jardin Pine Design Aquarium Fish Tank Plastic Plant Ornament

Jardin Pine Design Aquarium Fish Tank Plastic Plant OrnamentI really do enjoy the look of this item. There is one issue however, it floats. It is very difficult to get this to stick in substrate, and with fish bumping into it and such, I was constantly putting my arm in the tank to put this back down. I did finally decide to take it out of the tank, which is a shame, because it did look very neat.

It was a little bigger than I thought...using it in a 5 gallon aquarium. However, it is still perfect and looks amazing. Would be ideal for any aquarium larger than 5 gallon.

The plastic plant is just the right size and shape to become a natural looking piece in my aquarium. The base is loog and wide enough to get a solid footing in the gravel.

This tree is not worth the cost. Its small. Like one gallon fish bowl small, and it floats! What type of aquarium plant floats. I had to glue stones to it, to get it to sink.

no matter how I bury it the minute a fish bumps it, it floats to the top. not worth the trouble.

Finnex 50-Watt Hang-On Digital Controller Aquarium Heater, Titanium Tube, 10 to 20-Gallon

Finnex 50-Watt Hang-On Digital Controller Aquarium Heater, Titanium Tube, 10 to 20-GallonActually, I'd give this 4.5 stars.

Keeps my 10 gallon tank within 1-2 degrees as advertised and seems sturdy enough to last a long time.

What I did not know from the product description and pictures on Amazon is that this unit also has a separate wired temperature sensor which also needs to be placed into the tank along with the heating element (but located far enough away from it so as not to be reading too high). So you actually have 3 pieces of equipment all connected together.

Also, the two suction cups on the heating element, while clinging to the glass with ease, tend to slide around with the gentlest of pressure. If you want to place your heating element just right you will have to be very careful not to move the cords or disturb anything that touches it.

Pros:

Solidly built

Keeps temp to within 2 degrees

No glass parts to crack

Separate sensor placed away from heater gives a more accurate reading

Digital readout of current temperature

High temperature safety shut-off feature

Cons:

Separate sensor is just another thing that will take up space in a small tank (albiet it is small itself)

Suction cups on heater slide on glass easily if disturbed

Main cord to heating element could be a bit longer

So far, this heater has been stable holding temps on my Eheim Aquastyle 9 tank (rimless design). Setting seems easy enough.

My only concern is that in my application the cable that goes into the tank for the heating unit itself is fairly thick and causes the glass lid for my particular tank to not sit flat. I've lost a couple of shrimp that climbed over the edge due to this. I'm in the process of creating a new top cover that will have a notch for the heater cable so that the cover can sit closer to the edge of the glass and hopefully avoid any more escapee issues.

I think the product could be slightly improved by using a flat power cable like the heater that I upgraded from used.

My situation is probably not common, so for most tanks this seems like a very good product.

its been workin great and very easy to use, heater element is shorter than expected, I know it only comes with a 6 month warranty so we see if it lasts past the mark

I really like this heater. Its very short so it will fit in most hob filters and be out of sight.

I also like that it has a digital programmable read out, which makes it much easier to read and set the temp.

If you need a small submersible heater this is it. :>)

This worked great -for as long as it worked. Suddenly after 6 months, it burned out: The middle of the heating element is now black. Since it has only a 180 day warranty, we were out of luck. the manufacturer offered to replace component parts of it for a fee -but we would have to ship the unit back to them and we couldn't leave the tank without a heater. So we replaced it with a $10 heater that has a two-year warranty, so that heater could go out three times in a year and we'd still come out comparitively ahead. I'm extremely disappointed in this unit and manufacturer.
