Coralife 05477 Straight Pin Compact Fluorescent Lamp, 65-Watt, 10K

Coralife 05477 Straight Pin Compact Fluorescent Lamp, 65-Watt, 10KGreat for a planted tank would recommend buying this one ! You wont be disappointed with the quality of the light

I use this for my 30 gallon refugium. It creates plenty of Coralin Algae and my plants that keep my Nitrates in Check thrive with it. My fixture has a cooling fan and hopefully yours does to as it it gets a little warm down there. Raises my water temp more than the LED's on my tank. The best part of it is the color of the light. Works excellent for what I need it for.

Aquatic Creations Hornwort Aquarium Plant, Orange/Red

Aquatic Creations Hornwort Aquarium Plant, 8-Inch, Orange/RedTHERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS AND IS VERY COLORFUL. I THOUGHT IT WAS SILK OR RAYON BUT TURNED OUT TO BE PLASTIC WHICH IT DOES SAY IN THE AD. FORTUNATELY IT IS SOFT AND IS WHY I AM KEEPING IT.

MY BETTA NEEDS TO BE MOVED INTO A 2.5 TANK FROM A 1 GALLON SO I NEEDED TALLER FAKE PLANTS. HE RESTS/SLEEPS IN ONE LIKE IT'S A BED. I ALSO ORDERED A MATERIAL ONE SO I'LL SEE HOW THEY BOTH DO.

ADDED 7/23/2013 I am changing my comment to add that this is not like plastic but like a soft rubber. My Betta has taken to it so I would say go ahead an order it. Everything is all set up and he has been in his new larger home with all new things and is happy to have all this room. I would definately order more if the time comes.

AL-H24DD: Finnex RAY II High Output Unibody Ultra Slim LED Fixture - 24" Daylight

AL-H24DD: Finnex RAY II High Output Unibody Ultra Slim LED Fixture - 24' DaylightWho knew LEDs would make their way into the aquatic industry? I was looking into several products when I decided to get an additional light for my aquarium to convert it into a planted tank, and it seemed that LEDs were the best choice because they did not run (as) hot as fluorescents and the wattage is a lot less in comparison as well. I was looking into several Marineland products like the Marineland Aquatic Plant LED Lighting System w/ TIMER 18-24", but to be honest, it's a bit overpriced. By comparison, the finnex is more than half the price of the Marineland. Don't get me wrong, I love the company and it's products are usually of great quality and efficiency, but the LEDs are more expensive than they should be.

However, I wasn't sure whether LED's had the potential to be as bright. Well, let me tell you now, the Finnex is pretty dang bright. It pretty much illuminates the aquarium in bright daylight, emphasizing the colors of the plants, fish, rocks, and *gasp* the clarity/clearness of the water. My plants are growing pretty well. I am really glad that I did not go with the Marineland because I don't really need the moonlights it's cool and everything, but it's just a gimmick for blue light. I have the Marineland LED Aquarium Hood 20 by 10 and the moon lights seem a little artificial and fake. Not that natural, which is the look I'm assuming most of you are going for.

One thing that I surprised me a bit was how small it was and how hot it ran. It's not super hot, but enough to not be "cool". By the way, it's very well-made. It's solid, but I guess that comes from the unibody construction.

Overall, I'm pretty impressed with the light it's a tremendous value over other competitors and I saved a lot of money by deciding to go with the Finnex.

I have had many aquarium led lights. This is by far the brightest of them all. I am very pleased with it. It is brighter than the Marineland Reef Led lights by far. There are a couple things I would suggest they improve on. The cord that comes with the light is too short and there needs to be longer sizes. A 36 inch and a 48 inch version would be eagerly awaited upon by the aquarium hobby. Looking at the light when not turned on I thought I had bought another hyped up led not living up to its name, but when I turned it on I got a burst of sunshine I didn't think possible from a fixture this size. Overall I give an excited thumbs up for this product.

This light is amazing, I received it today and put it on my tank. Wow this is amazing! I have a biocube 29 gallons and it fits perfectly. My corals opened up well, especially my leather corals. Its like a balloon that someone inflated it. And my overheating issue with biocube lid is gone. My only complaint is that the power cord is too short, like really really short. With my biocube and its stand the cord doesnt even touch the floor. Im still very happy overall because of the price, capability and quality of the product. Best bang for the buck!

Stability, 100 mL / 3.4 fl. oz.

Stability, 100 mL / 3.4 fl. oz.My turtle tank was a disaster after I did a complete water and filter change. Within days it was completely cloudy and we couldn't see a thing. I was told it was a bad bacteria bloom. So I did a half-tank change and added this stabilizer, then another capful every day for a week -now my tank is crystal clear once again!

Jardin Plastic Y-Shaped 10-Piece Airline Air Tubing Connectors for Aquarium, ClearThese are exactly what they claim to be. They work just fine and normal aquarium airline is a good tight fit. The only drawback is the length of time shipping takes.

K&H 9000 Ice Eliminator BirdBath 50-Watt De-Icer

K&H 9000 Ice Eliminator BirdBath 50-Watt De-IcerIt finally got cold enough to try this out. So far, it seems to work very well. Temperatures have been in the 20s and 30s and it keeps a 12" circle of water ice-free. The birds have definitely been taking advantage of it.

It mentions this in the description, but I missed it initially, so I just thought I would reiterate that this heater is thermostatically controlled, so it only turns on when necessary. That's nice, as thermostatic plugs cost twenty bucks or more.

[UPDATE]

My circuit breaker tripped and the birdbath water froze. When I turned it back on, the heater thawed its way out of a solid block of ice at 5 degrees F. I'd say that it works pretty well!

I had procrastinated when it came to getting a bird bath heater. Winter came on later this year, but I had still for some reason waited until the bath was frozen solid to actually decide on what one to get. I was pleasantly suprised to find that by morning this little heater had melted all the way to the bottom of the bath. I don't have a bad thing to say about this product. The cord is a bit unruly, but I suspect that is the case no matter what heater I would have put in. Despite only being a 50 watt heater it has to date always kept the bird bath open, even on those nights where it got below zero and the wind chills were in the -30 range.

When the temp went down below zero for 4 or 5 days in a row, the heater was able to keep a small area free from ice in the bird bath for them to access the water all the time. It is nice to see the animals getting something to drink when everything else around them is frozen solid.

As for my electric bill, I did not notice a difference when using the heater during the months of Jan or Feb. The 50 watt heater is enough to keep some of the water accessible, but not kill my electric bill.

K&H Bird Bath Ice Eliminator This birdbath heater looks natural in the birdbath (unlike a coil) and can be painted if you want to. It's an energy miser at just 50 watts of power (others use 4 times more at 200 watts). At 11 cents per Kwhr., this heater costs just 13 cents/day or $3.90/month to operate, before considering the thermostat feature. The built-in thermostate turns this unit off at temperatures above 40 degrees. Your actual operating cost is probably $2 per month. That's a cheap price to pay for the entertainment of seeing birds year 'round at the birdbath. In the zero degree weather it still keeps a sufficient area ice-free, which is all the birds need. The birds seem to really appreciate it when there's no other sources of water. I've had mine for 4 winters now. I'm sure my 'bird-buddies' are glad I got it.

Want K&H 9000 Ice Eliminator BirdBath 50-Watt De-Icer Discount?

This is a good deicer. The size is nice and will fit in most bird baths. In the cold New England winters it does not put out enough heat to keep the entire bird bath free of ice when it gets really cold outside but usually at least half is ice free. I like the auto temperature sensor so that it turns off on the warmer days. The only downside to this product is the length of the cord. I would have to run an extension cord no matter how long its cord was but I would prefer it if the cord was a couple of feet longer. The birds certainly do appreciate having a drinking source in the cold weather.

Python No Spill Clean and Fill Aquarium Maintenance System, 50-Feet

Python No Spill Clean and Fill Aquarium Maintenance System, 50-FeetNo more buckets, need I say more?? It vaccums and fills, and was very easy to install (took about 5 min to set up)! Filled my 30 gal tank in just a couple minutes. Now my buckets are used for washing the car.

I originally owned the 25 foot model and loved it we moved and I needed the 50 foot model. Cleaning our 150 gallon aquarium (36" height) is a breeze with this thing, and nary a drop of water hits the floor. I can't imagine changing the water using any other method. When we first got our aquarium the Python system was recommended to us, and I would pass the same recommendation on to any other aquarium owner/enthusiast. Buy it. Buy it now.

The Python does everything it says that it will do and does it well. Unfortunately the connections are made of cheap plastic and will crack and break if you even slightly over-tighten them.

I bought this as a replacement for another No Spill Clean and Fill that I purchased in 2002. The hose had split because of a kink in the hose that resulted from storage. The negative about this product is that it is very difficult to store. After awhile, no matter how much you unravel the hose, it will kink and be extremely difficult to roll back up. Still, the hose lasted 4 years, which makes it a decent investment.

In terms of water changes, it really depends on the size of your tanks. I have a 50 gallon, and it helps to use the Python for large water changes. *Frequent* water changes, which are supposed to increase as a result of using this product (according to Python themselves), aren't really that frequent because like I said above, it's a pain to unroll and roll back up. I would say that for anything less than 50 gallons, it's probably easier to bring out the bucket and siphon.

Overall, this is a good product. I just wish there was an easier way to store the thing.

No cheap china construction. Melnor valves and high durability hose. I have 4 large koi in a 75 gallon tank, the water needs to be changed often. I use this twice a week to drain off 1/4 of the water and replenish it. Note that if you are not on a well, you have to add the appropirate amount of de toxifier manually. Prime works best.

The cylander is great for cleaing gravel, and the hose attachments are firm.

The key here is gravity, for best results you have to have a water source below the level of the tank. Out the window or in my case out the sliding glass door to a spigot outside the garage.

You twist the bottom of the spigot connector to shift from siphon to pump.
