You know some things are not built to last, but this brand pump gets 5 STARS! We have had these for 12-15 years and they still work flawlessly just as they did the day we purchased them. Actually, we might have a few older than that, but it's been so long I can't remember. WISE INVESTMENT!

I bought this pump back in May 2010 my aquarium is I believe to be about 40 gallons may be a little larger I use two airiator wands in this aquarium, this little pump I thought might not be big enough to supply enough air but it does a very good job it does as good as my old pump that was much bigger the only problem with it is that does vibrate pretty much but if you set it on a piece of cardboard or something similar it works quite well overall for the money it is a really great deal.

Bought this to make compost tea in a 5 gallon bucket. I might have a defective unit because it won't make bubbles unless the end of the tubing is less than 1/2 inch from water surface. I noticed on the pump it has only 2.5 psi.

EDIT:

OK, my error. I had used a hose that did not seat properly. With the correctly sized hose this little pump worked great and percolated my compost tea in two days.
