Vibran-Sea Narrow Eel Grass Silk-Style Aquarium Plant, Extra-Large 18-19 tall, Plum

Vibran-Sea Narrow Eel Grass Silk-Style Aquarium Plant, Extra-Large 18-19 tall, PlumNot sturdy enough, it just lies down in the water. Pretty color though. Just wish it would float in the water like it looks in the picture.

After having it in my tank for over a half year, it still looks terrific. Looks like it will do well. It's much more attractive than my previous aquarium "plants" that were all plastic.

I have a very tall tank and measured about 18 inches to the top. Figured long skinny plant would be able to reach the top (since other reviews made it clear that the bulkier plants sink). Well, this one sinks too it's about half as tall as it was when dried. Still, the color is incredible and they look great, so I'm keeping them.

TOM Aquarium Aqua Lifter Pump Holder

TOM Aquarium Aqua Lifter Pump HolderI own three of these pumps. They work great, just a workhorse at getting the job done...reliably. Set up is easy. I am using them for my HOB skimmer as well as for automatic topoff support. A classic pump in the aquarium trade, for good reason.

Easy to use and works great.hangs where you want it and is not bulky. I have mine hanging on the back of my tank out of sight.

All Glass Aquarium AAG21782 Fluorescent Deluxe Hood, 26bf

All Glass Aquarium AAG21782 Fluorescent Deluxe Hood, 26bfThe review below is pretty harsh, I just got this because I was in desperate need of a hood, and it's actually pretty decent or at least what you'd expect for a fish tank hood :)

I got a deal on a 26-gallon bow front tank and stand from my local pet store $50 but didn't include a hood. Based on the measurements, the tank (which could very well be an Aqueon tank) matched the dimensions of this hood close enough to chance it.

As it turns out, this hood is an AQUEON-brand hood, as mentioned below and comes in Aqueon packaging. So if you have an Aqueon 26 bow-front tank, I'd wager this is the hood meant for it. It comes with a Fluorescent light (which is probably why it's called the Flo Deluxe).

Here's my thoughts:

' It shipped right away and arrived after 2 days It came 4 days ahead of the earliest estimated arrival time.

' The fitment is perfect side to side, but leaves a small gap from front to back However, that gap it isn't large enough to cause any water to be exposed, or even be noticeable unless you're looking at it closely. It still rests on both the front and back ledge. The gap may be to allow the hood enough space to open and close (the entire front of the hood flips up).

' The fluorescent light is bright it illuminates my entire tank however this was actually the biggest negative to me. It it gives a purple tint to all the white objects in the tank / "black-light" effect which can be either good or bad. Personally I'm not digging it at the moment, but I don't like fluorescent lights period.

' The material is average black fish-tank plastic with textured effect.

' It's a hood that fits a weird size/shape tank, when you need a hood that fits a weird size/shape tank. It's functional, and it's good enough quality for a fish tank :)

This hood was terrible, i ordered it for my Aqueon 26 Bow Front Aquarium. The hood you receive, IS and Aqueon, but it is made of very cheap plastic and it doesn't fit the aquarium correctly. every time you move the hood just a little bit, it dips down into the aquarium. I was very disappointed in this product and now I have to pay to return this garbage. The one thing i did like about this hood, was the light itself. It was a very nice light fixture and the bulb was bright. But other than that i don't like it. I would suggest to anyone who wants to buy this, to just purchase a 26 Bow Front Aquarium Glass Canopy and a separate light fixture, or just making the Canopy yourself with some plexi-glass.

This arrived on time and in perfect condition. It fits my tank like a glove. I'm not sure why other reviews say it doesn't fit right and slips into their tank. I wish I could have ordered the oak colored hood, but that wasn't available. So black will have to do.

this hood came at the right price and is pretty sturdy quality. it's not the most intense hood i've ever seen, but it works just fine and looks good! also, it came VERY quickly. i'm a fan!

Spectrastone Permaglo Orange Aquarium Gravel for Freshwater Aquariums, 5-Pound Bag

Spectrastone Permaglo Orange Aquarium Gravel for Freshwater Aquariums, 5-Pound BagMy 8 year old grandson decided for his birthday he wanted his room done in neon orange (his favorite color). Didn't know how I was going to be able to change his aquarium to match his room. This stone was perfect. Thank you.

Shipping was great got here days after ordering even tho it said it would take much longer. The color of the gravel however is not as shown. It is much lighter and nothing special. petco's is the same orange and costs a couple bucks less. if bought in stores a lot less. Dont waste your money unless the only thing you are worried about is a quick delivery.

Marineland Single Bright LED Lighting System

Marineland Single Bright LED Lighting System 18-24-InchI have a number of freshwater planted 10 gallon tanks. I own both the Marineland Single Bright and the Double Bright models. While the double bright is in fact double the brightness, they are narrowly concentrated and the plant growth is affected by the placement of the plants directly below the LEDs. This is also a huge problem if you have any floating plants blocking certain LEDs from reaching the light below.

While a bit less bright, the Single Bright evenly covers the tank with behavior similar to a single T8 light. The plant growth for low light plants such as Java Moss and Java Fern can be kept without worrying about algae problems, especially if you "tape to block" the blue LEDs since there is not a separate switch to turn just the blue LEDs off. Because of the number of LEDs present, the floating plants or placement of the plants are much more forgiving than the Double Bright model.

While the light works fine on black substrate, my recommendation is to go with natural or "whiter" substrate to allow the light reflections to help spread the coverage.

Lastly, the power adapter is detachable at the cord that plugs in right next to the on/off switch. This is very convenient since the light can be quickly unplugged and moved out of the way. The Double Bright has the cord permanently attached, so moving the light is not as easy.

Strongly recommended for anyone looking to lower the cost of electricity.

I have tested the following plants in a 10 gallon tank:

Ludwgia Repens X: This plant turns green to red to indicate light intensity. Under a single T8 6500k bulb, the plants' bottom is usually green while top half of the leaves turn bronze to red. Under this LED light, the red turned to green and maintained slow growth. Therefore, I know that this light provides lower "PAR" and spectrum not as ideal as a single T8 bulb.

Amazon Sword: Don't bother under this light. Mine melted.

Java Fern: Stayed the same size with little to no new growth.

Java Moss: Continued to grow. Perfect for the low LED light.

Dwarf Sag: Don't bother.

Hornwort: Floating hornwort melted slowly melted away.

Pennywort: Leaves continued to grow, but looked very soft bright green.

Duckweed: Well, they are duckweed. They grew.

So, there you have it. Should give you a good reason to stay with T8 bulbs or take chances with this LED light. Looks nice to human eyes, but doesn't translate to plant growth.

This has to be one of the best purchases I've made for my poor fish. Despite some of the reviews, this lit up my tank very nicely. I have a 35-gallon hexagonal tank. I was concerned that the light wouldn't fit on such an odd shape. I took a chance on it because the opening is 17" across and the light looked like the bars would pull out to accommodate the size of the edge lip, which was about 22". It did and it fits perfectly. The entire tank is illuminated evenly and much more pleasant than my old fluorescent light. I actually don't have a negative. The opening of my tank is about 1" wider than the light itself, so it doesn't cover the hole entirely, but there is only 1/2" open on the front and back, so the cat still can't get in. As a matter of fact, the cat used to be able to push off the fluorescent light because it was so big. Since this one is flat, sits right on top of the tank and is held on by the extendable bars, the cat can't move it off. Again, one of the best purchases I've ever made for the fish.

I've been keeping fish for over thirty five years and these wonderfully innovative double bright LED lighting systems are some of the best advances I've seen aquarium lighting.I was so impressed with the largest sized units the 48-60 I have them on my 55 gallons all the way up to 125 gallons ( you need to Double uo on the units for larger tanks to avoid shadow and ensure uniform lighting)

This size is perfect for tanks up to 36" across, be it a regular or breeder tank the results are absolutely stunning.Gone is the dull white haze of expensive, energy draining full spectrum tubes. Not to mention those awfully shoddy fixtures that haven't changed at least since I was a kid some 40 years ago.

Having looked into alternative lighting in the past, the setups were either too expensive, ran too hot or were difficult to install. One thing is certain Marineland has a hit on their hands. The unit is simplicity itself. A sleek and smart design it's as functional as it is beautiful. Solid build quality, no need for special wiring and installation is a breeze. Simply place it on to your glass canopy, turn it on and get ready to have your jaw drop.

The light from this unit is nothing short of gorgeous, it pours out crystal, pristine and brilliant. The "shimmering effect" is subtle and really quite remarkable the Lunar mode is almost surreal it's that beautiful.I've read on the forums that some folks are using the lights without a versa top. All it takes is one good splash and you'll short the system out not to mention void your warrantee.

The unit itself is so incredibly thin, you'll have no trouble fitting a canopy on top of your tank. The lights rest about 1/4 inch above the glass tops and you'll of course want to place them in the back. The end brackets are fully adjustable and make for a perfect, snap in fit. However, I suggest when using this size on smaller tanks, say up to a 40 gallon ignore the brackets an position the unit without the brackets extended dead center on your glass versa top.

The reason being you'll go nuts trying to get the system perfectly centered. In addition the look without the brackets extended is sensational, clean and high tech.

There's a lot of bang for your buck here :

* The day light LED lights consume only 35 watts as opposed to 80 for a single fluorescent bulb.

* The Lunar LED lights are spectacular and allow you to watch your fish without disturbing their natural sleep/rest cycle.

* Each LED is covered with a Polycarbonate lens this not only protects the bulb, but helps to create the "shimmer effect" hobbyists are raving about.

* Everything you need is controlled by a single side switch. Daylight, Lunar and on and off.

Nothing I've seen re-creates the look of actual sunlight as perfectly as this it's that spectacular. You get an impressive 17,000 lifetime hours, Daylight mode, Lunar mode, an incredible Shimmer effect that's bound to just knock you out and a whopping 1800 Lumens of clear, clean light. The Marineland Double Bright LED lighting system is exceptional.Once you turn it on you'll know immediately that the system is worth every penny. Just a brilliant product that does more than meet your expectations, it exceeds them.

If you are looking for a light that will make your fish look their bestthis is it. It's not overly bright (slightly brighter than standard aquarium lighting), but it lights my 29 gallon perfectly. All the colors in the tank pop. Multicolored gravel has never looked so good and goldfish have never looked better. The light itself looks sleek and modern. It puts out almost no heat. And I love that I don't have to worry about changing bulbs. I have a few low light plants in this aquarium. I wouldn't try any plants more demanding than low light (java moss, java fern, hornwort) with this set up, though. The moonlight feature is the icing on the cake. If you have any neon decor or glofish, they will glow under the blue night lights.

I have 5 aquariums, and have tried lighting from florescent to T5s to compact florescent: LED is my favorite look. I love the bright white light. Also LEDs have the same shimmer effect as natural sunlight on the water's surface. If you have aquatic plants you may need stronger light, but otherwise you can't beat this for looks. Also this is the best price I've seen for a full LED hood.

Quiet One Lifegard Aquarium Pump, 296-Gallon Per Hour

Quiet One Lifegard Aquarium Pump, 296-Gallon Per HourI have been a manager for a retail petstore for 15 yrs. I have extensive knowledge in aquatic life. Our store has purchased these pumps for commercial use as well as for customer purchase. We will no longer carry lifeguard products due to the lack of quality and lack of customer service. These quiet one pumps are made with plastic shafts instead of stainless steel shafts. When you have a power outage and then the power surge kicks back on the shaft cracks. When you call lifeguard they refuse to correct the problem and tell you to send it back at your own cost. A man named Neil works there and will not even consider any type of compensation for these pumps and also will not hesitate to hang up on you. These pumps will not last you more than a year the shafts will crack.I know because i have many upset customers with these pumps. Be aware that you may give this good ratings when first purchased but you will not be happy in the long run.

Worked great for my reef. It was used as the sump pump for 1 year with no problems. I took it apart a few times to clean it. It kept itself pretty clean and never clogged. It also started right up for a few power failures we had during the year. It was used in a 20g sump/refugium underneath a 29g display, with hang on back overflow. This was perfect for the filtration flow I was looking for in the sump (filter sock, baffles, low flow refugium and roughly 4 feet of head pressure). In the display I still had a little flow from a powerhead and BakPak2 skimmer. I've upgraded (but downsized) to a nanocube. If I ever get a large tank again, I will definitely get another one of these pumps.

I have owned two of these model pumps and both have died for no apparent reason. I use them to pump water during water changes and they are not on consistently, each time they died after about 3 months of intermittent use. When plugged in they make no noises or attempts to turn. Maybe they work well for people who use them in a different way, but for me personally I'm going to steer clear of Quiet Ones in the future.

Either I got a defective unit or the description of it's performance is misleading. I wanted to use it as a replacement pump in a fountain. It's described as 6.1' max head height and 296 gph. My fountain is about 4 feet high and uses 1/2 diameter tubing. No water came out the top. Placed the pump in a pail of water fully submerged and had it set to max flow. It only pumped water to a height of about 6 inches. On the Lifegard website more detailed information is given and it says it pumps a max of 175 gph at a height of 4 feet. So I'm unsure what the issue it is, but it fell woefully short of the performance described by the manufacturer and interpreted by me.

On a datasheet on their website another set of figures is given for the 1200. It must be flow rates with head heights converted from metric because feet are listed with fractions of a ft. In any case it says flow rate of 0 (zero) gph at 6.1 ft. That's a lot different than what's printed on the box! But that I can believe, zero gallons at 6.1 feet.

Action Air® Treasure Chest Live-Action Aerating Aquarium Ornaments

Action Air® Treasure Chest & Diver Live-Action Aerating Aquarium Ornament - Color May VeryThis is really cute and works great but the chest is a lil light you need to make sure the rocks help hold it down!

This little chest works great, however make sure you get or have an air flow valve to cut down the airflow to this. I have a separate bubbler and this chest. The air opening in the chest is large so all of the air comes out of it and keeps the lid open, and no air flowed to my bubbler until I put a small valve to turn the flow down. Now it works like a charm.

I love the idea of the diver going up and down as the treasure chest opens and closes. Unfortunately, the chains attaching the diver to the chest are cheaply made, so the diver came off and I had to sort of rig him so he stays attached to the chest. Due to the rigging, he doesn't go up and down when the chest opens and closes.

I love this fish tank ornament! Great colors and well made. The lid stays open all the time, but it still looks great. The bubbles are a nice feature. Divers hangs perfectly. It's light, so I silicon glued a rock to the bottom of the chest to make sure it stays down. The glue is safe for fish. The rock is covered by gravel, so it's not visible. I bought a second one, since divers should be in pairs. :o)

Aquarius AQ15002 Semi-hexagon 5-Gallon Aquarium with Hood and CFL lighting and Mini Might Internal

Aquarius AQ15002 Semi-hexagon 5-Gallon Aquarium with Hood and CFL lighting and Mini Might Internal FilterThis has only been set up for about a week, but so far I'm pleased. I'm still cycling it so no fish yet, but hopefully it will make a great home for my new betta.

Pros:

For what you get, this is a great value!

Love the hinged lid that allows for easy water changes and other maintenance.

The "feed window" is nice so the whole hood doesn't have to be lifted (see Con#2) to simply feed the fish.

Florescent bulb makes it easier to keep live plants.

Cons:

The tank does seem to be slightly more prone to scratches; more so than the other acrylic tank I have, but nothing horrible yet. Plus I think there are scratch kits I could use if it gets bad.

I love the hinged lid, but it does seem that when I open it to add ammonia for the cycle, water that has condensed on the inside of the lid drips down the back of the tank. Hopefully this will only be an occasional challenge.

Pros:-good acrylic, i have yet to see any scratching

The dimensions are better than other hexagon tanks

-the hinged hood is great, really like the fluorescent light

Cons:-the feeling lid on the hood is kinda small, i have to lift the hood to feed my Halfmoon plakat betta blood worms or any food with a big container

-the filter that came with it sucked for my betta(too much current) no problem, i bought a new one and threw the old one away

Overall you get your bang for your buck, so i'm not gonna give it 1 star just because the feeding lid is small or because I don't like the filter

The first one (AND ITS REPLACEMENT) arrived with scuffs on the inside of the acrylic tank from the box of components moving back and forth on the front (inside) of the tank. The box was inside of a plastic bag but was not immobilized with Styrofoam as it should have been. After the replacement arrived with the same scuffs, I decided not to try a 3rd time. Too bad, it looked like it could have been a nice aquarium. Amazon was excellent at handling the returns as usual.

Tetra Usa STS25907 4-Piece Interlock Stone, Large

Tetra Usa STS25907 4-Piece Interlock Stone, LargePros: good idea, smooth "stone" pieces, lightweight, buildable.

I purchased 2 sets to build a small platform for my 18month old eastern spiny softshell turtle. The "stones' are lightweight and smooth so they won't scratch your animal. The idea is great you can configure the stones for the space and the animal. It is compatible with the reptofilter and the prodcut can be used in wet or dry environments.

Cons: pegs stick out, float. Not enough holes in "stones" limits

configurations, costly to build a large enough structure.

The set comes with 4 "Stones" one large, 2 medium one small and have 1,2, or 3 holes depending on stone size which limits configuration. The pegs stick up above the stones even after snapping off the extra and they float. You have to buy lots of sets in order to get a large enough build to make it useful. It would be nice if the manufacturer offered sets with all one size "stones" i.e. 4 large stones.

User Suggestions: For dry environments manually cut off the pegs a little shorter than the top of the stone so they don't stick up. For wet environments ditch the pegs and use aquarium safe glue for a permanent set up.
