Jardin Fish Tank Aquarium Vividly Float Plants Decor Ornament Orange

Jardin Fish Tank Aquarium Vividly Float Plants Decor Ornament Orangenice for the price but they don't really stand up straight in the tank so if they are bent or folded during shipping or packing that is how they stay

We upgraded our tank from a 39gal to a 100gal one and we needed some bigger/taller decor. These were the tallest i could find so i bought them and they look great! They are very bright and vibrant. They look great behind Spongebob's Pineapple! :)

These are a beautiful combination of orange and yellow. They are tall with several limbs. They tend to lay over, but that gives the appearance of being more realistic.

TetraPond Anti-Algae Blocks for fountains, 6-Block

TetraPond Anti-Algae Blocks for fountains, 6-BlockI have tried several products to take care of algae build-up in our fountain and nothing works as well as these blocks! One block keeps it clean for weeks and by regularly putting them in, the fountain stays algae free for months!! I highly recommend them.

The blocks kept the algae away for about two weeks in a clean fountain, but after than, even though I followed directions, the algae formed. They may have kept it at bay a week or two longer than other products, but in the end, I've found nothing to deal with algae effectively in residential fountains.

Aqueon Full-Spectrum Daylight T8 Fluorescent Lamp

Aqueon 65356 18-Inch Full-Spectrum Daylight T8 Fluorescent Lamp, 15-WattThis Aqueon 8000K bulb is a standard offering in many aquarium kits that include a hood and bulb. They are available in several lengths. I am reviewing the 48" bulb.

We have four very colorful Shubunkin goldfish. When they were small, we had them in a standard 55-gallon aquarium that came equipped with the 8000K Aqueon bulbs. The tank had a dark navy blue background. The Aqueon 8000K bulbs were perfect for the combinations of colors in the fish (orange, brown, blue, silver, and white) as well as the dark solid color background. In fact, the colors of these fish were pleasingly vivid under this light.

After a year, the fish were getting too large for the 55-gallon tank, so we moved to a 120-gallon. I purchased a custom-made hood with a pair of HO T5 bulbs, one at 6500K, the other at 10,000K, because an 8000K bulb was not available in a T5. The T5 bulbs were extremely bright and lit the tank to the point I thought I'd have to buy sunglasses for the fish. Algae growth increased dramatically. The new lights also imparted a greenish cast to the navy blue background. And, the HO ballasts emitted a lot of heat.

I purchased a different hood that held a pair of T8 bulbs, trying several different combinations from ZooMed. It was amasing how slightly different C/T bulbs affected the colors of the fish, gravel, and background. Bulbs at 6500K literally turned the fishes' colors from vivid to very washed-out. I ultimately went back to the Aqueon 8000K bulb for the main light, and used a Zoo Med Coral Sun Actinic 420 Coral Bulb T8 32 Watts, 48-Inch in the second slot. Together, the 8K Aqueon and the Coral Sun Actinic 420 provide a very pleasing level of color and intensity of light to the 120-gallon tank. At night, shutting off the Aqueon and leaving the Coral Sun Actinic on by itself, lends a cool "moonlight glow" to the tank.

From my experience, I've learned that manufacturer's stated color/temperature ratings can vary quite a bit. Finding a bulb (or bulbs) that provide a pleasing level of color and intensity may require some trial and error.

If you have a tank with live plants, the Aqueon 8000K bulb may not provide the correct spectrum or intensity of light. We had a few plants in our tank, but the fish ate them almost as fast as we could replace them, so I can't report on how well the Aqueon bulbs will support a planted tank. YMMV.

Finally, we have been using the Aqueon 8000K bulbs in our tanks for over two years. We've never had a failure or problem with them.

The product is great.... HOWEVER, it does not give off the same light as my other three.

YES, I ordered the right bulb. Exactly the same information.

18inch, Full Spectrum Daylight 15 watt

Well, my advice is when ording, if you have two or more bulbs in you aquarium oe two or more aquariums, ORDER A COMPLETE CHANGE OF ALL THE BULBS or order spares at the same time you order the originals so that you will have a few spares on hand for when they go out.......

Professional Pond-Fish Automatic Feeder With LCD display(Up to 90 Days Promgrammable Feeding Schedu

Professional Pond-Fish Automatic Feeder With LCD display(Up to 90 Days Promgrammable Feeding Schedule)I have had three of these so far and they seem to be good for about six months. I'm about to have to buy my fourth. Hard to learn how to program but after so many times it gets easier. I would buy something else but there does not seem to be anything else for less then a hundred dollars more and they may not last any longer and in my pond I need the capacity of a feeder this size. I keep hoping to find one that lasts.

So when I originally bought this, there weren't any reviews on the listing for it. It was incredibly hard to program. I messed up so many times it was easier to yank the batteries out and reset the thing than try to figure out what I had done wrong. Even at the lowest setting it dispensed way too much food for my starter pond. I put it aside and fed them by hand until they were larger, at which time I pulled the feeder out to take over. It had only been about three months, but the screen was already malfunctioning. Parts of the numbers no longer lit up.

Using a little guess work, I got it set up again. I don't really have any hopes of it lasting very long, since it broke down while sitting in storage. :(

And of course it's way past it's return date now.

**EDIT**

After working about three days, it gave an ERR message on the screen and won't dispense. Tried resetting it and it dispenses food whenever it's first turned on, so it's not jammed or anything. Reset it, reprogrammed it and it worked again for another few days. Then the ERR message came up again. TOTAL PIECE OF GARBAGE!

I like this pump. I've had it for some time now. I seems to be holding up well and it is pretty quiet for output. I have it driving one large 4" air stone at about 20" depth. It puts out a nice wall of bubbles. I like that it is adjustable too. I have used that feature too. Better than other cheap diaphram pumps I've used. Reminds me of the 80s "SUPRA" of old.

This is the quietest little pump I've ever owned. Also one of the cheapest ! I used this in an Aerogarden spacesaver when the original airpump went out. The Elite spacesaver is obsolete, but this was better than a replacement. This is an upgrade! Adjustable airflow is nice for my application too. I have owned many aquariums & I can tell it would also be great for that.

Jardin Muffler Air Stone Connector 2-Piece Brass Underwater Air Stones for Aquarium

Jardin Muffler Air Stone Connector 2-Piece Brass Underwater Air Stones for AquariumI would not use these in a salt water setup as a matter of caution even though the supplier says it's safe for both fresh and salt water tanks. I doubt much copper would be leached, but with $100 or better per fish it would be rolling the dice, and they are pets as well. I use two in my 36 gallon fresh water with no issues and so far no sign of oxides or corrosion.

Aqua-Tech 10-20 Power Filter, Perfect for 10-20 gallon aquariums!

Aqua-Tech 10-20 Power Filter, Perfect for 10-20 gallon aquariums!I've had several of these Aqua Tech filters in different sizes (5-15, 20-40, 30-60). Before I say anything else, FYI this is a Walmart brand filter. That should tell you something about the quality right there. Anyway, these filters all had one thing in common they were all GARBAGE! The filter cartridges are a joke, they do not keep water clear unless changed AT LEAST every 10 days. To make matters worse, each time the cartridge is changed, most of the "good" bacteria (which primarily lives in the filter) is removed from the tank. Within a few days, this makes your tank cloudy from a mini-cycle. It clears up ... just in time to change the cartridge again (talk about annoying). A 3-pack of cartridges on the smaller filters lasted me less than a month, and on the 30-60 filter I went through a 3-pack every 2 weeks or so! The cartridge itself has maybe 50 pieces of carbon in it! Complete garbage, I can not tell you how many fish I lost to these because filtration sucked! I switched to AquaClear 50 Power Filter 110 V, UL Listed (Includes AquaClear 50 Carbon, AquaClear 50 Foam & AquaClear 50 BioMax so much cheaper to maintain (been using it for 3 months and the media will not need replacement any time soon), and it does a FANTASTIC job!!! I have not lost a fish since switching to AquaClear. Do yourself a favor, stay away from Aqua Tech brand, it's overpriced junk.

I have two Aqua-tech filters, one 10-20 model which I have used for around two years and one 20-40 model that I have had in continuous use for over four years. I have been very pleased with their performance. While there are certainly better filters on the market these offer a good low budget option for the beginner aquarist.

There are many things to recommend this filter:

*The filter is very quiet, I have both operating in a bedroom.

*It is also surprisingly well made for the price, my cat loves to stand on the filter and no damage has resulted. Occasionally I have had the one of the filters simply stop working but unplugging the filter and re-seating the impeller always fixes this.

*Maintenance is simple; just change the disposable filter cartridge. To prime it after maintenance just pour some tank water in the top to get it running again. Occasionally it is a good idea to take a toothbrush and clean the intake pipe and impeller of algae buildup. Also remove any hair or fur caught in the impeller with tweezers, especially if you have cats or dogs. These buildups will cause the filter to run less quietly.

*replacement filter cartridges are easily purchased at your local Walmart.

There are two major flaws with this filter as far as I am concerned.

*First, it sometimes starts to make quite a bit of noise. This is generally caused by the intake rattling against the case and is easily solved simply by removing the intake pipe and impeller and re-seating it. Sometimes it takes a few tries to get it to work silently again.

*Second, there is little biological filtration capacity. while it comes with a biological filtration cartridge it is quite small for the filter size. Some people have modified their filters by adding additional biomedia such as filter floss in the empty spaces. However, I have never needed to do this as I make frequent water changes and the tanks both have well colonized substrates.

in short if you are very serious about fish-keeping you will probably want to invest in a higher quality canister filter. However, if your just getting into the hobby and are not sure about your commitment to it yet this is a good low budget filter for your first tank.

Buy Aqua-Tech 10-20 Power Filter, Perfect for 10-20 gallon aquariums! Now

I bought a tank on Craigslist and this filter came along with itlooking at it, I thought it was a piece of crap. But to my amazement when I got home, it was almost totally silent! It was actually quiter than my AquaClear (I think there's something wrong my Aquaclear though.) I can never find cartrideges for oit, so I don't know about them, but I just cram misc. filter media in there and it does just finelots of good bacteria growing and a decent water flow. I use it as an extra filter for my 36 gallon along with the Aquaclear 50, my tank always is really cleanplus having the 2 filters is great for avoiding mini-cycles, I just clean one filter and then a while later clean the other, never a shortage of bacteria! :) The price here on Amazon seems horrendous though, $50 for it? No way! I wouldn't pay that much for this, no matter how quiet!

Exotic Environments Castle Fortress with Gargoyles Aquarium Ornament, 10-Inch by 3-1/2-Inch by 5-1/

Exotic Environments Castle Fortress with Gargoyles Aquarium Ornament, 10-Inch by 3-1/2-Inch by 5-1/2-InchI gave this product 4 out of 5 stars, because it is smaller than it seems and there's a few key aspects not mentioned in the product description, so read on.

The castle measures just over 5.5 inches in height, just under 8.5 inches in length and 3 inches in width (width measured at the bottom).

From the picture you can't tell, but the main two windows only measure 1/2 an inch in width and .75 in height, so only small fish can fit through. Also, the top of the towers have very SMALL openings, about the size of a dime, so again, very small fish might be able to fit through. The openings do not have sharp edges, so no need to sand them.

The overall construction is actually very good, sturdy and nicely painted. If you plan to mod it somehow, you'll need a precise and strong tool, I would guess some kind of Dremel attachment. It's made of some kind of hardened plastic.

I ended up not using this castle in my aquarium, because it looked too small in it. I have a 50 gallon, oval shaped glass aquarium, so it has more height than length. I hope this helps. Good Luck.

After many years of wanting an aquarium, I recently purchased a 20 gallon aquarium. I bought this ornament as my center piece in the tank and I must admit that I love it! My tank is gargoyle themed so it really balances out my tank perfectly! It is not too big or too small.

Buy Exotic Environments Castle Fortress with Gargoyles Aquarium Ornament, 10-Inch by 3-1/2-Inch by 5-1/ Now

this castle is a beautiful piece for stand alone in a small tank or with other pieces in a large tank. the open interior is ideal for live plants to take root or for small fish to find dark shelter. from new this is a nice looking castle and maintains its looks for years to come. injection molded and hand painted to a natural look and feel. we use this castle in a small(10 gal.) tank with live plants and tetras(small generic fish). make sure and always give the water plenty of time to aclimate Ph, temp, O2 and micro-bacteria after all ornamwnts and rock are in for at least two weeks before adding fish and plants to promote health and longevity of life in your tank as some ornaments and/or rock adjust these levels and can stress or harm fish. make sure and physically measure your tank or area before purchasing pieces to avoid crowding.

Acurel LLC Waste and Debris Reducing Media Pad, Aquarium and Pond Filter Accessory, 10-Inch by 18-I

Acurel LLC Waste and Debris Reducing Media Pad, Aquarium and Pond Filter Accessory, 10-Inch by 18-InchI've been using the Accurel media pads in my Marina S20 filter for about a year. When cut to size, it easily slips into the filter's slots. It is stiff, which makes it very easy to slide into place. It also seems to have a tighter weave than other media pads, so it catches even the tiniest specs of debris. My filter also has Purigen, and,in the far section of the filter, I use an Accurel Ammonia Reducing pad, which I also cut to size. Since I use only a piece at a time, the large pad is cost-effective. The water in my 5-1/2 gallon fish tank remains perfectly clear and the fish remain healthy. Because of the stiffness and the density, I much prefer the Accurel white media to the standard blue and white style. Just be sure to rinse it well before placing it into your filter to get out any loose fibers that might be clinging to it.

I bought these because I have a large canister filter that doesn't sell replacements for its own filters. The original filters were getting very soggy, limp, and not filtering as well.

These are thicker and seem to hold their shape better. I traced around the filter pan and cut two new filters out of one piece. I'll use the other one when needed. My aquarium is looking good, so I have no complaints.

Cobalt Aquatics Neo-Therm 75-Watt with Plastic LED

Cobalt Aquatics Neo-Therm 75-Watt with Plastic LEDThis is my second Cobalt Aquatics' heater. I purchased a 50 watt version over the past six months. This one's a

75 watter. I have also noticed that Cobalt has recently expanded this line of heaters to include 150 and 200 watt versions.

Thus far my experiences with the 50 watt version have been

positive. It's in a Mr. Aqua 12 gallon long which is at about the maximum size for this heater. As a result, the heater can be working harder than it should during the winter months.

This is especially true since I like the cooler temperatures during the fall and winter months, and as such, keep my den windows partially open most of the time.

However, even during the coldest months of the year, water always remains above 70 degrees.

The Cobalt is aesthetically pleasing, well constructed, and very easy to use. It's a bit on the expensive side though.

However, the prices have come down about 15% or so since these heaters were first introduced.

If they turn out be durable heaters that stand the test of time, the Cobalt Neo Therm series will be well worth the investment. Especially when one considers how difficult it is to find a company without the quality control issues that most aquarium heater manufacturers experience.

Of all of the equipment one must purchase in this great hobby, heaters are the most problematic. For instance, you can purchase two identical heaters and one may prove to be reliable for years, while the other fails right out of the box.

Thus far, I recommend the Cobalt Neo Therm line. However, try to find them at a discount. Amazon.com usually has them discounted. Although I'm not sure if you can find the Neo Therm 150 and 200 on Amazon yet.

Small enough to put in my sump for my 35 gallon Seahorse tank. Very accurate. I must keep my tank between 72-74 degrees and it is accurate to 2 degrees.

AquaTop Aquarium Heater - 100W

AquaTop Aquarium Heater - 100WLesson learned: You get what you pay for. The Aqueon 06106 Pro Heaters Submersible Aquarium Heater, 100-Watt works better (it was recommended to me) but it's almost twice the price on Amazon and even more at the pet store so I got this. I bought it the last week of June to treat ick in a tank. It was always about 3 degrees off but I dealt with it. I used it occasionally, I'd say I used this heater for a total of 15 days before it malfunctioned. I decided about a week ago to buy some tropical fish and I tried to get this to heat to a constant 77 degrees. Worked fine before bed, but I woke up the next morning to dead fish and a tank temperature of 86 to 88 degrees! It was HOT in there! I call the company and what do I hear?

"Maybe your thermometers are inaccurate." BOTH OF THEM?

"Is it hot outside your house?" Does it matter? The tank is INSIDE my house, and my room temperature is a steady 68 degrees. I live in the Arctic. No, it is not hot outside my house.

I don't know about you, but when I get asked stupid questions like that by people blaming everything but their product for a malfunction, I get kind of annoyed. I was promised a refund by the guy I called for support, then their returns department denied it because I've had the unit for almost 3 months. They said they do not issue refunds after 14 days, and if I want to use the warranty I have to pay to ship the item to them! For a $16 heater, that is not even worth my time or money paying to ship it back, let alone the cost of gas to drive to the post office! What kind of "customer service" is that? I'm sure they bet on people not bothering to pay return shipping for the warranty and instead buy a new one!

This heater was not accurate from the start. If it's going to kill my fish and I have to "re-calibrate it" (their suggestion) over and over again to get it to work temporarily, I am not going to use it and risk a repeat of fish casualties. I unplugged it, pulled it out of the water 10 minutes later and it burnt my hand it was so hot. It smelled strongly of burnt rubber. Unsafe. Do not buy Aquatop!!! Spend a few bucks more on a quality product.

Last time I am buying an Aquatop product of any kind!

I'm enjoying this heater so far.

I have a 20 gallon tall aquarium, it was a kit purchased from Petsmart that included a filter and heater. However, starting with the first day I was having problems with the included heater. No mater how many times I nudged the temperature nob down, it always found its way back to 82 degrees which is 4 degrees warmer than I wanted. Eventually I decided enough was enough and bought this 100W heater as a replacement.

So far everything works perfectly. I left it running for a day and saw that it too had the water at 82 degrees with the nob set at 78. Ugh, not again! However, this heater allows you to 'calibrate' the dial by lifting the red peg on top, and rotating the dial to the temperature your tank is at. I did so, changing it 82, then pushed the red peg back in, and turned the dial down to 78. Day 2 comes around, and all three thermometers agree the tank is now at 78! Perfect =)

Two weeks later, the temperature has been rock solid. It's February so the house is the coldest it will usually be throughout the year and it's performing perfectly, we keep the house at 65 during the night.

This heater is all black in color, and has an orange LED that turns on whenever the heater is on. The top features a dial with actual temperature numbers and not arbitrary numbers (for example 1-10). As mentioned above, if it is keeping a temperature other than what it says, you can adjust the dial and recalibrate it. Chances are you'll never change the dial again, but is useful in any case if you have the misfortune of getting sick fish, for example ich where treatment requires a rise in temperature.

This heater is fully submersible, even though it does have a max water line on it (I think this is for Canada regulations).

I will update this review if I ever have a problem with it, no updates means it is still working perfectly.

I will never again purchase any AquaTop (TruAqua) product.

I purchased the 100w heater with digital display over a year ago. Just past the one year mark, the heater stopped functioning properly. The thermostat got stuck on 90 degrees (normally 74). I sent the heater back to AquaTop with a letter documenting what had happened and requesting a replacement. Surely a company that warranties a product for 12 mos would not want a disatisfied customer with a useless heater that only lasted 14 mos. An email conversation began between Albert in the Returns Dept and myself. He stated he was unable to be of assistance. I responded requesting a new heater or a credit toward a heater purchase. No dice. I requested a supervisor and was refused one. Finally Albert conceeded by offering me half off the same model ($39.99 regular price, $20 for me). I agreed. When the new heater arrived, there was condensation inside the glass tube and the box was marked with a special sticker (possibly a return from another customer or a "refurbished" unit). I tried the heater out anyway. It did not even last a week before the display went to all 8's and the thermostat got stuck on an undesired temperature. I again emailed Albert for resolution. He asked me to send him evidence (photos) of the issues. I complied. He sent me an RMA number and UPS label and I returned the unit. I went online immediately to purchase a new heater. The exact same model on Amazon and on the TruAqua website was $14.99. He gave me a "deal" by charging me $20? Weeks later, after emailing Albert again, I received my $20 back. TruAqua aka AquaTop is difficult to do business with, rude to their customers (and I have been a loyal customer for YEARS), and they intentionally overcharged me for the item. No thank you!

This sucker cracked the first night I tried to use it. Maybe giving it 20 mins submerged in my tank wasn't enough time for the glass to adjust, but I maintain a half dozen tanks with 2 heaters each and this is the 1st time I've ever had one fail like this. It wasn't a spectacular fail that lit up the tank or killed all my fish (thank god) but a cracked glass shell and a failed unit none the less. And no, before you comment or ask if I just chucked it in the tank and fired it off, I didn't. Like I said, it was unplugged and submerged for a full 20 mins before I tried it. Then I plugged it in and approximately 30 to 45 sec later it cracked and I could see a faint trail of "tiny little bubbles" comeing from said crack. Unplugged and pulled the thing out and sure enough "done". I won't slam or badmouth Aquatop over this, I own plenty of their other products and am quite pleased with them(tank heaters included), just had a bad experience with this one.

Jardin 10.4-Inch Long Stainless Steel Scissors for Fish Tank Plant, Silver ToneThis solved a problem I had reaching into models in construction. It even solved the problem of keeping some parts separate while getting glued!

Very flexible, but really strong. I'm satisfied.
