ViaAqua Titanium Aquarium Heater, 300-Watt

this is the best and most reliable heater for the money on the market today . It has a digatal read out along with it being titanium . mine ran out of water by accident and did no damage to the heater. great product i use them in all of my tanks.

Installed this heater in my 55 gallon tank. It brought the temp up quickly and has maintained since. Great product, love the digital feature and outside of tank adjustment. No more dipping my arm in the tank for slight adjustments.

I have been through quite a few heaters in my time, maybe a dozen. I have had expensive and cheap heaters.

I have been using this for a month now and it's great and keeps consistent temps. The digital readout is accurate as compared to my old fashioned in tank glass thermometer.

The thermostat takes a minute or two to learn probably have to use the manual to at least double check if you are using the one button properly like I had to (I hate having to read manuals). So setting it up is a little clunky initially, but overall not too bad.

The heather itself was slim for a 300 watt heater, and aluminum was the only choice for me as I have a 8" Red Severum that could break a glass one. It comes with a suction cup, but my tank has issues with suction cups. I was happy to see that with a little wedging, the heater set nicely on the bottom of the tank where I need it, with no suction cups.

The wiring is a bit clunky as there is one wire for the thermometer and one for the heater. The thermometer probe must be away from the heater for an accurate temp and so the thermostat can adjust properly. It's a necessary evil for these type of heaters with the external thermostat.

These are hard to find for a good price. I was not familiar with this brand, and with little feedback as to quality I was hesitant. This heater is running strong and accurate, all I need is for it to last and I am a happy camper.

4 stars because the wiring and thermostat setup/adjustment could be a bit easier.

Would I buy it again? You bet, but ask me in a year as well.

This brand of heaters cannot be used in a horizontal position. There is no mention of this until you open the box.

I really liked this heater at first. It has worked very well in my 60 gallon tank. Just a couple months ago, the problem is that the built in thermostat is reading my water temperature wrong, I would assume this is wrong rather than my mercury thermometer. I have it turned down to something like 72F and my water is about 78F. This is just my experience with this product. Would I buy it again? I don't know.

found one at the local lfs for 16 bucks from Marina. looks exactley the same. this one does not come with a pump you will find another use for pump if you buy this one though. i did the opposite instead of going with an air pump I rigged a rio 50 pump. this is a great product all together and flows nicely into my 7.5g cube.

using the rio pump to push water into the refugium works great. granted the flow in the tank itself is poor. after many adaptations and trials, I took the air pump and simply added a control valve piece to it and wedged it between the pump and corners of tank. this allows the rio 50 to pick up a little oxygen, if set slightly below or next to it to flow into the refugium. it also causes the surface of the water to break allowing for important oxygen and carbon exchanges as well as keeping the surface clean and preventing buildup on the surface as well. the airstone with pump also causes a slight flow so water circulates is better without buying another pump. Even the smallest circulation pumps in a 7.5g or less causes a massive current. i currently have a lionfish with a few corals in it. he is currently eating the copepods and Amphipods that are in the live rock and coming out of the refugium.

You will need to go to the local lfs or hardware store for an inch long tube to connect the pump to the pipe that runs into the refugium. Also as far as noise and/or water flowing out of the back of the refugium here is a couple suggestions. Take an airline tube and slide it into the pipe just to where it makes its way out of the u bend in the pipe. So about an inch and a half to 2 inches into the pipe. point the tube that is sticking into the refugium down to the bottom. this allows the water NOT to be forced up the sides and out the back. you may also go and just buy the correct tubing to fit over the pipe and point down as well. Also on the gate where the water exits which should come with it. cut out one of the middle bars slide it back in place. I set the gate in so thaat it set where the 2nd bar from the bottom / 3rd bar from top is missing. this will take care of the overflow as well as making sure the feet on refugium are on.

great product and must have. for small tanks.

saves the piping and you can see the refugiums, recomended for a not so heavy bio load though. i keep my extra fish in there and some light coral

Using it as a refugium off my sump. I have one of the outputs of the protein skimmer dump into it.

I also added the Finnex Might Ray LED, and that is plenty bright to light the box.

The airpump set up didn't move much water through it and made alot of noise so I hooked it to a power head. I had to drill some holes to allow a little extra overflow back into the tank. For the money it works great, I have a mangrove plant growing in it.

I purchased this directly from finnex and have it on the back of a 7.5 gallon Mr aqua low iron reef cube. It fits the back of the tank barely. Water volume is around 1 gallon. If you plan on storing any equipment in this small fuge then the top almost has to be removed as their is no cord room. The fuge fills up almost entirely with hardly any room left. A little shake to the tank causes a slight overflow. The fuge is built so that any overflow will occur forward back into the aquarium. This is done by the back being higher then the front by fractions of inches. I scrapped the air pump and use a hydor pico 180 gph pump. It works perfectly and I get a nice little stream through the fuge with the pump toned back all the way. Full out the fuge overflows, but the flow is much better. Definitely recommend the pico pump if you go with this as a fuge; otherwise the noise will make you purchase one anyway.

I first discovered these a few years ago when I got a 19-cent goldfish at the pet store. I was determined to give him/her a long life, but I didn't want to invest in a whole big aquarium layout. I knew that an unfiltered bowl was a recipe for disaster so I tried this.

It's a terrific system. The little filter attaches to an inexpensive pump you buy separately. Suction cups hold the filter in place inside a bowl of your choosing. The filter is pretty small so I wouldn't recommend a tank that's much larger than 2 or 3 gallons. I am also not sure this device would work on a spherical bowl -I THINK you need something with at least one flat side.

The filters are inexpensive and super super easy to swap out after a couple weeks' use.

This little feeder goldfish was one of my favorite pet experiences and I attribute his long life (four years!!!) to his healthy bowl.

I uploaded a video so you can see the size and hear the pump.

When we first won two goldfish for our two boys at a fair, we bought the bowl and rocks, but no filter. A week later, one of the fish died, even though I have been changing the water with filtered water.

Now that we have this filter, the fish have been very healthy and the water much clearer.

I still change the water out each weekend, and wash the rocks and inside of the bowl because it gets pretty slimy. So far the fish seem to be really happy.

The main con is the pump is a little noisy, hence four stars.

When I ordered a Filter replacement, I got the wrong product:

I needed the SWF-1C rectangular cartridge but I ordered from ToysNGames and received the SWF2C cylindrical instead.

I highly recommend this for a small 2 gallon fishbowl to help keep the water clear instead of having your fish swim in stagnant water.

Each time I switch out the water, I have to rinse the filter case as well since there is a layer of slime? The white filter part turned tan after about 3 weeks.

I change the water with carbon filtered water every week and add some water treatment.

So far, my comet goldfish has been pretty happy.

Again, the correct replacement filter needed is the SWF-1C

Handy little filter for my fishbowl. Keeps the bowl real clear even with a live plant inside. I have it clipped onto the top of my bowl with my own clip because it's designed for a flat walled aquarium. Also the pump is a navy blue, not teal as in the picture, which I like better.

Jardin Plastic Aquarium Oval Leaf Plant Decoration, 20-Inch, Green

If you have a 20 gallon or less tank, this plant will have a major impact. It is very full in the tank, and dramatic as the tops will float on top in a standard tank set-up. You can weave stems into the decor, thread through rocks or ornaments, etc. If you're budget minded you could cut the plant down and anchor the tops yourself by tying it to a rock or lead weight. I put it in a tank of platys and they dart in and out of the leaves all day. The only reason I don't give it five stars is that the green is almost a day-glo lime color. In my (natural-looking) set-up it looks pretty unnatural. Still, all in all, it was a really good deal for such a big and versatile plant.

I usually never write reviews but based on how much this impressed me when I first turned it on and the fact that there are almost no reviews for this light anywhere on the net, I decided to write one. I have a 10 gallon reef tank and until now, never had good lighting for it. So, I have been researching a lot the past couple of months on different lighting because I am starting to add more and more corals to my setup. Man is this light bright and very beautiful. The strip of white LEDs with the strip of blue LEDs brings out a lot of color on my fish and corals...especially my star polyps.

I have uploaded some pics that I took with my zoom. I was hesitant at first because the pics just don't do it justice.

Granted I just received this light today, but I would recommend this light to anyone with a small reef tank.

I will add some notes in few weeks to see how my fish and corals react. I am also very interested to see if my green bubble tip anemone will react positively to it too!

Satisfied with the light for the price although a bit more blue than I had expected.

Pros 1.) affordable 2.) LED

Cons 1.) the adjustable "legs" that the light sits on are notably cheap and did not fit my 30 gal. cube aquarium (19" but I had hoped there would be an adequate range of adjustment in the light. 2.) the power cord is SHORT. I can't picture the advantage of such a short cord and it did not really work for my set up.

Overall as long as the two cons don't worry you this would be a good buy for the price.

I've got this for my sump setup because I got a condy anemone. Within a month or two with proper feeding it has regained a nice brownish color from a meek off white... and is very active. At first I wasn't for sure how much it would help but I'm running this with a ecobright 5700k compact flourecent bulb to help the algae grow nicely. People are amazed at how nice my sump looks. I would definately purchase their brand for other tanks when needed.

Very good light for the money. If you have been looking for a LED light that wont break the bank, give this a try. The actinic really makes the colors pop and my Coral Beauty looks awesome in the light. Hopefully this lasts as advertised. I ended up putting this on a 36" wide tank since i have a hood and would not fit with the 36inch size due to the way it mounts. I was able to create a custom hanging mount easily. I got this to put in my 100 gallon pond. I like it because it's large full. However, it arrived with part of the base broken off. It was only 2 little sprigs but it was broken nonetheless. The base is made of some sort of plaster and is more fragile than I prefer but whatever, it serves its purpose.

Great plant with great color. My fish like to swim amongst the soft leaves and pick for food or play around. Looks great under the florescent light. I have a 20 Gallon long tank and since the plant is large the top leaves float on the surface which makes it look like a more natural environment which I noticed has had a good effect on my fish. I also like how the leaves don't begin until an inch or two above the base and allows the fish to float there and have a nice shaded space. Great product which would be way more money at a retail pet shop.

This is one of my favorites silk plants. It is a large size and ok for my 25 gal tank, but it takes a lot of space with its broad leaves, so keep that in mind if you have a smaller tank.. The colors are really prettywarm yellows and auburns which look great with a blue or black background. I like the shapes of the unique leaves; they look real. The colors are vibrant but not so bright as to look fake. I would love to someday have real plants, but until then this is the best choice.

I have a 25 gal freshwater tank which looked boring before I decorated it with 12 silk plantssmall, med and large sizes. I arranged the plants around black lava rocks and added a blue background. The plants fan out from either side of the rocks and sway in the water.

The colors of the plants make the colors of the fish stand out more. Plus the fish seem to feel more secure because they can hide among the plants, like they would in the wild. They search the leaves and under the plants for missed food. There are lots of little areas among the plants for the fish to explore and hide. As a pet owner, I feel like it is my responsibility to provide the most comfortable home I can. My little guys seem relaxed and seem to like having these silk plants in their aquarium.

I am happy with these plants. I like the way they add color and texture to my aquarium and my fish like having a more comfortable home.

I really liked the way this plant looked when I got it, it looks great in the water and moves around like a real plant would. I am disappointed because it has stained a lot. I've tried cleaning it, to no avail. I've read that you shouldn't use bleach to clean anything that will go back in an aquarium so it seems that there aren't too many other options. Nice looking plant if you can figure out a way to clean it.

Total garbage, and I bought 5 of them. They do not stand up, period. Great if you want something to lay on your substrate.

Jardin Aquarium Fish Tank Ornament Water Plant, Hot Pink/Green

This is a rather large ornament in height and width. It is well made and very pretty in color. It is very dense, not like some ornaments that have a few strands of vine. Tried it in my 5 gallon but it overwhelmed it. Even in my 10 gallon, it really overwhelmed. So, I could see it working nicely and looking good in a larger aquarium where it has space to blend in. Although I am not currently using it, I would recommend it for a larger aquarium.

36013 Mini Aqualight T5 Light Fixture

I bought this light because it fit my proflex model 3 sump that I am using as a refugium perfectly. Unfortunately, the first light only lasted about a week. I exchanged it for a second one, which only lasted about 10 days. I would NOT recommend this product. Heed the advice of myself and other reviews. Look for another alternative, or take your chances. That being said, Amazon's WONDERFUL service resulted in a speedy replacement, and ultimately a speedy response and FULL refund on the second return.

This would be a great light, if the bulbs did not keep burning out. I've replaced the same bulb twice in the space of a few months and my tank is now dark because I can't continue to keep buying replacement bulbs for it and will need to look for a different solution. Waste of money.

Looks nice in aquarium. weighted base is heavy enough. They sway nicely in the current and clean up easily. buying more. >>>> UPDATED >>>> After a month or so in the tank the edges of all the plants frayed, the frayed strings came loose and wrapped themselves around the impeller of my penguin filter. All garbage now.

I saw pictures of this eel grass posted by another reviewer and I instantly just fell in love!

I order it in purple and in all green color as well and combined they look phenomenal in my tank hands down almost as though they are real.

The purple is a very nice and exotic violet almost and the green on it is light so it looks as though it is a salt water plant.

I am very pleased with the quality as well although I would have liked to see the base a little heavier so that it can hold it self better under the gravel instead of having to place rocks or a lot of gravel on it so it can stay down.

The different shades also do not limit you to what other plants you can put in the tank because it almost has all the shades in it so blending is a breeze again.

I definitely recommend it and would buy it again.

Gorgeous color and looked great in a 3 gallon tank but it frayed badly within 2 months. I had to throw it out. Disappointing purchase. I would not recommend.

Plant came as promised but did not look like the photo. Very disappointed. This was a total different color and had flowers on it. Would be great for a vase but not for aquarium.

Would not recommend.

These aquarium plant are very life like and an excellent addition to any aquarium in place of real plants. Only down side is they tend to wear out fast over a short period of time and discolor easier than plastic plants.
