My african dwarf frogs love to hide. This stone is the perfect size for them, even my chubby female can fit in. This is a safe place for one or the other to hide when they want to. Not there favorite place and they took awhile to get used to it, but they both hide in here occasionally.

I bought the there pac of the cichlid stones and i will say that i was a little unsure about buying them but i did and my cichlids love them my one pleco lives in the biggest stone and he occasionally shares the stones are well made they are ceramic not plastic and they have a odd look almost like there gray granite and they look amazing if your buying one your buying more! i highly recommend this item I'm currently buying this stone for my guppie tank because they love small niches to breed and this is a big niche and they have privacy

API Stress Coat Water Conditioner, 1-Gallon

This conditoner is the best ever. The aqarium remains clean and the fish thrive. I made the mistake of buying STRESS COAT+. Notice the +, this is because it includes an ammonia remover that through my aquarium off balance. I have mostly freshwater tetras and catfish. I found them gasping for air and soon developed small amounts of red algae. Keep in mind, I have maintained the aqaurium the same way with the same products for years. The ammonia remover must contain a phosphate that also removes the CO2 and oxygen from the water. This causes many fish to die and the red algae growth.

yes, it's an added expense, but stress coat is very nice to have on hand for anytime you have a less than perfect situation in your tank; adding new fish, setting up a new tank, cleaning the old one or maybe the water quality got a tad bit too dirty before you changed it, or maybe your fish got sick/ stress coat just helps to ease the stress on the fish. be nice to your fish, use tress coat.

I've been using this product for both my pond fish and aquarium fish on a regular basis. Doing partial water changes seems to be less stressful for the fish when using this product. But then, of course, I'm not a fish, so I am just guessing.

At least, I've never had a problem with partial or complete water changes or topping off either the aquarium or the pond due to evaporation. It helps with their slime coat and after using it, I do water tests for ammonia, nitrates, nitrites, etc., and the chlorine always shows negative. I buy this stuff by the gallon as it's much cheaper that way.

It's also recommended for use after handling or netting the fish or for any stressful situations. So far, all of our fish are doing great and growing like weeds.

I plan to continue to use it.

I use this stuff constantly managing my plethora of aquariums. This is one of the quickest, easiest, and most cost effective ways to make tap water safe. I also like that I can use it as a balm for any fish that may get injured.

The gravel is OK. If you want gravel that is on the darker side....DO NOT BUY THIS GRAVEL! The gravel I received was crushed and whole shell. There were no natural dark rocks to be found. When you look at the picture there are reds, blacks, grays, browns, and different shades of white shells. My 80 lbs of gravel was all white. I would have returned my purchase....but the postage to return would have been too expensive. Otherwise the gravel hasn't killed anything. All of my fish seem to be happy.

Carib Sea was the early Christmas present for my 55 gal. and 40 gal. African Cichlid Tanks. Glad I bought it through Amazon as the advertised price was 30%+ less than any pet store locally. It adds up when I had to use 7 20 lb. bags total! The vendor that I purchased it through only charged me a FLAT FEE of $5.99 for shipping/handling. That is a steal, considering total shipping weight was 140 lbs!

Now about the product...Excellent choice as it came packaged in a live bacteria solution, making for cycling the tanks much easier and shorter. Hint if you ever have to change out substrate, it would be best to NOT rinse any of your rocks, plants, etc. They have essential live bacteria, which helps re-establish and re-cycle your tank. I was able to put all of my fish back in within a few days after set up, without any Nitrite/Ammonia spikes. I also recommend turning up your heater to 83-84 degrees F, which helps to speed up colonization of essential bacteria. It is actually safer to keep African Cichlids in this temp, as it also helps to prevent diseases. They are a hearty enough fish to adapt.

Not only does the new substrate aid in maintaining higher Ph (contains aragonite), necessary for African Cichlids, but it also looks a lot more natural, too. If I ever have to set up a new tank, or change out substrate, I will definitely repeat through Amazon and hope to get it through the same vendor, too. Big savings, great quality, and easy to use!

Aqueon 34502 ProFlex Sump Model 3, 65-110-Gallon

I ordered this model 3 sump to Handel my new 75 acrylic tank. I was very shocked to see it here the next day. I checked it out and true to one other review I read it had a crack in the top corner on the the tall end. I called PetSolutions and explained that it was damaged. I was told to pack it back up in the original box and leave it out for FedEx to pickup the next day. Shock once again to find a new sump delivered the very next day. I could not of done this any faster if the store was here in my town. The damaged was hidden behind cardboard wrapping and would not of been seen until it was open. Now for looks and functionality it is great and I am very happy with my purchase.

Very silent and very well built. The only reason I did not give it five stars is because it had a little crack in one of the corners.

baby biOrb 4-Gallon Moonlight Aquarium with Light Fixture

I have one of these (the earlier version, no moonlight) in my office on my desk. I love it! I keep one gorgeous male betta in it and he is thriving. The pump is extremely quiet. I don't worry about keeping the pump above the water level and it works just fine. The provided gravel is part of the filtration system; you can cover it with large, shiny rocks but I don't mind how it looks on its own. I really enjoy the decorations you can use in the baby biOrb; I have the small grass ring that goes over the bubble tube in the center and several bright, weighted "plants". Haven't tried the fuzzy ball decorations yet but I will when I get tired of the current set-up. My betta seems very healthy and happy. I keep the water level lower than recommended so he has plenty of surface where he can get air. This has been a very peaceful, pretty addition to my office.

Looks great on a high coffee table and even the anti-fish husband gave it a compliment on how cool the night light looks.

Pretty low maintenance with 25% water changes weekly and fully changes one a month it almost looks after itself its so easy. You can probably reuse the filters if you clean them and add new media.

I added a heater, skipped the biorb stones for petshop cheaper ones, I decided on real plants, a betta, some red cherry shrimp, adding a top to the bubbler and a valve which means my betta has no problems with the current & his long fins (he is a halfmoon and currently flaring right next to the air vent the cheeky minx!).

One note for anyone buying this. Buy a valve for your pump or you may find the water siphons back into it when you switch it off $2.00 well spent!

Both packaging and website description are misleading. The photos don't show the air tubing and power cord which are unsightly and make it very difficult to place in your home. The external tubing and air pump unit are supposed to be placed higher than the water level! Also, the supplied media is unattractive and is the only media (gravel) they recommend using (it's brown). I definitely expected a better product for the money it cost. I sent my baby biOrb back..and really wouldn't recommend this product.

I transferred my betta into this tank after about a year in a much smaller (and cheaper) filtered tank and I am so happy I decided to get it. There isn't much light in my apartment so the moonlight feature stays on all the time, which is fine; but it looks especially beautiful at night. I decided not to buy biorb decorations or rocks just because I already had some and honestly they were a bit pricey for my taste anyways. This tank is also a bit expensive, but it's totally worth it. It not only looks great, but it is very functional. The filter works great and cleaning is easy. I've had the tank for about a month now and I would gladly recommend it to anyone looking to buy. I would definitely buy from Biorb again in the future.

I've been very happy with this tank but the moonlight feature was a waste. Because I keep it pretty far away from windows, the regular daylight wasn't enough to trigger the switch from moonlight to daylight. I had to keep a lamp on to keep the tank light on, which is pretty silly. There is an option for manual on/off but then you give up the moonlight... either both lights are on, or neither. If you get enough light in the room, this could work for you. But the directions caution against keeping it in direct sunlight because the curve of the tank could cause a fire.

Eshopps RS-100 Reef Sump - 75 to 125 gal.

I originally ordered the RS-75 for my 65 gallon reef setup. After calculating the volume in gallons it was around 12.5 and I realized that it is just not enough space for effective filtration and a skimmer. I quickly cancelled the order and placed a new order for the Eshopps RS-100 sump. At 24" x 12" x 16" This has a volume of about 20 gallons... much better for a 65 gallon setup considering it was only $25 more for almost double the filtration space. Even though it is rated for 100-125 gallons I would say this is an overestimate. For these sumps, If you're on the fence about size, go the NEXT SIZE UP. Just make sure it will fit into your stand before you order it. Overall I really like the design. It arrived well packaged and all the seals checked out. It came with a 7" circular filter sock, a sponge to place in between the baffle to eliminate micro bubbles, and a 3ft corrugated hose with PVC attachments on the ends to fit a standard 1" bulkhead. I rinsed every part of it with R/O water before setting it up.

After filling the tank and running the sump with my Eheim Compact 3000 return pump (792 gal/hr @ 0' head height... mine runs @ 5' head height so i figure its around 450-550 gph) I noticed a lot more noise than I was used to. I removed the corrugated hose that it came with and replaced the hose with custom fit PVC sections. Instead of having water pooling in the hose and then releasing in one giant wave of water the overflow compartment on my tank now remains at a constant height. Problem solved?... Almost. The next step to achieving ultimate serenity was as another reviewer mentioned. Use an extra PVC pipe (mine was about a 7" extension) to slide into the bulkhead where the water enters the sump through the filter sock. Now, instead of hearing water splash down into the sump sounding like a torrential downpour it sounds like a small pot of water boiling. Trust me it is much quieter than having water raging in.

I filled my sump with 10-15 lbs live rock and 2 units of chemipure elite. My water parameters have been perfect since setup.

I would recommend this product to anyone looking for better filtration for their saltwater tank. That Fish PlaceThat Pet Place was very quick at providing me with an order cancellation and refund when I initially purchased the wrong size, I would also recommend this seller.

I would recommend this product. It meets my aquarium needs, I just wish it came with a extra micron filter sock.

Worked on our aquarium for about three months then just stopped. Not sure what went wrong. I will contact the seller and see if I can return it but that's probably a long shot. Very frustrating.

Update 9/27/12: Like a fool, I bought another thinking it was a fluke the first time. It happened again after a few months. Do not buy this product. The quality is just horrible. I bought a bulb first, think it was that. What a waste.

Like the previous reviewer, I am disappointed that the fixture didn't last longer. I will look elsewhere for the replacement.

I bought it along with the hydor 4 (stronger motor) and found this one to disperse smaller bubbles like a mist. I am going to replace my external air pumps with internal air pumps. Its actully smallar than external pump and you cant hear it at all. Be prepared for all the bubbles. I placed in 30 galon and its standar bubbles. I have a 10 galon and i think its to much bubbles for it. It has an air valve that can be adjusted but it does not work well. The cables where fine for me as i have black background. Any questions are welcome.

this in-tank aerator puts out a huge amount of tiny bubbles which significantly raises the dissolved oxygen level in the water in my 20-gallon aquarium. airflow can be adjusted with a provided plastic valve. wide tower of bubbles looks so cool. my fish like to play in it. submersible air pump barely shows above gravel. needs to be weighted down. silent running. easy setup.

Hydor H2Show Bubble Maker Internal Venturi Air Pump for Aquariums is sadly under-described. It creates finer bubbles than what you can see in the video demo on YouTube. They circulate through the entire tank very well. It also comes with 3ft of quality soft black airline. The suction cups and clips are soft and I have no trouble removing them. They don't come apart when removed, if they do it is very easy to put the cups back on. The clips hold the airline, power cord and cord for the led lights. Very neat assembly, well thought out. I got plant material clogged into the diffuser and it was easy to completely sweep the channels clear with a bread twist tie. Because it is called a venturi I feared it might produce ozone, but it doesn't and I am happy about that. I wouldn't know how to use ozone in an aquarium. My only con about it would be that even after running it for a week it is loud and makes alot of vibration inside the tank. you don't hear it outside, but if you press your ear to the tank there is high noise and vibration in there. I'm going to try applying Vaseline to the magnet and see if that quiets it down. The diffuser is currently helping me nurse a sick Betta back to health. The meds deplete the O2 a bit, and she was kind of weak to have to come to the surface for a bit of air. She has been able to stay in her cozy places with this diffuser and get some rest. At first she stayed very near the diffuser where the greatest amount of air was flowing through. It looked like it was really helping her respiration and giving her just enough gentle water flow that the bacterial infection wouldn't be able to stick on her and keep spreading. I'm really happy with with this product, I wish I'd had one in this tank sooner. I want to start replacing my other bubblers with these in my other tanks. It's nice to not have to hang a pump on the wall above the waterline and try to stuff it with cotton so it doesn't rattle through the whole house. I just hope I can get it to be more quiet in the tank for the best fish health possible but as far as oxygenating the whole tank, you can see how well it works the minute you put it in and turn it on.

Coralife 54332 Actinic Straight Pin Compact Fluorescent Lamp, 24-Watt

I have an 8 and a 14G Biocube both salt and I love both of them. The lights 10,000k and Actinic 420 actually last awhile I had the same bulbs for a year I got new one's your really supposed to change them about every 6-7 months for proper coral growth. NO BS whithin the first 3 hours everything opened up and has grown tremendously in the past 3 weeks now. You might complain about the price but for what they do and how long they last their 100% worth it.

We have a 14 gallon nano tank and needed replacement lights. The fish stores charge way too much for the same product. Arrived quickly and was well packaged so no breakage. Works great!

Standard Replacement bulb. Put it in to replace a blown bulb, it worked. The last one of these I had from a LFS I paid $25 for and it only lasted 4 months at 12 hours a day on. I dont know if I got a bad bulb or maybe the life span on these is kind of low. either way when I got this one for $15 How can I complain.

Petco Power Filter 5 Replacement Filter Cartridges

These filters are exactly the size I needed for my fish tank. I'm truly puzzled as to why my local Petco doesn't carry these since they sell the fish tank.

These are the standard replacement filters for the Petco 5 gallon hexagon tank. They recommend you replace them every two weeks, but I've found that as long as I do partial replacement of water regularly, I replace the filters once a month when I do the full tank cleaning.

Nature's Ocean Aragonite Sand

Worked well as my base layer for a micro salt water aquarium. Took roughly 2 days to fully settle once poured, but looked great. The tiny creature loved to burrow in it, and it has a wide variety of mini shells, broken bigger ones, and sand. Very natural. Does color over time, and if you don't have little burrowing creatures, a green algae can work its way through all of it.
