The interior edges of the openings are Sharp. To make them safe for my Betta's delicate fins I sanded them down with a hand held rotary tool. (Please do this outside, or wearing a particle filter mask so you don't breath resin!) Looks great in the tank, and my fish loves the roomy interior :)
I was skeptical at first. But it trimmed easily and cut to fit my 50 gallon aquarium. I really like the natural stone look and feel. Great product.

It's okay. I have red and black gravel and thought that the color would add to the scheme of the tank. But it really doesn't. It's not a bad item, but it really looks fake and I hide it among other decorations to improve its appearance. It may come out if I see that it detracts from the overall look of the tank. Nice quite motor and design keeps it quiet and prevents everything else from vibrating and making noise too. This is far better design than any of the other air pumps that I have used in the past.

its not "hardwood," which is a little disappointing, it is made of that compressed fiber board with a laminent coating to look like hardwood, but it still looks very good (I only complain because for the price, I would expect hardwood).
I didn't realize they made vacuums this small, and it works. It doesn't siphon too quickly, so you can swish the gravel around to suck up the stuff settled at the bottom.

If you follow the instructions, this thing will work very quickly. I remember wrangling with gravel vacs as a kid, but this starts fairly easily every time. Got this for a small tank (1.5 gallons). It worked very well and helped get the junk out of the gravel. It was easy to get the water flowing, just follow the directions.
Upon receipt of the package, I was surprised when there was no overpackaging, just the manufacturers box, but I guess a 60lb box is too heavy for the package smashers to throw, and there was no damage to the stand.

The stand makes the whole set-up complete. I have a very heavy Exo-terra sitting on it, so I know its sturdy enough. I didn't like the directions, basically a few pictures of rectangles. I won't be moving this around very much because I have a feeling its better left undisturbed.
I ordered this item along a similar product, Exotic Environments Stick Up Aquarium Ornament with suction cup back "Red Sea Reef with Brain Corals". Please note that the product featured on this page has a flat side that is intended to snug up against a wall or flat surface. Nice color and the suction cups seems to be pretty strong...it stuck on the wall of my tank without slipping even before the water was added. Keep in mind that these pieces are kind of chunky...almost as thick as they are wide. Wish they were a little larger and maybe flatter to cover more of the surface of my overflow box without sticking so far into the tank. Even so, they are a neat accent piece and I will probably be looking for a few more like it to decorate the back wall of my tank.
This aquarium is beautiful, but it's overpriced. It's only 8 gallons and it comes with a filter and substrate. You have to purchase decor and heater. The opening at the top is small making it difficult to retrieve things/clean.
I received the unit and plugged everything in and it worked well! For about a month. Then one light appeared to only turn on 1/2 way, then both lights a week or so later. A couple days after that, the light would no longer turn on. When power was cycled, it started to turn on, then went off. I assume that the ballast blew out.

very good product, installation was very easy, I have been using for about a year I have had zero zero problems good products i recommend this seller and productI purchased this about a year ago to make a home made aquarium light for my 75 gallon planted tank. The first unit I received emitted a loud 60 Hz buzzing noise from day one but did light up the lamp. I contacted Hagen who assured me that was not normal, and so I had the item replaced via Amazon as a defective unit. The replacement process was painless and the second unit did not share the same issue. The unit is quiet and doesn't produce a ton of heat. I eventually wanted to route my cords off one end of my aquarium rather than both and so I cut and extended two of the leads. I don't advise trying this if you are not comfortable doing so, or have to ask how but it worked for me. While I don't have a PAR meter it didn't cause any perceivable loss in light, nor did it result in any flickering or noise. The power button requires some effort to flip as it is under a plastic bulb, but as I use a light timer this isn't really an issue for me. Here is a video of the planted tank these lights power: Can't rate item, it is not the correct item for the Lite I have. The Ballast is to large to fit in my lite even though the manufacturer/company shows this product as the product that fit my Light ficture. It was returned.
This bulb is so short lived that you might as well buy a whole new lamp. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

I was so happy to find this filter for my Red Claw Crabs. When I read about the biological and chemical filtration plus the oxygen solubility in aquarium, it was just what I need for the small tank they are kept in. They are in a five gallon glass tank, volcanic rocks, Mopani Driftwood and the Como Filter. They are happy and I am happy with this filter for them.

Hooked this up to the Danner 04520 1700CUIN AP-20 Pond Air Pump in place of the diffuser that came with it, and am very pleased with it. It's so easy to place in a deep pond with the net filled with gravel, and it generates tons of bubbles. My pond is crystal clear and fish appear happy and healthy.
My pond goldfish like it. Small pellets for smaller fish. My fish are about 4-5 inches, and they can eat 2 at a time.
Since I purchased these sponge filters for my tanks, my aquatic pets are much healthier. the tanks stay cleaner and they are so easy to clean plus very economical to use. I keep all kinds of tropical fish, axolotyls and crabs. I have tried other companies sponge filters and they do not compare in keeping the tank clean and healthy. They are also much quieter than the other brands even though they put out large bubbles; the current is not bothersome to my creatures that do not like rapid moving water. The Como Biochemical Sponge Filter for Aquarium Fish Tank are the only sponge filters I will buy.
After coming home from college, I realized that I was allergic to our cats. Not wanting to keep them outside all the time, I found these wipes claiming to get rid of the dander that causes allergies. I combed them for a while first (these cats apparently don't enjoy cleaning themselves and so are very dirty) and afterwards wiped them down with these wipes. My cat is very clean but for some reason she recently acquired a pretty strong unpleasant pet smell. Not wanting to go through the pain of bathing a cat, I purchased these. This product is so helpful, it's ingenious. A simple vacuum/pump arrangement lets you suck water out of the aquarium and pump it back in without effort. I have a 29 gallon tank and only a 2 gallon bucket. Water changes used to take 30-40 minutes. The hose and syphon end is very good and durable. I have owned 4 of these since they came out. All of them broke at the faucet end, Drain/Fill part...ended up replacing them with waterbed fill kits, and those break too. (BTW) exactly the same thing! The other issue is there in-line shut off valves are junk as well. Lost $400 of Orange Mellow Angels because I had the hose in the tank with the valve shut off....got a phone call and came back 40mins later to continue my water changes to find a broken heater and dead fish with 1/4" of water in the tank. Valve was definitely shut off! I did a test with it on another tank and witnessed it drain a 30 gal tank in 40 minutes, with valve shut off, they leak around seal....needless to say, it got pitched and I got to flush cash down the drain (dead fish). I still use them however, I hook it up directly to faucet to fill tank and use a clamp to hold hose to utility sink to drain with it. Trick is to start filling tank with it on faucet then turn water off, unscrew it and it will start the syphon for you. Hope this helps.
I had my boyfriend put the cleaner together because I don't have the strength to put it together. Works well and easy to put it away. I have three turtles and a 55 gallon tank so cleaning was hard to do. The pump has made it a lot easier.
