Aqua Ultraviolet AAV50073 Ultima II 1000 Filter for Aquarium

Aqua Ultraviolet AAV50073 Ultima II 1000 Filter for AquariumI use this filter for my 240 gallon aquarium tank and it's great.

I use 1/15hp pump 3000gph since this pump require 1000gph at 10feet head.

A little extra flow actually not an issue. I have it for a week, my water is crystal clear

and clean. Backwash is absolutely easy. Backwash, drain water, fill back water only take me

5 min to do instead of traditional drain water using tubing and fill water back, clean

canister filter etc took me at least one hour to complete.

Aquarium Divider System in Black

Lee's AQ2 Aquarium Divider System for 29/55-Gallon TanksI purchased two of these. I have one 55 gallon aquarium, where two 'Jack Dempsey' cichlids decided to spawn. This device keeps the rest of the fish safe when the JDs are trying to chase them out of the tank. Peace is restored there.

I also have a 29 gallon Eclipse tank where I 'try' to raise any fry/feeders. I had a lot of 'Convict cichlid' young ones there and needed to make some safe space for the little J Dempseys. This worked well.

These things seem a bit flimsy, once you have them installed they hold their place well. If you want to use the metal clips, be advised that your normal top fixtures will not fit well over the clips

This is not an 'invisible' divider, I will try to post some pictures at my web site and provide a link here. My choice was, let fish kill each other, or have some peace (with a little ugliness). I chose peace.

Enjoy

I bought some adorable puffer fish for my aquarium, but the little devils enjoy attacking other fish, so I had to either isolate them, or find them a new home. I saw this item and figured I'd give it a try. Easy to assemble and set up, but absolutely ugly in the aquarium. The side guards are an ugly black and really take away from the natural look of the aquarium. A solid piece of plexiglass with holes would have been preferable, but as a cheap quick fix, this works all right. Now the gourami and pleco can sleep soundly at night knowing their butts aren't being chewed on.

I wanted to set this up in a 55 gallon planted tank to keep two strains of guppies apart. After 30 minutes of messing around with this, I decided to just let them mix.

Where to begin? There are a series of annoying things about this divider. It reminds me of the book reviewer who wrote "this is not a book to be taken lightly. It should be thrown with great force." That's how I feel about this divider.

Let's start with how the perforated barrier sheet slides into the plastic edges that touch the walls of the tank. The barrier sheet slides in like a report cover (and bends like one, too), and the plastic edges are so much like the report cover binding clips that I wonder if they aren't actually report cover binding clips.

The problem is that with even a little tug, the barrier slides out of the clip. I got this divider ALMOST set up three times and then moved the plastic edges just a bit so they were flush with the side of the tank walls (this takes forever... why can't the connection points be suction?) only to barely touch the barrier with one finger, and it slid out of the plastic clips. And then you can not get the barrier back in the clip you have to take all three parts out of the tank, slide each side of the barrier into the clips, and start again. If this product is ever remade, the barrier should STAY in the clips once you slide it in.

The other major issue with this is the clips that attach to the top of the tank. Getting them to stay put is hard, but doable, but getting them to stay put AND positioning the plastic edges that are supposed to be flush against the tank walls is nearly impossible. And if you move anything even a little bit too far, you've just slid the barrier out of the side clips, and you get to start all over.

I am going to try gluing (with silicon) the barrier into the side wall clips. If that could stay put, maybe I could use this divider.

i just recieved this product today, i set it up (simple) and it doesn't seem to bother my fish(large oscar, and algea eater) i have a 55 gallon tank and it fits good did not have to move any of my lids or lights or filter so for the money i would say this is a great product. but i did put pebbles on the bottom of it to make the bottom sturdy.

I bought this product to seporate my 2 male betta fish in a 10g aquarium. This product assembled in under 1 minute. My and my friends have bought just about every divider for our aquariums. This one is by far the very best one. Unlike the petsmart one where the pieces are not the right sizes, this ones pieces you can clearly tell are ment for it. I would highly recomend this product. I think that you should have 1 on hand at all times. You never know when you might need it.

The picture is not what the product looks like. I think that they just used the wrong pic for it. Defenitly worth the $.

Tetra Usa ATS25994 Bio Foam Grid Replacement Kit with Whisper 30/40/60 Power Filter

Tetra Usa ATS25994 Bio Foam Grid Replacement Kit with Whisper 30/40/60 Power FilterAfter reading this as a kit one would assume there to be 2 of each (grid & foam) as seen in the photo. All that was sent is one of the item. Since the filter 30/40/60 requires 2 of them it would only make sense. So if you are looking to buy these you better buy two.

The filter is Original Tetra and operates just fine.

I lost my bio filters some time ago and was amazed that I could replace them without ordering the entire pump. As I have come to expect, my order arrived in 2days and it is exactly what I ordered.

Hagen Marina Betta Submersible Heater for Aquarium

Hagen Marina Betta Submersible Heater for AquariumI would have rated this heater 5 stars had the company not put so much thought into a deliberately deceptive, albeit technically accurate description.

First, and most important to realize, is that this is an always on heater. It has no thermostat, it simply warms up and stays warm all the time. So the statement that it "reaches a preset temperature" is extremely misleading since most will interpret that to mean the water temperature, when in fact it's the HEATER temperature that remains constant. Whether or not it keeps a bowl/tank at a desired temperature depends on the tank size/water volume, temperature of the room, amount of water circulation/movement, other heat sources such as a light being on or off, lid or no lid, acrylic or glass container, heater placement, and so on. All small "Betta" or "bowl" heaters work this way.

This is an 8 watt heater. These heaters usually run between 7.5 to 15 watts. If you have need of the higher wattage, it's much better to use two 7.5 than one 15 watt. That way just one can be unplugged if the water temp is too high, giving you a bit more flexibility. They can be safely buried in the substrate, a nice option in some set-ups.

This particular heater has a small red LED, which the description states is lit "when the heater is working" a technically accurate but also deceptive statement. It should more truthfully state that the light is lit whenever the heater is plugged in, rather than give the impression the light, and therefore the heater, will cycle on and off. Rest assured, it won't. No matter the temperature of the water, the heater will emit 8 watts worth of heat anytime it is plugged in.

Using this type of heater requires careful and ongoing monitoring. An accurate thermometer is a must. You cannot rely on charts/claims as to how many degrees a specific size heater will raise the temperature in a specific size tank, there are far too many variables. Still, these little units can be quite effective, and I do like this one quite a bit. The LED light, though possibly intended as more a marketing ploy than anything else, is actually a nice feature since there may be times you will unplug the heater and it's easy to forget to reconnect ones with no such indicator. The weight is nice, it tends to stay where it's put, thinner/lighter models are easily displaced. On identical tanks they seem to be very consistent.

It is entirely possible to seriously overheat a bowl or small tank using this type of heater. That is not a malfunction, it is simply an inherent risk with any always on heater. If the room gets warmer, the water will as well. These heaters do not adjust for any variable, they simply continue to emit the same amount of heat no matter what. That is what most people having problems with them don't realize, and what the cleverly worded descriptions fail to make clear. When the room temperature changes, so does the tank temperature. These heaters merely keep a small volume of water a few degrees warmer than it would be without it. They do not and cannot maintain any tank at a specific temperature, ignore claims of "maintains ideal temperature" as they are patently false. The aquarist has to be the thermostat by matching tank size to heater size (wattage) and continually monitoring fluctuations due to changing room temperature and other variables. These heaters are not for overly sensitive species, but it is probably far better for a Betta to be in water that fluctuates between 75° and 85° than in unheated water fluctuating between 65° and 75°. Bettas are heat loving fish and quite tolerant of even very high temps, which makes using this type of heater less risky but still not foolproof.

For around $20 or more, a heater controller can be attached. I have a rack of 9 identical small tanks w/9 of these heaters connected to one power strip that is plugged into a single controller set at 82°. The probe for the controller is in one of the 9 tanks, and this works fine, keeping all of them a steady 82°.

As I stated at the start, the actual heater is nice quality and has proved quite consistent from one unit to another. It performs exactly as it should, and the limitations are not flaws, just inherent with what it is. I'm not certain why the description only rates this 8 watt heater for up to 1.5 gallon tanks, but it's relatively meaningless in any case. Some of the 7.5 watt models are recommended for tanks "up to 5 gallons" which is no more validit depends entirely on the sum of all the variables in each individual situation.

My only real problem is with what I consider deliberate marketing tactics meant to mislead a purchaser into believing the product is, or can perform, as something it isn't. A clear explanation of just how the unit really works is needed, especially if the company wants to be held blameless for problems caused by misuse.

Great product, would buy from again. Better than advertised as it is weighted and sinks to the bottom of the water.

My poor little Betta was freezing in his 1/2 gallon glass bowl. I upgraded to a 1 Gal square tank and added this heater. His water is now just a little cooler than luke warm. He is happy, spunky, and even made his bubble nest the day after I placed him in his new and warmer enviornment. It only took about 4 hours to get his water to a consistant temp and it has remained that way.

UPDATE: 01/28/13

Well, this heater keeps the water at a nice temp for ME but not my Betta. I only have a 1.5 gal environment for my fish so this heater began to make my fish sick and he almost died. I read on a site that a heater should not be used unless my fish is in a 5 gal or larger tank...oops!

I took the heater out just in time to save my beautiful fish. I'm keeping the heater because I will eventually get a larger tank for him.

This product did do its job, so it's nice.

We ordered our first one of these heaters for the betta tank in our kitchen since it seemed to get pretty cold during the winter. It kept the water at a nice high-70 degrees in a 1.5 gallon tank. The betta went from brooding at the bottom to swooshing around the tank, chasing after us as we walked by. He was obviously much happier, so we bought a second heater for the betta in our son's room. Now 'Decepticon' is also much more active as well. We feel bad that the cool water was obviously having a bad effect on the fishes' metabolism, but now that they are warm they will have longer, happier lives.

Majesty Rectangular Aquarium Canopy in Oak

Pine Majesty Aquarium Canopy, Oak 48' x 18'Described and pictured on the detail page as pine with oak stain. What I received (see photos) matches the summary thumbnail, which is veneered particle board that is sort-of honey colored.

In addition to being the wrong material, it is poorly stapled together, and poorly packed, so that it arrived badly dented, with the front right corner fully separated, held together only by the top rail.

Got this canopy for my old 55 gallon aquarium, it fits great. Hides all the messes that accumulate on the glass. Easy access to light, for feeding, etc. The back is open to easily accomodate heaters, pump tubes, etc. Very happy, and my wife loves the look. She did not like the clutter on top of the aquarium. Now, the clutter is covered and it looks great. Turned my aquarium into a nice looking piece of furniture.

The tweezers are excellent quality and very easy to clean. I do wish I could find a slightly longer version though.

These U.P. Aqua long tweezers are very useful to keep aquarium plants as well as for other aquarium chores.

Now, some aquarium brands sell tweezers at ridiculous (or outrageous) prices. But, guess where they are from? For example, ADA tweezers are from Pakistan (no offense to Pakistan people, though). And the price is well over $40 or $50. I don't believe the labor costs for Pakistani workers are so high that those tweezers have to be over $40 or %50 dollars per set.

This U.P. Aqua pinsettes show a very good quality. The tips are well matched and accurate. I can work on tiny coral mosses with them.

Some might consider a smaller tweezers. I have a smaller one, but I use this long one so much more frequently although my tanks are lesser than 12 inch deep. I believe if you want only one tweezers, this size would be better.

TOM Aquarium Mini Internal Filter 45gph adjustable flow

TOM Aquarium Mini Internal Filter 45gph adjustable flowThis filter is great.

Plastic is sturdy construction.

It is dead quiet. The first few days there was a slight rattle with the impeller but that went away and never came back. It is in my bedroom and it is so quiet that I can barely hear the minutest of hums in the dead quiet of the night. Like I have to concentrate to hear it. During the day I literally have to put my ear a few inches from the glass to hear it ticking over.

Adjustment of the water flow is easy and doesn't cause the unit to make more noise like the Hydor Ekip did. The flow control however is also not continuous, but rather in a 3 discrete levels.

I like the fact that it comes with 3 output attachments; Spray bar, top v-spout, and standard center pipe.

I will say that the cleaning of the filter requires a bit of delicate handy-work as the flow control tab (hard to explain but you will understand when you buy it) is delicately wrapped around the sponge. As long as you are careful you won't break anything.

The electrical cord is about 1.6 meters long.

The spraybar dampens the current nicely in a small tank. I have a 5.5g nano and it keeps the water moving but does not 'blow stuff around'. With the spraybar attached the unit is 6 3/4 inches wide and 6 1/4 inches tall.

The suction cups are very strong, in fact, maybe too strong, as I have to really pull them off hard to get them to cooperate.

It has a good quality sponge whose grain is not too fine or too thick. It takes a good couple weeks before I start to notice dirt in the sponge (which you can see because the filter case is clear), and my water stays very clear. When I squeeze out the sponge carefully (in water from the tank so as not to kill the bacteria) I can get it looking brand new again easily. Also, the current around the sponge intake is not too strong, I think baby shrimps would have no trouble steering clear of the being sucked up into the intake. Besides, the sponge grain is too fine to allow them in.

The carbon section of the filter is ridiculously small, maybe 7 cubic centimeters. Instead of bothering with carbon I just leave the original carbon in there as an extra biological filter medium.

This is a great mini filter. I would highly recommend it.t

Hands down this is the best filter for a small tank thus far. It comes with a foam and carbon cartridge which you can replace separately or all at the same time. I really like that you have the option of using the directional flow diffuser or the spray bar. On top of that, you can adjust the flow of the water on the cartridge. For those with a betta, I highly recommend using the spray bar with the flow turned all the way down. I was at first hesitant that the current would be too much but with this set up my betta swims happily and freely.

Additional Info:

I initially had a Tetra Whisper In-tank Filter 3i for my 2.5 gallon tank and it did absolutely nothing. It barely cleaned the tank and the bottom of the filter always had to be at least an inch away from the rocks. This got annoying every time I moved the plants around or when the rocks moved during water changes. Since I've added the TOM Aquarium Mini Internal Filter, I've kept the Tetra Whisper since it holds some of the good bacteria. I plan to retire the Tetra once the TOM has gathered enough good bacteria.

My girlfriend and I picked up a betta around Christmas time which we promptly named Frank. Frank was a dull fish, he did not move around very much in his 3 x 3 cube. He kind of just floated in the same spot, occasionally attacking a passerby's finger. It was a mere few days before we became severely depressed by Frank and decided that he needed a life intervention to spruce up his funky mood. We traveled many moons through mist covered forests to the mystical shop of Walmart where we purchased a 1.5gal tank with a heating lamp. After the brutally quick transition from cup of water to gallon + paradise Frank was alive! He was happily swimming throughout his new home and flashing his brilliant colors for all to see!. The only problem? his water would become cloudy in two days...and I am not exaggerating. Whoever suggested that bettas do not need a large environment, heated water and a good filtration systems should be forced to live in a 4 ft x 4 ft unlit closet with no bathroom in a house in Alaska with no heat. seriously, you may be able to survive in this tiny filthy closet but would you ever be remotely happy? No, I think not, and neither was Frank in his tiny little cup of water.

So began the quest for a good filtration system. This led to many dead ends, and returned purchases. It turns out that Frank does not like moving water...at all. This little guy will literally attack moving water. The Walmart filters that said they would be good for "small tanks" blew him around like a fart caught in the wind. He would get so troubled by this that he began attacking the nozzle head. I was stuck without an idea left, I was sure Frank was doomed to a life of swimming in his own fecal matter and algae overgrowth. Until one day when the clouds parted and a ray of sunshine kissed my troubled mind.

The TOM Aquarium Mini Internal Filter popped up in my amazon search results. After a few days of waiting (filter arrived ahead of schedule, go amazon!) the filter was installed and churning out a gentle stream of water. Frank loves this filter. The sprayer bar is the best invention of the 21st century. The water it it cranks out it gentle enough that Frank swims by it regularly, I am actually beginning to think that he like the sensation. The filter is absolutely dead silent. I kid you not, no noise what so ever. We have had it on for about 1.5 weeks and the water is crystal clear. Just like other reviews have stated the suction cups are like a jacked up octopus tentacle, good luck trying to get these suckers off lol. The one trick is to slide the filter up and out of the tank...voila...easy removal. I would 100% buy this filter again, you should buy it too. It will totally work for you tiny tank. Our little Frank is happy and clean, which is really all that matters!

Stay classy amazon.

I've had this in a 2.5 gallon betta tank for about a month and it's been great so far.

I encountered the same problem with the suction cups being too strong and solved it by taking off the two cups on the bottom of the media cartridge. Now the cartridge pops right out of the impeller assembly with no fuss.

The little cartridge of carbon can be pried open and new carbon put in but as the other reviewer said there's so little space it's not really worth it.

I also want to note that the amazon description states it's good for up to 10 gallons but the packaging and instruction manual say 5 gallons

I just got it tonight so this is just off the last hour or so but I'm not to impressed right now. I am using this for a 1 gallon Betta tank and once again it seems just a little to strong a current even on the lowest setting. I had been going off other reviews that said it worked great for exactly such conditions. I will have to see though if things even out with time. I have another tank that I need to figure something out for still.

Update:

Ok I've now had this filter for a couple of weeks now and I do like it a lot actually I tried the other attachment head for it and that made a lot of difference in how strong of a current it puts out. I even bought a second one for my other Betta tank. Now just to figure out the replacement filter part. They do have them on amazon but not with prime shipping and the shipping costs more then the replacement. I'm thinking I may try and just replace the carbon and the sponge.

One of the prettiest artificial plants I have ever bought. It has a graceful bend in the water, very similar to the photo. Very full and lushious looking. The base is tan and heavy so holds this large plant in place. At a generous 24 in tall, it looks great in my 75gal tank. The leaf color is light green which look really nice against a blue or black backdrop.

I have found that i like plastic better than silk while silk plants look nice to start with, they start to get discolored and start to fray after about 5 mths. Living plants are more work and take time to get this big. So I'm sticking with easy inexpensive artificial plants.

very happy with this, going to buy more!

Marineland 31010 Silicone Caulker, 10.3 oz, (304)ml

Marineland 31010 Silicone Caulker, 10.3 oz,mlI bought a used 125 gal. , it leaked. I cut out the old silicon and reglued it. It holds water now.

I used this to Reseal a 55 Gallon long tank. I know that buying from the pet store will not

allow me to reseal it completely due to the amount of silicone most commercial pet stores offer. Buying this is the same price,if not cheaper, of the overprice smaller tubes pet stores offer. Even after completely sealing my 55 gallon long tank, I still have about only less than 1/4 left. Plus it is easier with a caulking gun as you will need to work fast before it starts curing.

This stuff is very clear after curing like brand new silicone from today's fish tanks. But differs due to how well you prep your tanks.

Bought this to reseal an old 30 gallon tank. it wasn't leaking but turtles I had started to rip up the original seal. I washed tank out, ripped out as much of the old seal as possible, and after a good drying, resealed with this sealant.

It's been more than a month and so far so good. Now with the left over of the sealant I plan on adding some mods like internal overflow box to one of my other tanks. I've got some acrylic glass pieces lying around so figure why not now that I have the sealant. Just a note you probably want to use this somewhere well ventilated since it gives off a strong vinegar like smell as part of the curing / drying process.

Como Artificial Green Red Arch Style Plants Ornament for Fish Tank

Como Artificial Green Red Arch Style Plants Ornament for Fish TankI put this in my newly set-up tank for a couple months without fish (while I was cycling it). The plant archway is really nice looking. It is also quite inexpensive for a piece of aquarium decor/plant. As the other reviewer mentioned, I believe it has a wire inside to shape it. It seems well made, and has not affected water chemistry (as far as I can tell). Plus its not a plant/decor piece that you can easily find in stores locally.

I got some corydoras catfish a few weeks ago and they spend most of their time underneath this plant. They really love it! I also have a couple of nerite snails that crawl onto/into it occasionally as well. And as I said before, it is a nice looking plant. Probably my favorite plant/decor piece I have in my tank. I'm actually considering purchasing another one since the fish seem to love it so much.

^^Original review above.^^

-Update-

December, 2012

I recently took the plant arch out to clean it some. And once I did, I found something bad on the underside of it. On the underside of the ceramic base where the plant attaches to the ceramic part, I saw rust. Yes there was rust. There is a metal wire inside the plant, and clearly the decor piece was not sealed properly. Needless to say that it did not go back into my aquarium. How my fishies miss it! But for their health, they do not get it back.

Very nice plant. It has a wire inside so you can actually adjust it the way you like it and it is very realistic looking.

So, you might want to give it a try, because it really works...we've been doing this for 16 years:)

Using in my cat litter box. Works great. Just open the package and sprinkle into the litter. It does a good job

I used this in my son's diaper trash can. I would just sprinkle a little in when it got stinky and the next time I went to his room there would be NO smell at all.

Fish Canister External 3 Stage Filter Pump for Aquarium Pond Pump Fish Tank New

Fish Canister External 3 Stage Filter Pump for Aquarium Pond Pump Fish Tank NewSo I read the reviews for this item, and thats the only reason I trusted this purchase because for the price of this filter and it stating how much GPH it can produce? It seemed too good to be true.

But when I received the item, the first thing I noticed is that the media baskets were a lot larger than I thought they were going to be, and all the parts were there. The only thing I had a problem with about the item was that the intake and out take plastic pieces were a green color, which really stood out against the black background of my tank so i painted them black before putting them in lol. This isn't something to take a star off for, just a personal preference. But just to note for the maker if you're reading this, maybe making the parts black would be a better neutral color vs. a green one, just for feedback.

Anyway, you cant go wrong with this purchase if you're looking for a good, cheap cost, working canister filter! You won't regret it. Mine's been up and running for almost a month now, no problems.

Summery: Pretty good and cheap canister. it is 4 stage meaning it has a Foam layer, a Charcoal Layer, a Ceramic beads layer, and a layer for either small ceramic beads or Ammonia Chips (serves nearly the same purpose). It comes with everything you need to get this thing going right out of the box. I have been using it for about a month now with not a single issue, though getting it all together and cleaning is clunky and messy; though I'm a canister NOOB so maybe the mess part is all my fault.

Pros: Cheap, highly effective 4 stage mechanical and biological filter, I would recommend this to anybody needing a better system then a hang-on biowheel style or undergravel filters. This is a must have upgrade. All levels in the filter can be removed easily and purchased at any pet store, such as ceramics, charcoal, foam etc. no need for "special" proprietary filter cartridges or any of that mess.

Cons: CHEAP, I mean, it just feels like the plastic pieces could go at any moment. Keep an eye on it. Rubber hoses had terrible kinks in them requiring a little heat from a hot air gun to straighten them out so I was getting full water movement. My ceramic pieces where crushed to powder during shipment, make sure to spend 3 bucks and get some more just in case and some ammo chips while you are at it.

Overall, I would recommend this. It is excellent value for money.

Zoo Med Betta House 2 Gallon Rectanular Black

Zoo Med Betta House 2 Gallon Rectanular BlackI just want to start off by saying I am not a fish expert. I had received a female Betta fish as a gift, in a small bowl, but after reading online about them needing more space,I decided to get something bigger, but I also wanted it to also look clean and sharp. This tank did the trick. It hold much more water but also looks great. The only down side is that it does not have a lid and the hole on top is pretty big, so sometimes debris gets in like dust and such that lays on top of the water. The little mermaid figure is a nice touch too.

Love these at first has odor but rince plain warm water let air dry.I have 9 of these with whisper filters3i bettas love the room

Penn Plax Pro-Balance Fish Shape Vacation Feeding Blocks - 2 Per Blister card

Penn Plax Pro-Balance Fish Shape Vacation Feeding Blocks - 2 Per Blister cardGood Vacation Feeders for extended time away from home. Dousn't appear to cloud the water either. Couldn't find any trace of the food upon my return after 8-10 days away.

These feeding blocks ruined my classroom aquarium's environment. We had a total of 10 days of spring break vacation. When I got back, the floor of the aquarium and all the plants were covered with a white debris, the water was clouded, and one fish who was visibly struggling to breath died a few days later. It took a huge amount of effort to restore the aquarium's healthy environment. I will never again use a feeding block for an extended period of time. My students and I were deeply saddened by the state of the aquarium upon our return. In the future, I will shell out the big bucks for an electric fish feeder.

I've just tried this product on a 3-gal. tank with 3 goldfish, leaving them for 10 days with one tablet.

The good news: the fish are alive (I guess, that's what matters most). The not so good one: pretty much all surfaces of the aquarium, including the plants and the innards of the pump have been covered with rather sticky white goo which wouldn't wash off on its own without actively brushing it off. A bit of a nuisance, requiring a thorough clean-up. Next time, I am going to try an automatic feeder like EHEIM Everyday Fish Feeder Programmable Automatic Food Dispenser but it's still good to have a couple of these tablets in case of an emergency.

This is a very very good item. I went out of country for over 30 days. I was almost convinced that fish will be dead by the time i am back. But I tried to give it a try. Searched for a vacation food and found this. Bought it, and just put one in my 10G tank because I was afraid adding two would over-pollute the water. And went off to India. When I came back after a month, the water was crystal clear, the fish looked perfectly healthy and none of them were dead. What a bliss. I am now always going to depend on it if I have to go on a long vacation.

We have a 20 gallon fish tank with 6 fish a varying sizes in it. We were going on vacation for 8 days and were looking for an option that would feed the fish and not gunk up the tank. After reading other reviews I decided to try Pro Balance's 14-Day feeding blocks and they were an excellent option. I placed both blocks in the tank two a day before we left just to see what would happen and how the fish would handle it. We returned for an 8 day vacation and I was pleasantly surprised to find all six fish alive and healthy and the tank was as clean as it had ever been after 8 days. I expected to find funky, cloudy water at a minimum and possibly dead fish. Neither happened and everything looked to be in great shape. I'll definitely use the Pro Balance feeding blocks for future trips.

Jardin Plastic Aquarium Grass Lawn Artificial Landscape, Green

Jardin Plastic Aquarium Grass Lawn Artificial Landscape, GreenI purchased this to use as a table covering for a safari party. It worked very well for our purposes as a dessert table covering. The price for these was much better than the cost of the grass place mats that are actually sold as party decor. These are also much larger than the small squares they also sell.

These are very nice. The grass doesn't look terribly realistic like something you would place on your lawn, however I think if it were in a fish tank as it was intended to be used it would look very realistic. The grass tufts seem to stay on well, and we had no problems with any of them falling off so the quality seems good too. Overall I wouldn't hesitate to buy this product again, and am thinking about purchasing the other style for another party I'm doing.

I feel bad giving it a 2 star, as others may find that it was exactly what they were looking for. I brought it for a fairy garden, frankly the gaps between the 'grass' is too big and it is too 'plasticky'. Do not think this will look like a lush lawn, because it most certainly does not!!

Having said that some highly coloured potted plants look pretty on it on the shed window shelf.

Just put them in the pond. I used them to replace other artificial mats that were approx. 3 year sold. Hope they last at least as long.

This is on the bottom of my fish tank and on my turtle's above tank basking area and ramp. The ease of cleaning and setting up was great.

The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the grass "tufts" come off rather easily. Not so much so that they are just flying off, but I would appreciate it if they had a little more resistance.

has large openings in between the "grass" and it is very small . I would never order this product again. plus it falls apart easily

Marina Betta Kit, Large

Marina Betta Kit Contemporary Theme, LargeI just bought this betta kit. I realized after I got my betta that all of the plastic sides are reflective. He sees a perfect reflection of himself and becomes angry and agitated, as male bettas do when they see another betta. I think this was a poor design as he is continuously trying to scare off his reflection and seems very agitated. I will be buying a new container for him tomorrow. I am not impressed.

No complaints here...great design. I use this for about 5 shrimp and some java fern. It's been 2 months and they seem to be flourishing...

Well, I've heard success stories about bettas in small tanks, but after my last two I have to say... get a bigger tank. Treat the fish like an actual pet and get it what it deserves. I feel bad because I've had two fish die and now I realize why. I changed the water every week and fed them the best food. The problem is that bettas in bigger tanks have less ammonia and nitrites to deal with. A small betta in a small tank seems to do okay because they are hardy fish, but just wait. The first fish... ugh, I can't talk about what happened, it was gross. So I went all out for the second one. Bought the pre-conditioned Betta water, got a different tank because I wasn't sure the whatever it was that killed the last betta was completely dead, and picked out a young, healthy veil tail betta. It lived for eight months and died. Meanwhile, my boyfriend bought a betta THE SAME DAY, FROM THE SAME STORE that I got my first betta only he did not get this tank, he got a 3 gallon kritter keeper and a heater and some decor. He spent more than I did that day, but his fish is still alive.

If they just made these tanks 2.5-5 gallons they'd be great! If they installed heaters in them they'd be perfect... but really people, just use this tank when you're changing the water in your real tank. Amazon has a great 5-gallon by aqueon. It even has a filter. Just baffle the filter and put a pre-filter sponge on it, add a heater and you'll be good to go. That's what I've done now. I god some black sand, large river rocks, an amazon sword, java moss, and some drift wood... my tank looks beautiful and my new betta LOVES it. I only have to change 20% of the water since I cycled the tank, and I have a ghost shrimp to help keep the sand clean AND some neon tetras with the betta. It's much more peaceful, but if you want decor, try a 3-gal vase with crystal rocks and some bamboo or a plant. As for heat, they are tropical fish and do best in warm water, but if you keep your house warm, then you should be fine without a heater.

I bought this tank because it was pretty and simple, and my son desperately wanted a Betta. That poor fish is visibly miserable. This tank is tiny. The lack of any filtration combined with such a small tank leads to cloudy water after only a few days, and even though bettas are dirty water fish, this is just sad.

I'm giving in after only a few weeks and investing in an actual aquarium.

I would give this 0 stars if I could. They should be more honest when they sell these things and tell you that fish need more room than this.

(I did not buy this tank on Amazon, I bought it at our local Pet store.)

really poorly made. bad for the fish; bad for the quality of the material it's made out of; just bad bad bad

would give zero stars if possible

had to replace my 3 gal tank due to an accident; bought this kit for temporary set-up while I waited for a new 5 gal tank to ship to me

yes I did all the right things about conditioning the water and changing only a portion of it as usual, etc, etc, etc

but terrible tiny size with no room for filter; betta stopped eating immediately

by day 4 it was barely moving; day 5 bye bye betta.

because you should only provide your betta a decent 3 gal+ tank: it is alive -an animal not decor

Marina Aquarium Showcase Bulb, 15-Watt, 120-Volt, Blue

Marina Aquarium Showcase Bulb, 15-Watt, 120-Volt, BlueThis product produces a light blue glow for your tank but does not produce sufficient light for a 10 gallon aquarium. You need the higher rated units; suggest going with the fluorescent or LED lighting.

I wouldn't recommend this product to my worst enemy. Totally awful in every respect. If you want really low levels of blue light and wattage, however, you might consider it.
