JW Pet Company Aquarium Hand Held Scrubber Pad

Nice quite motor and design keeps it quiet and prevents everything else from vibrating and making noise too. This is far better design than any of the other air pumps that I have used in the past.

Have it on a BioCube Protein Skimer drives it well. Makes good smelly guck in the collection cub and plenty of water movement in the skimmer. Better than the stock air pump that comes with the BioCube's optional protein skimmer.

Definitely not a "whisper" by any stretch of the imagination, but it does its job. I have it hooked up to a bubbler in my 10 gallon tank. Works consistently; doesn't heat up; haven't had any problems except for the vibrations that make the furniture it rests on vibrate. If you don't mind a little noise, I'd recommend this product.

TOM Aquarium Perch-Light Fixture 7W w/Compact Flo Lamp, 6400K D

This light is perfect for my small 3 gallon aquarium. It works perfectly with a light timer. The only complaint is that the bulb only lasted for about 1 month before blowing out. However, the bulb can be replaced unlike some of the LED lights available for small aquariums.

These are very nice lights. They fit on the tanks perfectly and after a month of use they are still in great shape. No burned out bulbs. I like how I can adjust them easily.

Laguna PowerFlo Filter Coupling, 4500/1000

My original filter coupling kept popping off, so I pushed the tab and it broke. I ordered this part as it was described as the same item. It came in the time promised and it fit right in and it's been working ever since. Excellent replacement part.

I have had the light over the aquarium for years before one of the bulbs burned out. I couldn't find any replacement bulbs at any of the nearby stores. I'm so happy to have found this one.

AQUARIUS AQ1224 Aquarium LED Light Strip - Expandable 18 to 24, 91 LED Lamps

Bought this for my 10 gallon quarantine tank, and it looked nice online with 91 LED's and what not, but when plugged in, the day light setting isn't all that bright. It seems to be more of a dusk or dawn lighting system instead. Although it does make the glofish pop having the blue in there. In any case ~ it seems to be built pretty well, but during the night time the tank is definitely more blue than anything else.

I own 3 of this aquarium light and I have had enough of them.

Some basic info:

91 3-5mm LED bulbs, 49 White, 42 Blue, placed in a look-alike T8 fluorescent tube

Worldwide voltage, regulated PSU @ 24V

Total power consumption @ 5W

Simple (outdated) non-regulated LED circuit 7 LEDs in a group with a 180ohm resistor

LEDs rated for ~30,000 hours

First light:

Came without a PSU. Returned it for another one.

Second light:

Complete package. Worked well for 3 weeks @ 12 hours a day till one of the group of 7LEDS went dead.

Third light:

Brand new, it was obviously brighter compared to my 2nd light. I wasn't sure whether it was because of the fault in the 2nd light but time will tell.

Two months into usage of the lights.

I am absolutely certain that the light output is decreasing. The third light is no longer as bright as before, now it is just dim. Needless to say for the second light, dimmer.

To summarises:

Unreliable; Not bright at all; Expensive for what it is

Seriously, just stick with fluorescent lights till LEDs have their reliability proved.

There is no way this LED light will achieve 30,000 rated hours at the rate it is getting dim. Actually, LED lights have a rating which states how long they will sustain the bright before decreasing in output. The last time I checked, most LEDs are rated 3000hours only.

Most fluorescent lights at rated for 10,000 hours and they have a relatively constant light output.

PondCare PH Up, 16-Ounce

I wish this was available in a larger sized container. Our koi pond is not large, a little over 1200 gallons, but it will consume this size container rather quickly. The products (I have both pH UP and pH DOWN) are effective and safe if used correctly. I do not adjust my pH by any more than 0.1 at a time and I will wait at least 3 days in between adjustments. My fish are happy and healthy.

Review for product purchased at Amazon. It is not my desire to comment, Amazon insists on revies. I normally do not do surveys and reviews. Product works as stated.

Expanded by Koi Pond and the water had to low of a PH. Used the PondCare product and it fixed the problem. Fish love their expanded digs. Delivery from Amazon was speedy.

Hydor H2Show Atlantis - Left Poseidon Decoration 13.8"x7"x3.5"

So I do have to say that from the front this is a very nice piece. But be warned that the back is hallow and looks less than appealing. If your tanks is flush against the wall and this piece is all the way to the back then it will look great, any other variation and you may not be as pleased.

nice product, have it in a 12 gal Fuvel Edge Aquar. --very detailed, makes a nice backdrop for a Atlantis theme, with this style Aquar. it almost didn't fit through the top hole, but it made it.

Goes good with the temple ruins too.

Jardin Plastic Aquarium Plants Fish Tank Decoration, Red/Purple

I bought this plant because of the good reviews and I did like the look of the plant at first glance but after looking closer...I notices strands of glue throughout the leaves and some of the plant stems were coming out of the base in my hand. This plant is going back.

I was a little concerned trying this in a betta tank but it has worked out fine. While it is plastic the material is not sharp. My fish likes to rest with her head inside the plant! The color is what caught my attention it's nice little pop of red an soft purple blend. Weighted bottom works without gravel.

The plant's arrival from shippment is sorta flat but once you have it out of package and fluff it up a bit and let it sit for a day or so its form will go back to original shape (mine did).Looks great if using black gravel as well.

WOW! Can't say too much about this plant! I had almost finished my order on Amazon when I saw this and couldn't pass it up; so glad I didn't. Deep Blue Professional ADB12909 In Tank UV Sterilizer for Aquarium, 9-watt

Save your money and buy another product. I bought this 100 gal. UV sterilizer/filter for a 46 gallon tank and the water is just as green and cloudy as it was before the installation of the filter. The UV light is working because at night in a totally dark room you can see the blue glow of the light. However, the pump does not work as I can feel no water motion coming from the ejection outlet and the water is a nasty cloudy green. I have a garden pond with a UV filter and that water is crystal clear so I know what it should look like with a fully functioning UV filter. I do not recommend this filter. If you don't like disappointment you'd be better off to keep looking and spend your hard-earned money elsewhere.

FIRST POST I am very pleased with this product. In a matter of hours after placing the sterilizer in my tank I could see the difference in clarity in my water.

SECOND POST -The UV Sterilizer has been in my tank for over a month now and I am more than very pleased with the results. My water is crystal clear and I now have very happy saltwater fish!

The first issue is that the box it comes in touts its fucntion as to kill algae and pathogens. No where on the box does it tell the buyer who Deep Blue is and where it is loctated. The instructions are non-existent. The only thing that comes with the instructions is warnings and disclaimers. The instructions consist of a childlike drawing of an aquarium with arrows with words above it which are illegible. The unit comes in two pieces and the fittings are cheap and fall apart. There is no way to determine if the unit is even working. The UV lamps are enclosed in a plastic unit and the only way to determine if the unit is working is to take it apart. Most higher level units will have a small hole to expose the lamps so the user can determine if the light is still on and working. The ciculation pump falls apart in two pieces and is so small it doesnt even produce a small ripple of water. Clearly, this does not move the water as advertised.

I was interested in the unit merely because it was submersible and I would not have to alter the flow of my Fluval cannisters to meet he flow requirements of other UV products.

Save your money and buy a unit at your local fish store so you can determine if the unit is quality.

The seller Direct Line Superstore issued a refund without argument for which I am grateful.

Love this item. Very easy to use and it is great that you can totally submerge it. The replacement bulbs are expensive as I bought a spare to have on hand.

Coralife Super Skimmer with Pump

Coralife 05271 Super Skimmer with Pump, 65-Gallon

This skimmer is probably the cheapest skimmer I could find for my 55 gal reef tank. And it works well. I'm sure you get what you pay for in some things, so itsn't as robust as some of the other skimmers. But does the trick. I empty the skimmer about twice a week. It hooks up fine. Only beef I have with it is that you need to unplug the unit before unscrewing the top collection bin to empty it. I always clean it with some paper towels when emptying it cause it gets a little stinky. I'd recommend this product to anyone doing thier first reef tank. Cause it's affordable. And we all know how expensive salt water tanks can be.

I have been running this skimmer on a 30 gallon tank for over a week now, it really works great. The skimmer only took 24 hours to break-in and now is pulling some dark smelly skimmate from my tank. I can see how easy it is to overflow the unit, which would be a problem for a hang on tank setup. It is easy to add an overflow modification to the collection cup. It was a little tricky to get the water level set right, but it is running great now. I would definitely recommend this skimmer to anyone. I purchased from petsolutions for $91 with shipping.

I have been running an AquaC EV-240 with a mag 12 pump for over a year on my 300 gallon fowlr tank, I will tell the AquaC is one of the best dry skimmers on the market, but thats all they do, I put a coralife 220 super skimmer in the sump beside the AquaC and I do have to say, I feel the Coralife with the needle wheel technology is a far superior skimmer over the high pressure injection of the AquaC, as the needle wheel pump creates far more smaller air bubbles, and we all know, the more bubbles means more contact for the skimmate to be removed more efficiently.

I purchased this skimmer to replace a Prizm skimmer. I am so much happier with it. It's been running for 2 years now and is going strong.

My main gripe with it is its adjustable flow-rate. It does have a dial for adjusting flow-rate, but I can't set it low enough. I run it on the lowest setting continuously. Many, many times after cleaning the skimmer and/or tank, the skimmer will fill the collection cup quickly with clean water. After the first filled cup or so, it settles back to the proper flow-rate and starts collecting scum again instead of tank water. Other than that, I'm happy. It fills the collection cup weekly, and the rate of skimmate (sp?) collection increases visibly every time I feed my fish, so it's very responsive.

Little Giant Rubber Trough-O-Matic® Stock Tank Float Valve TM825

We bought one of these about 6 months ago and I spent a couple of dollars on PVC pipe and fittings to make it approximately the same gadget that is sold here on Amazon for $105.00 as a pool leveler. It has worked very well to keep our pool at the desired level. I hold the PVC frame down to the pool deck with a small concrete paver. If you do make your own pool leveler, spend a bit of time cutting your PVC lengths to match the level you want to maintain. This leveler has bracket slots through which heavy duty, UV resistant cable ties can be inserted and cinched down securely to the PVC pipe. I would then recommend locking down all cable tie, PVC and leveler contact points with cyanoacrylate(Crazy)glue for a very secure package. Note that this device is also available in a metal version. If you have kids or animals running around your pool, I'd recommend the metal one, as I could see where the plastic model might break at the hose attachment if it is knocked around too much. At any rate, a few minutes spent building a PVC pool bracket will save about $94...not bad. You can see photos of the $105 dollar version by Staypoolizer here:

As should be obvious, it is very easy to reproduce this simple PVC frame. In actual use, the leveler will match pool evaporation and maintain a precise level by adding very small amounts of water continuously. If you put your ear down to it, you will hear a slight hiss as it maintains an equilibrium of water.

Had this model in my little garden pond for a couple of years.

Very primitive assembly, was leaking very early on and the housing disintegrated quickly.

I purchased this for a automatic pool filler build. The valve it's self looks to be a fairly sturdy unit. It looks like the same float valve used on a similar item that sells for 114.00 elsewhere on Amazon. I made a right angle frame-holder with a tee at the end out of Schedule 40 3/4" PVC pipe. I then made a holder for the valve out of a 4 way cross piece with 2 shorter lengths of pipe also out of 3/4" PVC. I used a rat tail file to open up the vertical part of the cross piece until it would slide up & down on the down tube. I left the fit snug enough stay in place. I mounted the valve on the arms of the cross piece with 1/4" x 2" stainless steel bolts. It's not necessary but I added a 45 degree garden hose adapter to the top of the tank to reduce stress in this area and make it easier to hook up. I spent about 20 dollars for the parts including 5 dollars for the hose adapter. Build time was about an hour. If you need glue and primer for the PVC pipe figure on another 5-10 dollars. This means for a total cost of 35 to 45 dollars you can build an automatic pool filler that is comparable to a unit selling for over twice as much. I am attaching some photos of the one I built. I have an old in-ground pool with a fiberglass liner. It has a raised lip around it that required the use of a cinder block top stone but most folks probably won't have this problem.....
