I was very happy with these rocks. I like that I'm able to reorganize the way they are stacked and my fish love swimming in between the spaces. My Cory catfish loves to rest on them during the day. I will definitely purchase more from this seller and I highly recommend this product.

Como 5pcs Plastic Non-return Aquarium Air Pump Check Valves

These worked as desired in my 1/4-in air tubing; however, I had to take a razor and trim plastic tags that were left over from manufacturing. Not that big of deal, there it is.

I'm using these for a hydroponics application, and most of them work. I've had a couple that wouldn't let air through altogether, and it took me a second to realize the failing connection was one of these check valves.

That's just bad QC. Most of the valves I received weren't defective.

Of the working valves I received, I connected one to a deep water culture (for air bubbles) and the weight of the nutrient solution went right through the valve and backed up the airline (heading towards the air pump). Needless to say the air flow stopped. People use check valves so these kinds of things don't happen.

Also, the fittings on each side must be larger than 1/4", because these valves stretch out my 1/4" airline. After I was done with the valve, I had to cut off the small bit of connected airline because it was too stretched out to use (like throwing a hot dog down a hallway).

I didn't really know much about check valves when I ordered these, but it's been some time and I've tried different brands. These are my least favorite and I wouldn't order them again.

For the price, these are great. They work well. The only negative would be the extra plastic from the molds they came out of. However, I easily trimmed them with a razor blade so it wasn't an issue.

I ordered a bunch of these to keep on hand. Well, it appears that I only got 2 useful valves out of the entire bunch. When connected to the air pump, these valves whistle, loudly. Too bad as they are perfectly sized as opposed to some of the other check valves that are available.

I'm not sure if was just bad luck but I will not chance reordering these.

Fish Mate F14 Aquarium Fish Feeder

I have owned one of these units for over two years and use it to dispense food when I am away for short periods. The primary advantage of this unit over others that I own ie Eheim, Aquachef and Rena is the ability to dispense the precise amount of food you desire and even alternate the type of food between feedings.

Filling the small compartments was somewhat problematic until I began using a 1/8 tps measure for that purpose.

Care must be taken to ensure that the food compartment unit is positioned right side up. Failure to do so results in no food being dispensed.

I spent over a week mulling over which feeder to buy. Most of them out there don't deal with pellet food well at all based on the reviews. This feeder came with some caveats based on the reviews too. But knowing what I got into made everything easy and I have to admit that this was the best purchase for my BETA fish (2 beta fish in 2 separate tanks with 2 of these feeders). The caveat that made me worry was that each compartment, when rotating, had a small ridge where all the food didn't go in, or in the case of 1 BETA fish and only 3 pellets, none of it would go in. HOWEVER, it consistently rotates to this same spot (and this was not mentioned). Therefore, when I set up the feeder, I already prepared for the fact that the feeder would essentially miss the first meal. I, therefore, fed them manually when it was first set up. After that first time, both my tanks with only 1 fish in each tank, have been operating automatically flawlessly! The easy of access to fill the individual feeding compartments was a BONUS that I didn't expect nor read about. When there is only 3 compartments left (out of the 14) with food, I go in and easily drop 3-4 pellets in the empty ones, so there is no interruption. I plan on going away for 2 weeks and I will set it to rotate just once a day with 8 pellets in each compartment in that scenario. I expect things will run smoothly.

I full endorse this product for BETA fish with pellet food since it worked well with me.

The only one I have seen that allows you to vary the amount for each day (e.g. you can put more in the feeder for the weekend but still have a "base" feeding amount during the week). Also, the only feeder I have that reliably delivers the chosen amount on the day chosen.

One problem with other (horizontal-axis rotating) feeders I have found is that the ones I tried did not reliably deliver the chosen amount; large flakes would block delivery altogether or at least reduce it, while small flakes would lead to excessive amounts of feed, unlike the Fishmate F14.

After about a year, the rotating part on the Fishmate F14 would sometimes get stuck, which is why I am awarding only 4 stars. Still, if you want the features mentioned above, it's the only game in town that I have seen (so far).

Delivery time was much better than expected.

The F14 Unit however is somewhat disappointing. The mechanism is fairly simple, but do not be tempted to load the unit and leave for several days. Try it out before you leave the fish alone. The red "pegs" used for setting the timer do not always engage.

Also, the suction cups on the unit are a joke. I made a bracket to attach it to my lamp which is much more secure.

I needed an autofeeder because I was going to be gone for close to two weeks. I bought this particular feeder because it gave me the ability to feed different types of foods to my fish while I was gone, rather than one big drum of flakes. It also gave me the ability to occasionally drop a shrimp pellet or algae wafer in the tank for my cleanup crew.

Some patience is required when putting food in this feeder. The sections are small, so it's easy to get food into another compartment or elsewhere on/around the feeder.

I used the air tube attachment to make sure no moisture got in the feeder, which seemed to work well. Granted, I don't know if the food would have been just as dry if I didn't hook the air pump up to it, but decided not to take a chance.

I couldn't find a good way to use the bracket that came with the feeder with my setup, which included a glass aquarium top. I have two female bettas in my tank (it's the males that will fight to the death), so I was reluctant to completely remove the glass top while I was gone. I also didn't want excessive evaporation of my tank water over a two week period. I was able to put my feeder on top of my light (Marineland LED) and remove a plastic filler part of my hood so the food could drop in the tank.

Overall, this product worked very well in my absence.

We love this easy to use aquarium hood on our 33 gallon fresh water tank. It fits perfectly on the top of the tank and the lighting is plenty for growing plants. I was easily able to cut openings for all the tubes and now I don't worry about any of the fish jumping out of the tank! It is lightweight and easy to clean.

Penn Plax Battleship Aquarium Fish Tank Decoration

I am a naval/history buff. When I saw this product I had to have it for my fish tank. It is fairly historically accurate and looks great in the tank. Have had several people comment on it possitively and I wish my tank was bigger to get more ships like this one. The holes in the ship are not made for larger fish but my neons, tetra's and emerald catfish go in and out with ease.

Trying to find decent aquarium decorations that don't cost a fortune seems to be almost impossible. When I found this Battleship on Amazon, I was a bit skeptical about how it would actually look considering it's low price. The other reviews and images people have posted convinced me to buy it. When it showed up, my wife absolutely loved it and was quite excited about how it looked once added to the tank.

The only downside: I wish there was a whole set of modern warships like this one sold on Amazon.

I put this in my 40 gallon tank. I drilled a few very mini holes in the top of the stack, and stuck a small air stone inside the body. My husband came home and just loved it. I have the sunken ship background and a huge rock collection with the plants. Let's just say we have some very happy loaches,flying foxes,and misc. other fishies. Four Thumbs up from this family!

We love it. My son is thrilled. It looks really nice in his tank and bubbles well. I don't know why it is Finding Nemo. There is nothing on the chest itself to indicate that.

The 1st one = after 2 years was too covered in black algae = tossed (this is my fault not a reflection on the product). Now that I'm smarter about the amount of time I leave my fish tank lights on, I needed to re-purchase. The 2nd one I bought was damaged in transit = effortless exchange for the one in my tank. I do like it, but be warned, the jeweled insert easily detaches = I have had to jam back down and then it stays. To be honest, I'm not using as a bubbler (I did my 1st one and it worked fine), but due to re-configuration of tank and then switching to a larger 55 gallon tank, I have a large bubble bar already and didn't want the hassle of running another air hose = I just use for decoration and I love how it looks.

It works and looks as intended. I'm not exactly sure of how it's tied in with Finding Nemo, because other than the packaging it doesn't have any Nemo charachters on it, however it's a great little fish tank decoration and it works perfectly. This was reasonably priced, which is why we ordered it, not necessarily for the movie tie-in.

Hydor 25w Hydrokable Substrate Heater, 14' - for Aquariums 10-17 gal

I purchased this for a planted aquarium. It heats so evenly. It sounded like a great idea to use as an under the sand heating cable so the entire tank is evenly heated. It works so well. The plants took off growing like crazy. I am so glad I tried it. It has been a year. At first like any heater, I had to adjust it until the correct temp was being delivered and I have not had to touch it since. I am totally thrilled with this product. Any hydor product has been fine for me. I used the dial thermoset with this not the digital version.

Update: it is now 3-09-2013 and I have been using this heater cable for two years in a heavily planted aquarium with assorted tetras, crystal red shrimp and guppies. The plants and fish are all in great shape. I attribute some of the stability of the tank to the heater cable since it is even heat distribution with no fluctuations. I have experienced no issues so I am not sure what to think of the other reviews I am reading. Perhaps they did not also purchase the required heat regulator? It controls the cable with a dial to select the desired temp. You would need to let these components acclimate to room temperature before using, install them properly (not touching another length of cable on the bottom of the tank and not extending the heating part outside of the tank the first black band is the line separation of non heated and the heated part of the cable which should be in the water). I could not be happier with this style of heating and have set up tank number two (saltwater) with it as well. It also is working well, one month out. I learned many years ago how detrimental heaters can be with the submersable type if not laced within a great flow of water to avoid uneven heat. With the cable heater, I have no worries and no complaints at all. If there was another rating 5 star plus, I would choose it.

I am using it on a 15 gallon aquarium freshwater and a 8 gallon aquarium saltwater

I ordered this heater for a 12 gallon aquarium in my office, which is located in our walkout basement. In the winter, this is a colder room, low to mid 60s. The 25W heater simply could not get my 12 gallon tank to 80 degF; the best it could manage was 74 degF, and this was only when I had warmed my office with a space heater. I ended up having to take the whole aquarium apart again to replace it with the 50W substrate heater, which now keeps my aquarium at the desired 80 degF. So I would recommend to use the next largest power rating up from what Hydor recommends, especially if your aquarium is located in a colder room. You don't want to have to take your aquarium apart again to replace the heater.

Note the low rating is for the bad recommendation on tank size from Hydor. Once installed so that they have enough power to heat, these are great.

Wolverine Aquarium Ornament

This is a great piece to tie together any fish tank with a Marvel scene. I wish there was more options but I have all for now.

I have been a huge fan for years and this product did not disappoint. Looks great in my aquarium. Definitely recommend for fans.
