Marina Economy Algae Scrubber

Marina Economy Algae ScrubberI bought this scrubber to clean my glass and acrylic aquariums, it works fine on the glass surface, but when i tried to clean the acrylic I immediately noticed a large amount of scratches all over it. I don't know why they sell it for both glass and acrylic, because of my experience i only recommend it to use on glass aquariums.

It beats the magnetic scrapper in my opinion.

More control. Small glass tanks it can reach without hands getting wet. I recommend it.

25 Foot - Python No Spill Clean and Fill Aquarium Maintenance System

25 Foot - Python No Spill Clean and Fill Aquarium Maintenance SystemThis is the most helpful product for any tank over 40 gallons, someone with back problems, or just those that are sick and tired of the water mess and buckets.

It's very well manufactured, even comes with a warranty, and it is soooo much easier to make a water change. Just hook it up, turn on your faucet and start syphoning. Also no mess when filling the tank back up.

If the aquarium is located a little higher than the sink you're using it will continue to syphon by itself and you can turn off the faucet. Otherwise the ratio is 5gal tank water syphoned out per gallon out of the faucet, which could be a little wasteful with bigger tanks.

I would give this product 10 stars, not 5. It's unbelievable how easy and enjoyable my fish tank maintanance become since I started using this kit. Not mentioning the quality of water and general appearance of the tank. Even algea bothers me much less since. I am always kind of sceptical when reading somebody else's product review, but never afraid to try something new myself. In this case it pays off 100% very smart, efficient and convenient device, doesn't require much space for storage and easy to use. The price is affordable as well. Do not hesitate to buy it if you have pretty big fish tank mine is 29 gallons. Along with using Emperor filter I do not have any tough time to keep my aquarium sparkling clean and my fish are healthy as never. Trust it and good luck!

This is my second NSPC&F after the first one, which lasted around 3 years of weekly use, succumbed to my punishment.

This siphon really does make a huge difference in changing the water in my 75 gallon tank -what used to take an hour now takes 20-30 minutes. Plus, there's a LOT less mess than hauling buckets of water through the house.

This product is so helpful, it's ingenious. A simple vacuum/pump arrangement lets you suck water out of the aquarium and pump it back in without effort. I have a 29 gallon tank and only a 2 gallon bucket. Water changes used to take 30-40 minutes. Now, I can accomplish the same task in 10-15 minutes depending on the water pressure I use.

In contrast to the typical siphon gravel vac that comes with most aquarium kits, I find that the fish are less startled and less traumatized by the water changes using the Python. It also sucks up more waste than the siphon vac. As a new aquarist, this handy device has made tank maintenance very easy, thus helping me keep my enthusiasm for the hobby high. Looking forward to expanding to a 55g tank in the fall. Highly recommended.

The hose and syphon end is very good and durable. I have owned 4 of these since they came out. All of them broke at the faucet end, Drain/Fill part...ended up replacing them with waterbed fill kits, and those break too. (BTW) exactly the same thing! The other issue is there in-line shut off valves are junk as well. Lost $400 of Orange Mellow Angels because I had the hose in the tank with the valve shut off....got a phone call and came back 40mins later to continue my water changes to find a broken heater and dead fish with 1/4" of water in the tank. Valve was definitely shut off! I did a test with it on another tank and witnessed it drain a 30 gal tank in 40 minutes, with valve shut off, they leak around seal....needless to say, it got pitched and I got to flush cash down the drain (dead fish). I still use them however, I hook it up directly to faucet to fill tank and use a clamp to hold hose to utility sink to drain with it. Trick is to start filling tank with it on faucet then turn water off, unscrew it and it will start the syphon for you. Hope this helps.

Exo Terra Glass Natural Terrarium Nano/Tall - 8 x 8 x 12 Inches

Exo Terra Glass Natural Terrarium Nano/Tall - 8 x 8 x 12 InchesThis tank is perfect good size for small critters, love the front-opening door feature and the vented top that also comes out (makes it easy to mist inside). I pulled out the styrofoam "wall" because it looked cheap and actually took up an extra 1.5" of space inside. I inserted some dried wood and dowels for my mantis to climb up, and the place looks great! The glass and materials are pretty high quality, and it looks beautiful sitting on my kitchen counter. I ordered mine from Amazon, and it was delivered the next day with free shipping. This tank may be too small for lizards and snakes, but small frogs and critters should do fine.

Perfect size for my daughter's baby crested gecko that was only a month old when she got it. We also removed the back decoration for the added room. We added plastic plants and the little lizard enjoys his/her home. The gecko is 2 1/2 months old now and will probably move it into a larger terrarium once he/she gets larger. My guess is this one will be good for another 4 to 5 months. High quality product, very happy with the purchase.

I really like this terrarium. It is built well, and it is designed for optimal viewing of the creatures or plants inside of it. It comes with a great removable piece of foam in the back that is painted to look natural. The foam makes it easy to stick plants or decorations into and it also has room behind it to run wires without disturbing the natural appearance of your terrarium.

I am personally using this for an arboreal tarantula, and it is absolutely perfect. The huge door in the front makes it quite easy to access the inside, and the screen lid is easily removable as well. The terrarium has a waterproof base that will hold about 2 inches of substrate. I would say that this terrarium is suitable for all kinds of small reptiles, amphibians, and arachnids. It is perfect for arboreal spiders like the Avicularia genus, although a larger enclosure may be required for an adult specimen. It would also be great for poison dart frogs, or anoles. I would not however use this item for any species that burrows, as it only allows for 2 inches of substrate.

This is a great purchase if you really want to have a beautiful display. It may be more expensive than a regular terrarium but I think it's well worth it.

Unluckely Exo-terra not sell this product in Europe or Italy (where i live), so the only chance to find this nice product is search it on amazon.com. Exist two models of this terrarium nano:

PT2599 Nano/Wide 8" x 8" x 8" 20 x 20 x 20 cm (WxDxH)

PT2601 Nano/Tall 8" x 8" x 12" 20 x 20 x 30 cm (WxDxH)

I find available on the amazon store only the PT2601. This are the features:

-Two openings, one front and one at the top.

-The small size allow to breed insects very small that without a terrarium to the right size should be confined inside plastic cups.

-This is a great showcase for a pair of mantis or for small lucertule. The background of polesterolo material is included in the package and provides housing cables or mats

-The humidity is very long in the terrarium and this is very positive because it is not necessary to spray very often.

-You can give this product a lot of accessories such as lights custom made just for this model terrarium.

Finally, a great product.

CaribSea Eco-Complete 20-Pound Planted Aquarium, Black

CaribSea Eco-Complete 20-Pound Planted Aquarium, BlackI like Eco complete for various reasons.

1) Dark almost black appearance. If you want that look this is the substrate for you. It wont fade like the painted gravel.

2) CECbasically it absorbs nutrients and your plants take the nutrients from the rocks (in a nutshell)

3) no cleaning of the rocksopen the bag, pour it in your tank, no rinsing, no mess....plug and play

4) fish safeI am a cory cat fish nut, and I hear people say it will cut their barbels... that is an urban legend. this is my 3rd tank I am using this on, all of my cories have long nice healthy barbels.

5) Easy to plant, grab my tongs/tweezers and push plant into place.

6) Cheapcheaper than Aqua soil or fluval or whatever. 20 pounds of clown puke (colored gravel) is the same price.

7) I can push my plant tabs in the substrate with ease. I do the home made osmocote plus (which I bought from amazon)

8)Stableit won't break down like aquasoil will, wont raise ph, ammonia etc....

With the money I save I can buy some plants or some fish.

I use Eco-Complete in my 10 gallon freshwater tank. I have java ferns, wisteria, foxtail, anubias nana, and dwarf baby tears who have all taken off since being planted in this substrate. The dark color makes your tropical fish's colors really stand out. Would recommend this substrate to anyone who wants to start a planted tank. 20 pounds is enough for a 10 gallon. The fact that you don't have to wash this substrate is good too.

Buy CaribSea Eco-Complete 20-Pound Planted Aquarium, Black Now

I purchased this substrate from Amazon because I had heard good reviews about it from the YouTube fish tank community. I set it up in my 55 gallon aquarium with a DIY black background, and boy do the plants look stunning! The black really brings out the color in my fish and the green/red in my plants. It has a large amount of nutrients in it, and I suppose you could use the substrate alone without fertilizers or CO2. I just use a $9.00 250m bottle of Flourish, an aquatic plant fertilizer that I bought at Petsmart. It lasts for 2 years for the size of my aquarium, so it's a worthy investment.

My only complaint about this product is that it is kind of misleading when it says that it has beneficial bacteria in it to cycle your tank. Please don't take it like it will instantly cycle your tank. It comes packed in water which is cycled, and smells very foul when you cut open the bag. ALSO, make sure that when you open the bag that you open it up over your aquarium or over a tub/outside, as it is almost like vacuumed sealed and it will splash. I made that mistake and it spilled all over my floor. No big deal, though. Anyway, you need to let your aquarium cycle completely just like you would with any other aquarium.

The substrate itself consists of very small sand particles and small sized granules. The package says that the small particles sift down to the bottom of the tank naturally to allow for optimum root growth and CO2/Nutrient supply, which is mostly true. Some of the particles still are on the top layer of the substrate, but overall the statement is true.

The bag also says that you do not need to wash this substrate before filling your aquarium up. I have found this to be completely true. Because it comes packed in water, there is really no residual dust on the granules. You may have a little cloudiness for 2 hours to a day depending on the amount of filtration/size of the tank, but it's again no big deal. Only 3 days after setting up my tank the water was crystal clear.

Overall I would give this substrate a 4/5. Would buy again, but not at the normal price it is listed for (30 bucks). I'd buy it from my LFS which sells it for 17 per 20 lbs.

Eco-Complete is one of my favorite substrates for freshwater aquariums. It is extremely easy to work with: no rinsing required! I just lay it down in an empty tank, and slowly add water. The faint cloudiness will dissipate within a matter of hours. Compared to similar substrates that you need to rinse first, this saves a tremendous amount of time and water.

This substrate does not have any appreciable amounts of nutrients "built in" to it but that is not a bad thing! Eventually, all the nutrients from those substrates that include it will be depleted what really counts is the "CEC" (cation exchange coefficient). In a nutshell, this refers to the ability of the substrate to grab on to nutrients in the water and hold them until the plants remove it. Eco-complete has a rather high CEC and is very effective at containing the nutrients found in the water column so the plants can make the most of it.

This substrate is fine enough for very delicate roots to work their way through, but coarse enough to hold them in place. However, it is a touch on the light side so one must be careful when rearranging plants/decor so as not to stir it up too much.

All in all, I have great results growing freshwater plants in this substrate, both with no fertilizers at all and also with dosing the Estimative Index for nitrogen, phosphate, and potassium and micro nutrients.

I really enjoy using eco-complete in my tank. No rinsing needed! Just dump it in and in a few minutes the water is clear and ready to go. It is easy to plant in and nothing uproots and floats away. The dark color really helps to show off the plants and fish. Will be using this in all future tanks.

This item smells toxic. I returned it without putting it in my aquarium. I kept a similar product I purchased from the same company that smelled just as bad and I did everything I could to remove the smell. Soaked it in a bucket for days, ran it through the dishwasher, scrubbed it with Dawn. Nothing helped. I finally put it in a closet. I've had it for over a month and there is no reduction in smell. I don't believe there will ever be time when the smell of the material goes away.

This fake anemone was sold to me by Given-Arts, which is a good seller, and I know that some of their products are great. The cush-ball style fake anemones they sell do not smell bad and are tank safe so don't write them off entirely. I put one in my tank and it didn't hurt the fish. Given-Arts refunded my money promptly for the bad smelling item but refused to pay shipping since they insisted their products are safe for fish and I don't have proof they are not. The customer service was responsive and friendly.

Finnex Digital Temperature Control Glass Heater, 300-Watt

Finnex Digital Temperature Control Glass Heater, 300-WattI got this heater around Jan. 20th 2012 and put it in a 46g bow front tank. The tank sits within 7ft of the house thermostat and I like to keep our house temp about 66-68 degrees in the winter and 72 to 74 degrees in the summer, I live in Virginia and I like it cold. The 300 watt is probably over-kill but I intended to move my fish to a 75g, so I never even put substrate in or much in the way of decorations. There is also an airstone in front of the heater so it gets completely un-impeded water flow. The water level sits about 3-4 inches above the fully submersed heater.

The cord is round and flexible un-like a lot of submersible cords but it's only 5-6ft long. Since my plug is directly behind the tank, this is just perfect and still leaves a nice safety loop hang for me. The heater itself is about 15 or 16 inches long (I put a ruler on the outside of the tank an made an estimate) and the bottom is covered with a rubber cage, which again was fortunate since I had no gravel and the suction cups eventually lost their hold... or I may not have bothered w/ them too much b/c I just put the heater in a vertical position to begin with. Knowing how I am, I probably read EVERY single word on the directions...twice, and followed instructions precisely on how to set it up. When I first set it up during our unusually warm winter, I would notice the LCD temp. reading drop to 75 and shortly after I would see the orange light come on telling me it was heating, and back to my set temp. of 76 it would go, in other words, it worked perfectly! It's mid Sept. now, my poor fish are still living in the 46g b/c I have not had the time to build the rock wall for my other tank yet, but honestly, I don't think I have seen the temp. reading change from 76 degrees since this spring. I've double checked the temp. with a reliable digital thermometer throughout the year and they both read 76 degrees. Really the only con so far has been the suction cups, including the one on the probe, certainly not a deal breaker. Hopefully it will continue to do well this winter and maybe I'll be able to move it to the 75g and report back. I have 3 other tanks that could use a new heater since all of them heat the the water to 80 or so degrees even though the dial is as low as it can go, 3 different brands too.

UPDATE: Feb. 2013, the heater is no longer heating, just a giant thermometer now. I've never had a heater stop heating, usually they start over heating and cook the fish so even though it no longer works, at least it didn't kill my fish. The visible thermometer let me know the water was too cold & something wasn't right. I've bought some pretty cheap heaters in the past but they all lasted longer than a year. It seemed like a really well built heater but just didn't last unfortunately. I got a Fluval E around the same time for a different tank and that's been doing great so far so may try that one again.

I actually liked the overall design of this heater and the fact that it had the LED display on the unit itself. So, I went ahead and purchased it. It took less than 3 weeks for it to fail miserably. It switched on to heat mode and never shut off! Tried unplugging it, dialing down the temperature, and even letting it sit for a while, all to no avail. I have a pretty hefty investment in my tank and I got lucky in that I was able to catch the problem before it killed all of my fish. Don't want a replacement for it. Not interested in trading junk for junk. Pulled it out and bought a Fluval. Will try to get my money back. If you are reading this, think hard and long before wasting your money and jeopardizing your investment on this "product". Lesson learned here... READ THE REVIEWS before you invest your hard earned money!

I initially loved this heater because of the LEDs & being able to know the temp from across the room, so much that I bought 3 over a 2 month period. Now I'm severely regretting it because the LED readout is going out on the oldest one. It is set for 84 degrees (discus tank) and reads as if it was set for 6u.

I will not buy another Finnex product & refuse to pay the shipping for a replacement that may start going out in 3 months too. I just bought 3 Eheim Jager heaters to replace them & will buy a separate LED thermometer to use in unison with the "classic" glass thermometer I have in each tank.

Heater looks great, nice digital display. Heated my 48 degree water yo 75 in one day. Next day it was 81 and the display was out. Thinking it might have to reset I unplugged it and tried again the next day. The display did not come on when I hit the thermostat button. Instead there were sparks and arcs inside the glass tube and then it exploded. The glass cracked and my house filled with acrid smoke and ozone. Could be just a fluke and I would have tried another one but that wasn't an option, credit my card only.

Fluval Biomax Bio Rings - 500 grams/17.63 ounces

Fluval Biomax Bio Rings - 500 grams/17.63 ouncesThis is really an amazing value. Ceramic filter media like anything else in life vary in quality a great deal. Fluval Biomax is incredibly porous because it's not tumbled and polished. It's the rough texture and millions of tiny crevices that attract nitrifying bacteria like a magnet and encourage rapid growth.

Because these are so textured and allow for full water flow through colonization is very fast and you'll see the results of this product in fewer ammonia spikes as well as more stabilized water parameters. At this price they're beyond a great deal, plus this item is Prime eligible so add free shipping to boot.

My suggestion is to order more than you think you'll need remember to rinse them in aquarium water not tap water. The same applies to filter maintenance always rinse any filter media in water taken from the tank the filter serves. This protects all the healthy bacteria while getting rid of the gunk. Using tap water will kill your colonization on contact.

Although Fluval states to replace these every six months, I can assure you after 40 years of keeping fish this only to sell more product. In fact ceramic media will last almost indefinitely so there's rarely a reason to replace them. They're also great for seeding a new aquarium filter and shortening the cycle period.

Next to the eheim splintered glass spheres this is one best media you can use a great product at an incredibly deep discount.

I use this in several filters, not just in the Fluval canisters. It is great bio-material. I DO NOT change it out on the 6 month recomendation that is on the box. This will last much longer than that. I simply rinse once a month and keep it running through. I will remove any broken or crumbled ceramic rings, but those are far and few between.

Great stuff!!!

I've had my tank up and running for a month prior to buying the prefilter media, bio media, and filter floss. Before I installed these, my water was fairly clear, just a little cloudy, but nothing that I would have worried about. However, after I put this in, my water was crystal clear. I've never had a tank with water so clear. It's quite amazing. I have a fluval FX5 filter with the prefilter media and a bag of carbon on the top rack, 2nd shelf has 2 boxes of fluval bio media, and 3rd shelf has the filter floss with 2 boxes of biomedia. That's what it took to fill my filter. I found it was cheapest at the time on amazon. I have a 125g tank with a walleye and a couple dozen feeder fish (so a fairly messy bunch of fish). I highly recommend this stuff. Works great (been using this for 3-4 months).

TOM Aquarium Maintenance Algae Scraper Multi Tool 14 Length

TOM Aquarium Maintenance Algae Scraper Multi Tool 14 LengthI really like this set for cleaning our aquarium. It's nice not to get your hands in the water when scraping the glass or cleaning the sand. My only complaint is that it would be really nice if the scraper rotated 90 degrees to either side. We have a bow-front aquarium and you can only scrap the front glass from side to side. If you try to scrape up and down (the only way this guy will work) you just scratch two lines at either end of the blade. Overall, not a huge deal...

Works great on my tank for the areas my clean up crew doesn't get to. Love the interchangeable heads and the long handle.

API Freshwater PH Test Kit

API Freshwater PH Test KitThis is an easy and cheap way of testing PH. It doesn't need to be calibrated like the electronic ones , just put the water that needs tested in the tube, then a couple drops of the liquid , shake and match the color up on the supplied PH chart.

There is no guessing. The product is easy to use. Just follow the instructions and you will know the pH you are looking for. Also the product was shipped in a timely manner.

I got this to test my pH while setting up a freshwater tank. Where I live, the water is quite hard, so I knew some adjustments would be needed. This is a very simple to use kit and the laminated card that tells you the explanation of the test result colors is great. However, because it only goes up to 7.5, I had to do a lot of guesswork to get my tank down to those levels. The color stays the same until the pH falls down to the levels this kit is designed for not a design flaw at all, but it isn't the most effective kit when you live in a hard water area. I suspect the same would be the case if you live somewhere with very soft water, too.

if your growing plants. then one of these is very handy. i ordered 5. and according to professional growers. ph test kits such as these are very suggested because they are very accurated. although expensive ph meter/ or test pens are also good, they are expensive around 80 and you can use it for a certain amount of times then you have to calibrate it again to increase the potency in accuracy. I avoid doing that because a good digital ph is like 80+ and plus the calibration to calibrate it back to default is extra. so i purchased 5 of these to get free shipping and got it. and each pack works for 250 times or 250 tests. so this is definitely a good deal to get. before you order make sure you find out the ph level you need to achieve for either your plants or fish tanks. instructions seems tricky at first but look at the same card. fill water till line. 3 drops. shake it up. and match colors.

Boyd Chemi-Pure Elite 11.74 oz

Boyd Chemi-Pure Elite 11.74 ozI have two large aquariums 1 x 160gal & 1 x 265gal with the best filtration you can buy, Eheim2250 and FluvalFX5 and additional internal filters. I keep South American cichlids in one tank and Asian breeds in the other. I was always frustrated that I could not eliminate completly the cloudiness in the water no matter what I tried. I read about ChemiPure Elite on Amazon and bought 10 packs to try Chemi-Pure Elite Aquarium Filter Media 11.74 oz. This product is truly amazing and I mean amazing after only 36hours using the manufacturers directions I had crystal clear water. Crystal Blue Clear So clear it has made a difference how my fish look under lighting. My friends have been amazed at the difference and another friend is already using it. This is truly an outstanding product, you will never regret purchasing it. Go get some now!!!!!!!

I've used Chemi-Pure in a number of different filters and have always had amazing results. I've kept agressive chiclids, African chiclids, and marine fish and live rock tanks using Chemi-Pure. My water always tested very well.

If you've never used Chemi-Pure before, you need to determine how many bags you need. I had a Marineland Magnum canister that required 2 bags to fill the carbon canister (it was a tight fit though).

I am a huge fan of using multiple filters with different filter media in them. This enables you to clean one out while leaving the other one undisturbed so as not to harm the good bacteria the tank needs. No matter how good your chemical media is, you need to stock properly, feed judiciously, and perform your tank maintenance. Chemi-Pure is good, but it won't make up for neglect.

I love this stuff, at least as much as you can love bags of charcoal and ion exchange resins. I'd only suggest it if you have a canister filter. I use an Eheim 2211 and it works great.

I bought this because it absorbs nitrates and phosphates. I don't want to mess with live plants. I have a 10 gallon with three fish at about 70% bioload. My nitrates stay at a constant 10 ppm. They don't go up, they don't go down. I've had my aquarium up and running for a few months and still haven't had to do a water change. Apparently, I should only have to change this once every six months.

I'll never go back to just activated carbon again.

TaoTronics 120w Dimmable Led Aquarium Lights Aquarium Hoods Led Reef Light for Coral Fish Seaweed T

TaoTronics 120w Dimmable Led Aquarium Lights Aquarium Hoods Led Reef Light for Coral Fish Seaweed TT-AL09(3w/Led, Blue/White Ratio- 28:27; Two-Year Warranty)I bought 2 of these LED lights to replace 504 watts of 48" VHO Florescent lighting for 75 gallon tank (48"x18"x 20")with very good results so far. The 48" VHO's were mounted under canopy lid and I completely removed them and cut 2 evenly spaced rectangular holes (15.75" x 8.50") in the canopy lid. Inside the lid I mounted 2 pieces of .25" acrylic to cover under the holes for the lights to set on. I set the LED lights on top outside the canopy so they would shine through the acrylic and does not get moisture like the VHO's did. Mounting the fixtures in the dry on the outside on top of canopy will greatly increase the lifespan of the fixtures. I used separate timers for the white & blue dimmable lights for a sunrise effect. After acclimating the corals to the new LED lighting with the dimmers, I found that in my aquarium I could not run the LED's @100% it was too bright for my corals (slight bleaching effect) so I dimmed to 50% with great results. With the White @50% & Blue @50% , both fixtures together consuming 110 watts @50% compared to 504 watts VHO previously. The heat factor was also greatly reduced! My corals (all Softies) are all doing great after 3 months of these lights running @50% capacity. The 3 fans on each fixture are very quiet and keep the fixture cool. These LED's are very bright and evenly distribute light throughout the whole aquarium mounted 7" above water surface. The Shimmer effect is fantastic! After a lot of research of LED fixtures, I would certainly recommend these affordable LED lights to any Aquarium enthusiast looking for alternative lighting.

The light is well built and sturdy. Hanging kit worked perfectly. Complete dimming control from 100% to completely off. My only complaint is the case which appears to be powdercoated metal, it looks nice but I worry about longevity in a salt water environment.

I recently ordered these lights and they were shipped FedEx from China. I'm impressed with so much on this transaction and the first being the fast and secure shipping as well as the price and quality of these 2 units.

My set up is a 225 system this is a deeper tank than the normal yet the lights shine to the deepest part of the tank I have a 1/3 CHILLER and a 40 gallon sump that houses 2 filter socks, a protein skimmer and a UV sterilizer. My tank has never looked better and the fans 3 per unit are super quiet and do a great job of venting the warmer air out of the hood area.

I actually received then in early November but had them installed only last week. They replaced 2 400 watt MH bulbs as well as a bulky and hot ballast. The install used 4 brackets for each until hung from the inside of my canopy running on timers the whites on from 12:30 PM until 6 the blues from 10 AM until 6 supplementing the 2 LED units are 4 T5 25 Watt Actinic on from 9 AM to 10 PM.

I made the decision to replace the MH with LED for a number of reasons and the main reason being electricity costs and bulb replacement cost every 12 months. I needed to buy new MH bulbs but before I decided to spend the $200 I made the wise decision to go with LED. I did my research and ended up with the TAO TRONICS units for cost, quality, features and ease of ordering.

They ARE FANTASTIC the water shimmers my corals never looked better and I can't wait to see the enery saving next month as I estimate a savings of $30 $40 per month on my electric bill. I already notice my chiller going on less and the stable temperature is at least 1.5 degrees lower with the new LED lights.

I highly recommend the TAO TRONICS units you can't go wrong and the price will gradually drop and more features will be added but I'm glad to have jumped on the LED bandwagon!!!

I purchsed this product due to the Price. I did have an issue when I received the 2 sets of lights. On one of my lights the White LEDS did not work at all. After receiving instructions from the customer service center on on what to do to try and fix the issue and after taking the cover off I figured out that the one of wires was not making contact. I resoddered the wire and that fixed the lights, since then i have had no issues. I am very pleased with the lights. they really do make my corals in my aquarium stand out and the fans are super quiet.

I have to say I'm very impressed with the light. I got it hung this morning. The included hanging kit comes with 4 cables and a quick disconnect. It was easy to hang "had to make a hardware store trip for some extra cable to hang for the ceiling" I'm running the light at 40% blue and 20% white till my coral gets used to the extra light. Even at the low setting it appears much brighter than my old nova extreme 4 bulb t5 setup. At a full 100% blue/white the light is crazy bright.

All my coral pop with color. My Sps have great polyp extension. I'm very excited to see what kind of growth I get. All of my zoanthids look great. Only coral that does not seem to like all the extra light is my yuma, but that is dead center under the light at this time and will soon be moved to one of the outer walls of the tank.

One light does seem to cover my 40 gal breeder well. I've hung the light 8" above the water level and it appears to cover the entire tank. I'll be really excited once I can have the par levels tested on the tank.

Also I all ready plan on buying a 2nd light for a frag tank.

Shipping came very fast. The light did come from China and traveled over 11,000 miles to reach me. I placed my order and had the light 5 business days later.

ProClear Aqautics Premier 200 Wet Dry Filter with Prefilter

ProClear Aqautics Premier 200 Wet Dry Filter with PrefilterWell worth the investment.

If you have 100+ gallon tank and you want it clean and clear without spending hours per week on tank maintaince get this filter (and an additional pump of course, i use the 'marineland 5500').

Setup is easier than you think, once its up and running upkeep is pretty simple and comparatively infrequent.

The only con is the noise, on a scale of 1 to 10 (10= loud 1= silent) I would rate the noise at a 4 to maybe a 5. For comparison I would rate the marinland 350 bio-wheel filter at a 3 and a half.

I've been running one of these filters on my 120 gallon freshwater tank for about the last four and a half years. It's performed flawlessly and it keeps the water very nice. Maintenance is easy and it can be performed in a few minutes without having to get inside of the tank or filter. I just use a bucket and pull out the pad and sponge from the filter and the two foam cylinders from the overflow boxes, wash them out in cool water and re-install.

I'm using a 900 gallon an hour rated Rio pump with this setup. Getting it set up and going is quite easy and getting the siphon tubes running and the water level set where you want it to be in the tank is about the toughest part.

My filter doesn't seem to be excessively noisy but it's also mounted inside of a closed cabinet under the tank so that probably helps quite a bit.

Aquatic Fundamentals Black Scroll Aquarium Stand

Aquatic Fundamentals Black Scroll Aquarium StandI assumed this had shelves!!! Not worth $50 when you have to spend another $40 for the glass shelves. The screw holes didn't line up and made it a little difficult to assemble.

Ok so the product itself is ok but how about the holes

are off center from the holes on the legs, so I have to go find longer bolts in order to put this thing together. I am not happy about that.

I wanted something sturdy and easy to assemble. I like the quality it was just what I required for my 20 gallon aquarium. The only problem I had was that the holes didn't aline properly so assembling it took a little more time than I expected. Overall I would recommend the aquarium stand.

This is an attractive stand here on the Amazon site, but it didn't have the right dimensions when I got it home. Wound up getting one from Drs Smith and Foster instead, which was perfect. I was able to return this at a local Petco, which was surprising.

Marineland Penguin Power Filter Replacement Bio-Wheel

Marineland Penguin Power Filter Replacement Bio-WheelFor the rare occasion that your Bio-Wheel gets damaged (they don't ever need replacing if they are in working condition), this replacement filter wheel is top-notch. I picked one up a few weeks ago because I downgraded to a smaller fish tank with a filter that required a Bio-Wheel that I didn't have anymore. The wheel works in the Penguin 99B filter, as well as the Marineland/Aqua-Tech Hex 5, and the Eclipse system 5 hex tank. Very versatile bio-wheel that fits most small tank filter assemblies. Also, the seller (OzBo) was great, and had super fast shipping.

The bio works great and they last a very long time or forever if you move just put the wheel in a glass of the tank water. i didnt know this when i moved and i just threw it away thinking i could find a new one at a pet store. i was so wrong i look at big and smal pet stores and none of them had it. the shipping will cost more then the product tho! but 8 bucks and with how ling it last it is worth it.

Aquatic Creations Hornwort Aquarium Plant, Orange/Red

Aquatic Creations Hornwort Aquarium Plant, 8-Inch, Orange/RedTHERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS AND IS VERY COLORFUL. I THOUGHT IT WAS SILK OR RAYON BUT TURNED OUT TO BE PLASTIC WHICH IT DOES SAY IN THE AD. FORTUNATELY IT IS SOFT AND IS WHY I AM KEEPING IT.

MY BETTA NEEDS TO BE MOVED INTO A 2.5 TANK FROM A 1 GALLON SO I NEEDED TALLER FAKE PLANTS. HE RESTS/SLEEPS IN ONE LIKE IT'S A BED. I ALSO ORDERED A MATERIAL ONE SO I'LL SEE HOW THEY BOTH DO.

ADDED 7/23/2013 I am changing my comment to add that this is not like plastic but like a soft rubber. My Betta has taken to it so I would say go ahead an order it. Everything is all set up and he has been in his new larger home with all new things and is happy to have all this room. I would definately order more if the time comes.

U.P. Aqua Co2 Reguator w/double gauges

U.P. Aqua Co2 Reguator w/double gaugesGreat product. Works well and looks pretty flashy. Only issue I really had with it was the connector threads were a little loose and had a hard time tightening them with the alan wrench. Even with teflon tape I still had a leak between the connector and regulator until I finally found a regular wrench and tightened it to almost the point of stripping the threads.

Luckily I have a paintball adaptor screwed into it as well so I'll never have to mess with looseing and tightening the connections on the regulator again, will just have to screw a new tank into the adaptor.

Oh, one other thing, there aren't any directions, so make sure you research before you put together. You'll want to have the on/off valve 100% on when attaching a new tank or else you're going to have an impossible time with it and make sure you can screw it fast or else you'll lose a lot of your CO2.

Have a 50g tank with a few plants in it and some shrimp. I was having issues with plant growth so decided to go with a Co2 system. First I tried the one that the local petstore sells, that uses super small co2 tanks (like co2 pellet gun size) and noticed I was using almost a tank every 2 days. Returned that fast. Went with this and a 5lb co2 tank from a local gas supplier. LOVE IT. have it set on timers running 13 hours every day and it works flawlessly. Also with the 5lb tank setup the needle has barely moved in the 3 weeks I have been running it. Very cost effective.

I've been running the regulator for 7 weeks now without a flaw. Holds bubble count amazingly. Only two complaints are that it doesn't come with a crush washer for between the regulator and tank, and my needle valve is upside down. But no big deal.
