Exotic Environments Nile Crocodile Skull Aquarium Ornament
This has grey and brown paint on it. When I initially cleaned it (before use) in my sink, I noticed the paint coming off. I used a scrub brush and most all of the paint came off, turning the water in the sink cloudy. After several scrubbings and changing the water, it quit shedding paint. Didn't look as cool following the paint removal. It's been in my aquarium for several months now, and no paint issues tank and fish are fine. I's collected its own natural "patina" from algea, etc, and now looks fine (about the way it did with the paint). Has a hollow upper portion and my Dinosaur Bicher and Brown Loach Eels reside in there. My plecostomii like to hang out in the sheltered mouth area. It's a good decoration just be sure to get all the loose paint off prior to use. I'd recommend...with caution.

It is very nice addition to my 10 gal aquarium. Would recommend this. I have baby fish that hide under the skull. It was larger than I thought and our male Beta fish took to it instantly and I see him swimming actively engaging with it now. When resting, he definitely likes to go inside and just sit there. The quality is also very good (but of course I don't buy a lot of these types of things).

Buyer beware, this light fixture has a serious design flaw. The manufacturer states that it is a 48" fixture, but they don't mention that the power supply plugs into the end of the fixture. This makes the overall length of the lighting fixture more than 49 ", too long to fit in an enclosed canopy! If you have any type of enclosed canopy on your 48" aquarium this lighting fixture will not fit!!! I. Had to go to RadioShack and buy a replacement power supply, one with an elbow connector, in order to fit the fixture inside the canopy.

I have one on a 54 gallon corner aquarium and it can really move some water around, WOW! I only wish there was some way to reduce the amount of flow on these. I have it pointed a little above level to create surface agitation and it still moves the sand on the bottom of the tank creating dunes in the sand. My tank is 22" deep. In order to actually use it I took out the propeller and trimmed it down to a more reasonable flow rate, it was not too hard just make sure its equal on both sides. great product for the price.

I bought this divider after my original (homemade) one broke and my two male bettas fought. My divider was made from those report cover binders much like what is in this product. The good thing about it though is that on the sides it is reinforced so the divider doesn't slip or have to be held up by gravel.The screen that comes with this is really flimsy and not suitable for two male bettas, as it was clear and they could see each other well. I took the plastic canvas (purchased at a craft store) from my original divider and set it up with that instead. Works really well!

This tank divider is comprised of 4 slotted strips of plastic, one plastic divider and 2 hooks. The dividers that go along the sides of the tank are more substantial than the ones that go across the top and bottom. The plastic divider is thin and flexible full of tiny holes to allow water circulation, and easily trimmed to fit your particular aquarium. My 10 gallon aquarium is a pretty standard rectangle, and this divider still needed a half inch trimmed off in order to fit correctly.I am using this divider to separate two bettas. They can clearly see each other through it. But they are small fish and can't do much to get at each other. I could see where a larger fish could, were he so inclined, swim at the divider with enough force (and I don't think it would take too much force) to push it out of the slots and free himself. The photo on the box shows a larger fish. I believe that fish could easily overcome this barrier if it tried.
The hooks that are holding it at the top are the same weight as a heavy duty paper clip. My least favorite thing about his divider is that the clips extend over the edge of the aquarium in the front and back. In the back the clip exits the lid through the same hole as my tank filter. In the front, the lid no longer sits flush because there is a wire clip sticking out of the middle of the tank. That's pretty lame.
However, what it comes down to is that it is effective (for my fish), to stays upright and doesn't move or fall over, and so far shows no sign of failing (it's been only a week).

I was satisfied with this product. the light quality is bright and crisp. i have always had florescent bulbs, and will say that this light seems superior. sufficiently bright, and good fish colors. the night light ('moon light') feature is cool too, and nice since we like to leave it on in the kitchen when we sleep, to guide us to late night snacks ;) BUT MAKE SURE YOU MEASURE YOUR FILTER! there is only ONE slot in the back and it measures approx 6.5" x 2.5" (measurements i could not find anywhere online!! so hope this helps you). my filter is 7" wide, so i had to take scissors and cut the plastic (kind of hard to do, but i was able to get it with some effort, and maybe scarified the scissors). and ONE hole means no space for a heater (unless you have a fully submersible kind, or dont care about using one, or are fine cutting more holes in the hood). i just dont use a heater, so that didnt bother me. as others mentioned having no spot to feed the fish can be annoying, but really, just lifting the lid (its hinged) is really not a big deal. overall, i considered the problems not that bothersome, and enjoy the light quality enough to ignore the annoyances.

Are the LEDs going to be bright enough?
I think I read a review that said they weren't. Well, I'm quite picky about lighting, so I bought an extra red LED light as a part of a decor feature Hydor Ario Red Volcano Kit (Med)as an extra security: if the brightness of the LEDs was really not up-to-par, at least I would have a secondary light source.
Well, I was happily surprised when I turned on the hood light, which exceeded my expectations in brightness. The white lights are so true and pure and bright. The white light makes each color very clear and bright in the tank. The white light setting is actually too bright for night (I have the tank facing my son's bed).
All LEDs are not created equal, that is for sure. Previously, I purchased a small cylindrical aquarium for my desk; it had LED lights, but they were barely bright enough to fill the tank and barely make enough light to even use as a nightlight.
These lights are quite bright; fine LEDs, no need to worry about that one.
The blue moonlight setting is so unbelievably beautiful for night! I put it on for a soothing nightlight for my son to sleep by. Furthermore, I think it soothes the fish to have blue light at night, too. They need a break from the light, just like they would at night in their natural setting in the wild.
If you haven't switched your tanks to LED lights please note that not only are the lights more beautiful than incandescent, which always seem to have a bit of yellow to them (NOT a good thing when it comes to aquarium lighting) they are also energy hogs. LEDs are low-watt wonders: they produce beautiful, bright light (if built right) and use very little energy, which pays you in the long run. Plus, and this is a BIG PLUS, they don't give off heat, which means far less algae. I mean, CONSIDERABLY LESS.
I only had to change my small LED lit tank ONE time in six months and the water was crystal clear when I changed it. Really. That is a far cry from the old incandescent ones that seem to cloud up every time you turn around. That means CONSIDERABLY less work and more enjoyment from this product.
Combined with the volcano red LED Hydor Ario Red Volcano Kit (Med)decor and the thrilling Sea Serpent decoration, my son now has a unique, gorgeous and fascinating tank to view before he dozes off at night.

In general I like the clarity and brightness of LED lighting, but I have to admit that I am not sure whether I can say I like it in the fish tank. My old flourescent hood provided a warmer light than this LED hood does, even though the mixing of blue LEDs in with the white was meant to tone down the light. I do like the night or "moonlight" mode which just uses the 3 blue LEDs. This offers my fish a good transitional period between day and complete dark.At first, I really liked the low-profile look of the hood. I thought it was kind of cool that the whole hood hinged upwards when you opend it and attached directly to the tank instead of just resting on top of it. I quickly came to the conclusion that is not a very cool feature. First off the condensation on the underside of the hood races to the back and runs off. For the most part, it just goes right back into your tank but if you have an over-the-back filter, that means you now have water all over the top of your filter. Also, when you are opening the hood to feed your fish, it drips all over the place. The first time I fed my fish, I had the open food container in the same hand I used to partially prop open the hood and had a bunch of water drip into the container. That really pissed me off considering a small container of food is $12 and I couldn't salvage much. It is just poor design planning.
Also important to note about condensation is if you have hard water in the least bit, you will get deposits on not only the underside of the hood, but the light lens, and possibly the OTB filter. Add to the fact that the light lens is plastic so you cannot scrub hard-water off of it without scratching the hell out of the plastic lens and you have longevity issues. Even if you don't have very hard water, over time you will get deposits, it is just a fact of life in the aquarium hobby. Condensation management for this hood just plain sucks. Maybe if you live in an area where the humidity is very high and you don't condition the air in your house you will not have the kind of condensation issues I am having.
I also don't like the light coverage inside the tank. The edges of the tank are not lit up as they would be with a flourescent bulb spanning the entire length of the tank. Add to this that when you open the hood, the LEDs move away from the water and shine in your face. This design oversight means there is no way to make changes to the tank's contents and see how they look as you make the changes if you are trying to set it up for display. Instead, you have to remove your arm and close the lid to get the visual. As I was changing the tank contents around to make it look the best under the new lighting conditions, this became a pain. I suppose it is a one-time issue.
Also, the break-away/cut-away section on the hood for OTB filter and cords, etc.. seems to be opposite of my previous hoods. I had to completely rearrange the contents of my tank so that I could move the heater and filter and other accessories to take advantage of this hoods setup. I was not a happy camper! I spent a lot of time getting my tak the way I liked it and then had to try and mimic that in a mirrored version to make this hood work. (That should have been my clue to send it back, but I pressed on...)
Finally, there is no way to open the hood in increments. It is either fully open or closed. This means that when doing maintenance, you have to have no lighting in the tank because the LEDs are staring you in the face. I know, just turn them off but then you have to turn them back on and close the lid to see if what you were doing is actually complete.
In summary, I was not impressed. I think with more effort in the design department and more commitment by the manufacturer to develop something that helps to showcase the contents of an aquarium as well as lnot inhibit the ability to maintain the tank, LED lighting has the potnetial to take the hobby by storm. Right now, though, the only bragging rights this product has in my opinion are "First to Market". I would wait before making an LED hood purchase.

The white LED lights are bright and illuminate the aquarium nicely. The clips fit securely to the aquarium frame and the hinges on the hood snap into the clips. The hood fit nicely into the frame of our 10-gallon aquarium. The handle on the front is easy to grasp and there is a removable piece near it you can take out so you can have a small opening in the hood (about 1" by 2") if you want for easy feeding without opening the hood.The cutout opening in the back has plenty of room for our Fluval C2 power filter, both when the hood is closed and when it is open.
The LED unit itself is a separate module that snaps into the top of the hood. The switch is on the top of the LED unit slide it all the way to the left for the white day light, all the way to the right for the blue light and to the center if you want to turn it off.
We are very pleased with this hood/light.

I own two 29 gallon aquariums (30x18x12)and had been using a flat glass versa top and putting a standard strip light that you could pick up from Wal-Mart for under $10 as lighting. I replaced the standard 24 inch bulb in the light strips with Aqueon T-8 Full Spectrum Daylight Fluorescent Lamp bulbs. I used this approach because I was worried about evaporation and glass versa tops hold in water pretty well. This hood does a comparable job, perhaps allows a bit more evaporation. I purchased one of these hoods and instantly decided to purchase another after seeing the difference in lighting.My 29 gallon aquariums houses juv. African cichlids of various species ranging from dwarf Mbuna to piscivore Haps and these LED lights really pulls out their color. I had to cut out more room in the back of the hood to allow for more "hang on the back" filters because my aquariums are, from a technical standpoint, "overstocked".
LED lighting is in my opinion much better than the Aqueon T-8 Full Spectrum Daylight Fluorescent Lamp bulbs that I had been previously using. These LEDs enhance the blues and yellows of my African cichlids great and produce a clean looking white light that I think looks more natural. That being said, you can purchase some absolutely amazing aquarium specific light bulbs that specialize in various things such as plant growth or specific color enhancement.

TaoTronics 120w Dimmable Led Aquarium Lights Aquarium Hoods Led Reef Light for Coral Fish Seaweed T
I bought 2 of these LED lights to replace 504 watts of 48" VHO Florescent lighting for 75 gallon tank (48"x18"x 20")with very good results so far. The 48" VHO's were mounted under canopy lid and I completely removed them and cut 2 evenly spaced rectangular holes (15.75" x 8.50") in the canopy lid. Inside the lid I mounted 2 pieces of .25" acrylic to cover under the holes for the lights to set on. I set the LED lights on top outside the canopy so they would shine through the acrylic and does not get moisture like the VHO's did. Mounting the fixtures in the dry on the outside on top of canopy will greatly increase the lifespan of the fixtures. I used separate timers for the white & blue dimmable lights for a sunrise effect. After acclimating the corals to the new LED lighting with the dimmers, I found that in my aquarium I could not run the LED's @100% it was too bright for my corals (slight bleaching effect) so I dimmed to 50% with great results. With the White @50% & Blue @50% , both fixtures together consuming 110 watts @50% compared to 504 watts VHO previously. The heat factor was also greatly reduced! My corals (all Softies) are all doing great after 3 months of these lights running @50% capacity. The 3 fans on each fixture are very quiet and keep the fixture cool. These LED's are very bright and evenly distribute light throughout the whole aquarium mounted 7" above water surface. The Shimmer effect is fantastic! After a lot of research of LED fixtures, I would certainly recommend these affordable LED lights to any Aquarium enthusiast looking for alternative lighting.
My set up is a 225 system this is a deeper tank than the normal yet the lights shine to the deepest part of the tank I have a 1/3 CHILLER and a 40 gallon sump that houses 2 filter socks, a protein skimmer and a UV sterilizer. My tank has never looked better and the fans 3 per unit are super quiet and do a great job of venting the warmer air out of the hood area.
I actually received then in early November but had them installed only last week. They replaced 2 400 watt MH bulbs as well as a bulky and hot ballast. The install used 4 brackets for each until hung from the inside of my canopy running on timers the whites on from 12:30 PM until 6 the blues from 10 AM until 6 supplementing the 2 LED units are 4 T5 25 Watt Actinic on from 9 AM to 10 PM.
I made the decision to replace the MH with LED for a number of reasons and the main reason being electricity costs and bulb replacement cost every 12 months. I needed to buy new MH bulbs but before I decided to spend the $200 I made the wise decision to go with LED. I did my research and ended up with the TAO TRONICS units for cost, quality, features and ease of ordering.
They ARE FANTASTIC the water shimmers my corals never looked better and I can't wait to see the enery saving next month as I estimate a savings of $30 $40 per month on my electric bill. I already notice my chiller going on less and the stable temperature is at least 1.5 degrees lower with the new LED lights.
I highly recommend the TAO TRONICS units you can't go wrong and the price will gradually drop and more features will be added but I'm glad to have jumped on the LED bandwagon!!!I purchsed this product due to the Price. I did have an issue when I received the 2 sets of lights. On one of my lights the White LEDS did not work at all. After receiving instructions from the customer service center on on what to do to try and fix the issue and after taking the cover off I figured out that the one of wires was not making contact. I resoddered the wire and that fixed the lights, since then i have had no issues. I am very pleased with the lights. they really do make my corals in my aquarium stand out and the fans are super quiet.I have to say I'm very impressed with the light. I got it hung this morning. The included hanging kit comes with 4 cables and a quick disconnect. It was easy to hang "had to make a hardware store trip for some extra cable to hang for the ceiling" I'm running the light at 40% blue and 20% white till my coral gets used to the extra light. Even at the low setting it appears much brighter than my old nova extreme 4 bulb t5 setup. At a full 100% blue/white the light is crazy bright.
All my coral pop with color. My Sps have great polyp extension. I'm very excited to see what kind of growth I get. All of my zoanthids look great. Only coral that does not seem to like all the extra light is my yuma, but that is dead center under the light at this time and will soon be moved to one of the outer walls of the tank.
One light does seem to cover my 40 gal breeder well. I've hung the light 8" above the water level and it appears to cover the entire tank. I'll be really excited once I can have the par levels tested on the tank.
Also I all ready plan on buying a 2nd light for a frag tank.

Tetra Half Moon Aquarium Kit, 10-Gallon
I used to own a number of tanks and my dad bred fish when we were growing up, so we had as many as 30 tanks in our house at once. I finally convinced my wife to get a tank for our children, which we wanted to fit on their tall dresser in their bedroom. The regular rectangular shaped 10 gallon was a little too big, so we went with the half moon. We have had this one up for just over a week now.Pros:
Small foot print so it fit onto a narrow/ tall dresser
Super quiet filter, perfect for the kids bedroom.
I like that it is taller than a normal 10 gallon so the plants can grow taller.
The filter seems to pump plenty of water for the tank. You can really see the water movement and if the fish don't eat quickly, some of the food will get sucked into the filter within just a few minutes. The water has been crystal clear.
Cons:
I don't like that they taped things to the inside of the tank when they shipped it. You don't want to use soap or goo gone inside a tank so that you don't kill the fish and it was a bear to clean off the glue with a paper towel.
Because the tank is narrow and tall, you have less surface area, so it technically will hold less fish than a regular 10 gallon tank
The half moon distorts the fish at certain angles and you have to move around to see the corners
Did not come with net or glass scraper
We are happy with the tank and based on our requirements, it fit our needs. The kids love the tank and we have 6 fish in it so far, 3 midnight tetras, 1 glofish and 2 molly's. We plan to add a cat and possibly a siamese fighter, but the number of fish will definitely be maxed at that point.

We bought this tank today and after setting it up, we absolutely love it. I wanted an elegant/stylish tank, and that is exactly what I got.Things that I love about the tank:
1. Shape the half moon shape is great for viewing your fish, plus, it is a nice change from traditional rectangular fish tanks
2. The filter is very quiet
3. The filter replacements are not very expensive (I looked them up after purchasing the tank)
4. The LED light is bright and does not require much energy
5. The heater can be placed almost anywhere in the tank, allowing you to hide it behind plants or water features.
Things to note:
1. While I love the light, the tank that is the next size up comes with a day/night LED light feature which allows you to use one light for both day and night, instead of purchasing a separate night-time light if you want to view your tank during off hours without stressing your fish out.
2. The filter does not have a lid, so it is a little unfinished looking if you are standing directly over the tank
3. I wish the instructions would have been a little more visual and less technical. We wanted to get the tank set up quickly, and had to stop for each item and read the long instruction sheets.
While we've only had the tank and set up for one day, we absolutely love it. It is a stunning feature in our home.

For a total of about six weeks, this was an attractive and enjoyable aquarium.I bought this kit looking for a decorative aquarium to hold about five fresh water fancy goldfish. The tall tank with its clear lid has a lot of eye appeal: the fish and contents are much more visible than in more conventional tanks with a dark rim or a hood obstructing the upper portion. For a ten gallon tank, it has a lot of viewing area.
While the filter is nothing fancy, it does the job well provided that the tank is kept properly filled and the filter's waterfall edge is positioned not too far above the waterline. Positioned like this the system is admirably quiet, but if either the fill level is off or the filter is improperly positioned, you will experience splashing and quicker evaporation losses. It is not a bubbler-type system, so if you need to have a lot of air injected into the water you'll want a different pump/filter.
I was happy with my aquarium for aboout five days when I noticed it was leaking at the bottom left corner. I returned it and received an immediate replacement. This worked fine until, about five weeks later, I awoke to a significantly lower water level in the tank, and a correspondingly upsetting puddle on my stand and floor. I was willing to accept the first failure as a fluke, but after the second tank's failure I gave up on this item and bought another manufacturer's product.
After dissassembling the failed tank I noticed that the silicone sealant between the front curved glass, the flat glass backplate, and the plastic base appeared to have been sloppily applied in several places, including at least one place where the leaks occurred. There were a couple of other spots where upon close inspection I could see voids or finger grooves. Maybe my two tanks were made on the same day by the same inexperienced or careless assembler, and/or checked by the same indifferent inspector. Whatever the cause, poor quality control is what soured me on this product. If you really like this tank's looks in spite of its problems, I recommend you consider applying extra sealant to the seams along the inside of the base and hopefully avoid the issues I experienced.

Something with the curve of the glass and sudden light changes drives fish to jump out! I've had this tank for a year and a half and have lost close to 20 fish. I had 1 type in there and after 5-6 jumped, I decided to move it and stock it with different fish. Same results, very upsetting to find your favorite fish dried up behind the tank/stand. Platies, Guppies, Cories, ...doesn't seem to matter, they all jump. Stay away from this tank or completely cover with saran wrap or plexiglass cut to perfect size. This will keep your fish alive, but I don't think they will be very happy.Save 5% Off

I wouldnt say that these are needed for vertical growing but if you dont already have a lamp socket then this is worth it. It is very sturdy compared to the "converted" socket that i took from my hood after switching from horizontal air cooled hoods. I plan on buying another one. nice long cord too.

Mr. Aqua Hardwood Stand for 12-Inch Cube Aquarium
I bought this set up from craigslist because Amazon did not have this set up at the time.... It was never used and I am very impressesed with the stand and the aquarium if you get it from Mr. Aqua, I have different sized tanks from 125, 72 bow, 36 bow, two tens, and this little master piece. I have had it for a year and havent began the process of hooking it all up yet due to how much money I am wanting to use setting it up... Lilly pipes are a must and basically only work for an eheim, ADA soil, the perfect hardscape to do a Japanese traditional layout with nothing but HC; baby tears. All that is easy to figure out but I have always had a problem finding the perfect lighting for it with how high to put it to get the right PAR and then the light being a clean and crisp to not take away from the tank. Tetra AquaSafe PLUS
7 drops in an average little fish bowl with normal water and I have had a Beta for over two years now using nothing but this! Every couple of weeks, I rinse the bowl, replace water, put the drops in, done deal. Good stuff. Keeps your fish healthy. The end.
Here's the thing, these water conditioners that have "slime coat" crap in them, the way they work is by BURNING the fish, the irritation induces them to produce their slime coat. I wasn't aware of this, but when I was using it, I noticed that some of my fish would always flash swim rapidly up and down the glass I didn't know if it was them being "excited" to have a water change, no, they were just in pain/stressed.
Anyway, after coming to the end of my bottle in like 1 month's time, I ordered Seachem Safe (powder version of Prime). My fish no longer flash, and it works better, way more cost efficient. Save your money, buy Safe or Prime, both are way better.Previous reviews were helpful. I use it everytime I change the water. The water stays clean for about two weeks easily. It says aquarium for fish but I have been using it for my turtle aquarium and it has worked out fine. The filmy residue does appear but just make sure not to use in excess and it should not be an issue. Also, if you are using this for turtles, frequent baths also help to remove the film from the shell.

Whenever you add new tap water to your aquarium the chemistry of the water changes, these changes can be very harmful to the fish depending on how drastic they are. So it's recommended you do a 10-20% water change every week to your aquarium to help reduce chemicals like ammonia and dilute the nitrites etc. But the tap water also carries harmful chlorine and chloramine.Tetra AquaSafe removes both and enhances the stress coat produced by your fish, thus making it perfect to condition your aquarium. I've had no problems whatsoever with it, and it has greatly improved the overall health of my fish.
I personally don't use it with every water change (although its recommended that you do) but that's usually based on the amt being added and the condition of my tap water.
