Works perfectly in my fluval edge. I found out that I really didn't need to replace the bulb however because the protective covering where the bulb plugs in had fallen off so when I pluged the bulb in I plugged it into the wrong place and that was what caused it not to work. So now I have extra for later but they work great.Want Fluval EDGE Shielded Halogen Replacement Bulb, 10 Watts - 2-pack Discount?

everything i've looked up about Betta fish care is quite conflicting. my pet store i favor doesn't carry any books on them, and offers bowls/tanks that are smaller than this wall mount option. however i'm not a fan of thinking i'm constricting or torturing my poor fish so i tell myself that if he's never known anything other than the small plastic container he was in when i picked him off the shelf then he should be ecstatic about his wall mount. and i'm certainly no fish expert but he seems happy enough -we've had this tank for 3 weeks and when i come close he's interactive and seems to swim to meet me and will follow my finger, etc. i watch him check out, er, fight his reflection every day when the lighting is just right to create a mirror effect on the wall. i see him chilling and flitting in/out of his pretty silk plant. he's no mope.my tank did not come w/ a nail, nor any rocks or plants. i used a 50-lb drywall anchor screw and head of the screw is small enough that i'm able to remove the tank as needed. i clean the tank every sunday. i'm waiting for the price to drop so i can pick up a few more -one for another fish and extras to make the cleaning more streamlined.
i have no complaints about the plastic itself, seems thick and sturdy enough, not flimsy or brittle.
i love this option as i don't have any sort of counter or shelf space for a tank and it keeps the cat's paws and tiny child hands out of it as well.
anyway i give it 4 stars b/c i didn't get any goodies like others claim. and also b/c there clearly needs to be a 2+ gallon option to stop all the controversy. (if i can mount a 70 pound tv on my wall i think we can figure out how to do a slightly bigger fish bowl.)

I bought this for my 4 year old daughter last week thinking it would be easy for her to take care of. I quickly realized the Betta was not active and felt there wasn't enough space to swim around. I kept him in there for one week and today purchased a 3 gallon tank with filter for the same price. I cannot believe the difference in the Betta! He is very active and is very happy now! It is even more fun for my daughter because you can put other aquarium decorations which he loves to swim in and out of! This bowl is not capable of maintaing a proper ecosystem for any fish. A 3 gallon tank is just as aesthetically pleasing and takes little room.Want Wall Mount Fish Bowl Aquarium Tank Beta Goldfish Discount?
If you don't care about living animals and view fish as decoration, then you will probably have no issues with this product. If you do care about animals and their wellbeing, you will soon realize that this home is not ideal for any fish.
There are essentially only two types of fish that can technically survive this tank: the betta and the goldfish. Any other breed of fish will not be able to live in these conditions due to the lack of a filter and lack of air bubbles.
Goldfish: May survive in this tank for a few months, most goldfish are over 10 inches in length once they become adults. These fish are often bought when they are 1 inch in size. A small goldfish would be 6 inches, which is still far too big for this tank. Goldfish can live for many years. Most fish can, yet many fish die prematurely in our care. I would not recommend buying a goldfish for this tank. It might be okay if you're using this tank to house feeder goldfish for a different pet... but a goldfish will not last long in this small tank.
Betta: These beauties have a lot of personality if you take the time to pay attention. Some are shy, others are curious, and most are responsive to their owner/feeder. Some bettas learn to communicate to let you know that they are hungry. This may be by tapping on the glass to get your attention or by swimming along the glass whenever you pass by. A single betta thrives in 5 or more gallons. You will find that when a betta has the space to grow healthy, it will be more vibrant in color, have flowing fails free of tangles, and will have a bright spirit. Bettas can live longer than 6 years with proper care. A betta that is stuck living in a one gallon tank (or smaller) will likely be prone to disease due to stress. It is unlikely that it will live out its full lifespan.
Here are a few tips to keep your fish healthy in case you decide to have this tank:
Important Tip #1: Water Changes
A healthy betta can survive a couple or more years in a one gallon tank. Note the word "survive." Do not fool yourself into thinking you are providing your fish an ideal home. You owe it to your fish to keep the tank clean. I recommend changing the water once every week. You will have to do at least a 25% water change. I am not a fan of 100% water changes but you could do it if you feel it's appropriate. You can use a pipette/turkey baster to clean the waste and decomposing food from the gravel. You can use this to do spot cleanings as well. Try to keep the water within 3 degrees of the current water temperature. Failing to do so can cause shock to your fish, which can kill it. A healthy strong fish might be able to withstand a greater range (i.e. 5 degrees difference from the current water temperatures). Most fish will not be able to handle much more than that.
Important Tip #2: Water Conditioners
When changing the water, don't forget to add a water conditioner to the tap/filter/bottle water before exposing the water to your fish. Some people dump the water into the tank and then add the water conditioner afterward. This adds a lot of stress on the fish and could kill any fish. It might not kill your fish the first time you change the water this way, but it might the next time. For this reason, it is best to treat the water first before adding it to your tank. Water conditioners removes chlorine and neutralizes chloramines. Some brands even remove ammonia (which is created from the waste your fish produce). Most work instantly. I don't have any recommendations. They're easy to find.
Important Tip #3: Beneficial Bacteria
This is a very important tip! I strongly recommend buying a biological supplement to keep beneficial bacteria in the tank. This will help promote a livable environment and will help keep your fish healthy. This is crucial since you will not have a filter (which harbors and spreads good bacteria after the tank is properly cycled). I recommend Nutrafin Cycle Biological Filter Supplement. It's easy to find and it works pretty well as long as you shake the bottle before every use. There are other brands, of course; but Nutrafin is the only one I ever tried so you'll have to do your own research if you want to use a different brand. This beneficial bacteria should be added with every water change. Plan to use this weekly. 1ml should suffice per water change.
Important Tip #4: Decor, Plants & Substrate
The gravel or sand you use in the tank will help house the beneficial bacteria. You don't want to add too much since the fish won't have any space to move. I recommend adding one real plant to help add oxygen to the tank. You will likely have to trim the plant so it doesn't overtake the tank. If you feel this is too much work, then add one fake plant. I wouldn't advise adding more than a total of two plants. I do recommend that the plants have big leaves so that your fish will have somewhere to rest. I would avoid adding any decors like fake tunnels or castles. If you have to choose between a decor or plant, then I would advise picking the plant. If you are set on the decor then forget about the plant. there simply isn't enough room to have both.
Important Tip #5: Betta Food
Since bettas are the only fish who could tolerate such a small space, you will want to keep the fish healthy. It is important to buy healthy food for the fish that is full of nutrients. Here are a few recommendations:
1. Seachem Betta Banquet
2. Xtreme Aquatic Foods Betta PeeWee Fish Food
3. New Life Spectrum Betta Formula
The last one listed is easiest to find.
Remember that an ideal home for one betta is 5+ gallons (2.5 gallons should be the minimum). An ideal home for one goldfish is 10+ gallons.
Overall: Yes, this is a beautiful tank that might add a nice element to any home. If you are intent on buying this, only do so if you are willing to keep the tank clean and willing to add in a beneficial bacteria supplement with every water change. You don't want a dirty tank anyway. Otherwise, what is the point in having this tank if guests will be disgusted by it? And you wouldn't want your fish to be unhealthy because, once again, it will not be impressive to you or your guests. It is in your best interest, as well as your fish, to keep the tank clean and the fish as healthy as possible.
(Edit: Bettas thrive in warmer climates around 80 degrees F. Goldfish do better in temperatures around 70 degrees F. Bettas will get sick and die if temperatures drop below 70 degrees. Take this into consideration when choosing which room to have this tank. It would be best to choose a room that doesn't get too hot or too cold. It is also best to keep the tank away from a window. Having it near or across a window will cause the water temperatures to rise and drop too sporadically. This could cause the water to overheat, which could essentially cook the fish and kill it. Cold drafts can cause the water to become too cold, making the fish get sick and die. Frequent changes in the water temperature can cause shock, which can cause your fish to die. Your fish might die from shock several days later, or instantly. If this is all too overwhelming then you might consider using this tank to house a snail or ghost shrimp instead of a fish.)

I never saw whether this bulb worked. The first one arrived shattered. Cross-ship return. The second one arrived shattered. Cross-ship return. The third one didn't have any glass obviously broken, but the packaging was the same and the bulb never flickered or lit. Returned. At the end of the day, Petco actually had better pricing for an equivalent bulb and shipped in MUCH BETTER packaging. So...try the bulb, but be ready to return it if you hear glass rattling when it arrives.

Finally a break from the sky-high prices of uv bulbs for our pond clarifier. This is the first time we have ordered online, and were thrilled to find it at a reasonable price. I don't know why retailers have to charge so much? But my beef with Amazon is how it came packaged... in a bubble wrap envelope. The bulb box was squished, but thankfully the bulb itself was not broken. CDs and books come in a hard cardboard shell. Wouldn't you think a fragile light bulb should be shipped this way too? Please change how you ship, Amazon!shipment is not as fast as promised 6 business days I waited. I just replaced my old unit with this bulb. it is easy to do and the unit works as designed.Fluval G3 Advanced Filtration System

There's no doubt this filter clearly stands alone as the best filter on the market. The three complaints I've read are cost, flow rate and the pre-filter clogging after days of operation. The first, we'll it's been several years now since release and the cost has come down considerably and it's now cheaper than an Eheim Pro 3e and IMHO a better filter when you compare the prefilter option of foam vs Fine polishing media. Flow rate, Hagen's responded to this and claims its superior when you actually consider loaded flow rate, not just what a motor can pump. With regards to the filter clogging, think about it. Muck that was in your tank is now in the filter where it should be. On the other now antiquated filters out there maintenance, if they actually were trapping it, would be a pain, on this filter it's a 2 minute swap with a new pre-filter or 5 minute clean and replace if you prefer. I have a 46G Bow front with 4 African jack Dempseys and do find I need to clean the pre-filter every two weeks to maintain 100% flow rate. The flow rate graph is really nice for letting you know when to do maintenance, there's also programmable schedules for each media to help track and each with optional alert.Easy maintenance is a key feature, but it's also allows you to quickly changes out your chemical filter to meet a specific condition. Algae starting to take foot, grab your phosphate filter and run it for a few days, nitrate to high grab the nitrate filter. Maintain them all with the triflex filter or use the optional replaceable media filter to use the media of your choice.
EC, time will tell but for now I'll take some indicator over the alternative of no indicator.
The lady that had a priming issue... make sure you prime before you plug it in..it makes ALL the difference as stated in the manual. Priming never been a problem for me, only takes two pumps. She either has a defective unit or didn't read the manual.
On the negative side I'm not thrilled with the suction cup intake and output tube fixtures. I have a film backing on my tank which precludes use of the rear suction cups and I don't want to cut it. I actually found reversing the clamp and putting the large plastic piece in the inside of the tank provides a more stable mount considering only one suction cup is used. I'd also prefer the output y-adapter to be a T-adapter if you planned to use the spray attachment. BTW, the filter comes with the nozzles attached to the y-dapter, you simply pull them off and push on the spray bars or you could have one nozzle and one spraybar if you like. You can get an inline alignment but it would work a bit better with a T then a Y. Both of these are really minor complaints, but they're the only negatives I have. I simply love this filter, it's made fish keeping a joy and a bit more fun as well.

-The G3 is an amazing filter. It is by far the easiest canister to maintain as the cartridges are removed and cleaned w/o even getting your hands wet w/ the brush.-Dead quiet, and I mean it. You will not even be able to hear it running unless you stick your ear to it.
-LCD screen provides useful information as temp & conductivity, plus reminds you when its time for maintenance.
-Lots of included bio-media (G-nodes)
-Flow is stronger than you think, don't go by just the GPH. I would recommend this filter up to a 55 gallon max. by itself.
-Separate cartridges are sold, such as the Nitrate cartridge which is supposed to help lower and maintain nitrate.
The only thing I will say is that the intake tube isn't that strong, so in terms of picking up waste, it isnt that great by itself. However, an easy solution would be to add a powerhead (I used the aquaclear 50), and it really helps push the waste on the floor into the intake.
Before I purchased the G3, I was comparing/researching numerous amounts of canister filters.
The main problem that seems to be pretty common with many canisters (including some fluval products) is leaking.
The G3 is near impossible to leak, and it is sealed tight.
Just add a powerhead and this will be one the best and high-tech filters you've had.I've been in the hobby for decades and have had many different types of filter, fresh and salt. Now I have settled on a 60 gallon discus aquarium. The prior filter was a fluval 304 and had to get a better canister the was easier and quicker to clean. Out of all the other options (eheim was a strong candidate) this was absolutely the best filter. The water is crystal clear, easy to clean and very, very quiet. I love the electronic monitoring of the water with running graphs that show history/ trends. This is better than any other filter on the market and I couldn't have made a better choice.

Overnight my pond was crystal clear. I have to do nothing to control the algaeyou can see to the bottom 4 ft down. This is a much better treatment for algae.I used Aquascape SAB Extreme String Algae Control for years, which worked, but after reading the reviews for Algaefix I decided to try it. I am so happy I did! It took two applications to get rid of it completely. It has been a month with out stringy stuff all over my pond. I noticed yesterday that it is starting to come back, so I will just use another application. It did not hurt my fish, or my water lilies either.

Algaefix is great stuff! I've had several ponds over the years and algaefix is the best product I've used. It's an all-purpose product which means I don't spend lots of dollars on many different chemicals.Just algaefix. I love the stuff! This is the worse product I have used in 5 years of cleaning my pond!! Twice I cleaned out my pond vaccumed, raked, got in and pulled out all the algea!!!! All to the specifications, and twice the algae grew back with in a few days was even worse the second time!!We've a had a water feature in our yard for five years and during that time we've tried absolutely everything and nothing worked. last year my husband turned the entire river and pond bright blue trying to use an algae shade product. So far this year, we have no living algae, it dies and drops to the bottom where the filter removes it. We're buying more!
