Deep Blue Rechargable Battery Air Pump

Deep Blue Rechargable Battery Air PumpThere is no indication of output, but I have several pumps, and this is by far the weakest. It might do in a pinch, but should not be your primary.

This product could very well be a 5 star. I have only used it once, when I went out of town for 5 days, and I was not disappointed. I have tested it a few times, and it has not failed to kick in. I have not left it on for a month continuously, and that will be the true test, but so far, I am very pleased.

I live in a hurricane zone, and this is the time to be prepared, and having this product is a must.

Coralife Biocube, Size 14

Coralife Biocube, Size 14I really like this tank. I've had many different tanks, ranging from a small 5g acrylic "bowfront" tank to a 210 gallon tank and everything in between. I've been in the aquarium hobby for the last 15 years and tried a little of everything.

The Coralife 14g Biocube is, simply put, amazing. It feels like good quality materials and does EVERYTHING it is advertised to do, which almost seems odd nowadays. Most products seem to claim they can reach the moon and never deliver.

I am running saltwater in the tank now and its great for it. There are plenty off additional parts you can purchase, such as a protein skimmer and different filtration, but I've never had the need. I've got multiple colonies of large corals, mainly LPS and also a 3" G. smithii mantis shrimp. All inverts are pretty sensitive to water problems and while I was initially concerned that in such a small tank I would have a hard time maintaining salinity easily, it has been a breeze. The tight fitting canopy stops all but the smallest amount of water from evaporating out. One really handy feature is a small window in the back and side of the tank allowing you to see your water depth and it lets you know when you need to top off or not.

For anyone who has ran a tank with a sump before, that's how this tank operates. The main display water volume never varies, only in the back where the return pump is do you see any water level change. What's great about this is you wont ever have that stupid looking line at the very top of your tank where you can see air again because too much water evaporated. That seems like a minor thing but it's a small thing that makes your tank look bad. Now you'll never deal with that again.

My only complaint is the heat. Two compact fluorescent bulbs put out quite a bit of heat. My office where I have the tank is a steady 72 to 73 degrees during the day and the tank itself runs up to a max of 83 degrees at the end of the light cycle. I have the lights come on at 7:30AM and turn off at 4:30pm, so 9 hours of continual light, and the tank goes from 78.5 degrees to 83 degrees, so a four and a half degree difference every day. I can actually tell my corals dont like the high end of it, by the end of the day some are starting to look a little wilted and unhappy. I tried turning off one light and it helps, the tank was only heating to about 81 degrees during the day, but that isnt acceptable because I need high light to keep my corals up and running. So yeah... I'm going to end up replacing my lamps with LEDs, which is too bad, because basically that is going to cost me about $150 to $200, so it makes my "cheap" tank almost double in price.

Long story short, if you want to have fish and plants or corals in your tank, make sure they can survive 80+ temperatures, or else put the tank in a room with ambient temperatures of under 70 degrees.

One last thing to mention, this tank does NOT come with a heater. I thought it did from reading a couple other reviews but it most definitely does not. So if you do want a hot tank or you are running in a low ambient temperature room, pick up a small heater. Any 50w heater should fit fine in the back.

I've had this tank for over a month and the quality is amazing. After the 3 week acclimation, I now have a live rock, 2 clown fish a damsel and an anemone all doing great. I would recommend this tank to any beginners to salt water, as I am one.

This tank is the shiz-nit And oceanic is a great company that stands behind their product. My 1st biocube started to leak after about 10 months from a power head blowing on the upper silicon seal. I called Oceanic and they were very helpful in replacing my tank. I have had many aquariums and the biocube is by far my favorite. The only real issue I had was all my live stock out grew the tank quickly. I was shocked at how well lps and sps corals did in the tank. The Biocube is a solid very easy to maintain marine aquarium and I highly recommend it . I would like to see an LED lighting system to eliminate the heat from the pc lights in the next generation cube.

Even after Fed-Ex launched the package over my entrance gate, the product was packed so well it survived. I love my new aquarium. for the first time in all the years of salt water I finally have managed to keep a Yellow Tang alive.

Jardin Fish Tank 4 Layer Sponge Biochemical Water Corner Filter

Jardin Fish Tank 4 Layer Sponge Biochemical Water Corner FilterHave had this running for about two months while hooked to a Tetra Whisper pump for 10gals (also from Amazon excellent pump). Originally, had it in my 20 gallon as a supplemental filter and to keep ammonia/nitrite levels stabilized while I was switching between an HOB filter to a canister filter. Although the pump used for it was not rated for a 20gal I'd like to think it did its job. The shape allows me to tuck it in the back corner behind a plant and it is not visible from the front. There was always debris, fish food, and poop attached to it meaning that it was at least sucking up waste.

About two weeks ago I transferred it a poorly maintained and neglected 5 gallon tank with crabs. After changing the tank the water was still cloudy with algae chunks, exoskeletons, and that white film that comes from stagnant water. Well all the debris eventually got stuck on the surface of the sponge and throughout the day you can see the debris get smaller and smaller as it was broken down by the bacteria I guess. By the next day the water and the sponge was clean as a whistle. It is currently still in my 5 gallon with 2 crabs and about a dozen adolescent guppies and all ammonia/nitrite levels are absolutely fine.

In conclusion this is a good filter overall and an excellent filter for small tanks. I will consider buying more of these for any future small tanks. Also in retrospect there is a 6-layer version that is marginally more expensive but would be better suited for larger tanks with more surface area for bacteria to grow on.

So the description is misleading, though technically perhaps correct. When there is no air flowing through the sponge, it does indeed sink, as advertised. However when you are actually using the sponge the air flow and bubbles is enough to make it float. I tried taping the tube to the side wall or something with no luck, it reallllly wants to float, so I ended up putting it under one of my other decorations to keep it down. I'll likely tie it to a rock or something when the snow thaws and I can go outside and find one.

Aside from that it seems quality, though I can't speak to the longevity as I've only had a few days. For me it's not worth the hassle of returning it to get a different one, but when it needs to be replaced I'll likely not buy the same one.

EDIT!!!!!!!!! About a month in, after the bacteria and gunk had time to colonize on it, it weighed down and tank on it's own, so I upgraded the stars to 4.

Perfecto Manufacturing APF34305 Glass Canopy Aquarium, 36 by 18-Inch

Perfecto Manufacturing APF34305 Glass Canopy Aquarium, 36 by 18-InchMy husband asked me to write this review because he was relieved when we got it.

This glass canopy lid for the aquarium is ONE PIECE. It is hinged in the middle. This means, you don't have to worry about lifting the side to feed the fish and having the whole thing come up. It also opens to the front (as most aquarium lids should) instead of the middle (yes, I've seen this). It is heavy enough that there is no movement when you open the lid to drop food in or whatever you need to do inside the tank.

We topped it with Aqueon Coralife 05619 Aqualight T5 Freshwater Dual Lamp Fixture, 36-Inch which fits perfectly with this lid. We have absolutely no complaints about this lid. It is a good, solid lid that looks great on top, had a good plastic, raised handle. We highly recommend it!

Might be an okay cover, but I wouldn't know since it arrived with pieces of glass falling out of the box. Not sure whose idea it was to ship a glass aquarium cover in a box without a "fragile" or "glass" label and with only a single piece of crinkled paper for padding, but this product is no good unless it arrives in one piece.

Python No Spill Clean and Fill Aquarium Maintenance System, 75-Feet

Python No Spill Clean and Fill Aquarium Maintenance System, 75-FeetThis is an excellent product. If you are tired of lugging buckets of water back and forth while cleaning your aquarium, and making huge messes, walking in puddles, etc..and taking hours to clean even relatively small tanks, this product is for you. Don't waste your money on cheap suction devices, and buy the python today! (sorry if I sound like an infomercial, I'm just an enthusiastic user). The python attaches to your faucet, you turn the water on full blast, stick the suction tube end into your tank, and you can drain your tank in minutes, or just vacuum your gravel and do partial water changes. Then, you flick a switch and you can fill your tank back up (again, in minutes). I have 2 29 nine gallons and a 10 gallon, as well as a 15 gallon turtle tank, and what used to take me a whole day, now takes about an hour (to do all tanks). I like that I can vacuum the gravel, boy does this thing suck the waste up. This will also prolong the use of your filters and make your tank look great! I was skeptical that this product would work, but am so glad that I bought it. Now I actually enjoy maintaing my tanks instead of dreading it.

The directions are easy to follow~ even for people like me, who are "direction impaired."

I have a python for at least 25 years and would never part with it. I bought this one for my priest who is setting up a 55 gallon in his office. He has two smaller tanks and using buckets doesn't bother him. I suggested he try this because using buckets for water changes in anything bigger that a 20 gallon was no fun and would get to be a chore, putting off doing much needed gravel cleaning and water changing.

This thing is so easy to use and makes cleaning your grave and changing water a breeze. I enjoy my fish so much more because I don't have the water mess and sore back from carrying buckets. Water changes are so easy and quick that you will be apt to do them on a regular schedule.

Your fish will thank you. Clean water and gravel means less disease. This is a must have tool for anyone serious about keeping your fish healthy.

Great sellers, got freebies. The item was a described. The Python worked beautifully no leaks fast and easy. however I could not figure out how to hook it up to my inside sink and to run it to outdoors water hose bib and worked like a charm. So that is the reason for only 4 stars

Glofish Plastic Plants Large Starfire Red, Ambulia

Glofish Plastic Plants Large Starfire Red, AmbuliaShipped quickly, high enough quality, looks great under regular lighting...but unfortunately does not glow under the glofish aquarium's lighting as expected. All of the blue and green plants we purchased showed up, but this one is better used under fluorescent lighting.

I placed it in my Fish tank that has a black light, it glows but no like I'd expected. But still a good product

Tanganyika Rock 3D Aquarium Background 60 x 24 Grey

Tanganyika Rock 3D Aquarium Background 60 x 24 GreyI waited for this product it was late getting to my house. When I got it the two corners was broken.I could deal with that because I had to cut to make it fit in my Aquarium anyways. But the worst part there was no instructions and when you held it up to the light you can see that the whole middle of the 3D picture had a big crack running down the middle of it.Now I have to wait for the reply from the company to see if they will exchange it or just take it back.I would of kept it it looked real except for the damage.I was hoping to have my Aquarium set up before my fish got here.It looks like it will be to late.

TOM Aquarium Aqua Lifter Pump 3.5gph flow rate to 30 inches height

TOM Aquarium Aqua Lifter Pump 3.5gph flow rate to 30 inches heightThe little red connector to the hose breaks as soon as you try to unplug the hose. For others, cut the hose as the bas along the red connector with a cutter and then remove the hose, doing that you won't apply force on those red connections and won't break them. i went through one pump before I figured that out :((

Great Top Off Pump. With a float switch one can use this pump to auto top-off a tank. This has many uses!

This pump is great for my purpose, which is to top off an aquarium as water evaporates. Very quiet. My only problem with it is that the tubing was so tight on the first one I bought that when I tried pulling it off the intake and output ports the red plastic broke off with it. I replaced it with an identical one since I figured it was probably more my fault than the unit's.

I bought this pump to use with a siphon powered overflow on a 55 gallon aquarium. This pump works perfectly for keeping the air bubbles from building up inside the overflow. I would suggest this pump for anyone needing it for a overflow.

Exotic Environments Roman Vase Aquarium Ornament

Exotic Environments Roman Vase Aquarium OrnamentI was taken with the idea of replacing my beaten up old fish tank habitat with a neat "antiquities" style upgrade. After measuring my tank and my old ornament, I decided on this one I'm so glad I did! I have the five gallon Aqueon lighted set-up, and this vase fits PERFECTLY across the bottom. It's tall enough to look balanced and the holes are the perfect size for him to "perch" in and swim through! I didn't have it in there for 5 minutes before the little guy was zipping through the holes with great enthusiasm.

I read a couple of the other vase reviews about vase type ornaments and wanted to leave feedback for this one.

1. It didn't have sharp edges. I felt all along the entire inside and unless a very large fish (well, about 3x the size of my betta) decided to go in it, it's plenty roomy and not pokey.

2. It was very well packed! Lots of padding, no breakage.

3. The colors look beautiful and vibrant very terra cotta.

I'm perfectly happy with this piece and would buy it again.

When I first saw this vase when taking it out of the package, the coloring seemed quite dull. Once in the water, however, the colors really came out.

The size is perfect for my 5 gallon tank, but it would also make a great addition to larger aquariums.

I am very happy with this product and would recommend it to anyone who wants to add a beautiful, exotic decoration to their aquarium.

Large Aquarium Betta Keeper

Large Aquarium Betta KeeperA bowl or small aquarium of at least 1 gallon is more appropriate and allows for more activity.

I found this to be a great hospital tank! there will be medication adjustments due to the size and may be a bit of a guessing game at times. but this makes the daily water changes that are required of a medicating bowl easy.

Seriously though, way too small for any fish or living thing (in my opinion)

placing two male betta's in this where they can always see each other in such a confined space will lead to constant flaring and they will always be stressed. they will hit the walls and injure themselves. what a stupid idea.

Buy Large Aquarium Betta Keeper Now

I wrote a similar review and decided to just copy and paste my original story to save time...

Being the novice I was, when I was about 12 I "rescued" 2 bettas from a Pets Mart and put them both into separate, cheap, tiny little novelty tanks, and that's how they lived for about a year and a half until I bought my third one and put him into a 5 gallon tank. I instantly noticed the difference!

My 3rd Betta was flying all over the place, he was noticeably happier, responded faster (in a non-aggressive way) when I'd come near the tank, and he lived for a little more than 3 and a half years! My other two barely made it to 2 years. They were depressed, uninterested, slow to respond...everything you don't want your Betta to be. And once I moved them into larger 3 gallon tanks each, they perked up like none other!

Betta's need to be in 3-10 gallon tanks by themselves (5 or larger and you might be able to add compatible fish, though I wasn't willing to risk it). In the wild, they live in rice paddies which are thousands of gallons of swimming space and naturally aerated and filtered, and only live in "small puddles" for about 2 or 3 months (at most) out of the year during the dry season.

What's more, while Wild bettas may be able to take smaller conditions longer and survive better, the fancy bettas we see in the stores today are not nearly as durable or hardy and need more stimulation and space.

This "tank" has no filtration, has little space for the Betta, and isn't much better than the initial cup they come in.

Too small for a temporary home. Not bad I guess if you wanted to put one in there while your changing your REAL tank. You can get a 5 gal for cheaper at some places. Please be kind!

Want Large Aquarium Betta Keeper Discount?

I originally bought this tank for my two CT males, Nico and Zazu, but it quickly became a pain. They could both see each other all the time and were always stressing each other out. Before I had funds available for a new tank for them it came down to "modifying" (essentially cutting up) the black plastic from a CD case to insert into one of the partitions to keep them from seeing each other.

After I moved them to a different tank with a solid partition, I purchased a female CT who just loves it. She's small enough that she has plenty of room to swim around. I also have some tall grass in the tank which was made to fit by simply looping it throughout the tank and it's become a great little habitat for her.

The tank is incredibly easy to clean and I don't have to worry about the lid falling off without warning.

Recommended for 1 fish without the partition, but not for two.

ALSO! Make sure to remove the fake plants. They will easily shear any fish' fins.
