These lights seemed to be really high quality, they came in nice packaging and worked great.

I accidentally ordered the wrong light color though, (wanted daylight and must have clicked actinic) so i sent them back.

Even with them being pure actinic they were pretty bright.

only down side, the legs do not extend out from the end of the light unit at all, so a 30" light will only fit a 24" tank, or smaller. (was hoping to place them in a 30" opening)

I got the Giant sized Turtle Hut for my two red eared slider turtles that are about 4.5 inches across they fit in it with plenty of room to spare they play hide and seek in it and sleep in it they crawl on top of it a lot, so I'm going to modify the top of it into a basking area using a UVB bulb and heat lamp I liked it so much I got another one for their pond . . .

Ended up being smaller than I was expecting and I was afraid my turtle was going to get stuck in it and he's tiny... Now it's in a 10 gallon tank with my frogs and they seem to like it! The other problem is that the first time I took it out to clean off some algae, almost all of the brown paint came off. I didn't use anything to wash it, just warm water and a paper towel. Now the whole thing is a hideous yellow color. I don't mind so much, but if you're going for a realistic look in your tank, this is not for you!

I bought this in a store, did not realize I could have gotten it online (for cheaper) but after less than a month in my turtle tanks (I bought 2 as I have 2 tanks) it started falling apart! I am so frustrated because I made sure the words can be SUBMERGED were on the product, and it was so I invested in it. BIG mistake!! It may be fine for on land but DON"T buy this product if you plan to submerge it!!

I could not find something this size for the life of me because I kept searching for XX-large and never though of Giant. This is a great hide for sulcata tortoises just before they get big enough to go outside. Easy to clean and sturdy.

I bought this for my turtles to have somewhere to hide, and i couldn't find anything that would sink and not get the tank dirty. This did well for a couple months but i started to notice small pieces falling off. I thought the turtles where tring to eat it, but it turns out that if it is in the water for a couple months the plastic becomes very soft and starts to crumble. I had to remove it because i was worried about the turtles eating it. I imagine this would be no problem for dry habitats.

It is a sturdy wall decoration that looks great underwater. I like the colors and the swim holes. I am using as the main piece in a five gallon hex though it could certainly be used in any size larger tank as well. It is the exact size for the effect that I was looking for. Will add picture as well.

It's large and nice looking, but way to sharp for a Betta fish. I didn't return it because it will be fine with any other fish, but the Betta's tail would rip on these edges.

I purchased this for my snakes terrarium. Its really cool and unique, and came on time. The only thing i didnt like about it was the hollow bottom, where my snake could climb up inside and become stuck. I still give it 5 stars because it is intended for underwater usage, not snake jungle gyms. My betta will love it :)

Fits nice as the sole decor piece in a 3 gallon bowfront.

The guppies, neons & cory cat can swim through the openings easily. Colors look great, is exactly what I was looking for.

Would recommend for a large focus piece in a 10/20 gallon tank as well. Excellent value. This is a Hollow piece, so you want to make sure no fish are under the base portion when you place in tank or fish could become trapped.(only during placement could that happen)

I add it to my filter just in case as a precautionary measure with the rest of my media I like that it comes pre bagged, And that it's affordable. I'm not really sure if it's doing anything but it's not hurting my fish.

Overall this fish tank is great. It fits perfectly on my desktop. The only issue I have is that the LED light that it comes with cannot be hooked up to a timer. The hood/light are so custom that I had to order a submersible light to get around this issue.

This is the "budget brother" of the original......The original Ocean Treasures aquariums have a center tube to funnel all the wires. The original also comes with a "REEF" to completely hide the wires. The original is also close to $400!!

The photo can be a bit deceiving as this unit DOES NOT INCLUDE A REEF. If you want the reef, you can get it for around $30 at petsmart.

HOWEVER, for the money, we are very happy with this unit. The LED light stick is very nice; and the small filtration unit is sufficient for an aquarium this size. Set up is easy. Just be aware you will need a heater; and, because of it's heigth, a bubbler is a must.

*edit since i wrote this review originally, the product listing has been updated with a correct picture and a more thorough description of the product. i am leaving most of my original review intact, but have deleted the parts of it that are no longer relevant based upon the updates to the listing.*

i bought this tank kit from a local petsmart store in february 2012 for $200. got it home, unpacked it and set it up with really no problems at all.

all the hood, filter, and trim parts are plastic. the filter is the bio-wheel penguin 350, which holds a double filter and biowheel setup with adjustable intake. the filter is generally quieter than average for kit systems, and i am very pleased with it.

the led lighting comes from two led panels, one on either side of the split-hood. they are removable and come with detachable power cords. they are surprisingly bright, and provide a nice shimmer effect into the tank. however, they do not provide suitable light energy for a planted tank so don't expect to get good plant growth. there is also a night-light setting of a half-dozen blue led's per panel. the lights do not have a timer option, but instead a 3-way manual switch (white, off, blue) on each panel.

the tank also comes with a generic 200-watt heater and temperature sticker. the heater is not marked in degrees, but that's what the thermometer is for :) they seem to work ok, but i replaced the sticker thermometer with a more accurate floating style thermometer. there is also a startup pack that includes a small amount of tropical fish flakes, a net that's far too short to catch bottom-dwelling fish without getting wet up to the elbow, and a small amount of water conditioner. there are no decorations, gravel, air pumps, or other items included.

i am generally satisfied with my purchase. i let the tank cycle for a week before dropping in a couple danios and platies. if i notice any issues with components wearing out early or breaking too easily, i will come back and update this review.

***UPDATE***

the tank is still holding out very well. nothing has broken or fallen apart, except for the suction cups that were with the heating element. the clips deteriorated and fell apart within a couple months, but i bought some replacements and they've worked just fine. the filter is still churning away. the led's still work, but one panel has developed a flicker or short of some kind, that sometimes lasts for a few minutes before fully powering on. it only happens maybe once a week, when i switch it from night to day setting. if it eventually needs replaced, amazon sells the panels for $25-30 each at the following link: Marineland LED Aquarium Light, 11-Inch.

after 17 months of use, i can definitely say this marineland tank is a keeper.

Why are there no measurements for this 55 gallon tank????? Who would buy this unless they knew everything about this tank from other sources. Unless you post the measurements I see no need to look at this aquarium. Just imagine how many more tanks you may have sold but most people and I am guilty of this, don't go forward and move on because there are no measurements. Hopefully this helps, Mike

1 week of tank use: Firstthis is NOT 3 gallons, it's 2. The box says 3 gallons, but it's not.

Additional Equiptment Needed: Replacement filter cartridges are $10 for a 3 pack sold on Amazon TOM TM1277 Aquarium Filter Cartridge 3 pack fits Rapids Power Filter PF-80. The manual suggests you replace them every 2-4 weeks depending on fish population and it only comes with one. So you should order extra along with a heater. I purchased the Elite Submersible Preset Heater Mini, 25-Watt for appx $15 from Amazon. Fits well with the lid cutouts, it has adjustable temperature and seems to maintain a stable temp. I bought a $3 thermometer at local pet store to gauge this.

The instructions are not great, especially as this is my 1st tank. The filter came with seperate instructions from the tank and they conflict with eachother. Once I set them aside and used common sense, it was fairly simple.

Be prepared for the massive and unsightly plugs. I placed the tank on the kitchen counter and stuffed all the chords and plugs behind the fridge using a power strip. Have a good place in mind to put this where you can hide all that unless that sort of thing doesnt bother you.

Also, I agree with another reviewer about the filter just awkwardly hanging at a tilt off the tank, as if it doesnt belong there. The lid cutouts give you the option to the hang it on the back or the side. I hung it on the back and you cannot tell.

Having said all that, let me say that it is a beautiful little tank! This was an upgrade for my betta, I foolishly had him in a 2 gallon bowl prior with no heater and he was not doing so well. He is much more active and interactive. So I do have some gripes, but for the price this really is a great set up.

The lid keeps the cat out of the water. It is truly lovely and a pleasure to sit & watch. I have been planning for a 150 gal saltwater tank in the next 2-3 years and this is a fun way to get started in the hobby for very little money.

I ordered this tank for my Betta fish after reading up on what type of conditions Betta fish need to thrive. It's very beautiful and easy to set up and clean. It does not come with a heater, however, so I had to order that extra. Betta's prefer water that's in the 75-80 degree range, so a heater and a thermometer are necessities! The light is gorgeous and really sets off the room.

This is a great little fish tank for my male Betta. Along with it I purchased a heater, a thermometer, and a green leaf hammock. Then I went to Petco and spent sixty more dollars on gravel, a live plant, silk plants, water conditioner, and various other things to make Chollie comfortable and his new home attractive. He is one happy aquatic camper!

Don't believe anyone who tells you Bettas are content in a very small container. How would you like to spend your life in a plastic or glass closet? The bigger the tank, the better for the Betta. And yes, they do require a water filter and heater.

I have it set up beside my computer and the great lighting on the top of the tank is enough to light my keyboard in the evening. The filter is noiseless and unobtrusive placed in the back of the tank.

Highly recommend (and so does Chollie)!

I purchased this aquarium mainly for the "appearance" it does look really neat.

Pros:

Easy to set up

Effective filter keeps tank very clean

Appearance it looks very nice and has a bright light.

Cons:

The plastic lid has perforated cut outs for allowing space for the filter and light. The pieces are EXTREMELY difficult to break apart and the lid cracked in the process. I followed up with company regarding this fact and have received no response.

The filter motor does have an audible hum and slight vibration. The "Eclipse" system I had made no noise at all.

The main problem with this product is it is poorly manufactured and in my opinion over priced.

The cube is a really nice size and your betta will have room to swim. They are compact but are big enough for your betta to be comfortable. The cube comes with a plant and gravel. I didn't like the plant but the gravel is coordinated with the color of the cube.

The lid is a great feature of this product. The shape is nice because you have plenty of viewing room.

If you buy this product make sure you have some silicone aquarium sealer .........more than likely you will need it. Very poorly manufactured.

This product is far too small for a living animal. Bettas are kept in small containers in pet stores because they cannot be kept with other bettas-that does not mean that's how they are meant to be kept as pets. Please research proper living conditions before purchasing something like this. If you want to see how bettas act in properly-sized tanks (HEATED tanks-they're tropical fish!), check YouTube. You might be surprised.

All Glass Aquarium AAG65101 Part Starter Fs-4, 2pk

So I needed a new condenser/starter. This did the trick and was less than 5 dollars. Sometimes you get lucky. With this product I avoided purchasing a whole new aquarium light.

I have a double bulb 48" All Glass aquarium light. When the lights quit turning on I Googled the light and thought that what I needed was these new STARTERS. After they arrived I open up the light fixture and found a BALLAST but no starters.

I should have open the fixture before I ordered the item. A word to the wise.

Tetra Extension Tube for Whisper 30 and 40 Filters

I purchased this extension hoping to extend the filter tube however when I tried to put it on my existing filter Whisper 20 system, the tube was larger than the existing one and would not fit

Each section fit into the existing 30 Top Fin I have without problems. I also have a 20 Top Fin. Top Fin is sold by Pet Smart and appears very similar to Whisper pumps. A point to remember is this tube does not fit the 20 model. The 20 has a smaller tube. Apparently, the 20 does not have an available extension and comes with a tube length too close to the discharge in my opinion. Both pumps work better, also in my opinion, with the tube inlet closer to the tank bottom. I bought aquarium silicon sealer and glued this tube between the 20 tube and intake section, let dry 24 hours, and have cleaner clearer 20 and 30 gallon aquariums.

Looked around for an extension, since I bought a deep 60 gallon hexagonal tank, you need a longer extension for the intake to get down into the tank for better filtration. I wish power filter companies would automatically include a long extension, especially since it wouldnt cost that much to include it anyway, but thank goodness you can get it here, on Amazon.

In the description it says that the tube will also fit 10-20 Whisper models. All LIES because it didn't fit at all! I was so happy because I looked everywhere and couldn't find this extension tube. When I saw it online I decided to spend the extra money to have it. Now I have a worthless $8.00 piece of plastic. Save your money if you don't have a 30 model!

took a gamble and bought is tube to be used as extension on my Fluval Edge tank in order to extend the filter tube deeper into the tank bottom. with a little effort, it fitted perfectly on the filter and had been working since.

While the device pictured is the larger volume system (5 gal vs 1400 ml), the tubing included and the tubing described in the instructions for the 1400 ml set-up are not the same. The critical difference in the included tubing and the instructions has to do with the drip counter and adapter. The drip counter and adapter is not included in the included tubing even though the instructions show it.

The model that is pictured is the 2.5 gallon size which has a larger flat bottom and the drip system mounts from on side. The one that was delivered was the 1400ml(as described) but had a totally different shape than pictured and drip system came out of bottom. Beware! look up the type on the internet and get exact details from kent marine first, then decide if this fits your space/mounting needs.

Acurel LLC Ammonia Reducing Media Pad Aquarium and Pond Filter Accessory, 10-Inch by 18-Inch

I use to have such a headache dealing with the ammonia spikes in my tank, and this helps significantly! Best part is that you just need to throw it in your filter and not have to worry about it. Just change it with every tank change, or every month.

I've been trimming Accurel Ammonia Reducing pads to fit my aquarium filter for a couple of months. Prior to this, I had a constant problem with creeping ammonia levels in the fish tank. I have a 5-1/2 gallon tank with two Cory catfish and four fancy guppies. Since I've added the Accurel to my filter, there hasn't been a problem with the water balance. The ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates remain at -0-. The pads themselves are very easy to handle. They cut easily, but are quite stiff which makes it very easy to insert them into the slots in my filter. I've tried to contact Accurel to find out how long these pads are effective, but I believe their customer service department is a myth. I've had no response, and there seems to be no way to have a direct chat. In the meantime, I change it out once a week just to be on the safe side. In spite of their customer support scoring a zero, their reasonably priced product is well worth 5 stars and I recommend it.

Not only can you cut them to fit your filter, but these are some of the best constructed filters I've ever gotten!! They have been in my weirs a couple days and they still are ridged and sturdy. Most would have already become flimsy.

this false advertisement, they are not stating that it's for fresh water only. They are not to be trusted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I expected it to be for slat water.

I cannot blame this on the product only the description. It states for fresh and salt water aquariums but when I received it surprise surprise it was for fresh water only. I have a fresh water planted tank so I'm not completely out of luck, ill give it a go in there and see what happens, but once again I'm giving it one star because of the false description not because of the product itself which looks capable.
