I've had this sponge filter running for two or three weeks now. My tank's not cycled yet, but so far I'm very happy with the filter. It's small enough to fit in my five gallon tanks without taking up too much space and my water is staying clean. It's weighted at the bottom so it stays in place. My betta fish do not seem bothered by the output as they do with traditional filters.

If you are looking for an inexpensive filter for a small tank, I recommend these sponge filters.

I bought two of these filters for my 5-gallon Beta tank use them along with a small PF-10 Tetra PW filter.

An added plus besides the Bio filtration is that these filters are not as visible and have a smaller foot print than the air filter that I was using.

They're wonderful if you own a Betta. Definitely recommend people to use these for them. Very quiet and heavy duty.
