The only issue that I have with this feeder is that the dispense slot is too small even when I opened it all the way. For pellets might be okay but flakes tends to be jammed up and not enough dispensed. I even set the timer to open twice within 2 minutes. I will have to break up the flakes into smaller piece for it to work.

I had looked at several automatic feeders and read many reviews before buying this one. I was a little skeptical based on some of the reviews. After getting this feeder and setting it up, (it's been about 1 week) I am so far very pleased. The feeder works great. I am using it with flake food. I found that if you break up the big flakes when filling it, the amount dispensed is a lot more consistent. I don't know how it would work for pellets . Using the manual feed button, I got the amount dispensed to what I wanted. I did this over a plate on the counter. The only concern I have is if over time the flakes will absorb moisture and clog up the feeder. So far no. The feeder sits about 3-4 inches above the tank so I don't know if moisture will be an issue. If you are looking for a low priced feeder for small to medium fish, I would not hesitate to buy this one. It's light weight and small and easy to set up. With the flakes crushed, I'd say it gives me about 2-3 weeks worth of feeding. I only feed my fish once a day, the feeder can be programmed for up to 3 feedings and there is the manual button to feed anytime.

The instructions were simple and easy to follow. The timer is very accurate, It hasn't lost or gained any time in two weeks.

Adjusting the food amount takes some time, and occasionally isn't consistent and will dump a little more than you want. All in all it's definitely worth the money.

The unit is easy to program and works well with pellet food. It's less consistent with flakes. I recommend testing it over a piece of paper a few times to fine tune the dispenser adjustment.

Also, make sure that the unit and its mounting clamp is suitable for your tank. I had a little difficulty finding a spot that cleared my lights and I had to come up with a temporary cover that allows the food to drop. The food is released through a trap door and I had to lower my water level a little bit so that it didn't sweep through the water on its way around.

Another word of advice: throw the included batteries away and supply fresh ones. Mine died during our vacation and I came back to some pretty hungry fish.

Except for the battery issue, I am pretty happy with the performance.

Look buyers, this cost me only $9.20 + P&H, the other vendor sell it at much higher price. It works great. I have one almost exactly look alike except it's bigger. Since I only use it when I will be out for more than couple of days, I keep on forgetting how to set the time and feeding time. That's when I mesh up the adjust button, everything else work. It didn't happened right away, it took five years of guessing and pressing hard.

There's a transparent barrel that turns to dispense food and the amount to dispense depend how much the gaps is opened. It filters depend on food size rather than quantity. You have to do a test to see if quantity is enough and if not use the repeat option per feed or add more feeding schedule time.

It could have been useless for me if I didn't have the old one which I use as a spare parts. I reused the vise from the old to the new feeder, thanks is fits. If what I have described fit your aquarium, this is a Great auto feeder. The larger size is AF-2005D and the mini size is AF-2009D. If you need the larger one then search for it. The food drum container is enough for two weeks dispensing I believed, the large size is really large than the mini, good at least for a month.
