I am using this in a small aeroponic vegetable garden and this pump has enough power to run about a dozen small sprayers with a good amount of strength. I have been running this in about 5 inches of water and it seems to be doing well.Read Best Reviews of EcoPlus 185 Submersible Pump, 185 GPH Here
I have a home made fountain made from an old whiskey barrel and an old water pump and I have gone through quite a few pumps but, this one seems to be a "beast". Previous pumps either died over time, got clogged and burned out etc. This one seems pretty tough. If something changes I'll post an update.Want EcoPlus 185 Submersible Pump, 185 GPH Discount?
I use these pumps as recirculating pumps on my metal working machines (mills, lathes, etc). A "real" recirculating system is over $200.00. With this pump I can build my own for under $50.00. I design in a settling and filter system, but the pumps still get tiny bits of metal passed through them. My longest running pump is about 6 months old and shows no sign of slowing down.Pay attention to the rise rating of the pump. The are pretty honest about this rating, meaning if they say 6 ft. rise, you not going to get much over 6 ft. But there is nothing wrong with a manufacturer being honest about the capabilities of their products.
I've tried other low price pumps for this application, and the EcoPlus seem to be the best for the money.
BTW, I am using non-flammable, water soluble, coolant for my applications. I would not recommend this pump for flammable applications.
