EHEIM Jager Aquarium Thermostat Heater 25W

My 10yo daughter and I are just getting started with fish. We live in a cold climate and wanted her tropical fish to have the right temperature when the thermostat is turned down during the day. Occasionally I come home for lunch, and this heater has no problems holding the temp 12 degrees warmer than the rest of the house during the day. It is easy to set for a precise temperature, and in the last few weeks I have never seen the tank temp even vary at all. Basically you plug in the heater (once it is in your tank), check your thermometer over the next hour for the actual temp of the water. Then you turn a ring on the heater so the arrow points to the exact temp. There are degree markings to raise or lower your tanks temperature. To start with, I set the heater to 74degrees. It actually settled at about 76. After adjusting the setting ring, I turned the tank up to 78 and it has held steady at 78 ever since. It seems like all of the smaller "preset" heaters have some that work great and others of the same model have major issues and fry the fish. This German made heater has a reputation for lasting 15+ years. This 25watt heater is good for 2gallons up to 7, the 50w is for 7 gallons up to 16 gallons. Buy this heater and you will have peace of mind that your fish are warm and safe!

I hesitated to buy because this product was sparsely reviewed, but I am adding one because so far this heater has been exceptionally accurate and good.

It is well made and easy to install and has been perfect for my 5 gallon tank. Recommended Hydor and Top Fin small heaters (not adjustable) proved

unfit to raise the temp in my tank to a consistent level -and nowhere near optimum.

I bought this heater for it's ability to maintain temperature over wide swings in ambient temperature... and it works great. Whether our house is cold from turning the thermostat down at night, or warms during the day, this heater, will maintian your aquarium's temperature. It is well worth the money.

I have owned 3 EHEIM Jager heaters for probably 6-8 months now. None of them have broken, stopped working, or have been off on their heating. Even when the room fluctuates temperatures it stays consistent. On one of the heaters I thought it was off but didn't mind, it just turned out to be my thermometer. Therefore if you're having heating troubles, I highly suggest you make sure your thermometer is accurate!

I honestly LOVE these heaters. They are very nice quality. The only issue I have is the size. It's a pretty large heater. Other than that, they're perfect. I won't ever purchase any other brand.

This is the only reliable, long-lasting heater I have ever owned. Highly recommend!!

Works really well for my 5 gal Fluval Chi tank. The dial is not that accurate, but that's no problem just start lower on the dial and keep an eye on your thermometer and work your way up to what temp you want it.
