I bought my betta fish, Marvin, while I was home on break and had him temporarily in a 1/2 gallon tank, and he was clearly not happy in it...luckily, I had this tank waiting for him when I got back to my dorm! Once I put him in he seemed immediately happiermaking bubble nests and darting around in all the space he had.
I did not want to get a bowl for him, because I know how horrible they are, but I still like round-shaped tanks. However, I also wanted something that was a little differentstandard drum shapes bored me and cylinders seemed no better than bowls. When I saw this, it was perfect! Big enough so that he wouldn't be swimming in circles all day, and so pretty! The black edges really add a unique and artsy quality that looks perfect in my dorm!!
It's an absolutely beautiful tank and I LOVE it! It's big enough so that he can dart around and do his little dance every time I come by with food, but small enough so that I can fit it perfectly on my desk.
I also appreciated that the tank came with a sample of betta food, water conditioner, and a betta care book. I was able to read up on betta care before I got my little buddy, and also made use of the water conditionerI have yet to receive the bottle I ordered, so I was glad I had this one. As for the food, Marvin really likes his Hikari pellets, so I'm keeping the pouch as an emergency supply, in case I run out.
If you're looking for something pretty, and at the same time adequate for a betta fish, this is the perfect tank!
