Oh well, if you receive lemons, make lemonade. So I decided to do the same thing I was going to do with the more grass-like product and cut it into pieces (three) in order to give a "lawn-like" appearance to an area that does not get enough light to grow real aquarium grass.
I was quite pleased with the results. I posted a photo above of how I laid this out.
I was not looking for a "breeding" area, so I really did not want a 9x9 inch square.
Yes, the other reviewers are correct, this stuff floats very well, so I followed their advice and laid the pieces down and covered it with gravel from under the spot where I was laying it. After I had all three pieces cut, placed, and covered with gravel, I went through and removed the excess gravel. I also, prior to placement, removed the extra "straight" connecting pieces that might show in the front and side. By laying the pieces over the gravel, and following the contours that were already established, I was able to achieve a nice, "natural" looking lawn effect.
The fish, including Corydoras, seem to have no problem with it.
A simple product for a very reasonable price. You just have to find your artistic side and create! My fish loves this the fast shipping was great it looks so realistic in my fish tank, also the grid is very helpful

Love that I can cut it up into various sizes to put around my tank. Provides a great hiding place for the baby fish. It is pretty short an inch or so high add the gravel over it to weight it down a little and there's not too much left sticking up.Read Best Reviews of Como 9.1" x 9.1" Green Square Artificial Grass Lawn for Fish Tank Here
The item looks good. Just like the picture. The only thing that did not please me was there were no weights on it to keep it at the bottom of my pond. It just floats to the top.Want Como 9.1" x 9.1" Green Square Artificial Grass Lawn for Fish Tank Discount?
Used to protect the little fry and it works well. I would recommend this over the regular breeding grass as you can run it up the wall of your tank.
