Cobalt Aquatics 5-Watt Mini-Therm Electronic Heaters for Aquarium

Cobalt Aquatics 5-Watt Mini-Therm Electronic Heaters for AquariumI like this little heater. It didn't have any reviews so I took a chance on it. A couple of the other slim or mini heaters tend to keep my betta bowls too warm.

The cobalt mini 5 watt is keeping my one gallon bowl at a steady 78 degrees. IT has been in service for 3 weeks. I live in Texas and my house's ambient temp in this time of year is about 71.

This heater is perfect for a one gallon tank! I had a 7.5 watt heater that I had to keep unplugging because the water was getting too hot. With the 5 watt heater, no worries and no over heating. Temp stays at 78 to 82 degrees. Could not find anything like this heater at stores.

Its just an awesome little heater for glass and acrylic aquariums from one gallon to 5 gallon aquariums not recommended for 10 gallons and up, you might need something stronger than 5 watts.

Most "betta" heaters range from 7.5 watts to around 15 watts. This is a nice little 5 watt heater, good for very small tanks, or if you only need to raise the temperature slightly in a larger tank. Also good to add as a second heater to a tank needing just a bit more warmth.

The directions clearly explain that this is an "always on" type heater no thermostat meaning no protection from overheating so careful monitoring is required. Not all manufacturers are up front about the limitations of this kind of heater. All betta/bowl heaters operate this way, however the directions don't always make that clear and a lot of people have problems due to expecting something these heaters can't deliver.

This heater is small, heavy, and the suction cup holds well. It heats as much as a mere 5 watts would be expected toif it's what you need, it's perfect.
