I was cycling a salt water tank using another brand of bacteria and after 4 weeks and no sign of nitrite and ammonia still off the scale, I thought I'd try another brand of bacteria. I can't believe I wasted a month on that expensive brand! After 2 days (!!!) of adding Bio Spira the cycle finally started! the ammonia was down to 8 and the nitrite up to 5. In 2 days! In only 7 days the ammonia and nitrites are 0. I only put in a single application too. This is an amazing product. Don't waste money on special Blend Micro Lift, get this instead because it really works.

But not a miracle either. I believe in this product and use a small amount at each water change. I know some folks think it helps with an instanct cycle, I did use it at the start and yes the cycle was quick. I did have a small cycle, Do i trust it with expensive coral probably not but if you are using something like this you probably shouldnt have pricey coral anyway. Do i continue to use it no doubt I do. If you use this in an established take keep in mind that you must keep your UV and Skimmer off for at least 24 but probably better off with 48 hours.

I just set up a 125g saltwater reef aquarium and I was in a hurry to be able to stock it with cool pretty and different kinds of fish that are peaceful and also put coral in in about 6 months since they are more fragile and sensitive to any kind of change in water parameters. I bought this locally but have used it now in two different tanks a 20g and a 75g, with regular water testing these tanks both were completely cycled in less than a week.

Have used many additives to combat ammonia in a new tank. This turned everything around in 24hours. Long and the short is tank crashed due to stupid mistake, the QT wasn't ready then after 24hrs ammonia is at zero and I believe no fish loss. Amazing product and sorry say this but I have too. Noticed this is "made in Germany" so i'm not surprised it worked. Good German Egineering!
