My old Snapper needed to be cleaned and rebuilt after 6 years of constant use. The new version runs with less noise and takes up the same amount of space as the old one so installation is simple. I now have the old one in running condition just in case there is a problem or if I need it for another tank.The Reeflo pumps still seemed to made well not like the Chinese junk you see out there.
I got this pump to power the biological filtration side of my filter system for a 240g freshwater tank. It drives a 5ft fluidized bed filter and CO2 reactor tower. It replaced a Quiet1One 9000 pump which was nothing but trouble since I installed it. The Reeflo has a direct-drive impeller which is so much stronger and more reliable than magnetic-drive impellers in smaller/cheaper pumps. The most impressive thing about this pump is how quiet it is! I wasn't sure it was even on when I plugged it in. Amazing.
