I needed new powerheads after getting a wavemaker since my existing ones rattled and groaned more and more every time they restarted.These have so far worked well, without noise. They have good, smooth, quiet output streams. My watt meter says 9 watts instead of the advertised 7 watts, however still far less than the equivalent output of what I had previously (23 watts). So some power savings is in order.
I very much like the magnetic base. I also like the swivel capability so I can place it almost anywhere and I'm not going to have to worry about aging suction cups causing falling pumps.
The one con I have is they are much larger than they appear in the picture.
But still I am happy and would recommend them.
