Hooked this up to the Danner 04520 1700CUIN AP-20 Pond Air Pump in place of the diffuser that came with it, and am very pleased with it. It's so easy to place in a deep pond with the net filled with gravel, and it generates tons of bubbles. My pond is crystal clear and fish appear happy and healthy.

This is the first fluorescent lamp I bought for my 40 gallon tank, therefore I can't compare it to others. But my life plants are thriving and the color temperature of the light creates a nice, natural look. I bought this light for my 29g aquarium. As soon as I instaled and turned on the light the water looked green. Just a warning to those of you who think that this light will be good for growing plants. It will not grow them very well. The light emits a green tint which does not look good. Danner 02527 Pondmaster 700 gph Pump
I looked it several different pumps to power my aquaponics system. This unit was recommended by the guys at Friendly Aquaponics so I thought I couldn't go wrong. I have about 400 gallons in my system and the goal is to cycle at least that amount every hour. By the specs this pump should be more that enough to handle the job, but it seems a little underpowered to me and next time I think I will go with a larger Danner pump as the pump seems to be very well made. This is not like the cheap Chinese pumps you get off Ebay.It came with a basket that keeps a lot of the solid material out of the pump, but at the same time it doesn't have any problem pumping the fish waste or algae buildup. I have been running it for 2 and a half months and have not had to clean it out once. It has a standard 3/4 in pvc outlet so I was able to use pvc piping bought at the big box store.

I've been purchasing pumps for my pond for many years until I found this one! It was a hassle to constantly readjust pump settings with every new pump I had purchased as these pumps don't last forever and manufactures don't use the same inlet diameters or tubes. But now the ONLY thing I've had to replace is the impeller which is why pumps end up failing in the first place, and other pumps you cannot replace this part alone. So I've purchased a few spare impellers,and they are very easy and cheaper to replace. I keep the same pump setting and I've only had to replace the impeller once thus far in the 2 years I've had this pump. And I think it was my fault. I could've extended the life of it had I kept the filters clean.I've read some reviews that the prefilter melts, deforms or looses it's shape. Yes, it does! But this does not justify lowering the rating of this pump. Mine lost its shape, but functions just fine. Who cares! It's under water!!
The key issue you need to keep in mind is that this pump might be a bit more expensive, BUT you can replace parts!! I've done my math and I can asure you that you end up saving money and time in the long run.
If you have had a pond for many years like I have, you know that somehow these pumps break down at the most inconvenient time. Then you can't find the same pump because manufactures change models constantly. Then the pump doesn't fit right, you now need a different diameter tubing, or the GPH somehow is not the same... forget it! Buy this one... and don't forget to always keep an Impeller replacement handy!!

Put the pump (brand new out of the box) in a refilled/clean pond with everything perfectly clean. Worked for about an hour before it started stuttering. Sounded like air or something was caught in the impeller, but its perfectly clean, the pump is submerged completely. Pulled off the impeller to see if anything was caught, but it was perfectly clean. The Danner Mfg website is of no help. Also for the 1 hour or so it did work, the output was much less than expected (barely more than my 300gph we were replacing). This replaced the same pump I had on my turtle pond for the past three years. It is a real great workhorse and they have upgraded the warranty on the pump from 3 to 5 years. It really pushes the water and the pond is crystal clear. I just wish it came with a better pre-filter. Thank goodness I saved the one from another pump that I had and I use it. Turtles can really clog up a filter fast. Just make sure you clean the filter regularly. That is what happened to my old one. The filter was dirty and clogged the pump and the impeller carved grooves in the pump. I highly recommend this pump or all the others from this company to anyone.Save 46% Off

After water changes when the new water is slightly cooler then the tank water, this heater gets the entire tank at the same temperature in a matter of minutes. Was having a lot of problems with algae in our pond. 3-in-1 filter advertised with the ultra light to eliminate the algae. It took 1 week and it was gone. Very easy to clean. Would recommend this filter if you have a small pond.
I can once again enjoy watching my fish in a clear water pond while they enterain themselves and us.

I installed this skimmer/filter 2 weeks ago & am happy with it. Space is limited for my 44 gal. corner tank so I need to combine functions whenever possible. The skimmer portion IS noisy, hence only 4 stars, but after installing an air stone in the skimmer instead of using the Venturi port, that's no longer a problem.

I would like to start this review saying that I have 20 years under my belt when it comes to aquariums and this is by far an old school filter and sometimes the old style things work better then new things I'm using this filter in a 20 gallon aquarium and it just fits I have in this aquarium a yellow perch a channel catfish and a koi planning to put them in a 55 gallon when they grow to a larger size then after that a 125 gallon tank but back to the filter works very well the protein skimmer is noisey for most people but can be quite with a 1 inch air stone it tells you in the paper that comes with the filter how to do that some filters say they do how ever many gallons and are not true this filter dose do 400 gallons per hour and if not using protein skimmer is very quite from my 20 years of having aquariums and aquarium filters this filter is by far the best power filter I have ever used and dose not make to much current for fish that are small this filter is well worth the price and at 64.99 that is the cheapest I have seen online compered to all other web sites this is the best price buy this filter for freshwater or for saltwater if you know anything about good filtering you will love this filter last but not least this filter is made in the USA not china.Read Best Reviews of Supreme Skilter Power Filter 400 Here

When i got it and put it together, it looked awesome.. but when i started running it, it started leakin where the motor is connected to the container. it sucks.. so i had to grab the whole thing and drag it to the sink so i dont mess up the wood floor. i used plumber's tape around where the O-ring is and it quit leakin.. the filter part of it works great.. the skimmer? not so much.. blows so much bubbles but doesnt make any skim...overall, its just a filter.Save 18% Off
