Tetra Whisper Air Pumps for Deep Water Applications
This pump works wonderfully! Not only does it pump enough air to run a 3in bubble disk, and a 6in bubble wand, but it does so with so much power that I actually have my splitter set to only 3/4 power!
And, as amazing as it may seem, it does all this silently! I've used the big blue rounded pumps before, and they are silent for a while, but then get unbearably loud. I've been running this pump non-stop for months, and it hasn't increased in sound level at all. It's truly amazing.
I have no problem recommending this pump to everyone, it's cheap for what it offers, and it offers a LOT!I have used many air pumps and besides the old trusty Whisper 1000, which is no longer available, this is the best in my opinion. It will have no trouble pumping down to 4 feet of water and still have good volume of air. Unlike the Whisper 1000, the 300 is not adjustable. The current image for Amazon is that of the 150 model. The 300 has two out lets.
I have one for my 4 feet deep pond for about a year and another for my fish room for six months. The on in the fish room is powering 6 air stones at 20 inches of depth with impressive amonts of air. Both have performed well and have been reliable. I plan to buy another one to keep around as a spare.
The pump is rather on the quiet side as far as noise is concerned, but I dont recommend it for a bed room or other areas where quietness is desired. You will hear the hum.
The key to longivity for these air pump is frequent replacement of the air stones. These pumps will last much longer if you keep the back pressure to a minimum. This sounds like common sense, but a lot of people just dont bother with this and then blame the pump failure on poor quality of the pump.

I looked long and hard for a quality pump and this is it . It is very powerfull , and wisper quiet . Has a nice heavy feel that screams quality . Good pump at a great price . I have it running 2 4" airstones and still have air to spare , I could easily run 2 more !Read Best Reviews of Tetra Whisper Air Pumps for Deep Water Applications Here
I've never had an air pump that wasn't a disappointment and they're always far louder than a "whisper" quite frankly, they make an awful buzzing racket! This one isn't silent, but it's noticably quieter than any of my previous air pumps and the through-put of air is fantastic! It's powerful, it's quiet and I'm SO GLAD that I bought this pump. I'm using the AP 150 in a bottom-drilled, 60 gallon tank the tube goes straight up through the floor of the tank, into an air stone and it's blasting a column of air like a champ! Plus: the price here on Amazon is about half of what the local fish store was charging. The Whisper AP 150 is a winner!Want Tetra Whisper Air Pumps for Deep Water Applications Discount?
The pump initially worked very well, being both quiet and powerful. However, after 89 days of service it failed completely. It was pumping air into a depth of 2 feet.Update: Contacted manufacturer. The unit is under warranty and they committed to replace it. The new pump arrived and works well.

I bought this heater (from WalMart)last week for my 5 gallon tank. When I first put it in the tank the red light came on. After maybe a minute or so the light turned off. I wondered whether or not it was heating the water...After a couple days I moved the heater to my 10 gallon tank. The light did not come on, even after unplugging and replugging it. It's been in this tank for about three days, and the light hasn't come on. The temperature has actually dropped a few degrees since being in this tank. I will be returning it to the store as soon as possible. It electrocuted my catfish... Why? Because they don't do quality control in China. Yes, you can feel how angry I am for killing my catfish which I've had for years. I wish I could give a negative star on this review. Never buy Tetra products, you have been warned.I was researching on a good heater for a 1.5gal fish tank, and I came across the Tetra submersible HT 10. It fits very well into the tank, and the heater maintains a constant temperature at 76F. I am satisfied with this heater. However, you cannot change the temperature setting. It has been 3 months since i bought this heater, and i have no complaints yet. My fish is healthy and well heated with this HT10 from tetra.

Fish & Aquatic Supplies Tetra Half Moon Aquarium Kit With Led
Fluval Spec III Aquarium Kit, 2.6-Gallon
As with the Spec 2, the Spec 3 filter pump's flow is adjustable, but still way too strong. Even on the lowest setting, it's much too strong for a betta. Fortunately this is easily remedied by inserting a tiny piece(s) of filter sponge into the nozzle. You will need something very tiny to jam it in with, such as a paper clip or pin of some kind. It will take some trial and error with different sized pieces of sponge, but it's worth it once you get a flow going that doesn't bother the fish.
If you have a tropical fish, you will probably need a heater. Obviously with a betta I needed one. I actually have 2 heaters in the back compartment of the tank, an 8 watt and a 10 watt, since one of them alone wasn't enough to keep the temperature at 78F or higher, especially since the weather is cooling down where I live. Also, depending on the wattage of your heater, you may have to move it from the filtration compartment to the other side of the wall into the living space of the tank (at least for a couple hours), since the pump flow might not adequately spread the heat around the tank. This will especially be true if you stuff sponge into the pump nozzle like I did to reduce strength of the water flow. Unless it's summer or you live in a very warm climate, I would recommend at least a 10 watt heater.
This is a great looking and well-functioning tank. The only negative issues for me are the excessively strong filter flow, which is fixable, and the difficulty of tightening the light fixture, which is a minor issue since a somewhat loose light still works fine and shouldn't be a problem unless you have pets or kids running around near the tank...plus the issue may only be with my unit to begin with. I strongly recommend this tank. I will update if I experience any problems.I purchased this tank at a local pet store since I could not have it shipped to me, but I wanted to leave a review since I spent so much time on Amazon reading reviews to help me decide.
The tank is clean and modern looking, made primarily of glass with two small aluminum "columns" to cover up the corner seams. The back wall and filtration/pump compartments are made from plastic/acrylic, but they are nice quality. Plenty of room for what's included plus additional space for a submersible heater. The lid is just thin acrylic, and while nothing special, it is easy to take on and off and may even be optional if you aren't worried about your fish jumping out. It has an ample cutout in the back to allow for the cords to exit the compartments. Overall the quality of the tank is very good compared to what is usually offered for Bettas in a chain pet store, and I think if you are serious about the hobby it is worth the money and your fish will be happy. The included light is sleek and low profile, easy to install. Not adjustable, so what you see in the advertised picture is the only height the light can be placed at. I think the LED lighting is very nice, not too harsh, and I like that it doesn't heat up like incandescent lights do.
I have had this tank set up for just two days now, and my fish must think he's been upgraded to a 5-star hotel compared to his previous tank, which was an Aqueon MiniBow 1 gallon tank. (Which IMO was awful for Betta...the filtration "system" is terrible...do not recommend.) The Fluval tank is just under 3 gallons, and as long as you don't overdo the decorations, there is plenty of room for Betta to be comfy. Set up was simple enough, though many reviewers complained that the pump is hard to place. Yes, it was tricky but it was not impossible. Just takes a bit of patience and perhaps keep your fish net handy to use the handle. Don't forget to set the pump on the lowest setting using the slider before you place it down into the compartment. Once the pump is placed there is plenty of room in the pump compartment to place a reasonably sized heater. I went with the Fluval 25W preset heater just because that was what was available for this size tank in the store. It fits nicely into the compartment, though I recommend sticking it to the black divider since it would not stay suctioned to the back acrylic wall of the tank. Once setup was complete, I plugged in the pump and was happy to find that it is in fact nearly silent. I only knew it was on because I could see the current flow. If you are right next to the tank, there is a barely audible hum, but nothing obnoxious in the least.
The pump output line has an adjustable nozzle that has a fairly decent range of movement. Many reviewers commented that the current was too strong for a Betta, and in my case, I have to agree. It is not as bad as the MiniBow current, and the fact that it is adjustable is a plus. There were lots of suggestions on how to reduce the current, and in my situation, I bought a taller plastic swordtail plant from PetCo and stuffed some of the leaves into the nozzle opening as well as arranged more leaves around to break up the current flow. This worked like a charm without having to damage the air tubing or purchase any extra items. Other suggestions included stuffing some sponge into the nozzle head or installed an in-line ball valve to the air line. With my particular 'fix', there is still a touch of surface movement but not enough to disturb my Betta or sweep all of his food into the filter before he gets a chance to eat it.
Overall I am extremely satisfied with this tank. I don't plan to add any other fish or animals in with the Betta, so the size is perfect and it has a conservative footprint. If you are considering this tank, I strongly recommend it, especially over plastic or acrylic tanks. I will try to post some pictures of my setup ASAP. I hope this helps!

I got the white version. I wanted to set up a tank with brackish water for the little red Hawaiian shrimp. I laid the tank over on its side with the filter side down and had no trouble placing the motor in. I think for most fish that are not still water species, like an angel or a betta, the flow of the motor on the low setting will be just about right. If you want to decrease the flow some more, bore a little hole in the tube between the motor and the nozzle. This will harmlessly bleed off pressure before it reaches the nozzle. I used aquarium sealant to glue a two inch thick block of pre filter foam over the slotted filter intake. This will not be needed with most fish. The slotted intake is a good design. The little shrimp though are very tiny and could easily be sucked in, never to be seen again. The thick foam block that I added covers the slots plus a wide area around them. The intake flow seems as gentle and diffuse as an air driven foam filter. The water level in the filter is almost even with that in the tank, indicating no significant resistance to the inflow. I expect that the snails and shrimp will keep this pre filter foam pretty clean, but I can squeeze it out in place if it clogs. There is a small slot 2/3 the way down on the filter wall to let water enter a special area of the supplied filter block. I plugged it with sealer to keep tiny things from getting sucked in. I am impressed with the size of the supplied filter foam block. Properly cycled it should easily handle the light bio load that I expect to have in the tank. I have the tank heavily decorated with dead coral, barnacles, rocks, and aragonite sand. The current created by the pump can only be detected by the slight movement of the water on the surface where the nozzle is. It runs as quiet as a mouse p**ing on cotton. The lid will help with evaporation and keep most things from jumping out. The light is plenty bright to display the tank. I believe that it will be adequate to grow the hair like macro algae that I have in there. As I write this the tank is cycling with the algae and snails. It is as pretty as a picture. I would have gotten the Spec V, but my space was not long enough. I would buy this one again. It seems like a great little tank.Read Best Reviews of Fluval Spec III Aquarium Kit, 2.6-Gallon Here
I'm very pleased with this aquarium (as is Oliver), except it arrived with a crack in the base that makes it need a prop under it to be stable. It isn't visible from the outside, but it is still annoying considering I payed so much for it. I really like the aquarium though both its appearance and functionality.Aqueon 06227 Siphon Vacuum Aquarium Gravel Cleaner Extender

I'm happy with this for the money. The quality of the lamination is as good as anything I've seen in the stores. I would give it more stars if it was a bit more vivid in it's coloring. The coloring is excellent for a natural look, my wife likes the fish-tank to 'pop' a bit more than this does.Want 9090 20" x 48" Double Sided Fish Tank Aquarium Background Tropical/Reef Discount?

One very important note about these:
They will not fit a regular aquarium. They are designed to fit rimless tanks. So if you've got the typical black plastic rim around the top of your aquarium, find another light.
Also, the replacement bulbs are proprietary, so its a good idea to buy a replacement bulb ahead of time, rather than risk not being able to find a pet store that stocks the bulb when your burns out. If you search Google, you'll find instructions on how to modify a standard bulb to work with Fluval's proprietary connector, but to me it seemed easier to buy a new bulb than try to hack a standard one to fit.Got this light to replace and LED light that came with my fluval spec tank, the LED light begin to flicker and going out, this one fit well and is much brighter, should be better off for my plants as well.

Using this light instead of the light that came with the fluval spec. Amazing difference! It's also sleek and attractive. There's a slight overhang in the front because it was made for the slightly deeper fluval tanks, but it's so slight I can't tell from the front. I also love that the light swivels up so I can do maintenance stress free. Easy to install and my plants so far seem to be doing just fine.got for my AC70 HOB fuge growing cheto like a champ. However, with in 2 hrs of having the plants in the tank our pleco became entangled in the grass like plant (it is made poorly and left with jagged edges) and cut up his fins very badly. The wider leaf plant is perfect though. They were a little bigger than I had anticipated but can be cut down to proper size, which I'm fine with.
To me, they looked like they were supposed to be a neon green, which was what I was looking for. They turned out a typical green color.
Other than color, they're nice.

I put them in my regular (not biOrb) 30 gal tank and they look beautiful against my white gravel and blue background. They are definitely brighter than regular plastic plants. The heavy weights at the bottom are an amazing innovation, just dropped them in and nothing floats back up! But I still had to get into the water to cover them with the gravel though. They are long enough to reach almost top of the water, my tank is about 20 inches in height. Absolutely recommend it to anyone.Read Best Reviews of biOrb Easy Plant - 2 Pack Large Here
Having gone thru a ton of different plants. I think I like this base the best. Just right. The plastic ones come apart, the stone bases which cost ALOT more haven't held up either.. and are too big to keep hid. I think these are going to work. Like the smaller size for hiding. One plant has long, skinny leaves that resemble long grass. One plant has long, broader leaves that are about 3/4" wide.
These plants are long enough to go all the way to the top of the BiUbe, slightly poking out of the water.
It really looks nice to include one set of Large plants in the BiUbe along with smaller plants.
I placed the plant that resembles grass underneath the feeding hole.
When I drop floating food pellets in the feeding hole, they stick to the grass and my fish seem to enjoy eating the pellets off the grass...but who knows?...

Barely a teaspoon of paste and a pad that you get with the filter cartridge. And it doesn't even work on noticeable scratches. I don't mean deep scratches, but it doesn't work on anything other than haze. I didn't buy it to get rid of haze.I think they should be clear in the description of this scratch removal kit that it will remove SMALL, FINE scratches. It will make a slight improvement to larger scratches created by the ceramic media so I recommend being very careful if you have to remove any of the cermaic media and not getting scratches in the first place!SeaClear Rectangular Aquarium Combo (Clear)
I have very heavy Holey rock that needs to be taken in and out of the aquarium tank during water changes. I've dropped several big pieces numerous times over the years. I worry about hurting the fish, but never about the tank.
The acrylic tank spoiled me. I was given two glass aquariums since this one. I broke the first one when I was cleaning it. The other one is still in my garage. I've decided to stay with acrylic. It's tough and it's just as clear as glass.
I want to say to check this set and make sure you know what it comes with. The one I have came with the acrylic splash cover, a light/ ballast, heater, and Penguin 330 Filter. SeaClear Aquariums are great. I'm just not sure how Petco sells this particular aquarium.Just ordered this tank, and waiting shipment. I'll update once it arrives!
I'm puzzled as to how people looking at this tank can't figure out how big it is. It's described as 36" x 12" x 16", which makes it 6912 cubic inches, or very slightly less than 30 gallons in volume, as measured from the outside. So, we'll call it 29+ gallons!

Ok I believe this tank is a 30 gallon...thats what it said on the packaging paper when i got it. I wouldnt have bought it had I known, but anyways. This sucked that they didnt put the size, it just seemed a bit sketchy to me.This tank has 3 cutouts on top, pretty small, I'm cutting them a bit wider, since I have turtles. Its a pretty great size tank overall, I just hate that the top is glued on. I would have prefered one with no top or one that comes off.

This tank is very lightweight and easy to clean...just use a paper towel or cello sponge to wash the inner walls or it will get scratched because it's plastic. The LED light is not very bright but it adds great ambiance and the fact it has a lid is very convenient and safer if your betta is a jumper. My betta jumped out of the marina zen cube b/c the opening is very wide.
The only reason it did not get 5 stars is that it didn't come with an adaptor and batteries can run pretty expensive so I'm using rechargeables to save money. I definitely would recommend this over the other betta tanks for both looks and value.Well, it was less then 20 bucks for my bettas setup. When the tank arrived ,the packaging was a bit odd, but the wait was worth it. This tank has an outlet on the back that you can power WITH YOUR PHONE CHARGER. Yeah, did you ever think you'd hear of a tank powered by a usb? What I like to do is power it with my xbox. This tank looks good wherever you place it in your house. Mine personally has green river rocks with green plants. The lighting from the tank really gives it a retro apperance, and my little guy couldn't be happier! Oh!There is one small issue.. The lights aren't that powerful, even when plugged in. They still give the tank a fair lighting, but don't expect your average incandescent bulb.10/10 In my opinion :)

I needed a tank with a lid, since my cat kept drinking out of the one I had. I love the shape, its fan and cool! The base lights up, however, one of the bubls was burnt when I received it. Its a cool tank and it came in one piece and in no time at all! This tank looks nice and sleek; but it lacks filteration and the lights run on batteries. The batteries need to be loaded from the bottom. Very awkward when the tank is filled and in use.My Beta is very happy in his new home. It is easy to clean and looks nice and modern. Happy with it !
