I wasn't protecting coral with the Twist Clarifier, so more robust chemical anti-bacterials were available to me. 1) the bulb doesn't last very long & 2) it was inadequate used alone, forcing me to support the clarifier with chemical anti-bacterials. If you can use chemicals, they'll be more effective. If you can't, better to select a stronger UV source to improve effectiveness.
We went on vacation and had a friend feed our fish and we came back and they looked a little sick, some algae growing on them or something so I ordered this and after a week they were looking more lively and the growths went away. Fair warning though, this is only a 2 week service kit, it says you have to change it out after 2 weeks back to a normal filter.
Shipping was very quick. I have used this pump in the past works well. I generally get about 3 to 4 years out of it and I have to get a new one. How ever I use it year round in my outside pond about 1500 gals. And we go down to zero degrees sometimes in the winter. It has a good price for what you get.

Just received this pump. I ordered it as a replacement for my existing pond pump. The pump does not have the suction stand/screen that is in the picture one of the reasons I bought it to minimize crud entering the pump. It also is not new it appears to have been disassembled (screwdriver marks at the casing seams along with evidence that some kind of sealant that was used).Want Cal Pump PW2500 Direct Drive 2500 GPH Waterfall Pump Discount?
This pump stopped working after 3 weeks. Save your money and buy a different pump. This one is not worth it.
If you are going for a brightly colored tank, this is a winner. I love how the weighted bottom makes cleaning the tank super easy. When you suction the bottom of the tank, you don't have to try to reanchor them when you are done. Make sure to suction them out too. They tend to gather "gunk" in them over time.

I purchased this package of bio balls for my new 14 gallon fish tank and the colors are bright and cheery. My order arrived super fast and they were new in package. Very affordable and they add beautiful color to my water paradise. I will definately order from this seller again.
Product works well. I use it for my betta tank. Flow of water can be a little strong for the bettas. Due to this, I wish this product had a way to control the water flow.

The bare minimum needed from a hang on back filter is to have water go in through the intake, pass through the filtration media, and return to the tank at the output. This filter gets that aspect of the job done. However, there aren't many other reasons to purchase the Whisper PF10 over other hang on back filters in the same price range. After a few months of use, several of my filters became loud, and required periodic adjusting to get water to come out of the intended outflow area (water sometimes comes out of the region above the intake tube like other reviewers have pointed out). One of my Whisper PF10 filters even started to leak at its base recently. I've had the filter for about 4 months now, and it seems to filter the water nicely. The water flow is too strong, however, which forces food flakes into the tank before the fish have a chance to eat from the top. Ok so I've been keeping crickets for forever for my leopard gecko. I usually buy them once a week or so in sets of 10-15. They get a capful of this crap and another capful of some powder food. Honestly, this stuff is just terrible compared to that yellow liquid cricket stuff (you know the one). First off, it doesn't come with a scooper like the yellow. Second, it is made of these terrible little beads that get everywhere and try out within 2-3 days. Finally, the whole bottle has changed from green to blue (after about a month stored indoors in the shade). Also, the bottle is so tall that scooping (I use the scooper from the yellow gel stuff) is very inconvenient. I have to get my whole hand in there to get the stuff out. Since I dropped like 8 bucks on this thing I'm gonna power through, but I already have my yellow gel ready to go once this stuff is finally exhausted.
