i do like it but it was a bit smaller than i thought it would be...modified again and this time my boyfriend had to use a tiny bit of silicone because the tip had the metal sticking out once i bent it the way i wanted...other than that its nice lol

I bought this at Petco in person. I use it for all of my fish because, since it's made for delicate brine shrimp, the net material is very fine and soft. This is good for all types of fish and prevents damaging their fins and scales when moving them. Most nets made for fish are quite rough, so I prefer this net.
P.S. If you ever lay the net on the top of the tank, be sure none of the material is touching the water because it will wick the water and you may get some dripping out of the tank.

It does a very good job of filtering my tank. I have a frog with a half and half tank setup. The suction is fine for the frog, but when I put a fish in there, it was over taken by the strength of the suction and the power of the water being filtered out. Tetra Whisper Air Pumps for Deep Water Applications
I purchased this pump because it needs to be able to supply a lot of air through about 6ft. of tubing, the first 4ft of that being straight UP.This pump works wonderfully! Not only does it pump enough air to run a 3in bubble disk, and a 6in bubble wand, but it does so with so much power that I actually have my splitter set to only 3/4 power!
And, as amazing as it may seem, it does all this silently! I've used the big blue rounded pumps before, and they are silent for a while, but then get unbearably loud. I've been running this pump non-stop for months, and it hasn't increased in sound level at all. It's truly amazing.
I have no problem recommending this pump to everyone, it's cheap for what it offers, and it offers a LOT!
I have one for my 4 feet deep pond for about a year and another for my fish room for six months. The on in the fish room is powering 6 air stones at 20 inches of depth with impressive amonts of air. Both have performed well and have been reliable. I plan to buy another one to keep around as a spare.
The pump is rather on the quiet side as far as noise is concerned, but I dont recommend it for a bed room or other areas where quietness is desired. You will hear the hum.
The key to longivity for these air pump is frequent replacement of the air stones. These pumps will last much longer if you keep the back pressure to a minimum. This sounds like common sense, but a lot of people just dont bother with this and then blame the pump failure on poor quality of the pump.

I've never had an air pump that wasn't a disappointment and they're always far louder than a "whisper" quite frankly, they make an awful buzzing racket! This one isn't silent, but it's noticably quieter than any of my previous air pumps and the through-put of air is fantastic! It's powerful, it's quiet and I'm SO GLAD that I bought this pump. I'm using the AP 150 in a bottom-drilled, 60 gallon tank the tube goes straight up through the floor of the tank, into an air stone and it's blasting a column of air like a champ! The pump initially worked very well, being both quiet and powerful. However, after 89 days of service it failed completely. It was pumping air into a depth of 2 feet.Update: Contacted manufacturer. The unit is under warranty and they committed to replace it. The new pump arrived and works well.

In addition to an array of aquariums ranging from 55 gallons and up we keep our Betta in an Aqueon 5 gallon Bow Front.When the bulb went out, I headed to the local pet store to pick up a replacement no dice, they don't carry them.
Then to both Petco and Petsmart again no dice they don't carry these but both suggested to try Home depot.
So off to Home Depot they carry this size bulb but the lowest wattage is 25 which would throw off far to much heat. I bought one anyway to give poor "Gill" a little much needed light.
But in twenty minutes the temperature, as expected began to rise.
I don't know why I didn't check Amazon to begin with after all we buy virtually everything else here. In fact out of my 120 reviews I would guess 40% are devoted to dog and aquarium supplies go figure.
Sure enough, here they are on Amazon for a mere $3.99 plus with my Prime membership they were shipped via free two day shipping.
The bulbs arrived in perfect condition and are shipped carefully and fast, I purchased a few just to have replacements on hand and considering how difficult these are to find, you'll most likely want to do the same.

This product is excellent, and good for plants that root in the substrate. The packaging was satisfactory, and once finished cleaning it, it looks amazing.Beware, though the product directions are very misleading. My tank was a cloudy mess after adding this, and a quick google search of this product showed me my folly. This is by the far the dustiest of sand substrates out there for aquariums.
I took the advice of said website, I put my entire bag in a pillowcase, ran the hose through it for about 30 minutes until the water was clear, and now it looks great.
If you live in a small apartment or don't have access to a workspace, beware this can get messy, id select a different substrate.
Well, I rinsed it in a bucket before putting it in my tank figured a little rinse should be enough IT WASN'T!!
If you buy this, RINSE IT OUT VERY VERY WELL or your water will be CLOUDY FOR DAYS, IF NOT WEEKS!
I will probably never use this stuff again... I have also used Eco-Complete and highly prefer it over Seachem's product.

As with any flourite product, these are dusty. You can do anything from washing them in a bucket (really just filling and refilling the bucket until no cloud appears) or putting the sand into an old pillow case and spraying it with a house until none of it 'leaks'. The manufacturer claims that you don't need to wash their products, but I've only found this to be the case when burying the product under another substrate.This stuff is great in the aquarium. It feels like black sand, but has all the benefits of a flourite substrate. My plants are vibrant and healthy. I also dose root-tab fertilization into the flourite. I haven't had any algae outbreaks (which happens if the substrate doesn't retain the fertilizers).
The sand looks really great and is far better than 'regular' sand for plants. I plan to use it all my new tanks.

I've only had this in my tank for a few days so I can't vouch for its effect on my plants. But it looks really nice. :)After reading about how to keep the cloudiness to a minimum I decided not to rinse the substrate. Instead, I put it straight into the aquarium, planted, then filled the tank VERY slowly, through an airline tube until about halfway up, making sure the water flowed ONLY onto a small plate. After about halfway I poured the water slowly from a cup onto the plate. By the time the tank was filled there was virtually NO cloudiness and a few days later the tank is crystal clear.
It was kind of anti-climactic, actually, after hearing so much about how cloudy this would be. I was prepared for the tank to look like utter crap for over a week but that just wasn't my experience at all.
Now, this was only a 6.6 gallon Petco bookshelf aquarium and I only used less than 1/3 of the bag. Maybe this is a bigger problem with bigger tanks with larger filters that create more turbulance? Maybe it's difficult to keep up the painstakingly slow pace of filling needed to prevent the cloudiness in big tanks? If anybody knows I'd be thrilled to hear about it. Please comment if you do. :)

This stuff is fantastic!I ordered this sand recently to redo the substrate in my 40g breeder. After rinsing each bag for about 5 minutes through a pillow case as was recommended by other reviewers, I dumped 3 bags into a 5 gallon bucket and let it sit for about an hour. I then used a homemade funnel for sand application in a full tank(2 foot long piece of 2" diameter PVC piping with a 2"-4" coupler on top to give it a nice sized opening). By using this funnel after properly rinsing the sand, it allows you to add the sand with very minimal clouding. (Sidenote: TURN OFF YOUR FILTER WHEN YOU ADD THE SAND AND LEAVE IT OFF FOR AT LEAST AN HOUR AFTER ADDING THE SAND!!!!!)
My tank was clear again within 8-10 hours (went to bed and was crystal clear water when I woke up) and all of my fish were still looking very happy. Plants are doing much better in this substrate and my eels no longer knock them out of the ground when they go burrowing and it is bringing out colors in my fish I never knew they had. This is expensive sand but worth every penny!
P.S. After calling SeaChem, they assured me that this Flourite Black Sand is both burrower safe and soft belly safe which was a big concern for me and I know it will be for many others out there. So far this seems to be holding true and my eels and kuhli loaches are loving digging around in it.

Maybe I was just ignorant when I purchased this, but just a warning to those that may not know; This does not come with the T5 HO lighting. You need to order it separately, and it seems that the only size that will fit (22" bulb) is only sold via Zoomed. I just ordered the bulbs so I cant really give this a review as far as the quality goes, but I just wanted people to be aware.
Its a great product, my plants were starving for light from the old light fixture. My tank is a 30gallon tank that came in a package that is sold at petstores and wal mart. Its very bright, only down side is that it does not sit flush with the top of the tank, which is good for tanks that have large aquatic plants that can grow above the water level but bad for fish that jump. Also, because it does not sit flush with the top of the tank light does escape out the front and back. But you just can't have a thriving plant tank with out proper lights and this light goes beyond expectations. The two light bulbs I used have 5,000k and 6,500k output and it has made a major difference in my plant growth.
The mounting brackets slide into the light fixture for a secure mount, so it wont slide and drop into the tank. The kit comes with (2) 4ft wire cords to screw into the top of the tank so you can hang it from the ceiling if you need more space for larger plants. The two light bulbs have independant on/off switch's but only one 3ft power cord. It keeps your timer from getting cluttered with two many power cords. You will need an extention cord if your outlet is farther that 3ft away from you light or your tank is up higher than mine..
The platic bulb cover slides out one side of the fixture to install light bulbs. There is a thin plastic wrapping on the glass from packaging, remove this film. It is very easy to clean, since the entire fixture is mounted on hinges.
From end to end the entire fixture is 32 inches wide and the mounting brackets can be positioned anywhere under the fixture, so this light will secure to any size tank 32inches wide or less.
Inside where the bulbs go, there is a reflector for maximum light exposure to the tank. The bulbs and reflector are protected by the clear plastic cover, so dust and algea can not reach them.
Can't beat the price or quality of this product. 5 stars...

I bought one of these lights locally. Its great. Provides plenty of light, and even has hinges on the brackets allowing you to easily flip up the fixture for maintenance and cleaning. The brackets are also adjustable, so you don't need them at the end, or use them at all. At nearly half the price of the GLO lighting, I feel this is a better deal. I am currently planning to buy more for my other tanks. I would defiantly recommended these lights for a cheaper (and just as durable) option for many of the T5 lighting available. this is a great light so far. I put the 6700k flora sun and the light it gives is beautiful, not too bright but the plants love it.For this price, it is definiteely a no brainer. Go for it!!

I purchased this light fixture from amazon (does not include t5's) along with a couple light bulbs with it. Looks great on my 29gal but had to remove my glass cover... which i broke in the process anyway, because the mounting hardware that comes with it required me to. No big deal, I just have my tank open to air. The light can tilt up thanks to the hinged mounting hardware which is convenient. The light seems rugged and includes suspension hardware, and the aluminum reflector is quite excellent compared to my old fixture's skimpy reflector. The only dislike I have is that the cord length is only like 4 feet which isnt a big deal either if you have plugs available and your aquarium isnt on a skyscraper (my dresser). Great product, no problems, no complaints no improvement suggestions... except maybe different mounting options. None the less 5 stars.Save 52% Off

Too bad they make everything out of plastic because otherwise this product would have been fantastic. I got the 20 gal. pump and it is rather weak, the one I had was more powerfully. Also, I was expecting a pump with adjustable airflow and two outlets,(like the product discretion states) and I didn't get either. We got this cute little bubbler after seeing the video review. He is such a cute feature in our 12-gallon fluval edge aquarium, and our two boys (5 and 3) love it. He bends (at his leg joints) up and down as the bubbles escape his jaws. His little arms also move with the current as he bobs. Between the traditional sunken pirate treasure chest bubbler and this dinosaur, I just couldn't resist the dinosaur. He's unique and fun. You will need to supply your own air pump and tubing. As other reviewers have pointed out, you will likely need a regulator (an adjustable valve) if you want to have some control over how frequently he bobs up and down. The platform is a bit hard to keep concealed by the aquarium pebbles, especially if the air flow is too strong causing him to shift as he blows bubbles. But if you've regulated the flow to create a slow bob up and down, there's no shifting. For our little tank, home to a few tetras, it's just the right amount of movement and activity, and the right size feature.

Not only can you cut them to fit your filter, but these are some of the best constructed filters I've ever gotten!! They have been in my weirs a couple days and they still are ridged and sturdy. Most would have already become flimsy.this false advertisement, they are not stating that it's for fresh water only. They are not to be trusted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I expected it to be for slat water.I cannot blame this on the product only the description. It states for fresh and salt water aquariums but when I received it surprise surprise it was for fresh water only.
