i do like it but it was a bit smaller than i thought it would be...modified again and this time my boyfriend had to use a tiny bit of silicone because the tip had the metal sticking out once i bent it the way i wanted...other than that its nice lol

The hole was big enough that a Convict Cichlid freaked out when we were adding water, swam into it, and died in the process of our attempts to remove him.It doesn't serve as a hiding place (which is why it was bought) and it kinda is so what. It's heavy enough that only the Oscar can move it at least. No word on the stinking.

API 5 in 1 Aquarium Test Strips
I have this along with an API ammonia dropper test kit. I'm a week into cycling my tank so I expected to get some particular readings. The readings from this test strip were the same as the readings that my local fish store gave me when I brought some water in, so they work. Performing the test is dirt simple and reading them isn't too hard (maybe a little if it looks like its in between two colors). Obviously if you don't follow instructions you'll get bad readings and most likely blame the product. Here's a summary of the instructions in case you're wondering how it works.It's simple. Dip strip in, swirl twice, then pull out with the strip horizontal and face up. Don't shake off the water. Read the GH & KH immediately. Read the pH, NO2, NO3 after 30 seconds.
If you're careless and just pull it out and read it vertically, I imagine the water could run off from the higher test pads down to lower ones on the strip and completely screw up everything, so don't do that.
This is 10 times more quick then doing drops for everything, but you can be more precise with drops. Still, I find this to be perfectly acceptable for monitoring the levels of everything so I'm happy.

I use this for a quick check of my aquarium and it does the job well. I am never a big fan of using the more expensive water test kits with multiple bottles and a test tube to do the job. Dip, swirl, remove and readit doesn't get much more simple than that. I find that I use these more frequent than the chemical test kit because they're convenient, but I still got back to the test tubes every so often to confirm the results.I give this product a rating of 3 because the nitrite and nitrate pads turn a subtle shade of off-white/rose and it can sometime be difficult to discern the levels. Fortunately, this is at the lower end of the spectrum, meaning lower levels so it may be a moot point for you. I keep the chemistry of my aquarium at 0 for both nitrites and nitrates so I like to see the variances, even if only by 0.25.

I was having massive problems keeping my tank clear of brown algae. The tank would show signs of brown algae within 24 hours of cleaning. I read, that as the fluorescent tube ages the lamp changes color, and over time the wavelength is exactly what brown algae thrives in. My lamp was over five years old so I replaced it with same brand tube. What a difference. I never realized the color difference. The brown algae is now totally under control. I purchased this bulb two weeks ago to replace a bulb in my aquarium. I expected the light to be more of a yellow, sunlight color than my existing purplish bulbs, but I was disappointed with the color. The light from the bulb is a light orange color which doesn't look like sunlight to me. It makes my aquarium look dirty. Aqueon Tap Water Conditioner
I hate to say it, but some of these reviews just leave me shaking my head (no, this didn't kill your fish, and no, the review area of amazon isn't for reviewing a certain seller's packing method).Anyways, I figured I should review this since the current review score on Amazon is really messed up right now. This product is great, I've used it now for a few years in all of my aquariums with all different types of fish.
Just to note, I've had several different bottles of the Aqueon conditioner, and I've used it in several different tanks (so no, I don't think I got some fluke bottle that for some reason worked better than what others stated).
My 50 gal cichlid tank does well with this product.
My 30 gal cichlid tank does well with this product.
My 20 gal community tank does well with this product.
My 10 gal betta tank does well with ths product.
My 5 gal guppy tank does well with this product.
(I've also had various betta tanks and whatnot over the past few years, and my sister has used this for both brackish and salt water tanks).
Anyways, I've tried this and other conditioners; I personally don't care for the Tetra conditioner, but I do think most of them work fairly well no matter the brand. However, using this conditioner, I've never had cloudy water, I've never head unusual death rates (most of my fish are several years old at this point, many living longer than average life expectancy). So, I don't think you can go wrong with this product; it may be slightly more in cost than the cheapest products out there, but it does work.
If your fish are dying, and you think it is due to this conditioner, I would urge you to re-analyze what the scenario is. Some people will have tap water that cannot be altered enough to be fish safe, even with conditioner, as there are several other particles to take into consideration (ph, iron and other metals being the most obvious concerns). Also, if you are concerned about high chlorine/metals in your water, it doesn't hurt to add more than the recommended dosage of the conditioner. I wouldn't go crazy and add half the bottle, but even so much as doubling the amount recommended shouldn't do any damage. It's a little hard to measure anyways, since the dosage is for 10 gal, but I don't know where people are getting 10 gal buckets at, I usually just use 5gal buckets for water change, and add what looks like a little over half of the 5ml dosage. You could add 5ml for every 2 buckets, but I like to add the conditioner first, then fill up the bucket so it gets nice and mixed with the water.

The 24 hour cycle is a few minutes fast for me. That is, it is about 23 hours and 50ish minutes. I end up having to reset it once a week to make sure it is on schedule.
The Zoomed dual aquarium timer is an excellent alternative, it has always worked for me and it has 2 outlets (only 1 works on the timer). This replaces the outlet that the timer is plugged into, and it is at about the same price for a much higher quality product.

I bought this for our small outdoor fish pond. I don't know the exact size or volume, but it's about 3' x 4'. Our previous pump/filter had given out partly because it was too powerful for a tiny pond. This seems to be just right. It makes a nice little fountain & filters the water really well. (We used the fountain nozzle from our other pump/filter because we wanted a more traditional tiered fountain, but this kit includes the basic bubble and waterbell type water pattern.) We had clear water again after just one day. It has been a little over a month since we installed, and no problems. It's easy to clean, and at this price is such a great value.UPDATE: It has now been a year and this pump is still working great. We kept it running all winter without the fountain part attached and it provided enough movement that our little pond didn't freeze solid and it kept our comets happy and healthy during this unbelievable winter! Now that it's warm out, it continues to keep the water crystal clear, doesn't clog over-easily and is easy to clean. I have not had the problem that others spoke of with the tab of the cover breaking off, but I also don't just try and rip it off. Very satisfied with this product! SECOND UPDATE: It has now been almost 2 years (and a very rough winter in the northeast!) and this pump is still working beautifully! My fish survived the winter as this kept the water moving even in the deep freezes we had. Great product!

The pump works quite well and does create a nice spherical pattern. The head is adjustable so you can make different patterns. For example, it can also shoot jets out perpendicular to the head. There are no instructions for how to change the pattern and it's definitely not obvious, but you just have to rotate the very top of the head. The filter is very large and easy to access for cleaning.I've tried to use solar-powered pumps and filters in my pond, but they're not powerful enough and tend to get clogged easily and break quickly. This is a much more powerful and sturdy pump with a far larger filter, so it should do the job much better. Definitely a good pump for the price.

Contacting the company and found out that Amazon is not a "designated distributor" for their product so they won't take it back!!
I tried to take apart the pump as per their suggestion and found out the pump impeller was Broken!....and the whole thing is now good as a door stop.
I don't have the money to waste.
And this was definitely a BIG WASTE.

Bought this product in May 2010 for my 200 gallon 4' X 6' pond. This is a magnetically driven pump that uses low wattage, a plus. But within weeks the impeller (the only moving part) broke and within 6 months the second impeller broke. So I bought two more. This time when it stopped, it turned out to be the motor itself, not the spare impellers.So I've decided never again with this brand. I've had my fish pond for 25 years and have run pumps 365 days/year through harsh winters and thick ice. For over 22 years, I used a Little Giant® brand pump, 3 of the same model. So that's what I am going back to. In my experience, the Pondmaster pump is inferior and poorly engineered.

These glass tops are very high quality. The only issue is the image is misleading. The image shows the 36x18 glass top that does not require a center brace but what you actually recieve is 2 18x18 sections for tanks that have a center brace. Unfortunatly that doesn't work for me but it is not the fault of the product.

I ordered this Versa Top with plans to use it with my 36"x18" 40g breeder tank. What they do not tell you about this product is it is for the FIFTY and SIXTY gallon breeder tanks and not the 40. It comes in 2 18"x18" pieces of glass that expect your tank to have a center brace and not 1 solid 18"x36" as the description of the item would lead you to believe. When I messaged the seller they refused to replace or swap out the item and I had to go through amazon directly to have things fixed. Como Aquarium Artificial Duckweed Floating Plastic Green White Plant
They are rather large so they are best suited for a larger tank. We're not talking about a Beta tank, here. 5 gallons at least.They are made of stiff plastic and will most likely come to you with their white tendrils flattened, so they need bending.
It's a cool idea for larger tanks but they are a bit sharp and you would need about two orders to have a nice display in a 10-15 gallon tank.
