Eheim AEH1000310 Compact Water Pump 300 for Aquarium

I bought it to use as a circulating pump on my 5 gallon aquarium. The range of flow speeds is wide enough for me, I am using near the minimum flow speed. It has been working non-stop for a month without any issues.

The only minor issue is that the power cable is too thick for the size of the pump. The force exerted by the cable tends to move the pump and makes it a little hard to find a suitable position and cable arrangement. It seems the manufacturer just used whatever they had in stock. A thinner electrical cable would do the job for such a small device and would make it easier to install the pump.

Microbe-Lift TheraP Pathogen Controller

I have been using TheraP for around 2 years after discovering it in smaller bottles at a local fish store (with a 75 gallon aquarium, I needed larger bottles and found the 16 oz size online). I use it in conjunction with another great product Special Blend. TheraP does reduce disease outbreaks helping to boost fish immunity. The Microbe-Lift products I use are all CHEMICAL free and 100% safe for my fish when used as directed. You will notice an odor right out of the bottle, but that goes away very quickly once you add it to your aquarium.

I have tried most Microbe-Lift products available for freshwater this is one of the must haves. Since I really liked TheraP and Special blend, I looked up the company online and found other great products they make (check their web site). I use this to put good bacteria into my tank and to avoid water changes. It dissolves harmful bacteria and creates the good kind.

(I let my water sit a few days which takes out the chlorine the natural way before adding it to the tank.) It also seems to be good for the fish and make them happy. Even yellow tubing will turn clear and the water clears up as well. After trying every chemical on the market that instantly killed my fish, this one is a life saver. You can go 4-5 months without water changes with a good filter and this stuff and just adding new water in as it evaporates. So far so good, and it's natural. (Yes it smells like sulfur but your tank doesn't and it will take the fish odor out of the tank.)

BeamsWork 12"-16" Single Bright Power LED Aquarium Light Fixture 200

This is for a 5.5 gallon freshwater aquarium. For the money and longevity you can't beat this little light. I bought it to replace an ailing strip light in which I had already replaced a ballast and bulb. The strip light had a bit too much scale build up on it as well. The price of bulb and the cleaning necessary made me want to try something different. Received the light packaged well in it's manufacturers box. Plugged it in and was not displeased with the brightness.

I have an octagon tank so trying to find a replacement lamp for it wasn't easy. This one works great, makes my tank look awesome and love the blue night lights. Gives the tank a moonlit glow and my glow fish look awesome. Fits great on top of my old hood.

Seems like a fairly high quality build, metal housing with plexiglass guard for the leds. Very bright and makes a nice shimmering effect and at $30 its a bargain!

Filter Pad Replacement

Easy to clean and lasts a long time. Still using my first one and its 4 years old. Laguna has a lot of great products.

AQUABELLA Fresh Water Treatment

Fed up with grubby fish tanks and the smell the kids always promised to clean it out but guess what...

I normally clean this tank weekly I haven't cleaned it for 2 months.

The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is that I want to see it work for a year.

The tank is bright and the fish are happy I don't know how it works but it does.

I have been keeping aquariums for many years and have always been leery of additives of any kind. Several months ago I started a new 90 gallon freshwater tank and have had troubles with cloudy water for most of that time. I am running a 90 gallon sump with 20 gallons of bio media as well as 2 canister filters (for mechanical filtration). Still I was unable to get the tank to clear up.

After researching this product for several days, I decided to pull the trigger and ordered it for my freshwater and my reef tank. I have not yet seen any improvement in my reef tank, but my freshwater system has been transformed. I am now on day 3 of the treatment and the tank had already cleared considerably after only 2 treatments, even though it states that it is good for aquariums up to 55 gallons. I am VERY impressed the effectiveness of this product. The jury is still out on not having to do water changes for a year and I don't plan on putting it to the test.

This product has made a world of difference in my tank and I will definitely but more in the future.

I've been an aquarist for many years. I haven't noticed any big improvement in water quality or reduced need for water changes, either, after using this product as directed. Not sure I'd use it again, but it didn't hurt anything, either. Maybe the fact that my tank has a lot of plants in it has something to do with it.

Aqueon Medium Siphon Vacuum Aquarium Gravel Cleaner

Easy to start the flow and strong suction so strong that my gravel gets sucked into the bucket. In an effort to save my rocks and slow down the water transfer, I usually dip the suction tip into the gravel to start cleaning, then lift. As soon as the goop starts going into the tube, I place my finger over the outlet of the tube to stop the flow, then dip the suction tip back into the gravel for another run. Using this method, I've been able to clean more gravel during a single water change.

I bought this gravel vacuum to clean my 2.5gal betta tank. The only complaint I have is that this drains the tank extremely fast for being a mini vacuum. The suction is very strong as well, and I usually have to drain the tank into a bucket and fish out my gravel before dumping out the water.

I purchased this vacuum to help clean the bottom of a 45 gallon fresh water tank. I was leary at first since it was the first siphon vacuum I'd purchased, but was very pleased with the results immediately!

I place a 5 gallon bucket on the floor, place the end of the hose into the bucket and secure it with the clip provided. I then place the vacuum in the tank, shake it up and down quickly to start the suction, and then take it to the bottom of the tank. It takes me about 10 minutes from start to finish! If you work quickly, it takes out approximately 25% of the water in the tank. Perfect solution for a clean tank and a water change!

You must work quickly once the vacuum starts or you could easily end up removing more water, but makes cleaning and water changes quick and easy!

I have a 20 gallon fish tank. Cleaning the tank and changing the water took too much time before I used the 9-inch Aqueon Siphon. Learning the rhythm to get the siphon vacuum suction started can seem difficult at first. However, it is easy to start when the vacuum is completely submerged in the water and the end of the hose is a significant distance below your tank. Worked best for me when my bucket and end of the hose were at least three feet below the siphon within the fish tank. The hose is 6-feet long.

YML Aquarium Net Breeder, Medium

I love the the size and every thing seems to fit well enough. Although there were no instruction and nothing to go by. So I had to go on the internet to see what it should look like also one of the suction cups were broken. I mght by another one if it holds up.

Update: my original 4 stars is now 2 because it does not hold any fry which it was bought for and the suction cups do not work in the end I had to throw it away.

This guppy breeding net was horrible. It was way to big for my tank, it was a flimsy little piece of junk, and it sucked. It didn't even come with insructions of how to put it together! The frame was flimsy, and broke very easily. The pegs that hold it together were wierd shaped and didn't fit in the holes very well. The actual net was pretty much just a hairnet. The only thing it actually did was keep the bigger fish away from the guppy. I would NOT reccomend this product.

At first glance, the product looks pretty neat. Some may say that its size is too small, but 10.3 inches is 10.3 inches. So no cribs on that. However, the net is of extremely poor quality and had started ripping off the bottom seams when I received it. In case you want to use this breeder net, I recommend that you glue the bottom seams (with silicon sealant)to the plastic base after you slip the net on. The other problem is with the suction cups. They fit loosely into the slots provided. It is better to apply some silicon glue to the suction cup slots once you have placed the suction cups. So in case you still decide to purchase this product, make sure that you do have some silicon glue on hand.

This is a descent size breeder net. I Have African Cichlids up to 5" long and these nets work well.

There are a few little things that could be better, but I was able to rig it up easily enough.

The suction cups that hold it up are facing up, so the net needs to be hung from the tank lid.

Not very practical, so I had to hot glue different cups that would hold the net to the side of the tank instead.

Now they work perfect, they hold the Momma fish until the she spits her fry, then it lets the fry grow in safety.

I've tried others and they were either to small or nothing would keep them near the surface of the tank. So for

the money and a minor adjustment this will do the job.

This net is a lot bigger than I thought it was, however it fits nicely inside my 20 gallon tank and I can see the rest of the tank plus the babies within the netting. The only downfall I have with this set up is that it collects dirt and debris from the tank and gets stuck in the netting and is nearly impossible to get out and clean it back to the orgional state, and the suction cups have a tendency to get worn and not hold anymore after a while. It does work for its purpose however, as I have managed to successfully raise 17 different batches of Guppy babies in it thus far.

I was hoping for fake fish that varied slightly in weight, that would float at different levels in the aquarium. These all float at the top. It might have been packaged better, too. 1 fish was fine. The other two did not have the fins attached. One could be re-attached, the other went in the trash.

If you are looking for replacement fish that bob around in fake aquariums these are it. After much looking and buying the wrong thing I took a chance on these.

After reading the reviews on these I ordered two sets as so many said one was broken when it arrived. Mine were all fine. I got these for a small fountain and when I put them in the water the flow of water would cause them to bunch together. I got out some nickels, fish line and hot glue gun. Cut the lines and glue one end to a fish one to a nickel. They look really good in my fountain, hard to tell they are not real at first glance. Being that the line is about five to six inch in lenght they still swim around a little but do not bunch up.

I am giving this 1 star because none of my goldfish will eat this stuff. I have 30 goldfish in an outdoor pond. I fed this to them and for whatever reason they will not eat it. Its been 3 days now and the food is still at the bottom of the pond uneaten. Maybe you may have better luck than I did. The only plus to this is the container is large and u get a lot for your money. Aussie Aquariums Wall Mounted Aquarium - Skyline Black

*I am in discussions with the seller. So far they are being helpful and seem genuine about their desire to work this out to where I'm happy with what I've got, which is very much appreciated. I'll keep this updated regarding the result.*

I have rated very few things, but I felt people deserved to know more about this product.

I did a lot of comparison shopping and research, this being my first "real" fish tank. Given the small amount of technical data presented, I was comparing this against other 10-15 gallon tanks based on the 35x5x16 measurements. Here are the problems I've had with it.

* It's NOT the black I ordered, but blue. I thought maybe it was just me, or the light, but no, it's very clearly blue. Blue is not even LISTED as a color option.

*There are no measurements that equal 35X16x5. That would equal (2,800 c/inches), 12 gallons if it were full. The INSIDE tank measurements are 31.375x12.25x3.125. This is only 1,201 c/inches, a mere FIVE gallons!!! The total outside the wide frame measurements are 35.5x17.5x4.375, but this is MUCH bigger than the actual tank.

Unfortunately, this showed up (well packaged and quickly) the day before my daughter's birthday so we were in a hurry to get it up and running and didn't realize the problems until it was already mounted. Some other things to note, but aren't necessarily "problems."

The light is an unshielded under cabinet light. It will shine as much light up the wall as into the tank. It is not compatible with full spectrum lights if you wish to have live plants.

There is no "lid" per say, just a piece of glass that rests on top that you have to set aside when accessing tank. Haven't broken it yet, but I'm guessing it's just a matter of time.

With only a 3 1/8 interior depth, it is VERY narrow, most rocks/decor won't fit inside. There are large blind spots on the side hidden by the frame where fish/animals like to hide.

No heater is included. The filter seems OK but is a bit loud. The vacuum is easy to use and helpful. Kids could have easy access to all lighted on/off switches on the bottom. The metal face scratches and dents fairly easily. The instruction manual is generic for many tanks and is a bit vague on details.

Over all, if you want a small tank to hold no more than 5 total inches of fish, it's not bad. However it is NOT worth the $700+ "compare at price" in my opinion and it is NOT necessarily the size or color shown. Beware!

Aussie Aquariums Wall Mounted Aquarium is very classy. I received mine broke and received a partial refund. I fixed it and had to pay almost a hundreds bucks. Still worth it.

Aqueon 06091 Gravel Tube, 18-Inch

I bought the hose kit and it came with such a short gravel tube that I ordered this one. I have a 55 gallon and the tube it came with was short but perfect for smaller tanks. With this item, I don't have to get my hand or arm in the water. Highly recommended if you need an extension.

I have a 56 gallon column aquarium and this thing saves me from getting my hand/arm wet while vacuuming the rocks.

To all you people who need glasses. The tube is what it is. An extension tube to keep your arms dry while cleaning the gravel in your fish tank. The picture of the tube shows just the tube. No hose, no handles or nothing else but a 18" clear tube. To give this a bad review just because you thought you seen something that wasn't there is unfair. Like I said in my 1st line of this review, do not shop on line without an eye exam and or a pair of correct glasses for your eyes. Don't feel bad as a lot of people need and use glasses to see better including myself. So I will end this review and say this item works as it should and I will give it a 5+ star rating/review.

I don't have a large tank only 30 gal, but this longer tube should have come with the kit to start. it makes cleaning a lot faster since I can just put it into the rocks at the start, instead of having to drain water first (to avoid getting wet). definitely a must-buy if you have a larger tank.

Hydor H2Show Lost Civilization Background with Application Gel for Aquariums 31.5"x15.75"

I love the design and the concept. The colors in the image on your screen will be identical to the colors on your aquarium background when it arrives, very saturated for a nice effect.

Furthermore, the item arrived promptly.

That said, the resolution of the image is CRAP. I have to be honest. When I look through my fish tank, I can see the poor resolution quality just as I could when I was holding the background up in person and looking at it. Furthermore, the background arrived rolled up, and the roll was crinkled! Fortunately, I was cutting a small piece of this background out as I have a small fish tank, but nonetheless, if I were using the background to its full capacity I would have been angry. True, it likely wasn't sent by the manufacturer crumpled up, but the fact that it likely got damaged during shipping tells me that the seller needs to package it better.

I LOVE the design. I LOVE the shipping speed. But the image quality and the fact that the background arrived crinkled makes this an unacceptable buy for nineteen bucks. I'd pay no more than 8 dollars--or less than half of what I just paid--for it if I were to buy again.

This looks much better on the aquarium than even in the picture. Mine did arrive bent as if the box was crushed. I layed it out for a week to straighten (so it lost a star) before adhering it to the tank. I cut it down to fit a 20 gallon tank and used the oil sparingly on the cling. It took about an hour to get all the bubbles out with a kithchen spatula but the effect is worth it.

UPDATE

After 6 months this won't stay on the tank no matter what I do, edges curl and air pockets streak the background. I would not buy this again.

The resolution of the image is poor (aka blurry) but isn't a problem when seen from a distance. The image is very dark! You cannot see the details of the ruins or jungle plants like the in example photo. This image is nearly all black with some brown and gold accents such as the sun or reflecting water in the image. The size of this was wrong for my tank (40gallon.) It ended up being too tall, but not long enough. I used black paper to create a border to hide where the image was short on either side. I'm thinking of adding the ornaments since they might hide the exposed edges but since I'm not using this tank for fish...I'm not sure. Overall I really like the idea of these fantasy scenes since they are very different than all the other backgrounds which are rather dull. Needs to come in more sizes for larger tanks! Neat idea but certainly needs some work. I like this and my Tortoises seem to like the change. Didn't use the gel, just used tape. If this image was lighter so you could see all the details I would give this 5 stars for coolness, but you can hardly see the plants or anything.
