Tetra Whisper Air Pumps for Deep Water Applications

Tetra 26075 Whisper Air Pump, 150I purchased this pump because it needs to be able to supply a lot of air through about 6ft. of tubing, the first 4ft of that being straight UP.

This pump works wonderfully! Not only does it pump enough air to run a 3in bubble disk, and a 6in bubble wand, but it does so with so much power that I actually have my splitter set to only 3/4 power!

And, as amazing as it may seem, it does all this silently! I've used the big blue rounded pumps before, and they are silent for a while, but then get unbearably loud. I've been running this pump non-stop for months, and it hasn't increased in sound level at all. It's truly amazing.

I have no problem recommending this pump to everyone, it's cheap for what it offers, and it offers a LOT!

I have used many air pumps and besides the old trusty Whisper 1000, which is no longer available, this is the best in my opinion. It will have no trouble pumping down to 4 feet of water and still have good volume of air. Unlike the Whisper 1000, the 300 is not adjustable. The current image for Amazon is that of the 150 model. The 300 has two out lets.

I have one for my 4 feet deep pond for about a year and another for my fish room for six months. The on in the fish room is powering 6 air stones at 20 inches of depth with impressive amonts of air. Both have performed well and have been reliable. I plan to buy another one to keep around as a spare.

The pump is rather on the quiet side as far as noise is concerned, but I dont recommend it for a bed room or other areas where quietness is desired. You will hear the hum.

The key to longivity for these air pump is frequent replacement of the air stones. These pumps will last much longer if you keep the back pressure to a minimum. This sounds like common sense, but a lot of people just dont bother with this and then blame the pump failure on poor quality of the pump.

I looked long and hard for a quality pump and this is it . It is very powerfull , and wisper quiet . Has a nice heavy feel that screams quality . Good pump at a great price . I have it running 2 4" airstones and still have air to spare , I could easily run 2 more !

I've never had an air pump that wasn't a disappointment and they're always far louder than a "whisper" quite frankly, they make an awful buzzing racket! This one isn't silent, but it's noticably quieter than any of my previous air pumps and the through-put of air is fantastic! It's powerful, it's quiet and I'm SO GLAD that I bought this pump. I'm using the AP 150 in a bottom-drilled, 60 gallon tank the tube goes straight up through the floor of the tank, into an air stone and it's blasting a column of air like a champ! Plus: the price here on Amazon is about half of what the local fish store was charging. The Whisper AP 150 is a winner!

The pump initially worked very well, being both quiet and powerful. However, after 89 days of service it failed completely. It was pumping air into a depth of 2 feet.

Update: Contacted manufacturer. The unit is under warranty and they committed to replace it. The new pump arrived and works well.

Fish Tank Aquarium Light 48" 6x54w T5 HO Actinic Fixture

Fish Tank Aquarium Light 48' 6x54w T5 HO Actinic FixtureThe product was well described, and works great! The timer takes a few minutes to figure out, but it works well! I reveiced a faulty bulb, which was replaced several times by the seller due to transit issues (i.e. bulb shattered upon arrival). The seller was very helpful and cosiderate. I would def buy from them again.

I order two of these lighting units...All but a few of the bulbs were broken when it arrived although NOT due to poor packing but rather poor handling by UPS. It happens now and then. I emailed the company and they responded asap and sent out new bulbs that all arrived intact within a day or two. They followed-up on my order progress and shipment. It's rare to get that level of excellence in customer services these days.

The lighting fixture itself is awesome. No more multiple cords/plugs with timers to turn off and on...This one unit does it all with a built-in digital timer and display. It's made solid and the reflector is molded for optimal light reflection. This unit is extremely similar to another lighting unit that sell for a couple hundred dollars more.

This unit is set-up with marine lighting at 12,000K per tube and 2 actinic tubes, but I figured out the cost to change out the bulbs to convert to freshwater and it still comes out to be a great deal for freshwater too. I'm going to order another and switch out the tubes for 6,000K HO T-5s for a planted freshwater tank.

I'm very pleased with this purchase and impressed with the company's customer service. Highly recommend!

1st time I ordered it arrived broken, not sure if from shipping even though couple holes in box or if it was damaged already? 2nd time ordered my husband put the light together for me while I was at work, one blue bulb did not work, for me this was not a big deal however, the LEDs lights did not work. The first one that did work but was damaged when plugged in looked AMAZING! However the light it's self is flimsy, not well built and no name brand etc. also did not come with instruction booklet. I feel this light is just cheap and not of good quality. For 100 dollars more my husband took me to a marine store and bought be an amazing light with 4 bulbs and very heavy and durable. Not like this.

Petco Black Aquarium Sand, 20 lbs.

Petco Black Aquarium Sand, 20 lbs.I have now bought 7 total bags from the actual store and thought id share some words of wisdom. COMPLETLY DISREGARD ANY CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS ON OR NEAR THIS PRODUCT! The best way to clean the sand is in a 5 gallon bucket. Stick a hose in the bottom and let it overflow the bucket pushing all the little particles out. You absolutely have to agitate the gravel while in the bucket.

When adding to a tank there is 2 options.

1) Add it before the water and have lots of it floating at the top. (The air bubbles collect on it and make the little pieces float to the top)This happened with my first experience

2) Add it to a tank that already has water in it and or fish. When you do add it make sure to get a little bit in a container(Tupperware works best) and then slowly fill the container with water in your tank and then bring it to the bottom of the tank and pour like you would a carbonated beverage(SLOWLY) on the bottom. (This works the best for me)

I really do like this product; however ease of use and lack of good directions knocked it down a notch for me.

Love the look of it in the tank. I do not have bottom feeders, so nothing stirs it up, which I have heard can be a problem. Just did a water change and the suction didn't seem to bother it either. I highly recommend.

This sand looks really nice in my tank but I'm glad that I didn't have any fish in there when I added this. I rinsed and rinsed it and then it took a couple of days for my tank to clear up. Then, I had to change out everything in the filter (everything was black inside of the filter + plastic cups of water from the tank left a black residue in the cup after I dumped the water out of it). After all of that, its fine but I just think that was way too much work for sand, in my opinion.

Some reviews state that there are sand particles that float when you put the sand in..Well, yeah, air can get stuck to some sand particles and float them to the top. Just hit the particles that are floating, to knock the air off so the sand sinks back down, or get a net and scoop them out.. Not hard.

The sand is not as fine as beach sand, which I LOVE. My cichlids do not stir it up every time they play in it. Neither do my plecos and one is over a ft long. The picture makes it look like the grains are big. They are not at all. I went to petco in person and bought this (Same price.) My fish play in this more than they ever did my gravel, or my old white sand. It does not make your tank cloudy AT ALL when it is stirred up. The color is very black and makes my red jewels red color pop. I want to make all my non planted tanks have this sand as their substrate.

I bought this sand, along with two bags of the PETCO black gravel, for a 46 gallon freshwater tank. This was the first time using sand in an aquarium and I made some beginner mistakes. I did as many suggested, placing a quantity of sand in a bucket and then rinsing it outdoors to remove any sand or lighter particles. So far so good. I then dumped the sand into the empty tank and repeated until both bags of sand were in the tank. Being excited, I treated some water and filled the tank to the top by pouring the water straight into the tank. Big mistake!

I ended up with a very cloudy tank and a large layer of sand floating at the top of the water. The bottom of the tank was filled with what looked like pebbles, but upon closer inspection turned out to be air bubbles with a bunch of sand clumped around it. Anytime I touched the bottom of the tank, a host of bubbles and sand would float to the top. I waited several days but the floating layer of sand and the bubbles at the bottom remained. After some on-line research, I emptied about a third of the tank, then proceeded to slowly kneed the sand by hand, releasing all the air trapped in the sand, both on the top of the sand and buried under it. Once this was done, I knocked all the sand off the top of the water using a flat stick.

In the end, this turned out to be a good purchase. The black sand contrasts nicely with my fish and a few well placed rocks. Overall I was pleased with this purchase.

Up Aqua Pro-LED-PR-25 Pendent Light for Aquarium

Up Aqua Pro-LED-PR-25 Pendent Light for AquariumWhen I received this item it was a lot smaller than I expected. The actual pendant is about the size of a kumquat when I was expecting something the size of an apple. You should consider your tank dimensions before ordering this light. There is about 5 inches from the screw clamp to the cord the light hangs from the top arm. The distance from the tank to where the light drops from the stalk is not adjustable so it will work best on a tank 10" in length / depth if you want the pendant to drop near center. I will say I am surprised by how much light the 1w led puts out. Let's be honest you won't be growing plants with this light but is bright and provides good coverage in a small tank (I will be using the lamp on a 5.2 gallon Mr Aqua). With an 8,000K color temperature rating the led gives off a purple / blue light. The AC cord is pretty short, if I had to guess I would say it's 3 feet in total length. Overall I would say it's a decent light if you like the style / size and 8,000k color.

API Proper PH 7.0, 250gm

API Proper PH 7.0, 250gmI found this product to be very helpful in maintaining my aquarium at7.0. Don't expect this to be a miracle cure that keeps your tank perfectly at7.0 forever. This is meant to be something that helps you to avoid sudden shifts in pH, maintain a relatively stable pH between tank changes, or helps to bring your pH back to 7.0 when something altered it.

There really is no true way to keep an aquarium exactly at 7.0, and if the pH is changing rapidly that would be an indicator that there is something wrong with the overall water quality of the aquarium. Simply forcing the pH to remain at 7.0 doesn't mean water changes can be skipped or that overfeeding won't harm the water quality; all it really means is that the pH is within the ideal range of 7.0. I do bi-weekly water changes in my 40 gallon tank, and between changes I use this to maintain the pH at or around 7.0. My pH will drop to about 6.7 and this brings it back to 7.0, and then by the next water change it will be about 6.7 again until I change the water. This isn't meant to keep your tank at 7.0 forever, but it works great to help maintain a healthy aquarium.

If you find that this doesn't dissolve in the aquarium or it leaves the water cloudy you can dissolve it in water before putting it in the tank. I don't mind the cloudiness because when used in the recommended amounts it only stays cloudy for about 15-20 min as it dissipates into the water. I really don't see any reason why this would harm your filtration media when used properly. If anything the particles would get stopped in the filtration media which reduces the cloudiness as it continues to dissipate.

My husband told me to purchase the product for his fish tank because the PH level wasn't at the right level. Ever since he used it, He stopped complaining about the PH level. I guess it worked. :)

I was using this in the goldfish tanks for my kids. Despite the buffer, the pH would stay continuously very low. At times the pH would drop from 6.6 to 6.2 overnight despite the buffer. Needless to say...the fish all died. May not be enough for goldfish.

I use this in my cichlid tank. My local fish store closed so I had to find an online supplier, this item was packed nicely and arrived very quickly. If you are using this for the first time please read the instructions. You may have to add more then one application to bring your PH to 7, and you'll want to do it properly.

Added this to my tank to try a different product to help maintain my tank at 7.0 but all it did was make my tank cloudy for the better part of a week. If you're looking for a product I've used before and love, Neutral Regulator works amazing.

The item pictured was not what I received. I did not receive "bonuses" which from the picture was thought to be multiple colored rocks & plants. Since I only received 1 color, I was not even given the option of which color I wanted.

Aquarium Wood - Medium

Aquarium Wood - MediumJust note that it does say random picking, I did think it would be at least similar to the pic above, ie a "branch" grouping, and mine was like a log on its side. But saying that, I put it in my tank anyway and it looks great.

Although the base had to be reattached before it was put in my tank it looks great with it sitting in 3 inches of substrate and is 2 inches from the top. Good value.
