Title says it all.

This thing sounds like a miniature motor running.

It completely drowns out my filter's sound which isn't really loud, but it does it to a point where you literally can't hear the filter unless you're a foot away.

Terrible unless you keep your aquarium in the basement or likewise isolated area.

Drove me insane.....only after 2 days too.

^^^ is amazing. Hardly any noise, super compact, blends in well.

It was quite silent for a few days but after a week it is soo annoying. If the pump is on an open shelf like mine it can be very disturbing..

I have a valve connected to control the airflow into the tank and when I increase the air amount the buzzing noise increases as well.. very disturbing.

The reviews said that this was a silent pump. I don't know if the noise is a result of a faulty product or a faulty design but this one is going back.

I bought this pump because it was supposed to be quiet. HA! I plugged it in and said "UT OH! This isn't going to work. No way!" After three minutes I couldn't stand the noise any more and unplugged the darn thing. So disappointed.

Bought this one on impulse from lfs. Had I read reviews first I wouldn't have gotten it. I can hear the pump as I write this two rooms away :( How did they describe it? amazingly quiet? lol
