This light works very well for lighting the smaller Marina tanks. The best feature though is that the incandescent bulb really warms the water to a proper tropical fish temperature making it much more hospitable.

I was happy when I found this item I had been looking everywhere for it. It's great the only thing that I wish I knew was there is no on off switch so I need to get a timer for it. But other then that its great .

Helps maintain a good temperature for the betta fish. Also makes the tank look much prettier with the light in it. I have had it for over a month and its always on and the bulb hasnt even burned out.

I bought 2 of these to light up two individual 2 and a half gallon tanks, they work great for my application even though they are meant for marina tanks

The light doesn't light up the half gallon Marina tank very well at all. It's about the equivalent to shining a small pocket flashlight with almost depleted batteries through the top. Keep in mind my small tank has a maroon lid, so there is quite a bit of light filtering going on. However, even when turning on the light while it's off of the tank, the light output is minimal. It doesn't put out much heat either. I recommend looking at other lights, as you get what you pay for with this particular unit.
