I used this to divide my snail and betta fish so I could treat another tank. It did a really good job. Used in a 5 gal. and a 10 gal. tank.
we used the divider to separate the babies from the bigger fish it worked great the only suggestions would be to somehow have clear holders on the sides of the tank so they arent so noticeable

Tricky to measure and set up, and then the fish can just swim over or under it if they're of a mind. Waste of money.
