Zoo Med Deluxe Dimmable Clamp Lamp with 8.5-Inch Dome, Black

Zoo Med Deluxe Dimmable Clamp Lamp with 8.5-Inch Dome, BlackThis product does exactly what it says, but the dial does not have any marks to indicate how far it has been turned. You might want to use a silver or blue sharpie on the black plastic. (blue turns red, when written on black)

The dimmable part is really nice, to change as the season changes. This way the sensor switch I have, heats appropriately with an 150W ceramic heater. (summer nights are cool, winters are on the cold side)

I bought this to keep my Guinea Fowl warm in their coop over the winter. We've had a brutal winter with some nights well below zero, and it has kept them warm enough. I have two of these ceramic heat lamps going on the coldest nights. It was easy to install, easy to aim, and has kept my Guineas from freezing during the worst of the winter. It is not enough to keep the coop warm, which would be too expensive to run. I didn't expect them to be. I have these hanging above their roosts and aimed at where they always roost for the night. They always appear happy and comfortable in the mornings. These are just enough to keep them happy without a huge heating bill.

I got this lamp used from a friend of a friend, and i used it for maybe three months before one day the dimmer stopped working and it blew out my 16 dollar bulb. however, like i said, i got it used, and i put it to work with a rheostat once i got it. its a good lamp. i don't trust dimmers now but it's a great lamp. with a 150 W bulb, placed a foot or so above my tank, the lamp was able to heat the tank over 95 degrees using a 150w ceramic fixture. it's a powerful lamp. herp a derp. im buying a lamp from the same brand but without the dimmer since i never used the dimmer.

I bought this for my reptiles a few years back and it is still working. I like the feature where you can dim the light as needed since I use this light for my lizards and they do not like the heatlamp all the way up. I highly reccommend this both as a starter light and for expert users.

I use this on top of my beardie tank with a ceramic heat emitter. So far so good and I just adjust the dimmer switch to dial in the perfect night time temperature. As I've gone from fall to winter, I've had to turn it up a bit at night. I wanted the dimmer just for this purpose.

I would buy again to use with a CHE, but would probably not spend the extra money to use with a basking bulb.
