The light is very compact and bright. Unfortunately the design is cheap and LEDs are not cooled properly. Even if you power it at the lowest voltage rated (10V) and the strip is mounted on flat conductive surface, the LEDs will dim down very significantly after a few minutes of turning it ON. If you try powering it at 24V, LEDs will dim dow to about 10% of the initial light output in less than 30 s.

I have an Red Sea Max 130D and wanted more of the blue actinic look for when the main compact fluorescents were not turned on (the standard moon lights that comes with the tank are two wimpy small blue LEDs).
