I have a 180 gallon freshwater african cichlid tank. I have a wet dry filtration system with 35 gallon sump tank.My old pump was (Mag 3 pump) was only pumping about 200gph and was very noisy.
As soon as I installed the Aqueon QuietFlow Submersible Utility Pump 8000 (Model AQ8000) I noticed the difference in water circulation instantly. WOW!!!! This pump is AWSOME!!! This pump in rated about 1800gph with my setup. My fish love the new currents and fresh clean circulation throughout the (180 gallon) tank with no dead spots.
I only had the pump for about 2 weeks but so far so good. I recommend this pump for 180 gallon tanks or above.
UPDATE!!!
After 4 months of use suddenly this pump is very noisy and motor sometimes tries to stop and start at will.
WILL NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!!!!
