These air stones are decent. Not great, not terrible. They don't seem to be constructed really well which concerned me initially but ended working okay. A few of the stones get more air toward the back of the stone (where the air comes in) and almost none toward the end. The ones that get even air distribution work great. I guess its a good deal for the price.
This item is fluorescent. Under actinic light or a black light bulb it fluoresces pink. The soft silicone waves in the current and provides a nice place for your fish or shrimp to hide.
I have a 180 gallon freshwater african cichlid tank. I have a wet dry filtration system with 35 gallon sump tank.
Once I figured out how to fill it back up without spilling food everywhere it has been great. I use on a 55 gallon tank to feed twice a day. One less thing to worry about.
Works like it should but baby fish get stuck in between the net and the plastic. Received before date said to receive. All in all I will not use anymore, killed half of the babies.
Just bought the 50W model for my 10G tank. I set it to 79 degrees, and the thermometer agrees to this *exactly*, even on the weak side of the tank away from the filter.

I just got the Sludge extractor yesterday, and immediately rip the box open and tried it out. The product comes in a few pieces and nothing was crack or broken as other reviewers has experienced. They even included batteries for the extractor. Assembly was very easy, and a push of a button gets the little pump going. I would say that the sucting power is about the same as my gravel siphon, definately not stronger and no way would it be able to suck a fish up. (I have some neon tetras in the tank) The fine screen traps the "eek" and let the water flows out. It was easy to use and easy to clean. Although for some reason, the pump would stop on it's own for no reason at all. I have no problem with the battery cover, it seems secure enough and it never pop open on it's own. This product can be improved by having stronger suction power. I recently purchased this hood and paired it with a 20 gal glass tank. This is my first tank and I've found it to be very easy and hassle free. The tank stays very clean and clear and the fish seem to be very healthy and happy. It may be a little pricey compared to a standard setup, but for me, the ease of use and convenience of having everything in one package is worth it. And the top access makes maintenance easy. I currently have 5 zebra danios, 6 cory cats and 3 oto cats in the tank and all seem to be doing very well. I would highly recommend this item for the beginner.

I purchased this tank 9 months ago and have been fairly happy with it. It looks nice. I love the rounded corners which look much better than the glued glass panes. The acrylic material is still holding up, but I am a lot more careful cleaning it than with glass. The only problem I've had with this unit is a rattling noise that seems to come from the hood. It can be quite for 10 minutes to a couple of days. Then it starts rattling. I adjust the hood and it goes away. Lately, in the last couple of weeks the pump has started with some serious rattling which I can't get rid of. It annoys me and I am sure the fish are even more annoyed. This is my second Eclipse 3 [not 2 as sold above] for my 29-gallon tank. I love the convenience of it, etc. But the hood light has never properly worked -not on the first one, which I had for nearly three years, nor on the new one. Only one bulb illuminates -unless you take the darned thing apart and do quite a bit of maneuvering daily. Just thought I should share that with all.
Over 5 years ago, when I asked my local aquarium store for a recommendation on a quiet air pump I was told "Get a Rena". So I purchased one and hooked it up. The pump was so quiet that I couldn't even hear it operate which was important since the aquarium is close to my bedroom. Finally after years of faithful service the pump began to wear out with less and less output. I went to another aquarium store and was convinced by the sales clerk to get a Tetratec model. When I hooked it up it made so much racket that I couldn't sleep. I then went back to the orginal store and they sold me a rebuild kit for the pump for less than $8. I renewed the pump and once again it works flawlessly with no discernable noise. Rena pumps are just fine quality devices I highly recommend.

I bought this pump today and hooked it up. It made almost no sound. You could only really hear it when you put your ear next to it. I have been ignoring the loud rattle that my old pump made for entirely too long. It costs more in the stores than the other pumps, but its well worth it. Heck, the fish seem happier without a big rattling thing vibrating their water, remember sounds carry better through water than air, so if its loud for you, imagine how it is for them! I just got in my 2 new Rena Air pumps. I have been on the long search for a quiet pump. This is it. I would suggest this to anyone who has a tank located where noise can be a factor. I am hopeful these will be running worry free for a long time.
These are cheap check valves. They seem to do the job so far but i wouldn't bet new carpet on it. Fair price for the product.

I was looking for one to use in my CO2 injection system for my fishtank. The only options were $15 for a brass one or about $3 for two plastic ones, so I decided to try the cheap ones. After just the first night there was a fair amount of water that made it past the valve. We bought this tank for my daughter's third birthday. All was fine, until the fish started getting caught in the mermaid decoration. We've lost 2 fish now (and have taken the decoration out of the tank), because they died getting caught in there. It's a nice tank, filter works great, it's a good size for a child, but beware the death trap! We've since put other decorations into the tank that do not pose an entanglement risk.

Our tank looks beautiful. It is a planted tank with white rocks, blue and green glass discs, red rock hiding places. We just wanted more of backdrop. This bubble wand really did the trick. Blue lights with bubbles create a backdrop and set off the fish and plants more than ever! My only complaint is that at the furthest end if you turn the amount of air down, some of the holes don't let bubbles through. Obviously, you can find cheaper bubble wands out there that probably aerate you water just as well. but this one is unique in that it is bendable and comes with LED's to light the bubbles. I use it in my 10 gallon tank, and my only problem with it is that if you turn the air down power, the bubbles don't disperse evenly across the wand. If I keep the air at full blast, the bubbles look great and disperse perfectly, but it's a bit too powerful for my fish. The LED's are pretty nice, but I only turn them on once in a blue moon really. Great air out put with 2 outlets. Mine arrived broken with one of the 2 air adjustment knobs busted. Too bad they make everything out of plastic because otherwise this product would have been fantastic. The seller made it right by refunding my total purchase and ship price and also kust had me email him a pic of the damage so he could file a claim and let me keep the item. Knowing this was a great little air pump I contacted Penn Plax and I can not tell you how wonderful they are. Just one email asking if I could purchase a replacement for the broken part and I received an immediate reply asking for my address and they sent me a whole new air pump. I got the 20 gal. pump and it is rather weak, the one I had was more powerfully. Also, I was expecting a pump with adjustable airflow and two outlets,(like the product discretion states) and I didn't get either. The pump is working fine after 10 months and I like the power it is providing. The only complain that I have is I wish it was a bit quieter.
I have been using this test kit for a while now and have never had and difficulty with it, other than me droping the glass vials and breaking them on the floor. It's pretty straight forward and easy to use. Good thing there are 2 vials!

This performed admirably in conveying a betta fish between home and college, about a 2-1/2 hr trip by car with my wife holding the fish-in-Aqua Pal in her lap in the passenger seat, following my daughter's instructions to keep the jostling of the fish to a minimum. The little guy did look a little stressed by the episode, but recovered quickly when he arrived. This unit has a small access port in the top for food and air, a handle, a screw-on top, and an LED light. What more could you ask for? I would definitely recommend carrying it by its handle AND by its bottom to be doubly sure no disaster occurs. We used aquarium gravel instead of the included plastic "gems". The price is a little high for the apparent cost of the unit, but, it's just the thing for this task.
