While the stones plug up and need to be replaced, this device is cleanable. BUT, it doesn't actually produce the fine bubbles that a stone does, and the smaller the bubbles, the better the gas exchange. This device produces a bubble size that is barely better than just sticking the hose in the water with no end at all.

Its a really good natural ornament for any fish tank. I put it In one of my South American Biotope tanks and the fish in there love it! Also, you can put an airstone under the sand under the ornament at the effects are stunning! One of the features of this item is that when put under a UV "black" light, it has some interesting highlights. I have had more than one for several years and the colors have not faded atall, as some are prone to do.
I purchased this from TruAqua because the shipping time on Amazon was weeks. Anyway, I think this is a good low-tech filter but better for 10 gal and up. I have a 7 gal and the size of the filter and its bubble are a little big for my tank. I like that it come with good media (I replaced the black foam with white because I don't want any carbon filtration) and it's easy to do. The top comes off easily but not sure if I can open the partition that has the gravel and ceramic. I haven't really tried yet for concern about breaking the plastic. It seems sturdy, and I like that the outflow is adjustable. Just wish there was a way to make finer bubbles.

There's nothing like a good old-fashioned filter. It sits in the corner and keeps the water clean like it's supposed to. I have it in a ten gallon aquarium and remove it to clean the the three layers of filter material and rinse the stones out every so often. There's no charcoal or anything to replace. Its a great way to cover your aquarium and works just as its supposed to. In my opinion, glass canopies are much better because of the ability of putting two light strips or bigger light strips on the tank. Just be careful because i have broken one of these before. The plastic guard is also great to get more of your tank covered. All in all, it does a great job.

Nice lid, works like it should, easy to trim and fit around your filters and such. Glass is a little rough around the edges however and I wish they would polish it down smoother for less chance of getting cut. one corner chipped on my already. good overall though.
These at great. They even come with the substrate to plant the plants. After installing these into my tank I was amazed at the way the water turned crystal clear. I don't know I if us the substrate or the plants but I do know I am super happy with these. Installing the plants into these isn't as easy I would have hoped but I don't know how it could be improved so five stars.

These planters make it easier to clean my betta's tank. I did have to make some modifications. I cut a slit up the side, of the upper half of the pod to slip the plant into the open top of the pod. Some of the plants were larger than the diameter of the hole, so I cut a larger diameter opening of the upper pod. A dremel works well for this. After the plants were in the pods and placed in the tank, I did notice that the plants started to float. This was easily fixed by placing a larger rock in the pod. Another fix would be to bury the pod into the gravel, but my betta's tank does not have a deep gravel bed. The pods work great and I have a fair amount of substrate left, the water has been very clean and the nerite snails don't mind crawling on them. I prefer the center hinge over the screens withe little access doors. I thought they would be more convenient by not having to move my lights when access the terrarium. The little doors are just that though little. The center hinge makes maintenance and feeding much simpler. It is also much easier to remove a wriggling lizard with the center hinge screen. The only thing I don't like is that they never seem to fit flush with the top of my aquarium. I have bought many screens by this manufacturer and they all need to be clamped down with those ugly screen locks to fit tight. They feel a little flimsy but I have never had a problem using light bulbs, infrared heating bulbs, or the ceramic heat lamps on top of these covers.
That about says it all! Perfect fit! Maybe wish the back plastic piece was 1/2" wider, my protein skimmer return barely fits, but it does!

I bought two of these LED air stones they are really well made and add a really nice touch to a tank. It also seems to have a calming effect on my fish for some reason, great overall product, these should be cheaper in my opinion but thats the only thing I have against these.
The company does not disclose the ingredients so that makes it hard to assess if this product is worth the money. For that reason, I can only give it 3 stars. I would have given it 3.5 is possible. It does increase gH, kH and pH effectively. There are many similar products available that do the same thing and tell you what you're putting in the water. This one is cheaper than most of them.

This were the cheapest brand of cichlid salts I could find and coming from an long established name in the aquaculture industry I wasn't worried about poor quality.
The bowls do their job and to be honest, there really isn't anything wrong with them. However, you have to clean them every two weeks or they become disgusting and start to smell. I suppose that's how it is with all non-filtered fish bowls but these are not the easiest things to clean.

Easy to clean and doesn't take up space..it's beautiful. The fish is thriving and the cats love to watch but can't reach it..It's a very pretty display on the wall, it's out of reach of our other pet, and our fish Frank loves it! It was a big improvement in life from the Walmart cup we bought him in... lol
I got this as a Christmas gift for my Shetland Sheepdog to keep him occupied and non-destructive. It took him about 20 minutes to get through all of the little sliders, but he figured it out all the same (box says it's a "difficult" level). He seems to enjoy it, and hasn't lost interest yet, but I had some pretty good cookies in there too. I'm so glad that it seems pretty sturdy (although he only weighs 25lbs), and the bones are too big for him to chew and swallow. Might be an issue for larger dogs that would have to be watched with it. One minor annoyance is that it takes a while to set up, because you have to remove and place back each bone one by one. I feel like I'M the one being trained! Nevertheless, I would highly recommend this for people with herding dogs that need some entertainment.
